Finest Playa Mujeres - All Inclusive

This is our go to place in Cancun with 2 young children. Multiple pools, several dining options and beautiful beach! Rooms have a sofa bed and easy accommodates our two toddlers. The nightly entertainment focuses on kids is great to keep them busy before bed time. We have not been able to try their adults offerings yet only the family side of the resort.

Great resort. The kids club was amazing!

It's very consistently good. Have been 4 times. Love the food, the staff, the amenities, the size of the resort, the entertainment. This time around there was some noticeable decline in the state of repair: elevators that weren't working, loud A/C unit in the room, some stains here and there. But overall so great.

Everything was fantastic! We loved the adults-only pool and all the amenities available. The beach was stunning and well-maintained, providing a perfect backdrop for relaxation. The staff were friendly and attentive, enhancing our experience, while the food was good. We love the 24 hour room service especially for breakfast.

Property was nice and the staff was great. I wish they had more shade around the pools.

Almost everything at Finest is great. One issue is the kids area does not have a bar and you’re not allowed to bring any drinks so spending all day at the kids area would leave the parents with not much to do since adults cannot use the water park. The Finest in Punta Cana has the blob thing in the main pool so the kids can play all day and the adults can enjoy themselves also.

Everyone was so friendly and the staff was terrific. There were so many pools to pick from as well as bars. The coffee shop was wonderful. The only thing I can say is there should be more advertising of events.

We had a wonderful stay at Finest Playa Mujeres! The resort is modern, clean, and very family-friendly, with spacious suites and great service throughout. The beach is beautiful, the pools are well-maintained, and there’s a good variety of restaurants. Highly recommend for a comfortable and upscale all-inclusive getaway.

The property was very pretty and well taken care of. The staff was always very friendly and very helpful. They also have a lot of amenities that I haven't seen in other resorts, like a basketball court and soccer field (that is not located on the beach/sand). A tennis court, and ping pong court also located right next to the soccer/basketball court with very nice protective faux grass on the ground. The area has fun water rides and other activities for the kids. The food was also one of the best in resorts I've visited. My biggest issue was the dinner. They offer buffet service for breakfast and lunch but not for dinner. For dinner they offer restaurant service, however, every restaurant we tried which was all except Mexican had at least a 45 min wait to be seated, then an even longer wait to get your order in, and then more wait to get your food. So, it would usually take up to 2 hours from arriving at the restaurant to get dinner. They should have a buffet option for dinner so that people with kids or older folks have the option to do a buffet and not have to wait that long for dinner. Maybe do away with the lunch buffet if that helps balance things out. The other minor issue I had it is, it was very difficult to find your way around the property. The signs leading you around are not very clear and sometimes they don't display the signs all the way through to the location. Even finding the beach was like going through a maze with no sign all the way thru

The staff is outstanding at this hotel! The grounds are beautiful. The only thing that would be better is if they had adults only entertainment. The live music in the evening was little kids all over.

Paid for a suite with a plunge pool. Water was so low we could not use it. Asked three times for it to be filled but never happened

Just got back today, might i say it was beyond my expectation! Had an amazing time, food was great, so many options available, amazing sweet & friendly staff who want to make sure you’re beyond happy & comfortable!! such a beautiful & clean resort, they had a tracker out on the beach every morning cleaning the seaweed, they also were non stop cleaning in general all around the resort which i loved, i also witnissed the staff testing the pools which caught me off guard but made me feel even more comfortable seeing how precise they were. It is a very family friendly place if you wanted to make it a family vacation as well as a quiet & private get away you can spend a romantic time away with your loved one! Definitely worth every star! We booked the two tower room, my absolute favorite room!!!

El hotel es lindo. La alberca principal estaba exageradamente sucia. Había mucha basura dentro de la alberca. El resto del bote muy bien. El personal siempre fue muy amable, con excepción de CECILIA( me dijo tiene prohibido dar su apellido)del check- in. Cecilia es una mujer grosera con los huéspedes, con mala actitud. Muy triste que ese hotel tan bello con personal tan bueno, tengan a una persona como Cecilia en el check-in que es la primera impresión de los huéspedes

Beautiful resort. Well maintained and clean. Tons of food and beverage options on the property. The beach is clean and quiet. My only complaints, if any, would be with the room. The lack of door leading into the bathroom could be awkward for some families. The water closet does have a door so that’s good. Also, the AC is set at 71 and seems to constantly cycle on and off. It’s gets a little annoying at night, but it a big deal. And lastly, the plunge pool on the roof top could use a little cleaning. It didn’t seem to be circulating the water at all. Otherwise, our stay was amazing. The staff’s hard work ensured it was amazing. PS: bring plenty of singles to tip the staff. They work really hard for your comfort.

Nos quedamos en una habitacion con piscina privada. La piscina necesitaba mantenimiento y limpieza. Tenia zonas oxydadas y moho. El baño de la habitacion tambien necesitaba mas limpieza. La comida estaba buena aunque el tiempo de espera para los restaurantes era alrededor de una hora.. casi nunca pudimos disfrutar del.show en el treatro por esta razon. Nos quedamos en un hotel de la misma compañia en Punta Cana que nos gusto mucho mas y la habitacion y piscina tenian una limpieza impecable

My stay was well below expectations, and did not reflect the price paid. There is also significant construction in building 4 - which was not disclosed at time of booking. Other issues included a poor room location, constant construction, cold food, very limited mini bar selection, private pool that was never cleaned and full of dead bugs, and poor customer service. These factors combined made for a disappointing experience.

The place was clean. They put a lot of effort to keep this place clean. The staff are very friendly and professional. They are very accommodating. Gabriel from the excellence club was an amaZing bar tender. Really great drinks. His skills made the experience even better. Kevin at the entertainment was very pleasant and experienced to make the pickle ball session and bike tour great. Great warmth. Our server at Domo and at the Mexican restaurant, Pedro was really good. He knows the dishes well and provided perfect service and information. He made us welcomed at the restaurants. This really sets a high standard for an all inclusive.

The kids' club was also poorly maintained, with dirty play areas and closed slides. Several meals were inconsistent: some fish dishes still had scales, and many restaurants had uneven quality. However, the management handled our feedback exceptionally well. Guest Experience Manager Stephanie upgraded us to Finest Club access, and the Food & Beverage Manager met us personally, introducing the head chef who truly took care of us afterward. The improvement in food and service was noticeable. On our last night, the team arranged a special dinner at Surf & Turf, where we could order from the adults-only Domma menu. The dishes were elegant with only minor flaws, and the broiled lobster was outstanding. The hotel also provided a complimentary airport transfer as compensation. Overall, while the resort still needs stronger quality control and better maintenance, the staff’s genuine care and service recovery made a big difference. Their sincerity turned what started as a stressful trip into a much better experience.

El hotel es muy limpio , el Personal sumamente amable y la Comida de excelente calidad . La playa limpia ya que es una zona que no recibe tanto sargazo. No nos gustó que el baño tuviera una privacidad nula , no hay puerta y está en la entrada de la habitación , este es un hotel familiar , viajas con adolescentes , abuelos , niños , etc , así que el tener que estar avisando a los demás que vas a bañarte o entrar al baño para que no pasen o se queden fuera de la habitación es un gran inconveniente.

Horrible internet connection

Positive: Location:45 minutes fr the Airport. Cleanliness: The room was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Staff Service: The moment we arrived at the resort, a staff member greeted us right away, and it was refreshing to have a cold towel. The reception staff at the Excellence Club were welcoming and efficient. The staff and servers at all the restaurants we visited were prompt and courteous. Food and Beverage: The restaurants served high-quality food, with a special mention of the Dommo restaurant, which is an Excellence Club exclusive. We had breakfast and dinner there, the food and service were top notch, so don’t miss it if you plan to upgrade your stay. Shoutout to Carlos, Yahir, Mario, and Alma who were very nice, friendly, and attentive when we had dinner on a Monday. - Value for Money: It’s pricey, so plan. I didn’t think that the value of the swim-up suite we paid for was worth the amount (refer to the negative review below). Negative: The most disappointing thing about our stay was the lack of privacy in the swim-up suite. We booked the Excellence Junior Swim-up suite. We had expected a private swim-up, but unfortunately, all the swim-up pools were open and shared with everyone, regardless of the room type. Our room was directly in front of the bar, which was always busy. The wedding party group was directly in front of our pool access. Note to upcoming guests: First swim-up pool we’ve been to of this kind, open to all, no exclusivity, it’s a big NO for me.

I’d give this resort a solid 4 even though it was a wonderful property. We loved it but there could be improvements. We booked a regular swim up room bc they didn’t have any of the finest club level avail. Upon check in, they said I can upgrade to the finest club but would still be in the regular room. So they had to change out our amenities (not sure if we got them all) and switched out our coffee maker the next day which is a shame bc the upgraded coffee was amazing and we lost a day. It is important to me bc I am a coffee snob and love my coffee and with only 3 nights, one day makes a huge difference. Our room had some stains on the cabinet and it was in the corner so it was loud esp in the mornings when you’d like to sleep in a bit. You can hear families walking by, kids crying, maintence and housekeeping right outside your door. They park their cart in front of the door and is just loud. What made our room is the pool! We loved every second of it! However it can use a good clean up as mildew is on the grout and bird poop droppings on the patio. The latter is not their fault and they try to clean it all the time. The room is spacious and the bathroom is also wonderful! The housekeeping was great but came in while we were still in the pool and she asked if we wanted a turn down service to which I said yes but she didn’t. From the moment we arrived at Finest Playa Mujeres, we were treated like royalty. The resort is stunning, with breathtaking ocean views, pristine beaches, and beautifully maintained grounds. The attention to detail in every aspect of our stay made this an unforgettable experience. Service & Staff – 10/10 The staff was beyond incredible—always friendly, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay perfect. Whether it was the concierge, housekeeping, or the restaurant servers, everyone went above and beyond to ensure we were happy and comfortable Rooms – Spacious & Luxurious Our suite was immaculate, with modern decor, a private jacuzzi, and a fully stocked minibar. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the room service was top-notch. Waking up to the sound of the ocean every morning was pure bliss. Food & Drinks – Gourmet Quality With so many dining options, we were spoiled for choice. Every meal was outstanding, from the fresh seafood at Duke’s Lobster & Seafood to the authentic Mexican dishes at Lizo. while most of our experiences at the resort were enjoyable, there were issues with the concierge and some management-level employees. When we checked in late, we asked about any restaurants or bars that stayed open late. The concierge informed us that everything closed at 11 pm, but we later discovered a bar that stayed open until 1 am every night—information that would have been helpful from the start. Unfortunately, it seemed the concierge didn’t have accurate information or make an effort to assist us with our questions. Aside from these interactions, we had a pleasant stay and would consider returning, but I hope the resort improves the quality and responsiveness of its management team for a smoother experience.

The restaurants were beautiful, and the cocktails at the pool bar were unforgettable. I’m not even a big drinker, but every drink was delicious! Our room was cleaned twice a day, and the staff were so thoughtful, even organizing our things neatly. Room service was fast and polite, and there were plenty of fun activities like water volleyball. My partner is very social, and soon the staff all knew us — they always greeted us with big smiles. I also appreciated that no one tried to sell us memberships or packages. We could just relax and enjoy our time. Funny enough, as I was leaving, I actually thought, I want to come back next year — maybe even as a member! Before booking, I saw some mixed reviews from 2023, but everything on this trip exceeded my expectations. The service, food, and atmosphere were all perfect. The property was ok. Javier the hospitality manager was excellent. The other managers at the front desk were a little deceiving and at a moment rude. We had to wait 2 and half hours the 1st day for a room transfer for the kids then again the next day for an hour for our luggage to be in the right room. Then multiple follow ups throughout the trip to correct this issue. For an all inclusive vacation we spent probably a full day in our stay to correct issues. Also, since I was an expedia VIP member I was supposed to a free wine bottle which I told Enrique who checked us in and spent 2-3 hours with him on the 1st day he said he would have it sent to the room then again next day called him/reminded him nothing he told he will have sent right away no one came. The next day at the front desk I went told him he said it should be in the room when I get back nothing again. So, all in all it was an ok experience. I do not think I needed to spend almost a full day throughout my trip to correct errors on behalf of the resort then I do not get my VIP treatment with the wine bottle. So, was really not happy.

Amazing location.

May 8 to 15th 2025 - Just had an amazing week at the Finest by Excellence in Playa Mujeres ... very safe, resort is absolutely beautiful, super clean, grounds beach and water are amazing... if you love swimming in the ocean this is the place for you. Water and weather was fabulous all week ... Staff was amazing all around but ITZEL our wonderful beach server/friend was amazing. She was such a sweetheart...Nightly entertaining was great as well. We definitely give this resort a 10 out of 10 ... restaurants were all very good as well. Highly recommend staying here ...

Great property! Only negative was location. Not close to any shopping or activities.

The resort is not huge bus very cozy, modern and spacious. It’s one of the best we have visited in Mexico! Highly recommended and we will definitely come back

Lovely resort with excellent service and facilities. Lot of good food options including vegetarian items. Great activities for kids including a fun water park. Staff goes above and beyond to provide a great experience. Playa Mujeres is quieter than hotel zone and if you intend to stay at the resort for the most part, works out well. Highly recommend this resort for families!

The property was extremely good. The only bad thing was the WiFi - huge investments are necessary there, due to the lack of mobile service in the area. Besides that this was an exceptionally great stay, from dining to service - just perfect.

The hotel is 35-40 minutes North from Cancun airport. It is within a complex of different hotels so you have to pass through two security gates, having the feel of being a very secure place. Since we got there, the service was excellent and the staff super friendly, from the lobby to the waiters at the beach, everybody was helpful at any issue that could come up. There was a day that I forgot my iPhone in one of the beach chairs and when realizing an hour after, they already picked up everything from the beach I went running to the front desk, and they were able to locate my phone in the lost and found!! For me, that was amazing!!! The spa was very good too! I had such a relaxing massage. The hotel was very clean, the room big and the food was good too, considering that usually All inclusive hotels do not have the best food. The beach was very nice, and it had just some sargassum the last couple of days but I am assuming that it was because of the rain that happened those nights. The kids loved it! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

I’ve been to Mexico many times and usually return to the same resort, but this time we tried something new based on great Google and social media reviews. Overall, it was a nice stay. Check-in was quick — we arrived early and got our room two hours ahead of schedule. Online check-in definitely helped; we were done at the front desk in about four minutes. The resort is about 35 minutes from Cancun airport, located in a gated community that felt safe. We saw both hotel security and local police on the beach. The food was solid; fresh, customizable at restaurants (which is rare at all-inclusives), and room service was fast and hot. Housekeeping was excellent, checking in a few times daily to restock towels and essentials. Most of the staff were friendly and attentive, which made a big difference. However, on our last day, breakfast service fell flat. At "The Kitchen," a buffet spot, we sat and grabbed food but no one approached us for 15 minutes — no coffee, water, or juice for our son. A waitress finally came by when we were almost done. It felt like we were no longer a priority since we were checking out. We always tip well, so that was disappointing. Is it a true 5-star resort? I’d say closer to 4.3 or 4.5. Would I return? Probably not. For the same price, there are better-established resorts in Cancun that offer more consistent service. It’s a decent place, but not quite worth the premium dollar.

Overall the hotel is excellent, the beach location, facilities, presentation and service, no complaints, but not for me again. I like to leave a hotel, walk, shop, even eat at another restaurant, but I felt a little trapped within the property, just my opinion.

Paid the $500+ upgrade for a terrace and plunge pool that was dirty the entire time. They came multiple times to fix it but it was never resolved. Also being turned away from restaurants for not bringing dress pants on vacation is ridiculous! Its a got damn vacation, who wants to dress up.

Tasteless food

Food is just average. Brass steak is bad, buffet is decent but not open for dinner at all. Wait time at restaurant is bad if we come at 7pm so we have to go at 6pm for a group of 6. Attacked by mosquitos a lot and entertainment is ok except MJ show is poor

Very good hotel, the food was great,everything perfect!

For the price you pay it doesn’t feel like a 5 stars hotel at all. Be ready the dress up every time you need to eat. Very strict dress code, their app is very confusing communicating this. Best places to eat were steakhouse, hibachi and taco truck everything else felt subpar.

We travelled as a family with a young child. Pros: beautiful quiet and family oriented resort, classy and well maintained, lovely beach, very clean, amazing juice bar and always-open cafe (sweet corner), we were mostly happy with food quality in the restaurants (not the market “buffet”), kid center is great, live music in the evenings, not a party resort. Cons: every single lunch and dinner at the restaurants had a 30 min-1 hour wait, while the restaurants were often half empty. With lots of tables available, they turn guests away or make them wait. Once we finally get a table, it’s another 25-35 mins to put in our order, and finally another 30-45 mins for the food to arrive. Between lunch and dinner, we would spend about 5 hours a day waiting to get a table or waiting for our food. This is unfortunate since we could spend this time on the beach or enjoying activities. The poor management of the restaurants truly affected our stay and experience. Note to parents with young children: arrive at the restaurant 20 mins before they open otherwise you’ll have a hungry kid while waiting over 1.5 hours for the table and food to arrive.

Great staff and overall a great vacation for our family, including two children ages 7 and 5 and grand parents. The only reason we can't give 5 stars is the dining experience - the food was good, but it was very difficult getting a reservation at the more popular restaurants. If you weren't able to make the restaurants dinner opening, you had to wait over an hour for the next seating. There was also one night where the sheets were changed with slightly damp sheets - that didn't leave a very comfortable sleeping experience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay though!
