The Farmers Inn

Easy to find near Dumfries and a nice break into Scotland at the start of our journey. Room was clean and comfortable, and we had the one nearest the ramp so didn't have to climb steps. Room was a bit dark, but easy to move around in, and had sufficient power outlets so we could charge our phones without a problem. Dinner was very good and the owner introduced me to a new ale that i hadn't tried before... great recommendation! We also found out he was the local postmaster, and let us confirm we had the correct postage-- so didn't have to wait 3 days for the post office to reopen! Very helpful! Breakfast was included and there were sufficient options so both of us got what we wanted. Tried Scottish 'tatties' for the first time, too. Lots of quiet country farms all around! Thank you!

Room spacious clean and warm. Comfortable bed and showers room good. Food in pub good portions. Friendly. Value for money. Would stay again

Great room, food excellent and reasonable priced.Staff friendly and could not do enough. The breakfast could not of been better. Will definitely return if in the area.

nice room in small detached block to rear of pub, almost like an American motel. Great local pub with good food menu and great cooked breakfast in the morning

We found the beds to be too firm and therefore had little sleep. Everyone was friendly and the food was good
