I really I’d recommend this property. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. The grounds are well maintained and the property is beautiful. Nice long stretches of beach to walk, too. The rooms were quite spacious as well! Just a couple of suggestions for improvement … 1) Central bar (or two!) is very much needed. Somewhere to go after the sun begins to set to just sit and have a drink vs having to be at an actual restaurant. A lobby bar and/or an outdoor bar would be a perfect addition. 2) More food variety on the buffets. We learned a little late that ordering off the menu helps in this regard, but I think even just a few additions like more fresh fruit options at breakfast, oatmeal, and then more salad/fresh veggie options at lunch would go a long way. 3) When it’s time to remodel/refresh the rooms, the bathroom could use some work. It was VERY small. Especially for 4 people, but it would even bee very cramped for just 2. Again, I’ve stayed at many all inclusive in various parts of Mexico - including the Grand Velas - and this is an excellent options; specially for families on a budget.

Very disappointing stay, especially for the price. There is literally only one bar - and that is the swim up bar!! They try to say the lobby bar is a bar- it’s in a closet!! There is no actual bar on site where you can just listen to music and interact with other guests. The worst all-inclusive I have ever been to for entertainment factors (and food!). The first night was a Mexican celebration- horrible food in a convention type room with bright lights. I literally could only eat the rice and beans- and I really dislike rice and beans!!! Chicken was undercooked and red, all other food was just horrible. Except the churros- they were actually really good and wish I’d gotten more! With all the options in the area- they really need to step up the game! Room was good, had to resort to Netflix at night since they had no entertainment- so thankful for streaming services in the room, and room service!! Pool was nice, but they need an adults only pool!

Hard-working, friendly staff especially in restaurants. Food varied from fair to excellent, best in "gourmet" Andrea restaurant. Pools were nice. Despite notices to the contrary, people persisted in reserving chairs early in the morning. Although threatened with their belongings being removed and stored, it was not enforced. Pickleball courts (and probably tennis) needed cleaning: dangerously slippery. Our room was nice but noisy almost every morning with staff unloading supplies and working below.

Small but compact for walking. Grounds are flat and good for disabled. Older building but totally adequate. Two Restaurants, but Fantastic food on a rotating menu (not Cisco garbage like the chain hotels). Good AC, Good pools. Beach is clean sand and swimmable but waves can be rough. Little kids can play in the sand and stay shallow. Resort could use more chairs or enforce double Staking Policy better as too many people claim areas at the beach and pool in excess numbers which is very annoying. Special place in hell for the tatted Karen at the beach who got called out for that (you know who you are). Good drinks. Overall, A and have no complaints. Family was happy and want to return next year. Be aware that the 1 bedroom suites have 1 bathroom which is a bit atypical.

Excellent staff and service. Loved the variety in the swimming pools. Property is well maintained. We upgraded to a 3 bedroom suite with a private balcony and a hot tub and it was totally worth the extra expenditure.

Loved the nature, well kept grounds and family friendly atmosphere. Swim up bar was closed for most of our stay for maintenance which is fine. Just not many other options on areas to get a drink. I will say something changed within the last year. The drinks especially margaritas weren't as good as our previous 2 stays. The food across the board also seemed a step below from what we were used to on this property. Maybe it was an off visit but we will be back to see. We still love this place and will be back and hopefully things will be like they used to be.

Pretty much everything about this property met our expectations. The food quality for all inclusive was great, top shelf liquors at the bars 1800, Don Julio etc... the staff was friendly and attentive, the room service was never any longer than 10 minutes, the grounds and pool were very well maintained if you want a tropical vibe resort in PV this is it. The beach was clean and is more of a private feel with only 2-3 vendors at a time which was nice because you tell them no one time and you're good for the rest of the day you're not being bothered or haggled every 10 mins so you can actually relax unlike the public beaches. My only critique which isn't a deal breaker for me but may be for other people isthe fact that there are 3 pools on the property each one seeming like it was designed to have it's own vibe, but they weren't really used that way...1 of them being a kids only pool and the other 2 are the big pools which are connected by a lazy river, 1 is more of a serene vibe for (laying out, reading, napping) it has a lot of shade, a rock waterfall, there's no music it's obviously the quiet pool. The other big pool which is the closest to the beach has all the action (swim up bar, music, water sports but the adults with kids never took their kids to the kids pool they were in the pool with the bar and the relaxing pool at the same time you couldn't really escape them if you wanted to so if you're looking for an adults only pool experience this may not be the place for you.

Had an exceptional experience. This was our most relaxing vacation to date. Kids club was excellent with a whole day of scheduled activities- tennis lessons, arts and crafts, movies with popcorn, Disney inspired daily performances, board games, video games. The teachers made all kids feel included. All hotel staff was so kind and just seemed happy to work here. No birds or bugs to bother you because of the resident hawk on property. The adult schedule included beach volleyball, water aerobics, ping pong, yoga. We even played tennis and tried pickleball. Nightly performances in the evening- casino and karaoke, dance performances, mime show, acrobatics show. All female Mariachi band nightly at dinner. Shout out to our man Alberto who made our daily breakfast a lovely experience. We had an amazing time and will be back!

This is a nice property in a great location, with friendly and helpful staff. The resort is very clean, the pools are large, and while the beach is rocky, the pools are a great place to spend the day. There are only two restaurants, but the menus rotate daily with different themes (Italian, Mexican, Asian, etc.), and the quality was better than most all-inclusives. The Marina location is also a plus, with plenty of walkable restaurants and bars if you prefer dining off-property. Room choice matters a lot here. Do not book a Studio—upgrade to a one-bedroom Suite. The difference is significant: nearly twice the size, plus a balcony and a view. The Studio is okay size, but it feels claustrophobic since the only window faces an interior hallway with constant foot traffic. I would not recommend this property for couples, especially during peak periods. I visited between Christmas and New Year’s, and the hotel was nearly full, with many multi-generation families and young children (babies and toddlers). The gym was often overcrowded, and it was difficult to find shaded pool loungers. It’s a great option for families with kids, but it didn’t feel well-suited for a couples’ getaway. I’d also skip the spa—it’s fine, but extremely overpriced for what you get.

We had a truly pleasant stay! The accommodations and overall experience were excellent. Everything was well taken care of, making it easy to relax and enjoy our time. The only small suggestion would be to clean the swimming pool more frequently throughout the day—but aside from that, everything was wonderful.

Booked last minute after another hotel failed us. Rooms are large but 90s dated but very clean and comfortable and have a large balcony. Everyone loved the rain shower which was like standing under a waterfall. Property was great as were the pools, lots of people but didn't feel crowded. We only did the reservation only dinner one night and it was pretty bad but that might have been because it was Asian night. The regular restaurant by the beach was consistently good so we had breakfast and dinner there. On Thanksgiving they had a great setup that included that restaurant and part of the beach with carving stations for turkey, ham, and prime rib as well as a bunch of buffet options. I liked the Marina location, very safe to walk around at night and despite being next to the airport we really only noticed the planes out on the beach. With a remodel this will live up to its luxury rating.

Great view from the room, amenities in the room were good.. we stayed at the 1 bedroom deluxe. There was a misunderstanding about housekeeping and room was not cleaned for a day, but it was cleaned immediately once we called and let them know. The hotel pool and kid zone was great for relaxation. Restaurants had delicious food served every day with wide variety. Room service was timely as well. Overall a wonderful experience! Will definitely visit again..

Visited with my son and mom. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. Great view, loved the balcony. Only complained was the room smelled strange due to the humidity but they did bring a dehumidifier when we called in. It helped some but the smelled lingered. My son really enjoyed the pool and lazy river. My mom and I appreciated the staff and how wonderful they all were. Room floor was dirty -- dust bunnies along the walls, grass too; lots of exterior deferred maintenance (balcony railings, paint). Peacock family was a pleasant surprise.

Wir bekamen ein Zimmer welches nur Fenster zu einen Flur hatte. Diese ließen sich nicht öffnen und in diesem Zimmer hat es sehr muffig gerochen. I really I’d recommend this property. The staff was very friendly and the service was excellent. The grounds are well maintained and the property is beautiful. Nice long stretches of beach to walk, too. The rooms were quite spacious as well! Just a couple of suggestions for improvement … 1) Central bar (or two!) is very much needed. Somewhere to go after the sun begins to set to just sit and have a drink vs having to be at an actual restaurant. A lobby bar and/or an outdoor bar would be a perfect addition. 2) More food variety on the buffets. We learned a little late that ordering off the menu helps in this regard, but I think even just a few additions like more fresh fruit options at breakfast, oatmeal, and then more salad/fresh veggie options at lunch would go a long way. 3) When it’s time to remodel/refresh the rooms, the bathroom could use some work. It was VERY small. Especially for 4 people, but it would even bee very cramped for just 2. Again, I’ve stayed at many all inclusive in various parts of Mexico - including the Grand Velas - and this is an excellent options; specially for families on a budget.

Great property overall, with exceptional service, very nicely maintained grounds, excellent pools and overall comfortable rooms. We booked a one-bedroom suite that says it "sleeps 4", thinking there was a pull-out sofa in the living room, but it's just two fixed couches - no bed. They are not comfortable for an adult to sleep on. They were able to bring a rollaway bed, but just a twin size. The dining options were the most disappointing, being that there are only two restaurants, and the food quality and selection was ok, but not great in our opinion compared to another resort we have stayed at. The proximity to the airport is very convenient but you do see and hear airplanes taking off on a fairly regular basis every day, especially in the afternoon. Overall a nice resort with great service that could be an exceptional resort with another restaurant option or two and an elevated menu.

Small but compact for walking. Grounds are flat and good for disabled. Older building but totally adequate. Two Restaurants, but Fantastic food on a rotating menu (not Cisco garbage like the chain hotels). Good AC, Good pools. Beach is clean sand and swimmable but waves can be rough. Little kids can play in the sand and stay shallow. Resort could use more chairs or enforce double Staking Policy better as too many people claim areas at the beach and pool in excess numbers which is very annoying. Special place in hell for the tatted Karen at the beach who got called out for that (you know who you are). Good drinks. Overall, A and have no complaints. Family was happy and want to return next year. Be aware that the 1 bedroom suites have 1 bathroom which is a bit atypical.

Booked last minute after another hotel failed us. Rooms are large but 90s dated but very clean and comfortable and have a large balcony. Everyone loved the rain shower which was like standing under a waterfall. Property was great as were the pools, lots of people but didn't feel crowded. We only did the reservation only dinner one night and it was pretty bad but that might have been because it was Asian night. The regular restaurant by the beach was consistently good so we had breakfast and dinner there. On Thanksgiving they had a great setup that included that restaurant and part of the beach with carving stations for turkey, ham, and prime rib as well as a bunch of buffet options. I liked the Marina location, very safe to walk around at night and despite being next to the airport we really only noticed the planes out on the beach. With a remodel this will live up to its luxury rating.

Great view from the room, amenities in the room were good.. we stayed at the 1 bedroom deluxe. There was a misunderstanding about housekeeping and room was not cleaned for a day, but it was cleaned immediately once we called and let them know. The hotel pool and kid zone was great for relaxation. Restaurants had delicious food served every day with wide variety. Room service was timely as well. Overall a wonderful experience! Will definitely visit again..

This is a nice property in a great location, with friendly and helpful staff. The resort is very clean, the pools are large, and while the beach is rocky, the pools are a great place to spend the day. There are only two restaurants, but the menus rotate daily with different themes (Italian, Mexican, Asian, etc.), and the quality was better than most all-inclusives. The Marina location is also a plus, with plenty of walkable restaurants and bars if you prefer dining off-property. Room choice matters a lot here. Do not book a Studio—upgrade to a one-bedroom Suite. The difference is significant: nearly twice the size, plus a balcony and a view. The Studio is okay size, but it feels claustrophobic since the only window faces an interior hallway with constant foot traffic. I would not recommend this property for couples, especially during peak periods. I visited between Christmas and New Year’s, and the hotel was nearly full, with many multi-generation families and young children (babies and toddlers). The gym was often overcrowded, and it was difficult to find shaded pool loungers. It’s a great option for families with kids, but it didn’t feel well-suited for a couples’ getaway. I’d also skip the spa—it’s fine, but extremely overpriced for what you get.

Velas Vallarta is our new resort of choice. This is our second time vacationing here for short visits 4 to 5 days and so far so pleasant. We’ve been lucky enough to enjoy barbecues on the beach both times outstanding cuisine and entertainment poolside service is above bar, courteous and professional always. The sweets are perfect long rooms with full-size bathrooms, kitchens, and living room rooms. We love our balconies in the second building. We’ve been lucky enough to be on the sixth and seventh floors which have incredible views of the grounds and the ocean. We love Velas Vallarta and we look forward to our next visit.

We absolutely loved this place! Stayed for 5 days in late February. The property is beautiful and the pool and walking path area is perfectly manicured. I know you hear reviews that say how friendly staff are, but it is true here. Everyone and I mean everyone was open and helpful. It really felt like they went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Have to give a shout to Ricardo at the La Ribera restaurant on the beach. He adopted us gringos and made sure we had a good table and had everything we wanted. They even cooked one of the fish I caught that morning for our dinner. I could go on and on about how much we loved this place but there is only so much room here. Bottom line is to just go there. I guarantee you will enjoy it! It's the closest thing to paradise we've encountered.

Kids club was excellent with a whole day of scheduled activities- tennis lessons, arts and crafts, movies with popcorn, Disney inspired daily performances, board games, video games. The teachers made all kids feel included. All hotel staff was so kind and just seemed happy to work here. No birds or bugs to bother you because of the resident hawk on property. The adult schedule included beach volleyball, water aerobics, ping pong, yoga. We even played tennis and tried pickleball. Nightly performances in the evening- casino and karaoke, dance performances, mime show, acrobatics show. All female Mariachi band nightly at dinner. Shout out to our man Alberto who made our daily breakfast a lovely experience. We had an amazing time and will be back!

Even though it was all inclusive, and there was a buffet, we decided only to go with ordering food either in our room or in the restaurants. There one buffet restaurant and one Italian restaurant that we had to make a reservation for dinner. We tipped generously and we were treated very nicely. The only negative about this resort was the beach. The ocean is not swimming. The water was murky and gray!

Un buffett aceptable..los dormitorios con su cocineta más q cómodo con un elevador para la comodidad familiar un entorno con la vegetación fuera de serie lo único q no me gustó fue la playa mucha piedra y un sucia por los ríos..q desembocan en la playa y el hotel está muy cerca de ese río. Booked last minute after another hotel failed us. Rooms are large but 90s dated but very clean and comfortable and have a large balcony. Everyone loved the rain shower which was like standing under a waterfall. Property was great as were the pools, lots of people but didn't feel crowded. We only did the reservation only dinner one night and it was pretty bad but that might have been because it was Asian night. The regular restaurant by the beach was consistently good so we had breakfast and dinner there. On Thanksgiving they had a great setup that included that restaurant and part of the beach with carving stations for turkey, ham, and prime rib as well as a bunch of buffet options. I liked the Marina location, very safe to walk around at night and despite being next to the airport we really only noticed the planes out on the beach. With a remodel this will live up to its luxury rating.

The Velas Vallarta Suites is a perfect place for family of couples vacation. The service is the best, everybody there was focus on taking care of our needs. The location if very convenient, a few minutes from the international airport, right on the beach, walking distance to the Marina golf course. There are activities everyday. I score this place a 10/10.

Great hotel for relaxation and family time! I stayed for 9 days with my husband and our 2 children (7 and 13). Property was always well manicured and clean. Pool water was clean and inviting. Food at Andreas far exceeded our expectations...everything we had was delicious! All service staff were super attentive...they anticipated what was needed even before we asked. Our room was always cleaned daily and our fridge was stocked with drinks. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay...book it, you won't regret it.

We really enjoyed our stay! The pool and beach were both good places to relax and enjoy the ocean, and there were plenty of chairs in both locations with canopies. Also, no bugs at the beach. Wonderful! The food was good for breakfast and lunch, but we opted to go to the marina, which had better food for dinner. The lighthouse is a great dinner spot! We felt safe walking to the marina area, which I found to be a big plus of staying here in Puerta Vallarta. (Feeling comfortable to go off property.) It is very close to the airport, so planes are frequently in the air. The noise didn’t bother me, but it’s definitely noticeable.

Rooms are nice and clean. Staff does a great job with the upkeep. Looks like the complex was a condo/timeshare. The dining is minimal but they do a great job grilling around the beach.

La atención fue muy buena por parte del personal, es un hotel agradable para ir con niños (8 y 10), sin embargo, mis dos hijos se enfermaron con la comida, con vomito y diarrea, lo mismo paso con el hijo de 9 años de la amiga con quien viajaba, por lo que, es un punto que el Hotel debe resolver con carácter de Urgencia!

Great property overall, with exceptional service, very nicely maintained grounds, excellent pools and overall comfortable rooms. We booked a one-bedroom suite that says it "sleeps 4", thinking there was a pull-out sofa in the living room, but it's just two fixed couches - no bed. They are not comfortable for an adult to sleep on. They were able to bring a rollaway bed, but just a twin size. The dining options were the most disappointing, being that there are only two restaurants, and the food quality and selection was ok, but not great in our opinion compared to another resort we have stayed at. The proximity to the airport is very convenient but you do see and hear airplanes taking off on a fairly regular basis every day, especially in the afternoon. Overall a nice resort with great service that could be an exceptional resort with another restaurant option or two and an elevated menu.

The food options are very limited and whatever they do offer is terrible. Only 2 restaurants, same food every day. Most is not edible. Ordered chicken tenders 3 times and all 3 times chicken was raw. The fish dishes, I can’t even say it was fish, smelled and tasted horrible. No kid friendly food. Only decent food was breakfast. Some of the waiters/waitresses had an attitude, still tipped them and not one did we no tip anyone. I had scheduled a deep clean facial. It was in what felt like a broom closet and not what I call a facial for $120 US dollars. Waste of money and time. They advertise a kids club, only for kids 4-12 years old, not younger. Only good thing was the rooms and property were clean and the pools were nice. I would not recommend or go again.
