Nice new hotel. Parking lot is a bit too small and there is a lot of road noise depending on what side of the hotel your room is on. Otherwise a pleasant experience.

We stayed there 7/1-7/4/2023. This was our first stay in this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. The front desk, housekeeping and the breakfast staff were all very friendly and approachable. The lady at the front desk in the evening and the breakfast attendant stood out the most as being friendly, helpful and welcoming. The property is well maintained and clean. Bathrooms were nice and clean. I was surprised they provided Dove toiletries like, hand wash, lotion, body wash, shampoo and conditioner in every bathroom (we rented 3 rooms). The beds were comfortable, pillows good and the bedding was nice and clean. They provided adequate amount of towels which were soft, good quality and smelled clean! There are no microwaves in the rooms but each had a mini fridge. The property is located in an easily accessible area with walking distance to Walgreens, dollar tree, and two gas stations. The breakfast was good, they provided Jimmy Dean sandwiches, little omelets, egg muffins, juice, fruits, yogurt, fresh fruit, muffins and cereal. Freshly ground coffee available all day long. The only thing I wasn’t happy about (was my fault) I didn’t notice when I booked that there is NO POOL! Overall I was very pleased with our stay.

Lack of parking.

Very immaculate inside and out. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Very impressed with Coffe service in the lobby. The coffee was fresh ground and brewed per cup so there was never a stale cup of coffee. This was unuque

super clean hotel....loved the bedding...the breakfast was ok...the AC unit was kind of noisy and we had to park next to a dumpster...need more parking....but would definitely stay there again...

Another great stay. Avid is a great place to stay when you are looking for someplace clean and affordable. We spend almost no time in our room other than sleep and shower, so simple and well maintained is perfect for our needs. 24 hr. coffee, simple grab and go breakfast. Staff is friendly.

Best hotel I have ever stayed in. Super clean, quiet an accommodating. The gym had very impressive equipment as well. The breakfast bar was basic but satisfactory. Coffee and tea available 24/7. I will definitely book with them in the future!

It was a nice hotel because it was brand new but wish the rooms were bigger and had a pool.

No pool and parking lot hard to find spaces and not easy to access. Place is new and very clean and staff was friendly

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to request a refund for a recent stay at The Downtown Ocala Hotel in Ocala, Florida. My friend and I came back to the hotel the second night, May 9, to discover cockroaches in our third floor room. We immediately informed the people at the front desk. One of the employees said they would not help us, but the other one came up to our room. Upon determining that the cockroaches were under the bed, the employee said they couldn't do anything to help us, including offering us a new, clean room for the night, or a refund. We ended up leaving and not staying that night. I emailed the property the following day about the incident, and unfortunately didn't hear back from them. I later followed up with a phone call, and was informed they did receive my email; which means they chose to ignore it. They proceeded to inform me, I would need to contact expedia, regarding a refund for the incident. I am requesting a refund for the second night our stay, for $111.55, as we couldn't use the room that night. Please let me know how this issue can be resolved. Thank you.

Five Star Look like a new hotel Everything so clean

*Roaches crawling around from late evening throughout the night. Tried to switch rooms and was told nothing is available. It was so late and because of a conference in town rooms were scarce or over priced so we couldn't change hotels. *I was also told they would not give reimbursement on room because I booked thru Hotels.com. They wouldn't call Hotels.com or anything to help with the situation. *Two front desk clerks were so very rude and disrespectful. It was so obvious they hated their work. Rooms are bare minimum necessities. *Average cleanliness. Floors needed to be swept. *Light fixture didn't work and the lamp was not secured properly. *The plug outlets in the room didn't work. I found one outlet and we bought an extension cord ($10) so we could charge phones on each side of bed. *Pull down shad - there was a shade pulled down in the room as shown in picture but the bright street lights came thru it. I called to ask about since there are no curtains. Response....all we have is the shade. No offer of any other info or assistance in blocking the light. *Aside from all that, the hotel is on a main strip in Ocala and all the younger adults were running the streets, revving their engines, police sirens constantly. *Floors are very hollow sounding so every step we made or people above us made...we sounded like elephants walking. *The breakfast served was ...you guess it.....Bagels, donuts, toast & coffee!

Dirty, roaches on the floor

The first night we found 2 roaches in our room on the 1st floor, the next morning there were 2 more roaches. We asked to move out of the room so the staff moved us to the 3rd floor

Nice in general but the room was musty and had a cockroach on the floor when I got into the room. Looked like it was a really fast clean and not detailed clean. The corners of the counter had hair etc. Hotel has good potential just looks like it has low cleaning standards

This is a brand new hotel in an area of Ocala. It is a nice, clean hotel for this area. Breakfast was quick and delicious for hotel guests. I appreciate the staff’s hospitality, attention to cleanliness.

Great hotel for the value! Clean and comfortable rooms. Very minimalist style. Very good place for the traveler who wants a nice night's sleep and easy check-in/check-out. Make sure you get an inside room bc the street is extremely noisy at night.

Well, the property seems brand new, there was absolutely no noise insulation

Checkin was fine. Quick and friendly. Beds very comfortable. Thermostat in the room was very confusing to all of us and we were freezing all night long.

The only complaint would be the A/C in the room was making a lot of noise through out the night.

The hotel is basic, very clean but basic. Front desk lady was not very nice, looked like she hated her job. Common areas very cold. Rooms clean and basic. We had 2 queens Room has to not a desk chair. No closet only wall hooks, very small me ni fridge, no microwave. Beds very comfy. HOWEVER, pillows are way to soft and feel almost feather down, don't be fooled. Whatever material will make you sweat even though we had ac on 67 only head sweat all 3 nights Had us up each night by 3 am. Couldn't go back to sleep. Also very busy roads in both sides of building, very loud. Breakfast was continental with microwave breakfast. sandwich. Front desk staff unpleasant did not even say thank you upon check out. Will not say again

The hotel was very clean and modern. Unfortunately I was right by a major road and was kept awake most of the night by traffic noise. On top of that I could hear the guy next door snoring and a TV in a room down the hall blazingly loud until about 1 am

Nice property. Clean and updated. The only negative was the thin walls between rooms. Our neighbors were very loud.

It is a nice hotel. The hotel is clean and the staff is very professional. There are no microwaves in the rooms, but there is a microwave in the lobby.

The front desk young lady was not real friendly (they have been on previous visits). This was a different front desk person. The person that was there at checkout was great! Our room did not get cleaned at all during our three night stay! My husband had to go down to the front desk and ask for clean towels. It was extremely loud at night (outside). You could hear the traffic, loud cars and motorcycles !

I stayed there twice (2x overnight therefore 2 charges should have been made via Expedia). Upon arrival, a $50 charge was required (for incidentals) which is standard. After reviewing my statements, there were *3* $50 charges (“incidentals”) from the hotel. I called the hotel to get them removed. The assistant manager (who is extremely rude) yelled at me on the phone and argued claiming that I was wrong and it was a hold and I did not have three charges and to call my bank. Um, I have snapshots. I def have three. I called my bank. They also verified. PS the lady hung up on me too and I hope the call was recorded. I am calling corporate today and put in a complaint because I seriously hope the auth is lifted and transactions are reversed (technically the second one is fraud… but we won’t go there…).

8-30 Other than the front desk blonde lady leaving out to smoke a cigarette and talk on the phone. Leaving me there for over 10 mins to do that. Then came back in still on the phone. That was very unprofessional and tacky. But other than that my stay was great.

Alicia was the desk clerk and was the most unpleasant individual that I have encountered in a long time. I will not be staying at this property again.

This hotel was unexpectedly outstanding. I have read the reviews bad and good and not knowing the name avid or IHG I had my guard up. When arriving it was late, around 3:31am and the day of check out . I was there only for a day but none the less when entering the clean and quiet lounge we were greeted with welcoming smile and polite gentleman. He was fast and efficient. 2 hours before check out I asked these two lovely women who were delightfully helpful and knowledgeable they were able to accommodate our late check out the staff is well groomed in customer service :) The hotel was an unexpected bliss . Clean lobby , hallways and rooms . Pillows and beds were basically a spa treatment . This hotel and amenities are simply amazing and It had me feel like an extravagant hotel stay for a low cost . I highly recommend it ! Will stay again .

The staff was very friendly. My son slammed his finger in the car door and the front desk staff was very accommodating and helpful in assisting with a first aid kit.

On 6/29 I arrived at The Avid in Ocala Florida at 10:20 p.m. Upon arriving after a 7-hour drive with my dog, I was met with hostility and disrespect by both the front desk staff and the manager during check-in. I remained calm throughout the entire interaction, yet I was repeatedly talked over, dismissed, and ultimately told I had to leave. When I explained how the treatment made me feel as a Black woman—dehumanized and unwelcome—the staff became defensive and invalidating, with the manager making dismissive remarks about her children being Black as a way to deflect any responsibility. Following the instructions of an Expedia representative, I returned to the hotel to request a refund and resolution. Instead of helping, the manager escalated the situation, falsely accused me of refusing to pay, and banned me from the property altogether. I was given no opportunity to resolve the situation. As a result, I was left without a room, a refund, or a safe place to stay. This experience was not only humiliating and discriminatory—it was also retaliatory and deeply unethical. I am requesting the following: • A full refund for the room I was denied. • A formal investigation into the conduct of the manager and staff involved. • A written acknowledgment of the situation and steps being taken to prevent this from happening to other travelers. No one should have to endure this kind of treatment, especially when they are simply trying to access a service they have paid for.

Property is new and is clean. The rooms are adequate, albeit a bit austere. Downside is road noise.

Turn into property was dangerous because their was no left turn lane, easy to get rear-ended.

Love that it was brand new. The room was excellent, bathroom was superb. The noise from cars down both streets (the hotel is at a busy intersection) was very, very noticeable.

The property is clean and nice, and check in was easy. The area was not quite as expected....its not a very walkable area. We were expecting to be in a nice downtown that we could walk around in.....and that was not the case.

Our stay was great! Room and facility are clean and upgraded. All staff were nice and very helpful. Very close to hospitals which is what we needed but be aware if you are seeking a quiet location. Would stay here again!

Hotel, room, and staff were fine. It is located at a busy intersection and it was noisy all night. Loud trucks, motorcycles, police and fire vehicles. Heard it all.

Everything was ok, the only thing I don’t gave them a 5 star is because they serve the same stuff for breakfast every day. I love omelettes but after three days…

Bedding and bed were super comfortable. Breakfast was boring but sufficient. Coffee was great. Comparable to other newer/ modern hotels. Room small but totally fine for two people. No coffee in room but short walk to always fresh coffee. Cost was average with competitors. Absolutely would stay again.

The property was fairly new and well maintained. The Breakfast wasn't that appealing. I would have liked to have had fresh eggs and bacon or sausage.

Great stay and their coffee is excellent!

Pros: -Sparkling clean: one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've ever seen. -Very comfortable bed. Cons: -Noise: Lots of noise from the hallway (mostly the doors slamming shut) and from the adjacent road. -Breakfast: Breakfast is supposed to be 7-10am on Saturday. I arrived at 9:40 and there were no sandwiches available. I grabbed the last bagel. Others arrived after me to not even get a bagel. By 9:50 the attendant shut down the juice area and hauled off the oatmeal toppings.

The hotel is very new. The rooms are very clean. They have a very good breakfast with hard boiled eggs available and breakfast sandwiches on the go. My only complaint is that the vanity light in the bathroom could be much brighter as it was difficult to shave and see your face.

This is a great value - great accommodations for the price. I think this was my first stay at an avid Hotel and I will definitely do so again. Also, the breakfast was really amazing, there was a a wide variety of foods.
