Main pool was closed, we were told by staff it wasnt an inconvenience for our trip because we had access to Secrets, well Secrets is adults only. So we were stuck with a kiddy kiddy pool, or an over crowded other pool. We had 2 options for restaurants, even the buffett was only open some evenings, limiting food options. Drinks were subpar, beach was rocky and unswimable. Also, beach is full of salesman. You say no thankyou to the same ones over and over again. Overall, we enjoyed leaving the resort because there was nothing to do while we were there.

Property is beautiful. A little inconvenient to go between secrets and dreams there’s no through path and you must go to third level to pass between hotels to go down to beach level on adults only side. Food was below average even the Mexican was sub par not authentic

What we did not like was they close the ocean swim up bars at 6pm. Still light and sun sets for 2 1/2 hrs???? WHY Older property but very still nice. Our "OUR Butler Jose was the BEST ever!!! We stayed in all adult Secrets side! All wait staff excellent. But closing the pool bar so early was a buzz killer for everyone. With such beautiful sunsets, why close so early.

Nice and good location. However, on event days the hotel takes up ALOT of the pool space and removes chairs. Every annoying because it’s a small space to start with. Also the sand it ruff on the feet, lots of rocks. Water shoes recommended.

The staff were very nice. It seemed like they never say "no". Every question or request I witnessed, they were happy to help. The room was nicer than expected. It was clean and spacious (we were in a premium jr. suite). Room service was great. Wish there had been more kid friendly options on that menu. The restaurants were very good. Many options that were beyond the norm but many also catered well to children. The spa itself was great. Loved the pre-service experience. The massages were more relaxation massages. Maybe I booked the wrong thing for our needs. The pool and beach areas are very crowded. Nice but crowded. I would look out the door at 6am and all the chairs would already be claimed. It was also very hard to find towels. We would stalk the workers to track down beach towels. It's a smaller beach area but all you need. The waves were quite big when we were there. The lifeguard was on top of keeping people safe that shouldn't be in the water. There are many people walking through to sell their crafts but that is part of the charm of Mexico. The resort is close to all of the city action. Great location if you want to explore Puerto Vallarta.

We liked that it was close to downtown Puerta Vallarta. The size of the property was perfect. Entertainment during the day and evening were great as was the food and service. Everybody was very friendly. The only thing we didn’t like was that the multiple weddings took away space for the paying guests to enjoy the sun tanning beds.

Room was not in good condition. Phone and some of the outlets did not work. Sliding doors were off track and couldn’t get them back on. Room and bar service was inconsistent. Some days drinks and coffee were refilled. Other days not refilled. Room was dated and old. The mildew odor when AC was not running was unbearable. You either had to be freezing cold running the AC or have to deal with the odor. Rooms were also not well sound proofed. The music for events and shows went all night.

Property could be cleaner. They seem to be missing some key areas such as the public pools and restrooms by the pools. The walkway outside rooms have dead bugs daily. Room service dishes were left in the hallways for days. This isn’t what I expected for the money spent

The staff is nice but the pool is dirty full of bugs and bees. Especially the big pool. My kids refuse to go into it. The room has a very strong moldy smell. And we got allergy and sick. So we leave the hotel and change to a different one. The front desk refuse to refund us for the days we are not going to stay. Which is not helpful at all. I submitted a review through the hotel’s parent company’s website and then they get the partial refund to us. Besides this. The kids club is great and staff beside the front desk are all great too.

We had several inconveniences with our room and had to change rooms. Baby roaches in the bathroom, had to call daily to replenish fridge or coffee, lock to adjoining door on our side was broken and didn't lock which meant strangers next door could have entered our room anytime. Wish we could have got our money back. But their food at all restaurants was amazing as was their servers. Welcome greeters with towel and drink was refreshing staff was great.

Amenities not described properly and the concierge did not communicate some how to’s like service light that was left on. Upper sales team for Universal Vacation Group was rude and pushy when we turned down their sales pitch to become members. After we declined to join our room was not cleaned for 2 days. Food was terrible across all restaurants. Pool had giant floor damage that we stepped in/on. Several broken/ missing floor tiles in hotel and loose hand rails through out

The property was beautiful, safe and clean, staff were friendly, the food was great, the in room espresso was fantastic ! The swim up bar pool was really dirty to the point that we switched pools, some parts of the property are getting a little weathered and worn, disappointed that restaurants were closed, had to call every night to get the in room coffee refilled. Overall, enjoyed our stay!

This is our second stay at this resort & I would have to say whilst the resort is still very nice it feels a little run down for the price of staying here. We had a junior swim out suite suite & the first room we were given had a faulty sliding door that could not be secured (& looked like it had been like that for some time) & the spa bath inside the room was also broken. The pool temperature was quite cold & hence rarely used. Our mini bar was filled on the day we arrived & only then again on the day before we checked out (we stayed 7 nights) & the food in the restaurants (apart from the food at the Buffet) was pretty disappointing. On the positive side, we had great service from lots of the staff & the NYE event put on by the resort was outstanding.

Rooms in desperate need of maintenance and updating, new construction tower being built next door constant noise and racket from 8am to 9pm. Location on beach is good quick Uber to Malecón or romantic zone, that would be the highlight of this hotel. Had to call housekeeping numerous times for water/ beer refills as they don’t come every day. Patio door and air conditioning broken. Was offered to move to a second floor room, but we had booked a swim out suite, so didn’t want to down grade. Overall not what is expected from dreams and we’ve stayed at many.

The property was very pretty. Pool areas were nice. The common areas where the evening entertainment took place was covered but open air. The evenings were very hot and muggy. Each night we went to our rooms pretty hot and sweaty. The air conditioning in the rooms however was great. The room had a few issues that were fixed quickly. No stopper in the bathtub, no TV remote, door lock stopped working due to a bad battery.

Our air conditioning went on and off unpredictably. I asked for a maintenance person to visit. When he did, the A/C was working and he left. Thank goodness for the fan. Room 1760.

Overall, a very enjoyable stay at this hotel. Clean, great poolside service, great views, lovely rooms. However, there were a few areas for improvement which meant I couldn't rate it a maximum 5 stars. The Wifi is pretty poor around the pool area - that should be fixed. Reservations for dinners should be online and not in person - felt a hassle to coordinate. The breakfast selection felt the same each day - try switching it up a bit. Also, I don't understand why you don't leave bacon out for guests. I had to ask a staff member to get it for me each morning. You could also benefit from a standalone bar area. Having it in the lobby area doesn't work very well.

When I got to the hotel I needed to add a second person to the room. They gouged me on the price and only agreed to a refund after two days worth of negotiating. The receipt they wrote out had the wrong persons name on it and I didn’t think anything of it but then when I tried to get a print out of the charges at checkout they refused and said a receipt would come via Expedia (it didn’t and I still haven’t gotten the refund on my credit card). I told the concierge “no thank you” when he tried to talk to me about “extras” at the hotel. He got so mad that he chased me through the hotel and demanded my name and room number. They staff all take your food and drinks that you’re still working on without asking. The place is pretty but I’d never stay there again.

Upside: Overall good hotel and restaurants. The Asian restaurant and Carnival buffet was very good. The 3rd floor lobby bar and hang out area was very nice. Down sides: room service, pool food and drinks were mediocre. At check in they try to rope you into a time share so BEWARE. Very pushy and not ok as we paid over $650 a night and didn’t want to get hustled upon arrival. Also the pool area felt like a cruise ship. Can’t sit on the beach front chairs as vendors harrass constantly. Looked like majority of people were over 50 or had small children. DJ was way too loud and most of the music genre not appropriate for the overall age of guests. They did change genres part of the day but hard relax with the music blaring. Room was nice and clean but the smell of the cleaning solution was overwhelming. Had to leave the slider open all night to keep the smell down and keep fresh air circulating.

Majority of the staff was awesome. The concierges were a little pushy to do the presentations for my liking. They advised it would only take 1.5 hours. Once we were there, two hours in, I told them I didn’t think their discount program was the right fit for us they kept pushing and followed up by a manager (Alex). In my opinion it’s unprofessional for a manager to get up the table without properly dismount himself, just because he didn’t get what he wanted. then they brought another lady to speak to us. At that point I was frustrated because we had plans and I kept telling them this was not the right fit and at the end they seem upset. Which gave me a bad taste in my mouth. I do want to say Fernanda and David from the buffet restaurant were super awesome with us! Kudos to them. Made us feel welcome at all times.

Overall a great option. He beach can be a little rough and the water a little dirty but not the properties fault. Good options were solid. Especially the Italian and Japanese restaurants. Breakfast buffet could have been a bit better. Staff was great and the views were amazing.

I did not like that there was dress code to eat at the Italian restaurant. I paid for all inclusive stay and was turned away for not having certain clothing to eat. Disappointing
