Metro Extended Stay - Tempe - 2 Full Beds

To anyone looking at renting a room at the Southern & Price, Tempe AZ location, please reconsider. My husband & I were excited to find an inexpensive place near family & locations we planned to visit, however upon arrival thst quickly changed! The advertised pictures were not what we got! Our room smelled like an old basement, there was mold along the top of the shower wall, the couch was missing an end piece ( looked like it was part of a sectional), the refrigerator/ freezer smelled and there was a loud barking dog 4 doors down.Fortunately family lived nearby and we were able to get some cleaning supplies. As we checked in late there was no one at the front desk to speak with. Our 2nd night we returned and witnessed a fight between 2 men in the parking lot who seemed very intoxicated. There was security at the front desk but he said he would only respond if they approached the entrance. This was definitely a lesson in "you get what you pay for."

Do NOT stay there!!!! I booked through a third party and paid their required deposit. Apparently the deposit was non-refundable! Which was not mentioned prior to. I had been contacting then for weeks and they are giving me the run around instead of just refunding my deposit! I will be reporting their business by end of business week. UPDATE: It has been months now and they are just responding and just to say to fix my review or it won't be posted! Still no refund by the way!

This Vrbo is an old converted hotel and felt as such. You get your own space, but the walls are kind of thin and the amenities are similar to a hotel but without the breakfast. The location was great as it is close to the highway. There was often the smell of sewage in the entry way; the room always smelled fine. Our shower curtain was partially fallen and the toilet had been shifted off of the original caulking. There was not an abundance of extra blankets or pillows and what linens were present were not luxurious. The place was sufficient and the pool was nice for the kids to play in. It’s good enough.

Place was as advertized. I would note in the future that there was an above average amount of street noise due to proximity of residence to off ramp.

The condo only had one fork, spoon, and knife. The water never got hot. The pillows were very thin and uncomfortable.
