The staff was terrific but under new management so there were lots of surprises. Pool and water options closed, unexpected new charges of $15 per night for parking, no screens on the patio door so the room full of flies, no upgrades to ac and kitchenette (the ac was loud and blew dirty air) and a tree on one side of the property bangs on the roof gutter so loudly we didn’t get any sleep the first night and had to change rooms). Years ago this was a great place, but with lack of upgrades and proper maintenance has gone downhill. We will not stay here again,

The resort was sufficient to our needs. The room was clean, staff was attentive, and the resort is within walking distance of the beach, restaurants and convenience stores. The kitchen needs some updating as it's a bit rusted but still works perfectly. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the pool area is open to everyone who's not even a guest at the resort. For 2 nights out of the 4 that we stayed there, there were kids making such a racket on the pool at 8pm, slamming their pool noodle on the water that makes it sound like fireworks and turns out they were not even staying there. Our room happened to be next to the pool . We spoke to the front desk on duty and the response we got was "Sorry, they're kids but we're going to close the pool in 30 minutes." Another hotel guest was making the same complaint and not sure if the front desk on duty spoke to the kids or the parents of the kids about the noise they're making. Book a room on the upper levels to lessen the noise if you can. All the rooms face the pool so the noise is unavoidable.

Stood here for a weekend (Friday - Sunday). Arrived Friday night around 10:30pm to parking lot completely full. Waited 30 mins for a parking spot. Saturday night same problem no parking at all. Had to park my car in the fire lane over night. Totally unacceptable for the price i paid to stay there for a weekend to have to worry about parking.

I liked the ability to walk to the beach and bay easily. Multiple coffee options nearby. I was surprised by the "resort" fee at check in. Additional $ to cover parking, pool (which was not open yet and scummy), and some games out back that we didn't play. Perhaps that fee was mentioned on the description and we missed it.

Clean room, great location, comfortable bed. Its an older facility but kept well. I loved the dock off the back bay. Easy walk to the ocean. Our room only had a mini fridge (no freezer) so not really able to bring food to cook. Kitchenette is very tiny with no counter space. Pool is not heated, so we were not able to enjoy that amenity.

Not fancy but clean enough and dog- friendly! Beautiful pier out to the bay with chairs! A quick convenient walk to the beach! Very small area for pets to relieve themselves, this was a bit of a challenge. Cannot beat the location!

Very good location and staff very nice. Room clean but issues: holes in shower curtain- no liner, flickering bathroom lights, sliding glass door handle broken, very thin rough towels. Nothing mentioned about no elevator so did not expect to carry bags up to the third floor. Very nice view of lake from room

The room was horrible. It was not cleaned in the bathroom. There’s hair in the sink here in the bathtub and sand on the floor. I even found a hair tie on the sink in the bathroom. It was so late when we got there we were exhausted No other rooms for us to move so we got stuck there

The room was filthy. Hair all over the bathroom, soiled carpet, broken and moldy ceiling tiles. Horrible experience and $450 a night. Crazy. Thankful it was only one night.

The property and area outside by the bay are nice and peaceful. The rooms could use some updates though. The bathroom tub was dirty and felt like we were going to drop through it. The room itself was not very clean, I had to clean a bit when we checked in because there was sand on the dresser and tile floor, and the tv screem was smeared with something. We had a nice stay but would look elsewhere next time.

I would honestly say this hotel needs many updates for the price we paid in Oct. No water pressure at all, chairs had stains on them. Bathroom was not properly cleaned on arrival. If your looking for a place to lay your head and there are no other options….come to the Bay Resort.

For Dewey Beach, I realize my options for a clean, quiet room under $340 are limited. I booked 1 night at the Bay Resort. I appreciate the hotel having quiet hours but with the walls so thin, we could tell our neighbors had a child, and we could hear ALL of their conversations. The balcony view was marred by a 6 foot fence so views were so so. We did not bother attempting to bathe in our room’s shower since it was clear it had not been washed in sometime (based on the footprints) and there was a large crack in the tub as well. The room had an old kitchenette, with plates that weren’t filthy but not exactly clean either. The mini fridge was delicate but kept our drinks cool. The beds and pillows were comfy and the sheets were nice and clean. Very friendly staff. If you plan on parking at the resort, it is $16.19. Lastly, the location is superb. Bottle and cork is literally just up the road, and Northbeach was a mere 30 steps from the Resort property. It’s important to note that this place does NOT have an elevator, so room options for those who cannot go up stairs are limited. I would recommend reaching out to the resort to see if you can request a 1st floor room. Pros: Friendly staff Mini convenience store section in lobby Comfortable, clean beds Kitchenette with a fridge Cons: Dirty Walls are paper thin Bathtub was filthy and cracked No lotion No elevators

To say that our night at Bay Resort was unsatisfactory is an understatement. For starters, they charged us another $16.41 on top of Expedia’s posted price. It had been our understanding that Expedia’s bottom line is guaranteed, but Bay Resort’s check-in person insisted that their surcharge be paid before they would honor our reservation. After lugging our stuff up the shabby cement stairs, past old coin-operated washers and dryers situated out in the corridor, we opened the door to our third floor room and were shocked to see trash on the floor, as well as shards of broken glass on the beds. After taking that in we were not surprised that the room had not been cleaned at all, with dirty, wet towels piled on the bathroom sink. Rather than contend with the desk clerk for a refund after a long day we accepted a substitute room, where our only significant surprise was a bathroom fan that sounds like a garbage disposal. Unless all of this sounds good to you, we recommend looking elsewhere for lodging in the area.

I spent three nights at this hotel with my wife and 3 year old son. We tried to make the best of it because of the great service and the convenient location, but ultimately we were disappointed with the condition of our room. It was a poolside king efficiency on the first floor. The bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned and the stove was dirty. Some of the tiles around the front door were missing or cracked. The sliding glass door facing the pool did not lock well and the rod that was available to secure it was incredibly difficult to adjust. We booked our room because the hotel had great ratings, but our room in particular left a lot to be desired. It got to the point where my wife was actually uncomfortable unpacking. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Room was decent comfy beds,house keeping could have been much better. Stood for two day never saw a housekeeper, only on the day I was leaving. They were their an hour before checkout, so they can clean room for next person.

This is a more affordable place to stay in Dewey with beautiful views of the Bay, in walking distance to all the action. I can tell they made some upgrades to the pool area since I last stayed here, and hopefully they will continue to make some improvements to the rooms. I'm sure lots of water and sand trek through the carpets and it is starting to show, and the refrigerator was chipped all over the front and seemed to be spray painted poorly. This made a nice place with good people feel cheap. Overall a nice place that i hope continues to improve.

Rooms are dated and things need to be fixed. It was fine but I won’t stay again. The best thing is the bay view and the pool. Kitchenette was super old. Not all burners worked. Shower had stains. Many things were not stocked. The staff would do their best to respond but they didn’t always understand what we needed due to language barriers.

The beds were very comfortable and clean. The room itself is a little dated and falling into disrepair, but that's expected with age. A lot of places to walk to, the beach is about a 5 minute walk which is not bad.

Nice pool, nice staff, nice location on bay. However our room had no outdoor seating at all. We were poolside, so we were not expecting a view of the bay, but all we had was a single chair and a view of other people’s outdoor seating. Rooms were also very dated. Beds were fine though.

The views on the bayside are amazing at this super friendly, fabulous place to stay in Dewey! Walkable to everywhere & everything. The pool is super clean as are the rooms. But the very best part is the helpful, attentive, above & beyond staff. Everyone including front desk, housekeeping & maintenance are available & happy to help. Really would like to keep this hotel a secret for fear I won’t be able to get reservations. But it’s too hard not to share

This property gave us issues from the start! We arrived and waited two hours for a 4:00 check-in. The manager gave us a room key finally and we lugged all of our heavy bags (which included heavy work gear) to the third floor to find out that the room was not yet cleaned. So we went back downstairs to the lobby and were given another room, lugged our things back up to the second floor to find a WHOLE FAMILY in that room. So back down to the lobby, we went. The manager (Eric) got mad at us for requesting our room key again ad THREATENED to kick us out because we were bothering him. We finally got to another room and there were stains throughout the bed and the shower was not cleaned. On top of that, we paid for a room with a private balcony and the room we received had a shared balcony with two other rooms. This wouldn't have been an issue if our "neighbors" weren't blasting music through the night and screaming mere inches from our door. Overall, I will never pay another dime to this place and would not recommend it.

This place was great! Many restaurants a block away. Beach is two blocks away but if you don’t want to walk you can just sit at the back of he hotel enjoying the bay!! Front desk staff, Saricka Bailey, was amazing! She went above and beyond to accommodate us… long story of camping plans that fell through. When I booked another room at 2am, she was able to make sure we could combine the reservations to stay in the same room for both days and even got us early check in!! This was our first time in Dewey beach and we would come back to the Bay Resort!

Great staff, let us in early due to being off season.Excellant view of sunset. Nice dock with chairs at the end to sit in. The lady at the front desk was very nice. We will be coming back again to stay.

Very rude staff-the front desk agent this morning was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. I did complain my room was filthy- the so called blackout drape was so faded, you could see through it. It was replaced and a sturdier rod. Unbelievable- I could go on. Do not stay here. The only good thing about this place is the bay view, which I heard had flooded the bottom floor rooms-my room had a terrible mold smell…

The best thing was the location, right on the bay (we had a view from our balcony) and 2 blocks from the beach. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they allow pets. Lots of close restaurants/nightlife/shops, but fairly quiet at the same time. The room was clean and bed comfortable (not new or luxury, but decent fixtures/furniture/appliances). Stairs/hallways could have been cleaner (though they are outside). Appliances worked well (though we didn't use the stove/oven).

Our favorite thing about the hotel was the view from our balcony. It was so peaceful and it was the perfect place to watch the sunset over the bay. The location was perfect - once you parked, there was no need to use your car again. The Ocean was 2 short blocks away and there was a great assortment of restaurants in walking distance. Some of the faciliy is a bit dated, but it was clean and the staff was super nice and helpful. We will be returning!
