Pet friendly hotel with free parking but limited spaces. The room was basic, the room we stayed in had a street light outside, which the blind didn't do much to keep that out all night. The bed was very firm which wasn't our preference may suit others. The shower was low pressure and took a while to get to temperature. If you just want a bed for the night it's serviceable but wouldn't personally stay more than one night.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at The Lamplighter in Windermere. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and in a fantastic location for exploring the Lake District. Windermere is such a great little town — beautiful, relaxing, and full of charm. We loved walking around, exploring the local shops and restaurants, and taking in the scenery. The evening staff at the hotel were absolutely wonderful from the moment we checked in. Dinner service was excellent, everyone was friendly and welcoming, and they even took the time to give us recommendations for things to do in the area, which made our trip even better. Unfortunately, our checkout experience was not nearly as positive. There was apparently an internet issue with the hotel’s payment system that caused all of my cards to be declined. The morning clerk, Fernando, repeatedly insisted the issue was on my end, despite me explaining that multiple cards were failing. This conversation happened in front of other guests, which honestly felt embarrassing and uncomfortable. Later it became clear that the issue was actually with the hotel’s own system and not my cards at all. What disappointed me most was that there was never any apology or acknowledgment after realizing the mistake. A simple apology would have gone a long way. That said, aside from the unfortunate checkout interaction, the rest of the staff and our overall stay were genuinely very good, and we would still recommend both The Lamplighter and Windermere.

The room was clean and bed very comfy. The bathroom could do with some extra tlc as the shower was not as clean as expected. All staff were pleasant and the breakfast was very good.
