Check in and check out process was smooth. Staff was very courteous and cooperative. They kept our luggage in the locker before and after check in which was a huge convenience. The only thing that I could complain about is the mattresses which were not very comfortable. Overall, recommend for it’s amenities and proximity to subway station as well as shopping.

Location, location. Just outside the edge of the craziness of Shinjuku. For a "no frills" hotel, it exceeded our expectations. We had the triple bed room and it was clean, spacious and quiet. The toilet is to die for, and the room came with a kitchenette. 7/11 is 1 minute away and so is a full grocery store. The a/c was quiet and the hot water was consistent. Two small things we noted, but didn't change our opinion; there were no selves or drawers, and all the windows were frosted (they all faced brick walls of other buildings). We'd still recommend this hotel for a budget stay in the most popular part of Tokyo.

We had a great experience during our stay at City Hotel NUTS. Room was very clean, great size, but do not expect a good view. Amenities provided were great, except that they do not have a microwave. Staff were helpful and courteous. They speak a little english, but they use Google translator, so not much of a problem.

I have never left a bad review about a single place I have stayed at because there is always a positive. However this place actually disappointed us over and over again. The staff aren’t friendly and didn’t even greet us. They just spoke to us as if we were wasting their time and with attitude. The lady with the blonde short hair that checked us in was nice & helpful but every other staff we had met was unfriendly and had no smile on their face. When checking out, the receptionist didn’t even greet us and just held her hand out with no words. The room was not what it looked like at all on the pictures. We chose this room because it looked spacious compared to other hotels in Tokyo and the amenities. No jetted bathtub or seperate toilet and shower (which we purposely booked for as a group of three) as everything was in one & it was just an outdated bathtub with a shower head. Considering the price we paid, I was furious that the room wasn’t anything that it looked like on the photos. There was mould on the ceiling & there was a crack on the glass door and what looked like a blood stain on the curtains. The air conditioning/heater didn’t work which was so disappointing as the weather here is cold already. We stayed here for six nights and only once was the room cleaned which we had to go down and ask ourselves as they didn’t come even when our door didn’t have the don’t clean today sign. Honestly, I didn’t even want to leave a bad review but this is just a joke.
