Just outside of the main town area, we had a quiet nights stay and amazing views all the way to the ocean! Having our Own cabin and easy parking was nice. Very comfortable stay.

We recommend this property for families visiting Monteverde. We booked the 6-person suite, which was located in its own cabin. Jose, the owner, was very responsive and easily accessible via Whatsapp. Regarding the property, the mirador (looking point) shelter is a real selling point; while other tourists need to stand alongside the road and fight for parking to watch the sunset, Bella Vista Lodge guests may view it peacefully from the comfort of a covered and exclusive shelter. It is also possible to view the sunset directly from the 6-person cabin porch. Considering the remoteness of Monteverde, we found the cabin clean and practical. The dish and plates were a bit sparse but workable for 4 people. The property is a 5-10 minute drive away from the central mall of the town where there are grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, etc. It is also immediately next to a gas station. It is about 15 minutes to the cloud reserve parking lot. Laundry service is available for $5 per kg; Jose collected our clothes during the evening and returned them the next morning before check out.

Greeted by name when i arrived.Comfortable room close to Curi Cancha and a waterfall. Walkable to restaurants and the Centro Commercial for the bus, about 1k. Family run, and breakfast was served in my room at a scheduled time. I liked the place a lot. Great view from a small covered viewing area.

Very great lodge with big room and nice size kitchen and living/dining area. Bathroom can take some improvements. Outside sunset and rainbow views are awesome. Birds were amazing too of various colors ( yellow, orange and blue). We were satisfied with the pricing and conditions. Night time dark sky with many stars was also a great touch.

We believe it’s family owned. Very friendly and helpful if you need anything. The area is a little secluded which is nice and quiet. Step out of your room and a great view is waiting for you. I was told during the dry season, the sunset will be right in front of you. Place is comfortable. No AC, then again, just open your windows to let the air in. You’re on top of a mountain anyway. Not sure if it’s the rainy season, but there were bugs outside. Turn off your lights so they don’t come to your door. Breakfast was delivered to our rooms in the morning. Overall, would stay again if ever. It’s also a 5minute or less drive to the town.

We enjoyed our stay at Bella Vista! José was very friendly, welcoming, communicative, and helpful. The location is really convenient near cloud forest. The hotel has a gorgeous view over the valley and a nice covered terrace to enjoy the view. Thanks for the great stay and Would highly recommend!

The lodge is in a convenient position with only a 10 minute walk uphill to the town shops anf restaurants. The owner was very helpful about arranging tours and advice around the area. Unfortunately, the rooms were very damp with the internal walls wet to touch. All clothes became damp, even those left in bags. A dehumidifier was put in the room but it was not large enough to cure the damp. Please note that our stay was during a period of exceptional rainfall as a result of Storm Sara so that our experience may not be normal.

A small, but mighty property!! This family run property only has 3 units, however, very much worth a stay in Monteverde. The cabins are clean, comfortable and spacious. As an added bonus, the location is perfect for a Monteverde sunset. Jose is a perfect host as well!!

What we liked the most: Scenery: Amazing view of the valley and lots of birds if you wake up early. When clouds disperse, you can see the Pacific and the Gulf of Nicoya. Mesmerizing. Budget some time to just drink in the scenery. Hospitality: Jose is a hands on host and is responsive to your every need. Getting breakfast hand delivered to you in the morning by his Mom was a highlight every morning. Location: Perfect. On the edge of Monteverde, close to Curi Cancha reserve and the Monteverde Cloud Forest park and many attractions that we missed. Walking distance to restaurants and a nice supermarket. Just to give american travelers an idea of the cabins themselves, they are very similar to state park cabins. Rustic and out there. We had a comfortable stay there.

Lovely place in Monteverde with great views. The owner, Jose, was very friendly and helped us book some great tours. We do note that the walls of the accommodation were fairly thin and you could hear the neighbours. Other then that this was great value for money!

We enjoyed our stay at Bella Vista! José was very friendly, welcoming, communicative, and helpful. The location is really convenient near cloud forest. The hotel has a gorgeous view over the valley and a nice covered terrace to enjoy the view. Thanks for the great stay and Would highly recommend!

Lovely place in Monteverde with great views. The owner, Jose, was very friendly and helped us book some great tours. We do note that the walls of the accommodation were fairly thin and you could hear the neighbours. Other then that this was great value for money!

A small, but mighty property!! This family run property only has 3 units, however, very much worth a stay in Monteverde. The cabins are clean, comfortable and spacious. As an added bonus, the location is perfect for a Monteverde sunset. Jose is a perfect host as well!!

We recommend this property for families visiting Monteverde. We booked the 6-person suite, which was located in its own cabin. Jose, the owner, was very responsive and easily accessible via Whatsapp. Regarding the property, the mirador (looking point) shelter is a real selling point; while other tourists need to stand alongside the road and fight for parking to watch the sunset, Bella Vista Lodge guests may view it peacefully from the comfort of a covered and exclusive shelter. It is also possible to view the sunset directly from the 6-person cabin porch. Considering the remoteness of Monteverde, we found the cabin clean and practical. The dish and plates were a bit sparse but workable for 4 people. The property is a 5-10 minute drive away from the central mall of the town where there are grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants, etc. It is also immediately next to a gas station. The lodge is in a convenient position with only a 10 minute walk uphill to the town shops anf restaurants. The owner was very helpful about arranging tours and advice around the area. Unfortunately, the rooms were very damp with the internal walls wet to touch. All clothes became damp, even those left in bags. A dehumidifier was put in the room but it was not large enough to cure the damp. Please note that our stay was during a period of exceptional rainfall as a result of Storm Sara so that our experience may not be normal.

Nice views from hill top. Away from town but close enough Friendly staff. Unpaved road leading into property with steep climb. Cottages need upgrading everything from furniture to bathroom and toilet. Linen and towels musty.

What we liked the most: Scenery: Amazing view of the valley and lots of birds if you wake up early. When clouds disperse, you can see the Pacific and the Gulf of Nicoya. Mesmerizing. Budget some time to just drink in the scenery. Hospitality: Jose is a hands on host and is responsive to your every need. Getting breakfast hand delivered to you in the morning by his Mom was a highlight every morning. Location: Perfect. On the edge of Monteverde, close to Curi Cancha reserve and the Monteverde Cloud Forest park and many attractions that we missed. Walking distance to restaurants and a nice supermarket. Just to give american travelers an idea of the cabins themselves, they are very similar to state park cabins. Rustic and out there. We had a comfortable stay there.

Greeted by name when i arrived.Comfortable room close to Curi Cancha and a waterfall. Walkable to restaurants and the Centro Commercial for the bus, about 1k. Family run, and breakfast was served in my room at a scheduled time. I liked the place a lot. Great view from a small covered viewing area.

We believe it’s family owned. Very friendly and helpful if you need anything. The area is a little secluded which is nice and quiet. Step out of your room and a great view is waiting for you. I was told during the dry season, the sunset will be right in front of you. Place is comfortable. No AC, then again, just open your windows to let the air in. You’re on top of a mountain anyway. Not sure if it’s the rainy season, but there were bugs outside. Turn off your lights so they don’t come to your door. Breakfast was delivered to our rooms in the morning. Overall, would stay again if ever. It’s also a 5minute or less drive to the town.

Jose' was super helpful with anything we needed. Johnny of the spot. View is nice around the area with really good restaurants within walking distance. The sleeping area could use a lamp. The overhead lights are a bit harsh for that area. There were a couple dogs that would be barking late into the night sometimes,10-11:30 PM .
