The heated swimming pool was nice. There is a small but adequate gym.

Liked having and using pool. didn't realize there would be a swimming lesson going on at same time. As this was a quick stop over on our way to Bar Harbor, it fit our needs. Since the room was on the street side it was a bit noisy even with fan running all the time. The room was clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the breakfast which was included.

Advertise that there is a resturaunt and bar. It’s only open Thur-Fri and from outside looks run down and unkept! The freezer was caked with frost and ice machines were not working on all floors. TV was small and with dish the channels were limited and fuzzy. I was very disappointed for my R and R night!

The salt water pool was awesome! Would have liked it a little bit warmer. Breakfast was great, eggs, sausage, English muffins, bagels coffee,tea, waffles, fruit, cereal, juice! Rooms were spacious with fridge. Would highly recommend

This hotel is modern and provides as close to a full breakfast as you could get under the heading of "continental". The room was spacious and clean. My one complain was the overall design of the building. First, like us, everyone had to drive around both sides of the building to find the office which is in the back. Signage would have been nice. Second, the halls are like a maze. Once we figured it out - fine, but it took a while, especially since the parking is not close to the elevator to go up to the 3rd floor. The room itself was spacious and nice.

Amenities: business center totally unacceptable-1980's computers not up to the task of printing out airline boarding passes. Hotel is very dated and is in need of a serious update.

Fitness center poor. Only 3 machines, 1 didn’t work. Weight bench but no weights. Very limited healthy breakfast options. But staff was pleasant, room was clean.

Staff and facilities were good. However, the security was very lax. Door number 6 was left open all the time. I complained twice at night and I was told it was being fixed. When I complained again this morning, I was told it wouldn’t be fixed for two weeks. I really didn’t feel safe.

DO NOT STAY HERE. I have NO idea where these positive reviews are coming from - LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE ONES. This place is Disgusting with a D. Unkempt. Smelled so bad. The floor I stayed on smelled horribly musty and like it had been smoked in for years. There was visible mold on the ceiling in the hallway and the door across from me had a patch on it from where it looked like it had once been kicked in. My room itself was musty and the air conditioning was weirdly humid even though it wasn't humid at all outside and blew directly on my face from the side of the room all night. The refrigerator froze my gatorade. The pool was chilly - definitely not kept to 80 degrees like they claimed. My card key stopped working and I went down to the front desk at 7:20am to get it fixed while the employee at the lobby hit her vape pen - she was nice, but then had no idea if it was okay if I left without checking out in person and I never got a firm answer. I was so worried about getting bed bugs that my friend who got a hotel outside of New Haven let me come stay with them for the second night instead. NOT worth the price; In fact, you could pay me $100 a night to stay here and I wouldn't take it. Do yourself a huge favor and if you have to get a hotel, do it somewhere outside of Old Saybrook if you can. From talking with friends who come here often, there seems to be a lack of good and moderately affordable hotels in the area and this hotel is definitely one you should avoid.

Its OK. Stains on hallway carpet floors, old dirty elevator, AC couldn't keep up with the heat wave we had. Room was clean. Security lock on back door by pool has not worked in a long time do to settling of the building. However, its priced much cheaper than others in town.

They claimed to have upgraded our room, but never checked to see that we were a party of 3. Then they gave us a room that wasn’t clean. Bathroom was disgustingly dirty. Will never go back again.

One of the beds was barely made. There was a stain on the curtains and hair in the sink. The bath tub was not clean.

The staff at the desk was pleasant and friendly. The rooms had stains/debris on drapes, ceiling, walls and side of toilet. The shower and vents were worn and had mold starting. The vents in the elevator were clogged with dust and bacteria.

Our room was soo disgusting. If I didn’t have a wedding to get ready for promptly after checking in, I absolutely would have asked for another room. The floors look like they hadn’t been vacuumed in ages, there was a big brown-ish stain on the shower floor and on the floor lamp, the room smelled like chemicals or something, etc. I have photos of everything. I can’t even believe it was $200+ for that nasty hotel room. I would never recommend this hotel or stay there again.

While the property was a bit outdated, the facility was clean and the pool was immaculate. The help at the front desk was prompt and friendly. The only complaints we had was the beds were a bit hard and the halls smelled a tad musty.

It has seen better days… needs a rehab but it sufficed for my trip which was just!!a place to sleep. Tried watching TV for several hours before bed and I couldn’t even watch the INFERIOR TV and antiquated service of about 10 channels that I didn’t even recognize! The TV was about 34” very small to see from the bed. Carpets were dirty . On a positive note the front desk staff was friendly and helpful.

I knew what I was getting into when I booked this room being the chain that it is. However, this property definitely is in need of some updates. Various different "smells" throughout the hotel covering up who knows what. TV"s in rooms are very small and limited local channels and the wifi fades in and out. Front desk staff seemed a bit salty at check in but warmed up after. It is what it is but could be a lot better with a little love and attention.

Booked queen beds and got full. Front desk was very dismissive and argued they were not full size. I measured the mattress and they were 6 inches short of a queen size. Front desk admitted lots of people complain but when purchased they were told they were queen. I pd for a queen got mattress that measured 4’6” width.

The room was clean, bed and pillows comfortable. A/C worked well. Plenty of on site parking

Staff rude from the get go. Requested extra pillows first day; upon checkout on fourth day still no pillows. Had to get own towels from desk. Rude and lazy breakfast person; fed other staff before making sure guests were taken care of. Limited crappy luggage carts. Old worn out room, serious need of upgrading. Too late to cancel so had to grin and bear it.

Caroline at the front desk, was amazing! There were 4 in our party, 6 or 7 in another group and another woman staying there came in for something. Caroline handled it perfectly. We had a problem with our Expedia check in. After she handled all of us. She took the time to call Expedia and fixed our check in. We appreciated all of her efforts!

Sadly, i don't expect much, but i do expect the staff to know something about the hotel, like how to get to my room. I expect keys to work, and when they don't, please don't give me a new one and say you hope it works. If you work at the hotel and see something gross in the hall, don't kick it aside and let it sit for 24+ hours. Stop telling me you meant to hang a sign on the broken ice maker and please, get a tv service that isn't like watching tv in the 70s with snow on every channel.

Check in was a disaster. They refused to let anyone check in before 3pm. There were multiple wedding parties so at 2:59pm there were 30 people trying to check in at once. It was awful. Not sure who calls the shots around here but they need to review their check in procedure.

I’ve stayed at this hotel 3 times this year, and everything has been very good. Rooms are clean. The people at the front desk have always been very pleasant and very helpful. The continental breakfast that they provide is also very good. I will continue to come to this hotel in the future.

I stayed for 3 nights and never received any housekeeping service. I had to make my bed and reuse towels. Additionally, EVERY time I tried to enter my room, my key didn't work. I had to walk down to the front desk 7 or 8 times during my stay to have my key reactivated (a 10 min. process). My key was placed in the console of my truck, so it wasn't demagnetized.

The cleaning staff was great but everything is old and dingy- poor lighting, old shower curtains, terrible pillows. I bought chips at their store-which smelled funky- they had expired 6 months earlier. Went back for another bag and everything was 6 months past expiration. The front desk said she called her manager and he apparently told her to keep them on the shelf because they were still there the next day. Disgusting and illegal. Will never go back

Good location for local activities. Nice to have breakfast included.

It right off a busy road and a curve so didnt feel safe foing to a walk by myself, but the property itself was decent size to strtch legs

This hotel is in a nice quiet area of Old Saybrook close to restaurants, shopping stores and Amtrak.

Ez access from I95. Ten minutes drive from Old Saybrook with excellent dining. Large room and very comfy bed. We enjoyed the pool and patio.

Quiet and close to the freeway. Not far from downtown Old Saybrook.

The hotel is very clean, decor is a bit dated and brown but very clean which is most important. Breakfast is limited on hot food just scambled egg and sausage. Cutlery is plastic knives and forks and paper plates.

The hot water wasn't how unfortunately and breakfast was lacking. Staff was great, rooms comfortable.

Our stay was just what we needed. Breakfast was full of choices and and plenty to eat and drink. A perfect stop in a lovely town.

Breakfast not until 7:00 am. No coffee available until breakfast room was open. Early waiting line. Keys only worked for a day. Worked on entrance but not on room entry. Bed and pillows were great. Not much bath counter space. Shower was very good.

Access to coffee needs attention. You really ought to invest in Keurig machines and half and half for in the room. I went downstairs to get coffee, and the antiquated machine did not work. Not a good way to start the day for those who rely on coffee to start the day. Most hotels at least have coffee available in the lobby.
