Carolina Winds

Beach view. They didn’t have the room we requested but were accommodating even as busy as they were. We ended up with a room very similar to our room we’ve had several years in a row. Very friendly staff and non intrusive. Pool was cleaned daily and warm… condo was can and comfortable. The beds were comfortable. Decor was minimal tasteful and cute ☺️. Overall very satisfied with our stay.

WE could not get the phone to dial local numbers. We even called the front desk to find out to dial 9 first but it did not seem to work despite us trying everything. The place and pool were great.

One of the units we had was very nice the other one could use a little tlc.It was clean .we loved the pools and easy beach access.

The property is dated and could use some updates and paint but other than that the price and what you get for it is an excellent deal. Also there is no bar or eating establishment in this hotel.

Small issues with room but overall the room was good. Access to outside and inside pools along with an heated pool on inside which was great. Needs handrail in shower which is a safety concern. Updated decor and good service at front desk. Quiet, which means a lot to most people. B overall.

Unfortunately, the mold all over the room was an issue. We did have a room with a kitchenette, and you can tell they don't check on any of the kitchen items for cleanliness. We did have to *scrub* everything down before getting to use them; normally a simple wash and rinse would be expected. Damprid containers everywhere and the two dehumidifiers were full as we entered the room... so those clearly didn't get checked/emptied/replaced. We've stayed in rooms that have been hit with moisture before but you could tell the properties had maintained drying them out before placing back in renter use; they didn't seem too phased here and just said "you can't do much about that." Actuality, the last one we stayed at brought in a massive machine to pull water out of the room when we got hit with a unusually bad storm that flooded the room on top of discounting our stay for the inconvenience of them cleaning the room when we weren't even in it. The general floors outside of the room seem well kept, as was the main floor and the multitude of pools/hot tubs. The options for swimming were wonderful! It was one of the two main reasons we chose to stay there. The other was for the view, which was a bit of a letdown to learn that oceanview meant an angled view. Would be great to add the detail of being angled view on those particular rooms (which is the vast majority of them it seems). Last note: its next to public access and LOUD ice cream trucks come through NONSTOP nearly every 30min-1hr.

It was not over crowded at the time of our stay at the end of September - October. Facility grounds, pool was always clean. Onsite Restaurant closed. Many restaurants close by!! My family and l would stay here again!!

Close to beach. Staff was excellent. Really enjoyed the food at the bar and all the employees at the bar were exceptional. Highly recommend this hotel!

We had a great stay at Carolina Winds. Always parking spots available, no noise complaints (which is usually an issue at hotels), friendly staff and well maintained. Very pleased with our visit!

The Ammenities and property were great, it’s in a prime location right next to the beach with nice pools and hot tubs. Only complaint is the cleanliness and smell of the room. The room had a musty smell, the plumbing sucked, and the toilet, floors and fridge all needed to be re cleaned when we got there. We found outside insects in our room. If you’re staying here, recommend keeping your shoes on and not walking around barefoot.

We spend 5 days here and were very dissapointed. Exstremely dirty. The apartment smelled of a mix of wet dog,old cheese and pee. Floor was so dirty that we kept our shoes on. Linned and madras on beds was full of stains,looked allmost alive. Dresser was almost falling apart. There was trash from previous renter and old coffe and beans with mold in the coffepot, fridge did’nt look like you wanted to keep food in it. We where told it was a smokefree hotel and the only place you where allowed to smoke was in the parking area but there was cigarettebutts in flowerpots with sandfill around the pool ?

Although conveniently located, it is not very clean.

Our bed had stain on it, room had moldy smell, floor had sands when walking we can feel it.

Our room was NOT clean. There were bodily hairs all over the bathroom when we got there. Trash on the floor beside the beds. Trash under the beds. The dishes looked like they’d never been cleaned. The rest of the building was clean, our room was just not.

The property is a little run down. The staff was amazing though. The pool was immaculate!! I even told the maintenance team it was! Now to our room. I wish I could say the same. The first thing we noticed was how sandy and dirty the floor was. Then we noticed all of the hair in the bathroom (disgusted). After I swept the room and cleanes the floor with cleaner I bought at the grocery store we thought we were ok. Then we started to notice the musty and moldy smell. The air conditioning was not on when we entered the room but after a few hours of it being on we noticed the smell. We thought it was just because it was off and it would go away. After going to bed in the beds that squeaked all night we still noticed the smell. We decided we better leave the room and go home two days early for our health. (I have asthma) This is an honest assessment of our stay do with it what you will.

They need to upgrade the interiors,the condo we stayed had shower drain problems but is because ist was full of hair ,construction materials were under de bed and lights and ceiling fan were not working properly. When we checked in, we were not welcomed or told anything. The only thing we were asked is how many people were in our party to get bracelets for the pool and how many keys we needed. The room that we stayed in was dated. I could live with that had it not been dirty. The floor was dirty and it seemed as though something had possibly been spilled on it. The room had a weird smell - possibly bug spray. The shower curtain had mold on it and the bedspread had what looked like a Kool-Aid stain on it. As we were leaving for the afternoon we stopped at the desk to see if housekeeping could clean our room and replace the shower curtain. The lady working there looked at me like I was crazy. She told me that she thought the housekeepers had already left for the day (it was 3:30 pm). She asked another worker about the housekeepers and she thought that someone was still there but gave no indication if they were going to clean the room or not. We did learn that housekeeping does not clean the room until you check out. Upon returning to the room, we did find that a new shower curtain had been put in. We had to purchase a Swiffer to keep our floor clean and a room deodorizer to get rid of the weird smell. Both mattresses had certainly lived their life long ago. They were absolutely horrible. The pools and the location of this place were great, but that really was the only positive.

The musty smell of the rooms was awful. I went in to 5 rooms to find one that didn't smell. Left my phone charger in one room while we swapped into another and they said they didn’t find it.

Property is in a nice location but it needs some upgrades. Beds were horrible, very broken down. Toilet was ready to fall thru the floor.

Jim was a wonderful staff member leading me to believe this hotel really wants to please their guests. The room itself was a little outdated. I had a cracked lampshade that is crumbling to pieces. A kitchen cabinet door had some problem. Also thought the number of extension cords used was a little odd. My room was quiet and the view was awesome.

No hotel amenities no coffee no water nothing no soap no house keeping at all ! Lights didn’t work in living room .. unless your in a 3 bedroom suite the views are not a true ocean front view .

My only complaint was the bed was extremely hard, I did get used to it though.

Kitchen: The in-room kitchen was fairly well equipped, with decent utensils and appliances for light cooking, which added some convenience to our stay. Cons: Room Condition: The room had a unpleasant smell when we arrived which eventually went away when the ac was turned on. It felt dated overall, with visible wear and tear. Cleanliness: The couch and drapes were stained, and the drawers also had an odor. These issues made the room feel less clean and comfortable than expected. Bathroom Maintenance: On our last night, the tub began draining slowly and eventually stopped draining entirely around 1 a.m. We called the front desk, but were told maintenance wouldn’t be available until 6–7 a.m.—which was frustrating, especially given the late hour and our early checkout. Fortunately, my hubby found a way to make the drain work. Overall: While the beachfront location and kitchen were definite highlights, the condition of the room and the delayed maintenance response were disappointing. With some updates and stronger attention to cleanliness and service responsiveness, this property could offer a much better guest experience. As it stands, I’d only recommend it to those who prioritize location over comfort.

First room the first night was very dated and beds were terrible. Too hard for sleeping, even the sofa bed. My husband slept in the recliner the first night. I called the next morning and spoke with Georgianna, who was EXTREMELY pleasant and helpful. We were moved to a very nice suite that was more like a what I was expecting. Beds were a little firm but nothing like the first room. We would stay in this particular suite again.

Its a decent place to stay..my main thing is the beach view if u dont get the king rooms you gonna end up with a angle view of the beach which sucks. Be aware to all that stay here about that..angle view sucks!!! Over nice pool...decent!!

We had two units. Our first unit was outdated. Feet were constantly black from bare feet in the unit. AC was ok for 70 degrees but would never make it any warmer. Beds were extremely hard and tub missing coating. View was gorgeous. Second room was the opposite. More modern with beautiful decor but less of a view. Pools were well heated so able to use despite a cool wind. And largest we have stayed at. Indoor pool is tiny with no loungers. There is no maid service unless requested...take out your own garbage, request bags, request new towels etc. Overall I would stay again if it was the best value but not otherwise. The onsite restaurant and convenience store no longer exist to when I say dining options I mean lots by uber.

Nice location, right next to the beach. The place has seen better days. The room was ok, but looked old. We had nice view on the beach but the balcony was flooded due to the leaking AC. Some of yhe plates and pans were dirty and the Dishwasher liquid that was supplied was a joke (likely the smallest possible size.....). Beds were a bit sagging. Desk staff looked bored and were not very helpful.

This was a great place to stay. The first condo we had was dirty and smelled terrible, but the manager found us a other one right away. Our balcony looked over the ocean, and the views were amazing. It was clean, quiet, and staff was amazing.

We had a great weekend getaway with the kids. The only issue we had was checking in after hours is a little confusing and we had no idea where to dump our trash. Condo was as expected and had everything we needed. Plenty of room at the pool.

The Security officer was very nice and helpful. The room was spacious and very clean!!!

ran into many problems the staff was nice but when i asked to just get a refund the denied and just offfed another room

Overall it was a great stay. Comfortable beds, nice layout of space, full size frig &stove, basic equipped kitchen(could have been cleaner) & easy access to the beach.

Very nice property close to everything.

It was a nice place & close to grocery store & restaurants. It was a little outdated but the view was wonderful! They said there was an indoor restaurant, but it was closed. The tub didn't drain very well.

This stay was okay for what we needed. The rooms are very outdated. We had to call maintenance because our tub was stopped up. It is close to restaurants and the store and on the beach so that was cool.

It was an amazing stay right at the beach with access to pools and hot tubs! Numerous nearby restaurants and shopping! So much to do in a weekend!

Loved this room and this property! It’s a great spot. The room is spacious, the bed is comfy, kitchen is great. Came with beach and kitchen supplies. Additionally, couch folds into a bed and so does outdoor couch, which is a nice touch. Plus two hotels. Balcony is amazing, can see/hear the ocean. Hotel has 2 pools, 2 kiddy pools, 2 hot tubs, a bar/grill, vending machines, snack rooms and Right on the beach, walking distance to some restaurants and a snack area. Only think that wasn’t ideal was you have to check in between 3-7pm, which was fine for us, but if we got in later wouldn’t have been good, especially since they only told us 2 days before.

The property’s location was convenient to shopping and entertainment as well as a few steps to the beach. The pools were great and so was parking. However, it needs some updating and cleaning. The hallways to get to apartments were in dire need of replacement and cleaning on a daily basis. Suite was not the cleanest, but location and price was good.
