PARTY HOSTEL - The Canmore Hotel Hostel

Easy self check in, nice size bed, private room came with fridge and microwave!

Its was really clean. Like the electronic lock on door. Like that we have a fridge in our room. Don't like the parking.

You can't ask for a better location than The Canmore Hotel Hostel (or Canmore Party Hostel depending on which site you're booking it through). It's a decent hostel, seems to have a lot of permanent residents though, but that came in handy when the room code didn't work as one of them was able to summon a staff member by text who arrived less than a minute later informed me my room had been changed and there were new codes. So after you book this place you are sent a front door code and room and bed (with door code). There are no staff in the hostel. I guess they turn up to clean it after checkout time. Bathroom was pretty messy as was the kitchen. There's plenty of options to eat close by (expensive) and cheaper ones once you walk a few blocks away. Lots of supermarkets to choose from, I got a roast chicken in one. The street out of town where Flix Bus drops you off is lined with American/Canadian fast food franchises (Flix drops you off at Tim Hortons/Wendys) which is about a twenty minute walk away from the hostel. Easy walk though, no hills. I thought the bar downstairs would be annoying noise wise but it was actually quite pleasant to hear the karaoke, I sat in the entrance room at the bottom of the stairs on the computer and enjoyed it. The only noise that is an issue is the door code pad, every time someone enters the correct number it does a celebratory tune, which is very annoying in the early morning with people getting up to use the bathroom or whatever.

It was fine Saturday night was the noisiest due to lounge downstairs. I was fine average person may need ear plugs weekends. No place to do your own laundry for free I saw. Nice kitchen dining area. There obsessed about leaving your shoes downstairs they do give you slippers.

Great for the nightlife and walkable around downtown. Cheap drink deals for guests in the downstairs pub. No frills but well equipped kitchen. Bed was comfy and staff were helpful. There is no going to bed early on the weekends or sleeping in past 7-7:30 but we didnt mind.

When we arrived we had to leave our shoes on a shelf at the top of the stairs. We knew it was not going to be the Hilton but it was far cry from the hostels I have stayed at before. Granted it is a historical building but this was a little over the top. Not going there ever again. We had to leave the TV on to drown out the drummer in the bar below. Music went on until 4 am. Not recommended if you are not going to party in the bar below all night long.

It was nobody there for the check In. I tried to call the telephone number, but didn't work. During the night it was very cold. The kitchen is not well equipped and there is no storage room. :/ However, the hostel is good located in the middle of the shopping streets.

Was easy to check in. No parking. Was safe.

Self check in was easy and convenient. Cons, DJ night club underneath the hostel, so some nights you can hear the loud music and its very irritating cause you wont be able to sleep at all unless you’re exhausted..

The kitchen is a total mess and not cleaned at all. Kitchen towels were never changed unless one posted a note on the main board. Refrig was never cleaned out of old food. We dumped stuff labled 4 weeks after the guest left. Dishwasher was never emptied and there was no directions on the dishwasher that it was full of clean dishes or to put dirty dishes in it. Need to have plastic bins in the dry food storage with guest name, room and departure date on them like the Calgery hostel had. Need to dump or put in a free bin food that is not in the bins. Need a free bin in the dry and refrig storage area for manager to dump food that guests leave unless he throws it out. Also for guests to leave extra food. Manager lived on site but did not want people to know that so we thought he was far away. Kitchen counters never cleaned. Garbage was overflowing. Manager did not appear to want to work when we paid $140/night USA. Room was OK but heaters on wall broken and parts on the floor. Room was OK. Toilets were OK. Manager did not send a message to new guests that the street was blocked off for several months for activities and to get to a parking place one had to either violate a one way sign or know the trick of how to get to the parking from an alley. Parking places were not marked so cars could bump into each other on going into or out of a space. We think he was short of one or two parking places and overnight parking is not allowed in paid parking. Building needs a full cleaning.

The room looked clean till the sunshine hit under the bed. The dust underneath is thick like it was never cleaned. There's also a couple of used napkins under the bed.

It could’ve been cleaner in the showers and the kitchen…

Great price but music was definitely annoying although I knew what I signed up for. What really threw me off is that I’m not sure if they cleaned my bedding. I found multiple hairs on blanket and pillow it which is really disturbing.

I was very impressed with how clean the room and bathroom was, it wasn’t even loud.

Abby is very effecient and friendly.. He knows his job well and the place is very neat and tidy esp the ladies washrooms and the beds are clean and near. This canmore hotel hostel has provided things that we need in the washroom jut like hotel when u rent. Area is safe and centre of everything..very accessible . I will be back again soon..

They showed us our beds and clearly someone had just slept in them. They wouldn't change the sheets. This place is inhospitable at best. It's extremely hot, hotter than outside. There's a window fan but it doesn't work! The bathrooms look like they've never been cleaned, ohhhhh and the smell. It smells like foot soup.

During our stay the heating didn’t seem to be working in our room and cold air was on constant which made it very cold. I did contact the property but didn’t hear anything back. During our stay we didn’t see anyone at the front desk.

Bed is clean but a guy puke in the stairs and i remove and clean the puke because no one clean the stairs and many users put the feet into the puke. Showers are clean but the toilet not. (diarrhea drops)

This hostel was in downtown (perfect for visiting) but the hostel was not really clean (kitchen and bathroom) and impossible to stay during the day inside it’s to warm and the night it’s just a little better.

Mountain view was awesome and the location is excellent too. In terms of the shares bank room there was 6 bank beds in one room and it feels suffocated. To my surprise the banks were comfortable enough to have a little napping. The music downstairs was loud people were in and out of the room. Overall that’s what you get for the price you paid for.

No bathroom in our room. Extremely noisy until 2am. Too hot. 30 degrees in the room. No AC.

For a place that labels itself "party hostel", I slept pretty well. Room was too warm when I got there (early Sept) but as it cooled down at night and with the fan provided, I was able to get it cool enough to sleep. Sheets and towels were clean, other guests respectful and quiet, private room at a reasonable price (for the area) and right in the heart of town with multiple dining options. Was sent a code ahead of time to get in. Host was very helpful. It worked fine for me and I can\'t complain and glad to save $200 over a night at a hotel.

The hostel is very clean. Other residents in my room are very respectful. The only thing I didn’t like about the hostel was the dorm door lock because it was too loud. Every time someone went to the washroom, the lock go “beep beep beep beep”. Hopefully they can reduce the noise of that lock in the future. But overall, it was a good experience. Good price for a night.

The private rooms are spacious. It doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a hostel except you share a bathroom.

Really noisy bar underneath the hostel till 2am. Otherwise really affordable and was perfect for the night.

I was so happy with my stay there. They got me out of a pinch, and were extremely helpful. It was my first ever stay in a hostel, but I felt really comfortable, and the staff and clientele were very friendly. Will be staying again.

great location as its right in the middle of town centre of canmore. no staff in sight though, they just check people in and out remotely.

This is my second time staying at this property! This time I got a private bedroom and it was great. I stayed here again because the location is phenomenal! Everything is right outside your door, including the bus station right across the street that takes you everywhere you need to go. Will stay here again in the future.

Great location and service. Amenities were convenient and the place was clean and user friendly. Check-in was automated and smooth. I would definitely stay again!

Its was a great stay that too in the middle of downtown With a great view.

The place was not too far from Banff national park, plus the location is surrounded by beautiful mountains.

Although Kitchen is a bit lacking. Needs paper towel or clean cloths . Can’t complain for the price and the staff is so lovely. All in all a wonderful experience!! Thank you staff!!

The kitchen was messy. People didn’t pick up their stuff and left their dishes on the counter. The showers were missing a dry place to change because you’re directly in the shower behind the door.

J’ai bien aimé la chambre qui a du cachet. On peut imaginer l’histoire derrière. La cuisine gagnerait à être améliorée. Absolument rien pour faire du café. Pas cher, presque tout ce qu’il faut, bien situé. Correct si on ne peut pas payer plus.

Everything was perfect. The property is clean as are all amenities! People were helpful and kind and the restaurant downstairs was also great! Looking forward to my next stay!
