Beautiful hotel, modern and great location. Love the high ceiling as it makes the room much bigger. We got a quiet room facing the interior and we did not hear any sound. We enjoy their nice coffee / tea machine for hotel guests downstairs. Gym is great. So many amazing restaurant nearby, walkable to everywhere. Staffs are attentive. We really enjoy this hotel!

Lovely Hotel in a great location for getting around the City. Very clean and modern bedrooms and the atrium/reception area were stunning, retaining the feel of the original Haggenmacher Palace.The baggage locker facilities were very useful after check out allowing us to venture out for a full day in the City before an evening flight back home.

We loved the sauna/ wellness center and the ambiance of the hotel. Lobby always smelled great. Staff was super helpful. Loved this hotel!

The hotel is beautifully designed. No other food was available except breakfast and the bar closed at 11pm. Having had a delayed flight, this was disappointing upon arrival late at night. The rooms are very small to the point where you would face a piece of furniture at every turn. The air conditioning was covered by the curtain and so the room got very warm despite having it on. The view from the window was into the hotel so wasn't great. Luckily was out for most of the stay. Very well located but expected more for the price.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Conveniently, you can purchase a Hop-on-Hop-off ticket at the reception. The Christmas market is approximately a 25-minute walk away. I utilised the Blot taxi app for my evening airport transfer, costing £25 (10750). While there's no swimming pool, the sauna comfortably accommodates around 5 people. The breakfast was delightful, and I would definitely return.

Returning customer. Excellent location - close to the 4-6 tram (very useful in Budapest), and the M1 (yellow) metro room). Rooms are not large, but comfortable. If you get a room on a higher floor, you get more light (and possibly a view, see the view from my top floor room in the photo). Very nice and helpful straff. The luggage storage room is excellent, with lockers.

The hotel Oktogon is situated in one of those beautiful big houses with a (former) courtyard. I had a top-floor room with a huge window that allowed a striking view over the roofs of Budapest. Everybody in the staff seemed very nice and forthcoming. The only downside is the lack of a restaurant in the hotel (something that I had overlooked when booking) – but with plenty of restaurants nearby that was still o.k. All in all a very good hotel for any stay in Budapest.

Great rooms, lovely staff & service. Stunning building . Huge reception area which would be better used as a coffee shop / bar as there are no comfortable public areas to sit & enjoy a coffee after sightseeing or a drink before or after dinner. So as a group of 8 we always had to go elsewhere. The bar has 1 table that seats 4, 2 bar stools, & 2 large single wall seats. So fine for 2 people to grab a nightcap but not somewhere to spend any time. But id definitely consider it for a return trip.

We had a room on the last floor, it was quiet and the attic vibe with the huge windows is cool. They also offer lockers for the suitcases, which is very helpful. Not to mention that the hotel is super well located!! Everything amazing, highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is in a great location for easy access to most places. The hotel was spotlessly clean. The towels are bath towels rather than bath sheets so a little on the small side. Staff were all very friendly. Superior room was smaller than expected and I would say it would be a standard room in Uk . Only one desk chair to sit on . So nowhere for other person to sit . That said it was very good value for money and would highly recommend it.

4 & half stars - not quite 5* as requested a couple of things that weren’t resolved (large duvet as opposed to 2 singles on a king bed & bathroom drain smell) Otherwise, staff very friendly and room on 5th floor perfect for our stay in Budapest. Would stay again if back in the city :-) Plenty of places for dinner around the area and easy to get to from the airport and train station.

Everything was super about this hotel. First time ever photos didnt reflect reality, the room was honestly better :0 Super clean, everything we asked for we got and with a smile. Super close to transportation, and center. And although its prime location it was extremely quiet.

Clean rooms , nice staff

We stayed an extra day for more touring in Budapest. The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was great. One thing that needs improvement is the towels. The bath towels are getting thin and worn out and there were not any washcloths, how can I shower w/out washcloths.

とにかく部屋が臭い。ずっと公衆トイレの中にいるようだった。臭すぎてよく寝れないほどだった。 内側の部屋だったので、窓も開けられなかったので、とても不快だった。

50 metri da metro, vicino alla zona locali e ristoranti. Pulito, ottima colazione, vicino a tutti i servizi. Solo stanze piccole. Apri la valigia solo sul letto e non ci sono armadi. Nel complesso consigliabile

Beautiful hotel with friendly and efficient customer service. We would stay here again, but I have some notes (see below). We stayed 3 nights over new years. Perfect location near metro (M1 line) and the tram lines, centrally located so you can get around town in 20 minutes or less. The room itself was comfortable enough, we had 2 twin beds as that was the option available although we may have preferred a king based on comfort. There’s no closet, but more of an open shelf clothing organizer which worked okay. We stayed in a room with a city view, which I preferred to a room facing the hotel interior. Room comes with blackout blinds which work well. Notes: the only light switch for the bathroom is on the far side of the bathroom which is ridiculous (obviously designed by a man). The shower door is too low to floor so doesn’t allow you to actually open it without pushing the bath mat away so you have to place the bath mat after you get out of the shower which defeats the purpose of the bath mat (you will get the floor wet). Towels are thin and rough, and the bathroom amenities feel cheap for such a nice hotel. There is also no outlet close to a mirror outside the room so if you are trying to do your hair outside the room you’re out of luck. These are minor annoyances that didn’t dampen our enjoyment of the hotel but they should put more thought into these items. The hotel itself is truly spectacular looking so why use cheap plastic wrapped bar soap in the bathroom?

Nice unique looking hotel, our room was on the top floor and had a interesting partially sloped window ceiling. However due to location traffic noise was a loud at times. Due to our early arrival (9:30 a.m.) we had requested an earlier check in, if possible, we felt that there was no effort to do, even an hour earlier, (we checked in around 2:30), which normally would have not been a problem, as they had lockers available to store luggage, but it was raining the whole time, and the lobby restaurant is not open after breakfast.

We loved the room on the top floor as it had an amazing skylight window.

Overall this was a good hotel in a great area with the tram and metro available outside. My only quibble is that the room was small with no place to put a suitcase and no place to sit comfortably. Perhaps they have bigger rooms in which case book it. I am not sure how two people could manage in the one I had. Otherwise a great choice.

Beautiful hotel, at an excellent central location. Very walkable area, and close to metro and tram. Breakfast is delicious with many food options. Some minor issues with the air conditioning control that was difficult to operate and the room is very small. Can hardly walk around the bed.

Very unfriendly staff, they initially confirmed that breakfast was included in the rate just to charge it upon departure.

Room was great. Location was terrific. Atilla, at the front desk, and everywhere else he is needed, was incredible.

We loved this hotel. Very convenient to get around the city too. The staff were professional and helpful, always with a smile. Loved the card we were left for any extras required which were delivered promptly. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again if ever in Budapest!

I did not have breakfast at the hotel. The staff was friendly, professional and very helpful. One of the members of the staff at front desk, Barbara, was an excellent person to communicate with, she was very helpful in recommending restaurants, places to see, searching for different places we wanted to visit and always with a smile.

Very convenient location with multiple modes of public transportation within walking distance and right outside the hotel. On one of the main streets for shopping and also very close to multiple tourist areas. Breakfast is much cheaper if you book through Expedia and included in the room rate. Breakfast options were excellent and a time saver in the morning instead of looking outside.

Hotel Oktogon was the perfect hotel for my brother and me traveling in December to visit Budapest! Located at a busy intersection with easy access to the rest of the city by foot or by catching a bus, trolley, or metro right steps from the front doors, it was a perfect location. Accommodations were also fantastic - the room was very comfortable and had a unique skylight / window on the top floor, the staff were extremely friendly and had sturdy umbrellas to borrow during a rainy day, and the hotel offered breakfast (for purchase or included in your stay, depending on what you initially book). If you are unsure about where to stay in Budapest, I couldn’t recommend Hotel Oktogon more!

Ideally placed for a stay in Budapest, we walked everywhere, but it’s close to tram links and a very busy street with lots of food outlets.

Hotel Oktogon hits all the marks: very nice facility; helpful and friendly staff; help with airport transfers; delicious breakfast; and superb location, easy walk from city center and sites, numerous restaurant and shopping options nearby, and close to train station. I highly recommend Hotel Oktogon.

A recepção é muito hospitaleira e gentil. O quarto tem um pé direito alto que dá muito conforto, além de o hotel ser muito bonito e bem localizado. O café da manhã é variado e excelente.

O hotel está num prédio histórico que foi restaurado com muito bom gosto. O cheiro do saguão de entrada é maravilhoso! O quarto tem ótimo tamanho, a cama é muito boa e tudo estava em ordem e limpo. O café da manhã é excelente, principalmente aos domingos. Os produtos tem muita qualidade e o única crítica a fazer é com relação a repetição dos pratos. Todos os dias são servidos os mesmos. Para quem fica vários dias, é complicado.

Very well-kept and well-appointed hotel, spacious and welcoming in every sense of the word. Generous, pleasant morning breakfast provided in the spacious breakfast room. The staff was always helpful and welcoming!

Skylight room on 5th floor. Convenient to museums, zoo, restaurants and shopping. Breakfast a bit overpriced for what you got. Staff amazingly responsive and helpful on local sites and dining.

The package with Expedia is misleading. They advertise a free drink per person per night. When we got there, we were told that we could use the free vend coffee machine in the lobby between 12-5pm like any other guest, whereas we were expecting a drink in the bar. The rest of the hotel is fine, albeit unspectacular. One morning we were there had a coach troop of Germans which meant the the breakfast buffet was ridiculously busy.

Good location. Staff very attentive and friendly. Breakfast could have had more choice eg scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes.
