EST Grand Hotel Savoy

The hotel was in a great location for exploring Budapest, within walkjng distance of both the ruin bars area and the river front. The staff within the hotel were very friendly and the room was comfortable and finished to a high standard. The only disappointung aspect was the rooftop bar - the bar had closed early on the Friday night I stayed and the service was so slow on the Saturday night that the group I was with decided to leave and go elsewhere. I would still recommend the hotel and would return it I was I'm Budapest again

Clean, easy and everything works. Except breakfast. 1/4 mornings I got to just go and eat. 3/4 mornings (different times) every seat was full. Don't know how long the wait would have been, as I don't have time to wait on workdays. Also no roomservice available, even though suitepad in the rooms still says it's available. Even the phone still has it on speeddial. Overall good hotel, but as someone who spends minimum several weeks of the year in Budapest hotels, not going to come back here.

Great hotel, but the bistro/diner restaurant wasn’t available at hotel, only breakfast. Roof not open for drinks etc (feb 2022) Apart from that great hotel and super easy to get on public transport and easy to get to!

Nice hotel. Close to the Metro. Walkable to food and laundry services. They were proactive with the Expedia VIP benefit, having it ready in an envelope at check-in without me even having to ask. Excellent breakfast with a great selection. I enjoyed the bar in the lobby in the evening with a very nice bartender. The restaurant closes early in the evening, and some nearby food options also close early, so plan accordingly. Smart TV in the room. The large window/door to the small balcony in my room gave the room great light. I had a pleasant stay and would definitely stay again.

A comfortable and clean hotel with a very convenient location, most things seem to be around a 20min walk. We were a bit disappointed to hear that the sky bar was not open during our stay.

Nice hotel, away from the busiest part of downtown, but also farther away from restaurants and attractions. Clean rooms and helpful staff. The sauna is nice, but not hot enough - you need to give the front desk advanced notice that you want to use it so they can turn it on.

Grand Hotel Savoy exceeded our expectations. Modern clean room. Central location with walking distance to everything. Great breakfast worth the 18€ we paid extra. And the rooftop bar was amasing. You can see all over town and the sunsets are absolutely beautiful!

Modern und sehr schön ausgestattete Zimmer mit Küglschrank. Top Frühstück und Sauna inkludiert bis nach 22Uhr möglich. War sehr zufrieden.

Front Desk - At check-in: Friendly, quick check in (early, too - thank you.). Room Condition - The design & furniture in bedroom part of the room was wonderful. The only problem is that the climate control (even though there are controls in the room) were not up to the guests. The room was roasting. I tried using the AC or fan and was told it was shut off. We had the window open & system off for two days in the middle of winter & we were sweating. There were no lighter blankets available. No one could not help with the issue even when asked. Bathroom had orange & yellowed grout lines - it needed a good washing. Service - Housekeeping turns over the rooms very quickly & efficiently. But, it be perhaps because they are not washing the floors in the bathrooms. The minibar service agent walked into the room without knocking while we were in the room - that was awkward. Bar in the lobby is expensive. Not much empathy on the room temp. Breakfast - AMAZING. High quality. Better than any I have had in traveling. This was 5 star & worth the cost. Location - wonderful. Close to Metro lines, tram lines, & great restaurants and stores nearby. Overall: This hotel has what it takes to be amazing. There are some corners being cut in housekeeping & the climate control areas that keep it from being just out of this world. Sleep is the most essential service a hotel can offer & the temperature was just not comfortable; there was no way to remedy it. I didn't sleep well; my only problem.

It was a nice small boutique hotel. However our room/bathroom smelt so bad of sewage, it was so potent and almost smelt like a dead rat smell. We were up on the 5th floor too. Tried to call the reception many of times but no answer. The reception wasn’t that helpful whilst checking in or welcoming us.

We really appreciated staff changing our room from 214 - where there was a constant smell of sewers - to 530, higher up. We also appreciate all staff at reception desk who were very polite and did everything to help us with everything we needed. We are very unhappy with the cleaning staff who regularly (?!!) forgot to take dirty cups and regularly (?!!?) forgot to replace with clean cups. This had meant we had to keep asking reception desk for these missing items because the cleaning staff were not competent and trained well enough to do their job properly، particularly when the same mistake happens more than once. There has to be a supervisor running regular checks to avoid this but such inconveniences are important enough for customers not to return to the same hotel ! The cleaning staff also didn't vacuum the room, everyday we were coming back to dust and hair in all corners. The floor were mopped but that was causing all the dust and hair to pile up and stick to surfaces. Why is it so hard to vacuum before mopping up the floors. We liked the TV size, newness and modern furniture , the restaurant was very clean, the air con/ heating system worked both ways which was efficient. The mattress in room 214 is out of shape and uncomfortably soft, it gave us real backache and we're young and fit ! Can't imagine what sort of back pain it will cause for older clients. Good selection of pillows !

Very easy checkin and check out. Got late checkout upon request. The hotel is extremely clean - they don´t have carpets which in my book is a big plus. Nice service also and good location.

Nice clean rooms, powerful shower but that's it. Breakfast - below average for the price. Staff - other than people at reception we were really appalled by the service. Housekeeping team have not even bothered to wash my cup of tea or replace the the tea/sugar I used. Asked to change duvet, returned to the same one in the evening. Left some honey in the room for my evening tea, it was REMOVED by the cleaner along with black tea I left, and replaced with green tea. Speechless.

We were upgraded but to the front rooms facing the road. It was noisy with the traffic. If u had known I would have stayed in the back rooms. Unfortunately they only offer feather down pillows which I’m allergic to. I did request a foam pillow but reception never got back to me on my request. Breakfast was great and housekeeping staff did an amazing job everyday.

Beautiful and comfortable room. The staff were great, especially Ana, who attempted to get a dinner reservation for us but due to the restaurant being closed that night she recommended another place and booked us in - it absolutely did not disappoint. She also gave us great advise on the metro/transportation options. Would stay here again

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was so warm and helpful.The rooms were a good size, comfortable and clean. The only issue that we had that it was a bit noisy at night. Our room was towards the front of the hotel and we heard sirens, the tram cars, cars and car horns throughtout the night making it a bit difficult to sleep.

Hotel is perfect for walking to main points of interest. Lovely new hotel with high end finishing and decor. The rooms were a little warm with the air con not functioning but didn’t matter too much. Highly recommend the hotel!

Went on a budget holiday to Budapest, found this hotel and was amazed at what you get for the price, someone kindly left their prime logged into the huge TV’s in the room, bathroom has a wonderful and updated look to it. Beds were comfy and soft however air conditioning in the room wasn’t too powerful and in the heat it had been while staying there being stuffy at night wasn’t always the most comfortable to start with.

Renovated rooms, designed with fine taste, great room arrangement, there is space for every thing needed and it feel spacious enough. Good aircondition and blackout curtains. Nearby 2 diferent metro lines tram n 4 &6 so it is very convenient to reach everywhere. Friendly and helpull Staff

Excellent hotel, great location, friendly staff. Well maintained, clean, comfy bed and great bathroom. Would certainly stay here again if we come back to Budapest. Windows block pretty much all noise from the outside and no sound from other rooms. Fantastic for public transport connections.

My room was extremely quiet. It was not facing the street so that was very helpful. The hotel was very conveniently located to the Blaha area from which buses and Metro leave . My room was very clean and really well situated. My only areas for improvement: 1) I bring my own coffee equipment so I make coffee every day in my room and the creamers and spoons were not refilled throughout my stay so I had to go to the front desk a few times. 2) And we had a miscommunication when I checked in about breakfast. When she pointed out breakfast on my card holder, I asked her if it was included because I thought it wasn’t and she assured me that it was. However I ended up with a bill for three $18 breakfasts at the end of my stay because it actually was not included. I was explained that because I signed for the breakfast that meant I understood I was being charged for it. I just thought it was a record of who is coming down for breakfast. Oh well. Overall would recommend just make sure you have a clear understanding about breakfast

The staff were awesome! Check-in went smoothly. All were willing to help with recommendations for artisan shops to visit, and activities to do while in Budapest. All were friendly and very welcoming.

Brilliant attentive staff, clean lobby, easy check in and out. Staff provided everything we asked for with great local knowledge. Rooms immaculately clean with a daily service, nothing but high praise for this hotel.

High expectation in this hotel because of the brand name. The hotel did not delivered a Grand Hotel services and amenities. My VIP accesss handed to me at a very late evening and didnt apply in what was stated in my VIP access description. Non chalant and cold treatment crew members who seems like was force to be at work. I should have chosen other hotel than this one. So disappointed.

New upscale boutique hotel. Very clean, friendly with large rooms based on European standards, great breakfast buffet and fun Sky rooftop lounge. Special shoutout to Kristian and Chena for all of your assistance for an early check-in, booking dinner reservations, providing extra towels and arranging breakfast for an early departure. Will definitely stay here next time we’re in Budapest!

At the heart of Budapest city, modern amenities and very polite staff.

Staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel was centrally located on József krt (a major arterial road), with very easy access to the streetcar and metro. The breakfast was also great, with so many options. I appreciated the modern interior finishes and amenities, considering many similarly priced hotels in Budapest are a bit outdated.

Location great, near 2 metro lines. Walking distance to a lot of areas. Hotel very clean with welcoming staff. Breakfast good. Would recommend to stay here. We have been very pleased with all aspects of this stay.

Quarto pequeno mas limpo, hotel reformado, atendimento eficiente, staff atencioso. Localização péssima, área da cidade bem degradada, cheiro de urina na porta do hotel, mendigos e moradores de rua dormindo na calçada do hotel, cabine de telefone com vidro quebrado, ruas adjacentes sujas, sensação de insegurança quando saímos a noite para comer uma pizza. Apesar do hotel ser bom não recomendo pela localização.

Very good location close to transport options. Busy road out front and slightly dodgy areas not far from the front door but not a major issue. Spotlessly clean, lovely roof top bar area with good views across the city. Staff attentive and pleasant. The room was quite spacious with a very nice separate bathroom. Overall, I rate this hotel as good value, well located and a good choice to set up camp for exploration of Budapest.

The property and staff were great, the neighborhood was very dirty. Tram stop very close by. We found the tram system very easy to use to travel to all of Budapest’s best sites. Don’t let the neighborhood dissuade you from staying here.

I knew it was going to be good, but this surpassed my expectations. Fantastic location, helpful staff, great vroom and the best breakfasts ever with a really wide range of food on offer. Wish I’d had champagne now at breakfast! Can’t recommend it highly enough

The hotel is located in a wonderful central location. The staff are polite, informative and welcoming. The breakfast is fantastic, something for all tastes.

The room was lovely and the shower was amazing! Also the breakfast buffet was outstanding. I would highly recommend this hotel and would return to stay there in a heartbeat!

Beautifully decorated both inside and outside. Our room was spacious. It’s a very inviting hotel which is very mature (we were a 26yo couple and felt this was tailored to an older audience). The hotel lobby smelt Devine and really allows you to unwind and relax and staff very attentive. The pillows could be updated as they were super soft and didn’t provide a lot of support. Breakfast was very good quality however not a lot of options if you are veggie (they have fresh fruit, pastries, cakes, scrambled eggs which were AMAZING). We had someone in the room above us that was walking around quite a bit which we could hear in our room but that’s the only criticism. In a great location with the Tram right outside which takes you to the river area and direct to the thermal bath/zoo.
