We appreciated the location of this hotel. It was close to the Anne Frank House and the canals. We like that the tram station was a few feet away because we took the tram a lot! And it was only a 10 minute walk from the train station. The room was a fine size - not a lot of storage space for 2 suitcases. The bed was comfy. The bathroom sink did not have enough space and the water of the shower leaked out into the sinl space which is open to the room. Annoying but doable. What I did not like was the really bad lighting in the room and how dark the room was with the dark wallpaper. Practically speaking - the lighting was horrible for putting on makeup and blowdrying your hair. What we did love the best was at the end of the long day you could go into the breakfast room and enjoy beverages (beer, wine, cola) and snacks at the end of a busy day. It also gave us a chance to chat with other guests and talk about our daily activities. While I would not book this hotel again, it really was a fine place to stay - it fit our budget, was comfortable and clean, and offered a great location. Plus, we rented bikes 2 doors down. It is best to know how to ride a bike and the biking rules pretty well, don't be afraid to get them. We were only called "stupid tourists" once.
