Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites St. Joseph by IHG

There were 2 problems with our stay. 1. The pool had way to much chlorine that after maybe 30 minutes my sons eyes were burning and bright red. He hurt and couldn’t keep his eyes open. I washed them out with water and contact saline. Applied a cold compress to his eyes. Took several hours before he could open his eyes without them hurting. 2. We were on the second floor and the family above us let their kid run and jump all day and into late night. Then up at 6am to run and jump again. I explained all this to the front desk and was told they would let the manager know. We stay at a lot of hotels and most of the time it is Holliday Inn. I was really surprised at how this stay was.

Very nice hotel! Only wish there was a hot tub, too!

The laundry service was fine. We only stayed overnight and didn't have breakfast as we wanted to get back on the road so soon as we could.

Well front desk help TAMMY was letting adults drink alcohol in the pool area while kids were in pool last time I check if kids aren’t supposed to dive or run in pool than I by is it ok to have grown adults In pool area where are the morals of safety for kids our OR Even a FAMILY atmosphere when your traveling so NEVER STAY IN SAINTJO EVER AT THE HOLIDAY IN EXPRESS OR THERE OTHER HOTELS IN AREA THATS OWNED BY HOLIDAY INN WHICH IS FAIRFIELD OR CANDLEWOOD INN We will never stay couldnt pay us to stay again with TWEEKER TAMMY Working the front desk and fire alarms went off as well malfunctioning three time within a hour DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE NOT IN SAINT JOSEPH So if we could give NO STARS we would

It's clean it's safe the staff is wonderful fitness room everything was great they even have washer and dryer

We had great expectations for this hotel but unfortunately our visit wasn't very good. The floors felt sticky we traveled with kids and we used the extra linen and pillows from the closet and they all look uded, were dirty and had stains on them. We let.the front desk know and they brought a clean one. The kids wanted to go swimming and the pool was so cloudy and looked dirty. They didn't stay that long. The only positive thing was the breakfast. Lots of quick options, clean and plenty of staff assisting around. I would recommend it but they just need to improve in some areas. Great location with walking distance to grocery shopping, food, movie theaters and other shopping stores.

We loved our stay.. if it had a hot tub it would’ve been perfect

The room was clean and very spacious and made for a comfortable stay. The pool was nice and clean . No complaints

When we arrived there was a sign on the counter announcing that the elevator was out of order. They had reserved us for the 4th floor. I knew my husband would not make it up four flights with luggage in tow. I asked if they could put us on the main floor which they did. So that was a plus. The rest of our overnight stay was fine although I did have some trouble with the shower being slippery—too soft of water I think. Breakfast had a bit more offerings than is usual at motels. So a bit above average stay.

Kind, quick and professional check in. Clean lobby, hallways, elevators, restrooms & commons areas. Rooms are decorated tastefully, smell nice & are clean!! Pool warm, smells clean and feels great. Water temp GREAT!

Carpet was sticky

The hotel was very nice and in a great and safe area. Very close to Joe's coffee which was great!! The hotel staff were friendly. The only thing that we didn't like is that the floors were damp and sticky and if you walked with bare feet then you would get black feet and hair on your feet it was gross.

Clean rooms, comfortable beds, breakfast was really good- I love the variety of foods you offer.

Where do I start? I booked this room because it was the most expensive which probably was my first mistake. Bugs of some sort in the room bit us all night. The room was not clean at all with fruit under the bed and some kind of peanut butter smashed on the wall. Uncomfortable bed couldn't wait to leave

Did not enjoy my stay here seen a couple cockroaches in the room.

Had to call front desk due to cord being unplugged and couldn’t change channels. She was very helpful however she smelled our room up with smoke.

Clean facility and great location

Clean, spacious and newer property. Comfortable beds and the staff is really friendly. I’m usually a Marriott traveler but I’m definitely adding Holiday Inn express for family travel needs.

The hotel was nice and comfortable. We felt welcomed when we came and it was easy and accessible to get to our room. When we entered the room it was nice and large and easy to find the sheets for the pull out bed. There were plenty of towels and other amenities inside of the room. We were very pleased with our stay.

I was not able to get an internet connection. Called front desk who offered a fix (tried to find a pen in the room to write down instrutions-- no pen) . Instructions followed -- but did not work.No further help. Wife and I wanted a cup of coffee but only one paper coffee cup in our room. Wife had cup of coffee. Not good for $200

We stayed 3 nights,tv was out for 2 nights ,after multiple complaints maint rigged the tv w an adaptor that hung over the top of tv, you had to put the remote on it for it to work.the last day the hot water faucet just spun , no hot water, the bathroom would drift, you would turn around and run into it. I feel like I should get some compensation.also the coffee was horrible.

Beautiful hotel. King suite room was well laid out. Great shower. A TV in couch area would be nice. The low rating is for the bed. It was EXTRA firm and I just didn’t sleep well. The difference between the bottom and the top rating. Tried the couch but it was too small. Bed was a little better than the floor so didn’t try the floor. Just beware if you need a softer bed. A pillow topper should be offered for those people who need a softer bed.

Great breakfast, hotel was clean. My only complaint is that the beds were very uncomfortable.

Very clean and well kept hotel. Our room refrigerator did not work well at all. The beds were firm, not what we care for. It would be nice if that information was included with room description.

walls to thin, very noisy and the housekeeping was going down our hall efore checkout times knocking n every door and saying "housekeeping". We weren in town for a birthday party and had a late night , we were woken to early on a Sunday morning. Shortley after that around 9am there were multiple people in the room next, all woman, i think housekeeping, laughing and carrying on for 5 minutes. In summary, too noisy and you can hear everything within 10 ft

Staff was very polite & made our stay very comfortable. Will definitely stay here again when we visit.

Check in was horribly rude

First Holiday Inn Express we've been to that served breakfast on china plates with stainless flatware. The real surprize was the dedication of the staff. Two folks did the service of four or five that included removal of plates and pleasant conversation. First free breakfast service we felt required a tip. Ironically, we were attending a catered 55th high school reunion that used all disposeable tableware. Great job HIE staff!

We stayed in the Holiday Inn Express in Saint Joseph, Missouri last night. We live in town and had a bit of a house fire that made it impossible to sleep in our home. We booked the hotel through Expedia (thinking we were getting one of the nicer ones in town so we could at least be comfortable despite our circumstances). Upon arrival, I gave my license and the card being charged. Immediately the front desk receptionist noted my license said I lived in town. I said that we did (my husband and toddler), but we had a house fire. She showed no sympathy and said she’d have to check with her manager before she could allow us to stay. I was nearly in tears at 10:30 at night thinking I might have to face finding yet another place. Quite frankly, at that point, I didn’t even want to stay. The receptionist walked away to contact her manager and came back to ask who was paying for the room. At this point I was distraught (though, I didn’t show it. I just wanted a place for us to sleep as soon as possible). I told her we were paying and she walked away again to tell her manager. I can’t even tell you the terrible way this woman made me feel on top of already being displaced from our home. Apparently, the hotel does not allow locals to stay. However, we often book this hotel for our special speakers and out of town guests and I don’t think we’ll be doing that again. If they can’t treat local residents with kindness and hospitality, how can we expect them to treat our guests that way? This

Amazing staff! We came to town one day early and the staff fully accommodated us with a clean, affordable room! 5 star service and happy with the hotel. Will definitely be back!

Very close to shopping and many restaurants. Close to highway and easily accessible but quiet.

We arrived at 10 PM so we did not pay attention to the area. It does seem nice with a few places to eat.

Good location for our purposes.

We were very happy with our stay. We were there without a car. We walked to supper at nearby 54 last night and walked to shopping this morning!

The thing I didn't like is that. I specifically asked if they serve gravy in the mornings. Because I was looking for a hotel that did that so I was expecting. With a breakfast, but that wasn't true. But other than that, everything was really great.And can't complain
