Beautiful hotel in the center of Sintra. Close to a public parking lot and walkable to several attractions. The inn was beautiful inside, with extensive outdoor gardens, and the welcome port was appreciated! There was also an honor bar in the public lounge, where we relaxed with other travelers. Nice place, friendly service in a very beautiful town

A very conveniently located chalet. It is close to the Train station, city center, etc. It is an vintage chalet but renovated to make it comfortable and with "modern" amenities. However, it is obvious that these amenities don't really "fit" for e.g. the shower stall is tiny but it is there. Another issue is a lack of an elevator. The rooms are located on the floors above and below the main (ground floor) level. The staff will transport the luggage to the rooms but if you have to leave early or come in late, there is no elevator and you have to carry it. There is no staff from 9 pm to 9 am. Although there is a phone no. to call, it does not help with the luggage. The breakfast is not on site but in a very charming cafe a few minutes away. The food choices were very nice and the staff very pleasant and helpful. Overall, the property is cute, charming and well located.

The Chalet was just plain awesome. Beautiful room (wish it was on first floor). Walk to everything. The only neg. Was lack of parking but Katrina gave us good options. Would return in a heart beat.

This is a quirky hotel. Our room was great but there’s no elevator so it’s up to you to haul your suitcase up and down. Breakfast was across the street because the kitchen is being renovated. We paid for a parking space so we were right outside the gate. Staff very friendly and helpful and location excellent.

There were flying ant type of bugs in our room which was unpleasant. Otherwise clean but I wouldn’t stay again, I would do a day trip from Cascais as there are s no night life, in Cascais restaurants open for dinner at 7, here everything closes as 7 so we had potato chips for dinner. Parking was confusing and I am glad we only stayed one night.

Charming setting, very clean, especially for older Victorian-style decor. Comfortable bed. Very pleasant airy sitting room to take complimentary port. The front and back courtyard areas were inviting Nd well kept. An ice machine was available 24/7!!! The house is wonderful, smartly updated, and our bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever slept in. A wonderful place and stay. Staff was equally wonderful. We would definitely return to spend more time.

The large house is beautiful. The staff very nice. Should noted that the rooms are on many different levels and there is no elevator. We had a wonderful room, but if was down three flights of stairs. They do have a very nice young man to help with luggage.

Very charming and well located hotel in a classic style. Room was very spacious. The bed was wide and soft. Bathroom was small but clean. Maid service came in and cleaned up nicely. Desk clerks were extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was at their restaurant around the corner and was a good sized assortment of a few slices of ham, cheese, a fruit bowl a hard boiled egg and a basket of croissants and slices of bread. Orange juice and a choice of coffees. Friendly service at this popular spot. We went early one day and late the next. Recommend early as it’s not so busy and the croissants were fresh and hot! Location is perfect for walking to sites.

I booked this because I thought it was cute but the pictures don't do it justice. I had stayed at a 5 star hotel during my stay in Portugal and I enjoyed this adorable Chalet just as much. The property had so much character and charm and I absolutely loved our room. It was very clean and well decorated. I just loved everything about this stay. Wish I could have stayed longer than one night. Will return someday and stay longer.

For the price, I expected more: -a view of the gardens which by the way are only accessible from the outside. -larger room and better modernized -that the breakfast would be included or that it would change from one day to the next Mold was noticed in the shower. Not what it was made to be. Better to stay in Lisboa and take a day trip to Sintra. I will not recommend this place.

We absolutely loved this place. Friendly staff. Convenient to walking into Sintra. Quuaint. Big room that led out to the garden area. Cons: lots of stairs. If you are immobile or have a hard time with stairs I'd suggest a room on main floor. Our room was on bottom floor and smelled a little musty.

The staff at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our 4 night stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close. It felt like home.

This was such a magical and unique guest house. We had room 13, which included a large bedroom, living area, and balcony. The space was unique….wood mosaics in the floor, fabulous art nouveau designs on the walls, and great light. And it was spotless. The staff is authentic, helpful, and truly local. We had a memorable (in the best way possible) experience at Chateau Saudade. And one more thing…the breakfasts were incredible. A real place…just lovely

Beautiful, old house with matching furnishings; elegant common areas, sitting room with a beautiful view of the valley Wonderful and helpful staff. The room itself was rather small and cramped with no sitting area or a desk. the hot water in the bathroom was just lukewarm and down to almost a trickle.

The most beautiful hotel with the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff. We loved our family room(s) and the balcony and views were incredible!! The only suggestion we would add is to install some more table and bedside lamps as it was either main lights on or darkness. Parents with children who sleep earlier love to have a little light to themselves. Gorgeous property overall and well appointed. Would definitely stay here again!

The Chalet is in an excellent location. Very quiet, yet close to many restaurants & shops, and walking distance to main attractions. It’s a beautiful, charming accommodation. Spacious, incredible view of the valley below & castles above. Stunning sunsets. Morning birds singing. The best of everything. The staff were all very kind, gracious & very helpful. I felt well taken care of. Loved every minute, wish I could live there. I highly recommend it!!! Thank you for an amazing stay. My balcony is was large enough for at least 8 people with ample room!! My suite had a large living room area, beautiful bedroom & bathroom, all with very high ceilings, on the second floor.

This place is GREAT! The staff, especially Catarina, was very helpful. They even have a large digital scale for weighing suitcases. It is extremely convenient with surprisingly large rooms. They also own a restaurant, which is only a few minutes away. A LARGE, delicious breakfast is surved there.

Ett underbart ställe, rent och fint och med mycket karaktär. Trappor kan dock vara ett hinder. Parkering direkt knuten till hotellet finns inte men är enkelt lösbart, kontanter behövs dock. Mycket tjänstvillig och kunnig personal. Frukosten, mot tillägg, var helt fantastiskt och rekommenderas varmt.

The staff we're very welcoming and accommodating make great recommendations for dinner. The office mgr assisted us in purchasing our train tickets to Porto when she found out we hadn't purchased them yet, again above and beyond. The hotel restaurant for breakfast was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to help. I had lost my phone and the concierge called the phone and had the person return it to the hotel. The restaurant recommendations were great, and explained how best to get around to see the monuments.

Our host welcomed us and explained how to get the most out of our stay. We had a second night booked separately, and they helped us with a room upgrade so we would not have to shift rooms. It is a lovely place with wonderful staff. It is a pleasure to stay with Chalet Suadade.

Great place within a few minutes walk from the train station and the national palace building. The building has a beautiful common room with a rustic feeling and the staff were extremely helpful with planning our days activities In Sintra.

This hotel is very near the train station and some excellent restaurants. The staff is very knowledgeable and accommodating. We needed to drop our bags off early and they were very kind about this. They even took them to our room. We found the place quiet and the port offered at the end of the day was a nice gesture. The breakfast was just excellent and quite close. I had to leave earlier than it opened on our last day and I asked if I could use my breakfast voucher for a croissant, cheese and a bun. They delivered this box to the hotel with a huge amount of items in it. I was so pleasantly surprised. It was all so good. This is a great place to stay and I would recommend it.

The Chalet is in an excellent location. Very quiet, yet close to many restaurants & shops, and walking distance to main attractions. It’s a beautiful, charming accommodation. Spacious, incredible view of the valley below & castles above. Stunning sunsets. Morning birds singing. The best of everything. The staff were all very kind, gracious & very helpful. I felt well taken care of. Loved every minute, wish I could live there. I highly recommend it!!! Thank you for an amazing stay. My balcony is was large enough for at least 8 people with ample room!! My suite had a large living room area, beautiful bedroom & bathroom, all with very high ceilings, on the second floor.

Beautiful hotel in the center of Sintra. Close to a public parking lot and walkable to several attractions. The inn was beautiful inside, with extensive outdoor gardens, and the welcome port was appreciated! There was also an honor bar in the public lounge, where we relaxed with other travelers. Nice place, friendly service in a very beautiful town

Wonderful stay, great breakfast, lovely helpful staff. Took the water a bit to get hot and the main part of the house too cold for this Hawaii girl but this stay and room was wonderful. Location was a little outside of town but super close to the train station and restaurants.

Great location for a couple nights in Sintra. Walking distance to the historic town, downtown, train station and bus station. Everyone that was there was extremely friendly. The breakfast was incredible. Will definatly come back.

The Chalet Saudade was a dream! I would go back in a heart beat. Friendly staff, central location, and beautiful grounds. Our room was clean, convenient, and updated. We slept like babies.

Charming setting, very clean, especially for older Victorian-style decor. Comfortable bed. Very pleasant airy sitting room to take complimentary port. Chalet Suadade is the perfect spot from which to explore lovely Sintra. It's a easy one block walk from the train station, about a block to the public bus stop, an easy spot for Uber/Bolt drivers to pick-up/drop off and within walking distance of multiple sights & restaurants. Our room was comfortable, quiet and had everything we needed. Most importantly, the staff was extremely helpful with recommendations and tips and easily accomodated both an early check-in and a request to leave our (bulky) luggage behind as we explored the sites. We stayed one night -- wish we would have stayed two to fully enjoy the comfortable and cozy common spaces and to spend a bit more time exploring, especially the surrounding neighborhood. Sintra is a special place and really deserves more time. Chalet Saudade is a easy spot to just relax and enjoy. Book it!

Very charming and well located hotel in a classic style. Room was very spacious. The bed was wide and soft. Bathroom was small but clean. Maid service came in and cleaned up nicely. Desk clerks were extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was at their restaurant around the corner and was a good sized assortment of a few slices of ham, cheese, a fruit bowl a hard boiled egg and a basket of croissants and slices of bread. Orange juice and a choice of coffees. Friendly service at this popular spot. We went early one day and late the next. Recommend early as it’s not so busy and the croissants were fresh and hot! Location is perfect for walking to sites.

Sintra was a beautiful city to visit. And Chalet Saudade was a wonderful hotel. Our room and the veiw was amazing, and it was very conveniently located to restaurants, shopping, and transportation. The included breakfast is at their cafe less than a block away and was a very charming cafe with great food.

Warm, accommodating, comfortable, convenient. This chalet, its hosts and owners, are welcoming and so kind. We were there during the infamous power outage, and it felt as if we were with family. Also, the setting is magical, the rooms are comfortable, and the location is excellent for exploring. If we ever return to Sintra, a stay at Chalet Saudade is an absolute given. Oh! One more thing: The breakfast at the cafe was absolutely amazing.

When we checked in, we got tips for all the places we wanted to go and the best way to see everything we had on our list. It was perfect. Hotel was centrally located to train station. Beautifully restored however the beds were not very comfortable. The staff were amazing but this hotel was so noisy from early morning until 10pm. The walls and ceiling were so thin so unless your a 7am riser i would not stay here again simply for this reason.

Amazing, wonderful staff. While the hotel is “vintage” and there are stairs to walk up or down, it is comfortable and charming. They upgraded us and we actually had an adjoining living room. Again, the staff were fluent in English and genuinely helpful.
