The services were excellent all around including room, beach, pool, parking, bars and restaurants. I would have preferred a self parking option and that the beach umbrellas would have been included as part of the daily hotel fees.

The location was perfect. Centrally located, making trips north and south along the key easy. We were able to quickly go to Sarasota or Ana Maria. The private beach was great. It would have been better without the uncharges for umbrellas and additional lounge chairs. Only 2 lounge chairs per room when a room holds 4 people. Restaurant service was slow, we had breakfast the first morning which was just ok. All other meals were out on the island. Some very good options. Try, Whitney’s, Dry Dock Grill or the Sage Biscuit. All were good. The front office, housekeeping and valet/ bell staff were friendly and helpful.

This property is on the verge of excellent, they get a Very Good ++. Location a.k.a. beachfront is absolutely wonderful. Pool and spa pool are warm and comfortable. (Sand at pool bottom should be cleaned for maximum appeal.)

The hotel was clean, amenities were nice and most of the staff were very friendly. A few things we had issue with were the mandatory valet. Maybe I missed this in the property details but we would prefer to self park especially in a place where you cannot walk to anything. if you’re looking for a place where you can walk to dining and shopping this is not the place for you. The area is beautiful but the beaches and resorts are totally separate. You need transportation to get around. We ate breakfast at the resort once and it was very good. Our other meals were off site. Another thing we had issue with was the ongoing renovations. We had to walk around furniture in the halls and wet paint. We were confused as to why we would have a room in the middle of all that. The guys who manned the beach chair rentals were awesome, and the valet staff attentive despite us not wanting to valet. Overall a nice place but just a weird vibe.

Complimentary valet parking was great. Pool is loud all hours of day, recommend higher up to lessen kids yelling. 2 beach Loungers are part of resort fee with free help yourself pool towels. Restaurant has good service and food. Pool bar was crowded and service took a little. Overall it was great and would go again.

3 cockroaches found in room and stench coming out of bathroom since day 1. Charged for amenities that should be included in the nightly rate. Restaurant was expensive, food was mid, and portions were very small. I've stayed at hotels in Mexico that are far better than this hotel. Will not come back.

We had a wonderful stay. Heated pool and hot tub really helped make it feel like vacation when the weather was not cooperating. Our room was clean and comfortable. Everyone was very friendly. I would definitely stay again.

Stains on the floor. Housekeeping didn’t come until we were back in our room, so we had to leave and come back. Dishes left in hallway from other guests for multiple days. Complimentary coffee is extremely short. For the price point, it was definitely disappointing

I loved how clean and quiet this place is. Being a small building complex helps control the amount of people. The beaches are beautiful. Love how pet friendly it is, but also keep all the rooms neat and clean and not smelling like animals.

I was so anticipating this place, but sadly, it was underwhelming. The king room was small, cramped, and bland looking. I know it said our room would have a resort view, but seriously, my window butted up against parked cars about 3 feet off my patio. We also had the bonus of the first floor ice unit being on the other side of our wall, which periodically made a loud grinding/scraping sound and smelled of overheated rubber, and kept me up most of the night. Definitely not worth the exorbitant price I paid. Service at the poolside restaurant was very slow (we were one of only 4 tables) and the food was very average and a little cold when we finally got it. The beach area was nice, so I’ll give them points for that. Sorry, but wouldn’t stay here again.

Room was old and needed to be remodeled, door seal let lots of light in, carpet was sticky. Mattress was comfortable. View was amazing. Staff was great. For the cost, we expected a better property.

Wonderful location. Great beach for guests. Great pool with plenty of lounge chairs for all. Good restaurant. Room was in older wing and a little dated, but large with good view and a great ac. Shower needed a drain cleaning was the only gig along with shortage of complimentary body wash. Otherwise all was good. Nice bed and great pillows.

We had a wonderful stay at Zota Beach Resort on Longboat Key. The property is beautiful, right on the beach, with stunning Gulf views from our balcony. Our room was modern, well equipped, and very comfortable. The front desk staff were warm, kind, and professional, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. In the evening, we relaxed by the pool under the stars and noticed a raccoon passing by at a safe distance away from the pool. When we mentioned it, the staff explained that the resort partners with rescue organizations to relocate them, though as part of Florida’s natural environment, new ones may appear. It did not take away from our experience, and we appreciated how proactive and transparent the staff were. Overall, the resort felt safe, peaceful, and high quality. A beautiful place for a relaxing getaway, and I would definitely return.

Disappointed. Our room was directly across from a mechanical room that made a high pitched beeping noise the entire time we were there. I expected more for the price. I would say the room quality was that of a dated holiday inn. Rooms were run down, unusually small shower space and had a sewage smell. Unfortunately will never stay here or at an Opal resort again.

This hotel had the hopes of being a great stay, but the word that comes to mind is inconsistent. The $20 breakfast was average at Best, poolside bar food was OK but they forgot all condiments, silverware or napkins were delivered. The front desk tried to fix the problem of the constantly blinking lights in the room from the Smoke alarm and some mother system but all they did was put blue tape over the lights, which was dumb because we had already covered them with Band-Aids. Had to ask repeatedly for items such as bags for the ice and the ice bucket was the size of a tissue box, and they forgot the do not disturb sign twice so the maid open the door while I was in the shower. The beach crew was great, and the view of course was lovely. But inconsistent just was the theme of the day

The resort location and facilities far exceeded our expectations. However, the real stand out was the service. The wait staff in the dining room and bar went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. I would certainly recommend the Zota Beach Resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, get away experience.

Nice room and nice place but the staff was rude and act like we were bothering them when we ordered at the pool bar. Also the staff cut infront of me several times going through doors without saying a word. Maybe some hospitality training would help. The pool looked liked it hadn’t been cleaned for awhile, real dingy. Weve stayed at opal resorts and the staff and hotels are always top notch but this one was not. Disappointing for such a cool place based off the pictures online. Never again!!!

The pool area was nice. The beach access great. The food for lunch at least was just ok. We didnt get our room made up. When I called it to the front desk attention and came back two hours later t still wasnt. I had to get an attendant to come do it even though not her room. When I spoke to the front desk again the explanation was weak as well as the apology. My son had to change rooms because the room offered him wasnt properly cleaned.

When I spoke to the front desk again the explanation was weak as well as the apology. My son had to change rooms because the room offered him wasnt properly cleaned.

The front desk- you will have to wait 15 min or longer to ask a question, even if you are the only person in the lobby. The restaurant, no one is there eating and several staff standing around talking but will not acknowledge customers. The pool area is always trashed with food, trash, wet towels. There is staff standing around talking but no one cleaning up the area. The beach is nice and the folks that work on the beach do a nice job with the chairs and equipment. Next time we will look into other resorts.

From the valet, to the GM they were all amazing people! The bartenders to house keepers all were able to help and serve us wonderfully! The place was amazing. Great hospitality great hotel. They were so great. The room was beautiful and were clean.

Everything was nice but service at the bar was terrible had 2 bartenders there and they like look at you dont ask what you want. I had to ask how do i ask for service here because i was lost. The rooms are ok and the beach access. The restaurant shoudnt even be opened the service was the worst i ever had. Food was not good for the price. I have been to alot of wonderful places . The restaurant ruined our whole experience. We ordered a wine bottle and it took over 30 minute's to come our appetizers had come before the bottle. Dont get the pasta dishses. Fettuicine Alfredo came with like a spoon full of Alfredo sauce and the meat pasta taste like can spaghettis. Worst restaurant i ever been to

I will not return. Check-in experience was very disappointing and the room left much to be desired. Sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the bathroom was small. The food and service at the restaurant was superior. The room rate was 604.00 per night. I’ve never experienced a more disappointing stay. Property was fantastic just if you want to eat outside of hotel, nothing much is easily in walking distance. I rented a bike and rode to Sarasota a few times but sometimes it would have been nice to have more options closer. However the beach and pool were a fabulous set up and worth the inconvenience to me. Hotel room and amenities were amazing as well

Away from the Anna Maria congestion and right on the beach. We received 2 free beach lounges with our room whih was very nice and I loved not having to save lounge chairs by the pool, there were plenty of chairs available all day long.

We had a wonderful stay at Zota Beach Resort on Longboat Key. The property is beautiful, right on the beach, with stunning Gulf views from our balcony. Our room was modern, well equipped, and very comfortable. The front desk staff were warm, kind, and professional, which made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. In the evening, we relaxed by the pool under the stars and noticed a raccoon passing by at a safe distance away from the pool. When we mentioned it, the staff explained that the resort partners with rescue organizations to relocate them, though as part of Florida’s natural environment, new ones may appear. The location was perfect. Centrally located, making trips north and south along the key easy. We were able to quickly go to Sarasota or Ana Maria. The private beach was great. It would have been better without the uncharges for umbrellas and additional lounge chairs. Only 2 lounge chairs per room when a room holds 4 people. The hotel was clean, amenities were nice and most of the staff were very friendly. A few things we had issue with were the mandatory valet. Maybe I missed this in the property details but we would prefer to self park especially in a place where you cannot walk to anything. if you’re looking for a place where you can walk to dining and shopping this is not the place for you. The area is beautiful but the beaches and resorts are totally separate. You need transportation to get around. We ate breakfast at the resort once and it was very good. Our other meals were off site. Another thing we had issue with was the ongoing renovations. We had to walk around furniture in the halls and wet paint. We were confused as to why we would have a room in the middle of all that. The guys who manned the beach chair rentals were awesome, and the valet staff attentive despite us not wanting to valet. Overall a nice place but just a weird vibe.

Excellent experience. The hotel is beautiful, very peaceful and the service is great. My only concern is about the food service in the restaurant at breakfast time and by the pool. We were having breakfast for two times and the server took a long time to bring us the food and even took forever just to be seated. At the pool, we asked for chips and salsa and two kids meals. The kids meals were good but the chips and salsa were horrible. The guacamole was a blackish-green color and the salsa tasted bad. Overall the experience was amazing but the food service needs improvement.

We are steps from the beach - the chairs and umbrellas are set up for you by the staff. The amenities and rooms are exactly as pictured. The staff is phenomenal. The complimentary valet service just puts the cherry on the top. I will bring family back here forever.

Clean and spacious room. Bathroom a little tight but it has a vanity out of the bathroom that helped a lot. Restaurant and bar well maintained with excellent food and service. The beach and pool services were also excellent. Clean pool and hot tub.
