We had the most peaceful, lovely stay. Housekeeping cleaned our room every day. The pool was the perfect temp. The view was incredible. We will be back next year!

This was a well kept motel like we used to stay in on cross country trips. The grounds were beautiful, the pool was in excellent shape, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was everything we were looking for after a long hike in the Smokies.

Host was super nice. Explained everything very well about the room. Older style rooms but we enjoyed them. Love that its is on the hill. Great views from the balcony. Pool was nice, outdoor with baby pool.

It was adequate for a 1 night stay. Dated inside and out. Balcony room was over inner parking lot. Pool was cold and not very clean. We liked the location and walkability. Continental breakfast was lacking.

Will definitely stay again. Room was immaculate from floors to bathroom to pristine white bedding. Not a spot or stain to be found including the towels which were plentiful. No unpleasant disinfectant odor. Always fresh & pleasant. Housekeeping came in every day. Very quiet. Private balcony to sit & relax. Staff wonderful, gracious & helpful. Continental breakfast had nice assortment. Only suggestion is an adjustable spray shower head. Wonderful stay. Can't say enough good things about Highland Manor Inn.

The room was not as clean as it should have been and had a musty smell. Other than that, the room was pretty nice and we were able to air it out. As is typical, breakfast was marginal with low quality baked goods. LOTS of styrofoam ... so the motel managers have ZERO environmental consciousness.

Quaint hotel/inn. Rooms still have physical keys which was a throwback. Quite dated in styling but it’s not a knock against the place. Room was quiet unless a vehicle with a loud exhaust came by but that’s just due to the layout. Slept well and I was comfortable. Only real negative was the booking situation for me. I booked the room through Hotels.com and it seems it allowed me to do so on an expired credit card. Now, the Highland did call stating as such since they needed to put a deposit down (odd … no mention of this on the booking page - I almost always opt to present my card and pay when I get to a stay). Over the phone, I gave the person who called the updated expiration date and the code. Thinking everything was complete since I did not get a call back, I thought I was set. Till I tried to check in when I arrived. They didn’t have my reservation. On their system, it was listed as cancelled. Now, I’m not sure if it’s a training problem or the booking system they’re using is new to them but I was disappointed. They did have a lesser room which they offered to me at unfortunately a higher cost than the room I originally booked. I was already there and I was going to let it ruin my trip but I will probably pass on booking there again. If they made things right from the rip, I’m sure I would have made a more positive review even with the booking issue.

Really enjoyed our stay with clean room with hot tub, majestic views of smokies from balcony and easy access to Cades cove. Loved this place. Rooms were clean, Hosts were super helpful and friendly.

Our room had a fire place. We did not use it but when we check in and entered our room it smelled like soot! We had to open windows and air it out for the first to days. I had a car freshener in my car that I bought into the room. I purchased a candle near by and turned it on in the room. Things were better by the third day.

The hotel room itself was nice. However, the shower curtain was missing. I brought it to the attention of the lady at the front desk. She was rude about it. She was also replacing food on the breakfast bar without using any gloves or utensils as to not directly touch the food that the guests were eating.

Never booked this property. Called to dispute and was told “sorry shows you books so we charged a night for no show”. Absolutely terrible customer service and total refusal to help resolve the issue!

Great stay. The staff are superb, friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The hotel is a little older but has been kept in great shape. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This was one of only a couple rooms left in the area the night we came through town due to some sort of event down the street. I was a bit concerned due to the age of the property and pictures were not super great. But it was available and we took it. So glad we did! Yes, the property is older but in well maintained condition. Easy parking directly in front of our room. The desk clerk, Christy, was stellar! Friendly, gave a great dinner suggestion, and offered her assistance with anything we might need. She was friendly, efficient and just a lovely individual! The room was clean and no frills but very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the water pressure in the bathroom I wish I could take home with me! Seriously. It’s amazing. I would stay here again any time and you should to. Family owned place beats hotel chains hands down. Breakfast is included but we did not have any as we had food to use up ourselves. At checkout, Christy asked if we liked the dinner (she remembered!) and thanked us for coming. Don’t overlook this little gem!

Extremely clean property. The lady at the front desk was so kind and explained many activities and restaurants close to the hotel. We had a great stay and will be back. Highly recommend this property and the city of Townsend.

The property was clean with a friendly staff. Great restaurant across the street called Abbey. The only thing I did not like about it was that we were advised that we could not move to a bottom floor because we had book with Expedia and not the hotel itself.

A clean and quiet hotel close to the Great Smoky Mountains entrance and the Tuckaleechee Caverns. Staff was very helpful and respectful. If you are looking for a peaceful place to stay and to be close to nature, you would enjoy it as much as we did.

Very convenient to GSMNP and good dining options nearby. Hotel sits up on a hill and provides nice views of the mountains. If you want to check out early, you need to advise front desk the night before; otherwise, checkout is not possible until 8am. McKayla was very friendly and welcoming. Hot chocolate in the lobby during evenings is a nice treat. The grounds are pretty and though the hotel is older, it is well-maintained, and we definitely would stay here again.

Quiet little Inn/Motel. Only stayed one night but the location is great to get to Smokey Mountain National Park. The rooms were very clean, lots of towels and beds were nice. The breakfast wasn’t anything special, but it was continental and free so can’t complain. Playground was nice for kids (there’s a small pool too but we didn’t use it). Overall we were very happy with our short stay and would stay again.

We arrived here for a quick stay before heading to Cade's Cove the next morning. It was very close to Cades cove, about a 20 minute drive. We did not get a chance to use the pool, however it looked nice! Room was clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful! They allowed me to use their printer to print a parking pass so we didn't have to wait for the Visitor's Center to open. Breakfast consisted of muffins and pastries, cereal, oatmeal, hard boiled eggs, and coffee, juice, and milk. A nice, quiet, enjoyable stay! Our room had a pretty view of the mountains in the distance.

This is my third year staying at the Highland Manor Inn for the Smoky Mountain Scottish Festival and Games. The rooms are clean and fairly large. The staff is friendly and efficient. The continental breakfast is good.

Overall it was a great convenient one-night quick stay for us. Convenient location in Townsend. Room was clean and comfortable. Only minor gripe was that it would've been nice to get a heads-up that they apparently stop their breakfast service a half-hour early on Sundays, as we didn't see that stated anywhere so missed the breakfast when we came down at the time that was posted.

Pluses: The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Room was adequate, though a bit dated. Minuses: The property was not quite as nice as we expected based on the listing. Our “private balcony with “mountain view” was a tiny cement space with a view of the motel sign and the road. The breakfast had no healthy options—no fruit, no real fruit juice, only white bread and sweet pastries.

The room was small but comfortable and clean. The bed was comfortable. We were in the older building and although the decor is outdated, everything was comfortable. Our room faced away from the road so it was quiet. Continental breakfast was minimal. Don't know if staying in the newer building would have been different.

What a gem. We enjoyed our stay here very much. Our room was very large and comfortable. Lots of hot water/great water pressure from the shower. We especially appreciated the plentiful towels and attentive daily housekeeping. Property is quiet and peaceful, and the front desk staff team was great. Breakfast is simple/continental but fresh and promptly replenished. While it’s an older property, the immaculate rooms and outstanding service are on par with high end hotels. The management and staff take great care in all aspects of your stay. Highly recommend.

Nice place to stay. Friendly staff and very clean in general. The only thing I would change is breakfast hours. They start serving at 8 am, but for those who like to start the day very early or go on a hike, you either have to spend extra money at another place to eat breakfast or just eat snacks.
