El Trovatore Motel

We liked everything. But there was no ice machine. The owner was a wonderful, knowledgeable, funny gentleman. His wife was very nice also. Our room was very cozy. We would definitely come back.

This hotel was clean, but it is definitely a historical classic. Cute how the rooms are theme based. When we initially drove by I was a bit skeptical, but it was fine. No frills, no coffee in the rooms, but Mr. D’s is just down the road and a fun little spot to grab breakfast.

We booked this property for an authentic route 66 feel. We certainly got that … although shower I would not use. Beds were clean. No kettle in the room

no light in the shower faucet knob came off but the place is clean . no ice machine no vending machines .

I enjoyed walking out of my room, my car being 6 steps from my room. GREAT👍

I love the owners they are the sweetest people! The rooms are cute but need a huge update and really deep clean.

Rooms were very outdated. Towels were dirty and very thin. Tub would not drain. Beds o my were very hard. Furniture was falling apart Owner though was nice but would of stayed longer but room conditions were unacceptable

I was looking to explore some Route 66 history, what i discovered was a run down dump. When leaving to get something to eat, I couldn't lock the dead bolt from outside with the key i was given, so i could only lock the door knob which was very flimsy. I pulled my laptop out of the room and put it back in the trunk of my car. The shower smelled of mold and when i turned it on, water pooled around my feet. I was standing in about 3 inches of water by the time my shower was finished; it was gross. I think the owner knows people want to experience the Route 66 vibe and he's taking advantage.

Room was nice bathroom needs updates the bathtub had wood panel over the tub not useable. The shower lacked cleanliness. The bed itself was comfortable and clean .

Honestly didn’t recognize this hotel based on the photos. The owner and his wife are very nice and obviously struggling with a motel that has seen better days. Rustic or run down.. this was definitely rundown with the bathroom sorely in need of some TLC and cleaning. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

This place had so much promise and I hoped it would be a memorable route 66 stay for us. Unfortunately the place is very run down. The final straw for us was a gigantic cockroach (and I mean gigantic) jumping out of our curtains and sprinted across the floor. We had been in the room for less than an hour and grabbed our suitcases and left. We didn’t try to get a refund nor speak to the reception about the issues. We knew that the response we would get wouldn’t be in the realms of professional customer service so we decided to save ourselves the negativity on our trip. We returned the next morning and put the keys into the drop box outside. Listen to the other reviews because they are true.

It is difficult to trade off authentic fixtures and fittings with modern expectations. Old original sinks and shower fittings are good but not the dirty and messy sealant around the fittings

Very original Route 66 motel. Exceptional cleanliness, linens. Cool 50s vibe!

Check in was great. We had an entertaining check-in and received lots of information about the hotel, the city and points of interest. Hotel was a nostalgic motel from the 1950’s but was clean and safe.

Would definitely stay here again! Great place to get off the road for the night and get that Route 66 vibe! Owners are extremely sweet and very informative on the history of Kingman! Very large rooms and COMFORTABLE BEDS!!!

Nice enough - a little rund down, but clean and more of an experience. The AC was very noisy, but it worked.

Love the character of the hotel and it’s charm and how nice of a hotel it must have been in its hay day. Huge rooms and lots of potential to modernize and bring back to its hay day.

The owners have poured so much love into this place. The murals and the individual decor in each room (we had the Audrey Hepburn room) added much to the experience. We were having trouble with the wifi (we were trying to watch a streaming religious service) and the maintenance guy came to our room two or three times in the evening to try to resolve it. It never got resolved, but you can't top the effort and service. Sam the owner is an original; he's going to give you the history of the motel and the town. Checking into this place isn't so much a formality as it is a commitment. Monica his wife is charming and so proud of what they've done with the place. El Trovatore is a don't-miss on Route 66.

Each room has a different theme. Although old, I like the classic nature of the room I'm in (has a James Dean theme). Owner/manager Sam is also a delight at check-in. He regaled me with stories if the history of the area. A true delight to talk to him.

This is a wonderful historic motel, run by friendly enthusiast people. We enjoyed learning about the property and Kingman’s history from them.

This spot had a lot of charm and character! The owner was very knowledgeable about the hotel, the area as well as surrounding areas. This was one of the most fun stops on our trip! The hotel is historic so it could be thought of as a bit rustic but it doesn't feel like it.

部屋は何とか標準レベルでした。ただ、チェックインの際、雰囲気のあるスタッフの方からとても丁寧に街の案内をしていただきました。街の歴史や今の概要、おすすめのレストランやバーなど。キングマンの街を愛しているのが良く伝わりました。これに尽きます。

Super friendly and helpful staff. Best-ever intro to the area, attractions, history, restaurants, etc.

Be warned that if you book this motel with the “Pay at Property” option that Expedia gives you, you might not have a reservation when you get there. Your room will have been given away to someone else who chose the “Pay Now” option. Anyway, that’s what we think happened to our reservation. We are not sure that’s what happened, but it sure looks that way; like the owner doesn’t want to honor the “Pay at Property” option or else he doesn’t understand it. When we arrived on Aug 13, 2024, we were told we had no reservation even though we had a confirmation email from Expedia showing that the room had been booked on July 23rd. I showed the owner the email and he wouldn’t even look at it; kept insisting that we did not make a reservation. Then he told us that it was because our card had been declined. That is ridiculous! There is no reason for our card to have been declined and we wouldn’t have gotten a confirmation email if our card had been declined. Also, I had used it that same week to book all our other hotels for this trip and had no problem checking into those hotels. I used the “Pay at Property” option for all of them, I might add. This is a very cute motel. We stayed there two years ago and wanted to stay there again this year. We were disappointed. Thank goodness it was only 5 PM when we arrived so we had time to find another hotel. I don’t think we will ever try staying at El Trovatore again. We are too upset.

This place is located superbly to get into downtown or new Kingman parts and it looks just gorgeous! But the lightning within the room/bathroom is too dark and it could be much cleaner in general. Otherwise a fun place to stay for one night and the owner is such a really nice guy!

The outside was really cool looking, quiet spot but the bathroom was especially dated. However overall an ok stay for the night, no issues, super friendly manager.

Kingman, AZ, hat im neuen Teil eine große Anzahl an Restsurants. Die Dambar/ Steakhaus sind meine absoluten Favoriten. Mr. D‘z im Stil der fünfziger Jahre bietet Burger, Chips, Milchshakes, also alles was schön dick macht😅

Surprisingly cute,useful decor. Clean. Old bathroom fixtures. Good food nearby.

Short two day stay, more than fulfilled expectations for a vintage hotel. Great location. Sam is a great host. Loved the themed Marilyn Monroe room! Very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again.

If you are traveling Route 66 and want the tru feel then staying at El Trovatore is great for the vibe. No luxury but clean and comfatable. loctaed close to old Kingman Historic store and restaurants and great part of Route 66 Kingman including a Mr. "D's" Dinner.
