Hotel maintenance appalling, food below average, description and photos do not reflect the hotel is split on 2 sites and you take a bus from beachside to hillside to use main pool (don’t book a sea view room on beachside) on balcony you have AC unit above your head with leaking pipes and mold, club room was appalling with aircon unit leaking down wall, carpet threadbare and rippled, windows covered with “torn” pieces of wallpaper, check in was a group check in, far from a 4.5 star experience…I cleaned myself the “quiet pool” two (2) days running as nobody cleaned that pool, gardeners cleaned the fishpond more often, bottom of pool had large sections missing, main pool had multiply tiles missing, everywhere you look maintenance was required, the free golf carts that move you to and from your room on hillside take forever as many used to move staff around complex before guests, free internet don’t bother as barely works, you can buy expensive internet that only works on a single device and often stops, in an all inclusive resort (or any hotel in the world) you would expect to be able to stay connected without additional cost. Resort is adults only but day time entertainment was cheap and poor, nothing short of what a child would find entertaining, which makes no sense for an adults only resort? Lost count of times things run out. Management need to deal with grumpy staff, I can barley find anything positive about Sandals resort. Will never book Sandals again in my lifetime.

We spent a week at Sandals Ochi, and had a fantastic time. My only complaint would be that the main pool with the swim up bar on the beach side needs to be completely refurbished, many many tiles are missing and it just looks terrible. Staff is wonderful, food and drinks where great. So many dining options, hope to go back next year.

Staff were fantastic. Food was good but some of the restaurants weren't open when they said they would be. Condition of pools was below average. Both my wife and I cut our feet on broken tiles on the pool bottom. Could hear everyone revving their engines on the street outside the resort.

A great choice of different pools to where you can relax, have a drink and meet people. Having access to both sides of the resort was great via a short bus ride. There are quite a few restaurants options, however, we found only the sushi restaurant really stood out. There’s a speakeasy as well, which is fun. The bartenders at the swim up bars can seem a little gruff and uninterested, but that’s our only critique. The hospitality staff were friendly and excellent.

The Property states that it is 5 star but inorder to be 5 star the property needs to be remolded and the pools are in need of tiles and plaster also the pools need to be cleaned more offen. The property also states that they have premium liquor Jack Daniels and Jamerson was there so called premium top shelf liquor and the beer selection was mainly one local Overall we have been to a number of inclsive locations and I would rate this location at 3.5 stars.

Enjoyed our stay at Sandals Ochi and the resort, entertainment, and activities. Pros Most of the food was good Lots of activities Butler service was solid Room was adequately stocked and cleaned Steel drum band was the best show I’ve ever seen! Cons Drinks were ‘mid’ Not enough chairs for seating around pool or beach unless you got there early. The entertainment staff was way too pushy and didn’t like ‘no’ for participation. May be the culture but no means no. Not everyone wants to participate. Other notes: You have to take a shuttle to hilltop and then seaside anytime You are involved with activities or dining. It came often but does take a lot of time out of your stay. Lots of bees around the bar but everyone got used to it. Staff were friendly but entertainment staff as I said before was real pushy. Be prepared for their extreme persistence. Italian was really good. Very clean but expect bugs everywhere you go (including rooms). They can’t help ALL the bugs. It’s not too invasive.

Sandals Ochi is a beautiful property with a good range of included activities, friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. There is a HUGE amount of dining options. We weren't able to visit every restaurant during our week-long stay. Would definitely choose Sandals again in the future.

This was our first time staying at a sandals resort. The staff was great. However that’s where it ends. There is no Caribbean vibe. I wish I could add pics, broken furniture in the rooms. The hallways had both mold and bleach stains in the carpets. Bars are limited. Food is avg at best. To say the least we were not happy with the resort.

Hotel was very dirty. My husband and I booked an all inclusive for our anniversary which should have been couples only and there were children running around. The room was dirty we were denied room service for cleaning. We were denied clean towels and clean sheets throughout our whole stay, we had to keep asking for new towels, the floors were filthy we came into a new room. Upon arrival the sheets were already dirty and stain with food marks on them. We had to request someone to come into the room and clean it again. The refrigerator was not stopped throughout or stay there was limited options for food . The beach was covered in stones and rocks with made it difficult for us to walk on the beach or enter the ocean, the boardwalk on the beach is condemned, and the wood is falling into the ocean. The cabanas on top of the boardwalk is also condemned and falling as well, which Made it unsafe, and it was blocked off, so that we couldn’t walk the boardwalk there were wires hanging out of one of the rest restaurant that was uncovered, which also made it unsafe because the restaurant is right by the ocean so if you did get into the ocean and you’re wet and you’re walking into this establishment, we purchase a balcony with a garden view that was false. It wasn’t a garden view. It was a pool surrounded by trees. The restaurant was flooded with stray cats that was entering in and out of the kitchen, jumping on tables and chairs. No wifi the entire stay.

The property and service was awesome. The butlers were great. They helped us navigate our way around the property, made great dining suggestions and transported us to and from our room. Great personalities and service. We had an ant infestation in our clothes closet and could not put our clothes in it. They sprayed the second night and mostly resolved the problem. Minor inconvenience compared to the wonderful time we spent at the resort. Will highly recommend it for couples stay.

The property needs updating. The bathroom tub has stains. The carpet in the hallway is dirty. The Sky dining room floor close to the kitchen is always greasy. I have seen many near accidents from the greasy for both guests and workers. The workers try to keep the place clean and tidy but there is little that can be done from lack of property maintenance. The New Year's Eve party was great.

This resort was overrun by cats, they were literally everywhere. It was really disturbing to see them in the restaurants, I think that is so unsanitary. People were feeding them and they felt too comfortable walking around like they owned the place. My bathroom was also covered in ants. Property definitely needs a makeover.

The staff at this resort were amazing! The hotel is outdated but some rooms are getting updated. The bed we had was absolutely the worst we have have stayed on- like a super 8 mattress in a supposedly 5 star resort. Food was decent and never had an issue with any lines. Drinks overall were very good and they were always willing to make you whatever you needed. If you don't like stairs this is not the resort for you as it's on a hill.

This was a dream come true. I recently retired and Sandals was my choice to celebrate my retirement and 42 years of marriage. You have the most friendly workers ever. They were genuine, pleasant and outstanding. The rooms had the best mattress ever. The ocean was as close as opening our balcony doors.

Do your research before you book ocean view room at the Sandals Ocho, Great House. The Great house ocean view room is NOT ocean view and the information about it online is misleading. The ocean view is very far because you are practically on a mountain across the street from the beach and the view is panoramic and obstructed by trees. I told the lady that brought us to the room about my dissatisfaction and she said she will ask if they can move us but no one responded in two days. She did not tell us about the orientation so we had to learn to find our way. Tried to call room service and the phone rang with no answer so we gave up on that. No snacks in the room fridge; just a couple of beers, water, pop, and two bottles of wine in the room. they were power washing the roof by the pool and that was very annoying. Hardly any staff at the pool to get drinks or food orders, you need to get your own. No dessert or coffee shops. Coffee machines and jars of cookies available. Food at the walk in restaurants is mediocre. Reservations only restaurants, Kelly’s was good but Valentino was not. I ate a raw shrimp in a skewer at Neptune. Glad I did not get sick. Maxine in guest experience moved us to a much better beach ocean view room and gave us 200 credit which was nice . No wifi in the room though. The beach bar is right below on the first floor and music was loud way past midnight. Property and furniture need updating. She said they started updates on the top floors.

The hotel is not 5 star. I would say 4 stars at a push. Food was catered to Americans and not authentic to Jamaica. The rooms were too cold and couldn’t switch off the air con otherwise condensation would occur and the walls and ceiling would leak. The spa was extremely expensive.

We had a great stay, the staff is so friendly and laid back. My first all inclusive and first trip to Jamaica so I can’t compare it to other stays but we met a couple that has gone there every year for 15 years!!!! The event staff made all the events so fun. Our room was always clean, possibly recently remodeled because it looked more up to date aesthetically but all the rooms were nice in our group. The rooms in the Riviera building are big and conveniently located. I would stay again!

I was there for a wedding. I landed on Friday at 11:04am - United. I believe we boarded the at 11:25am. I didn't expect the Sandals bus will take a little over 3 hours to get the resort. The stop and then a passenger wanted to stop at a ATM which took another 20 minutes. I arrived at the resort at 2:45pm. The welcome reception for the wedding guest was 3pm at the Dunns River sandals. My room wasn't ready so i asked if they can get me into a room, because my bus to take me to Sandals Dunn Rivers will be here at 3pm. I told the front desk lady that I'm late because your sandals bus took forever to get here. Outside of the above, I had to get my room switch on Saturday, because my phone didn't work for me to call out to the front desk, room service, gym, etc.... Also the bathroom facet did not work, the water was didn't come out, I had to use the tub to brush my teeth and wash my face.

Great location, but the communication was not good. Had no running water for over 5 hours, and there was no communication as to why and when. It was not until I went to front desk that they mentioned that they turned off the water . That included no running water to use the bathrooms, which were pretty rough as people left surprises in the public washrooms. Also had a terrible time at the Japanese restaurant. We were no served for 1.5 hours and I had to go to management. They were understaffed and I believe overbooked, with 3 chefs and over 8 tables with a lot of patrons. That was not the service I would be expecting at Sandals especially for the price I paid for me and my wife. I expect that at other resorts but not sandals. Again the staff were good, but communication and the restaurant is where the rating was bad for us.

Used to be a huge fan of sandals with the Pride of Jamaican ownership. Unfortunately this property has lost its way by being very understaffed from restaurants to delivery water to the room. Missing its old personal touch and vip flare that I’d promote to others of when asked where to visit in Jamaica . Lacking its charm that it had for several years. I don’t blame the workers as they were all very pleasant and handled complaints professionally but rather the senior management of this property who need to decide whether reviews matter to them because they aren’t listening and not once did they reach out to me during my stay even when requested that of them. Lastly my loyalty status since 2009 wasn’t even recognized and I now agree with the poor reviews over the last few years.

Only downside was during our departure for waiting for the shuttle bus to take us the scheduled time, they were 1:20 mins late and didn’t notify us of any delays. They could have communicated better with our departure timing.

Our first time to Jamaica and we absolutely loved it. Wish it wasn’t such a long drive from the airport to the resort. Also the shuttle that takes you to the excursions was a little scary how they drive there. The lighting when walking around at night needed to be better. Food, entertainment and activities were fantastic. Had a small lizard guest in our room which I didn’t care for but dealt with it. Will definitely stay at Sandals again.

Just beautiful property. Well maintained. Food good and interesting. Would be difficult for those with mobility limitations. Stairs everywhere. Staff friendly and helpful but uninformed. Got incorrect information about hours, entertainment etc. Water bottles everywhere and no recycling. Unecessary b/c water is safe and good tasting. Cocktails creative and usually tasty. Music and entertainment wonderful. Something for everyone. Would go back for sure.

Sandals ochi is in close proximity to all the attractions which makes it a desirable location to stay. In room was dinning difficult to get a hold off. Butler service was average, nothing special but butler will ask for gratituty at checkout. Soy restaurant chef Richard was very accomodating in producing delicious vegetarian food. We loved his food and chef at kellys restaurant made an awesome tofu dish to accommodate us. Showers take long time to get warm water. Friendly people working throughout Sandals. Very good options of water activities on site. Overall good stay.

Positiv zu bemerken: jetzt, im April 2022 ist Urlaub wieder wie 2019 möglich:ohne Maske! Wir waren 3 Wochen im April/Mai da und haben keine anderen Europäer getroffen, es ist alles auf Amerikaner ausgelegt, die max. 3-7 Tage dort sind. Die Anlage liegt bergauf, sodass es extrem viele Treppen gibt und steile Wege zu den Villen. Also keinesfalls für Gäste mit Bewegungseinschränkungen zu empfehlen. Dauerbeschallung am Pool und am Beach. Fußläufig außerhalb des Resorts gibt es nichts, wo man hinlaufen möchte. Taxi sehr teuer ( 2h 40$) Zimmer ( wir waren in einer Butler-Villa) sind leider sehr abgewohnt, Bett ist 96cm! hoch, die Toilette 37 cm! tief! Es war täglich eine Challenge für uns ( Wir sind 1.61m und 1.90m groß) Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam ( unsere beiden Butler Roosevelt und Moria besonders). Essen auf hohem Niveau, sehr lecker und vielfältig. Golfplatz gut zu spielen, Caddy obligatorisch, sehr hilfreich. War schön, aber wir würden nicht mehr hinfliegen.

Had a really great experience at Sandals Ochi. The staff is very welcoming and polite. The resort is a bit outdated but it’s still nice and clean and convenient. Did not have one problem on my stay. Food was really good specially the restaurants that you had to reserve. Drinks were really good, they can make you pretty much whatever you ask for. One stand out employee was Jason from the pool bar. Great personality and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and I will visit again.

Great vacation. Food seemed to be the same across most of the resort. A couple of the restaurants had really good food, otherwise it was just “ok”. Overall I’d come back. But will try a different sandals next time

Noisy with pop music blaring most day and night in nearly every area; food was very average and often items not available on the menu; half the staff seemed they didn’t want to be there; everything had a rule with no judgement applied; dirty swimming pools; doing any trip was excessively expensive; not worth the cost.

Great location, but the communication was not good. Had no running water for over 5 hours, and there was no communication as to why and when. It was not until I went to front desk that they mentioned that they turned off the water . That included no running water to use the bathrooms, which were pretty rough as people left surprises in the public washrooms. Also had a terrible time at the Japanese restaurant. We were no served for 1.5 hours and I had to go to management. They were understaffed and I believe overbooked, with 3 chefs and over 8 tables with a lot of patrons. That was not the service I would be expecting at Sandals especially for the price I paid for me and my wife. I expect that at other resorts but not sandals. Again the staff were good, but communication and the restaurant is where the rating was bad for us.

Long waits for food in most restaurants. Dinners room approximately 2.5 hours at both Le Gourmet and Seaside. Food was below average considering the wait. Website was incorrect in location of Le Gourmet and menus didn’t match. Staff left a little to desire in knowledge several times we got different directions from different staff members. Some staff members were great though especially Andrew at the pool bar . Mini bar was only filled completely on one occasion during the 4 night stay. Initially we came into the room with a bottle of wine at the mini bar after we consumed the wine relaxing the first night it was never replaced.

A great choice of different pools to where you can relax, have a drink and meet people. Having access to both sides of the resort was great via a short bus ride. There are quite a few restaurants options, however, we found only the sushi restaurant really stood out. There’s a speakeasy as well, which is fun. The bartenders at the swim up bars can seem a little gruff and uninterested, but that’s our only critique. The hospitality staff were friendly and excellent.

Positiv zu bemerken: jetzt, im April 2022 ist Urlaub wieder wie 2019 möglich:ohne Maske! Wir waren 3 Wochen im April/Mai da und haben keine anderen Europäer getroffen, es ist alles auf Amerikaner ausgelegt, die max. 3-7 Tage dort sind. Die Anlage liegt bergauf, sodass es extrem viele Treppen gibt und steile Wege zu den Villen. Also keinesfalls für Gäste mit Bewegungseinschränkungen zu empfehlen. Dauerbeschallung am Pool und am Beach. Fußläufig außerhalb des Resorts gibt es nichts, wo man hinlaufen möchte. Taxi sehr teuer ( 2h 40$) Zimmer ( wir waren in einer Butler-Villa) sind leider sehr abgewohnt, Bett ist 96cm! hoch, die Toilette 37 cm! tief! Es war täglich eine Challenge für uns ( Wir sind 1.61m und 1.90m groß) Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam ( unsere beiden Butler Roosevelt und Moria besonders). Essen auf hohem Niveau, sehr lecker und vielfältig. Golfplatz gut zu spielen, Caddy obligatorisch, sehr hilfreich. War schön, aber wir würden nicht mehr hinfliegen.

Sandals Ochi is a beautiful property with a good range of included activities, friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. There is a HUGE amount of dining options. We weren't able to visit every restaurant during our week-long stay. Would definitely choose Sandals again in the future.
