Great experience. All of the staff were professional and courteous. The ship is clean, well maintained, offers plenty of amenities and cozy sleep. My only irritation was the lack of parking. Parking tickets totaled 150 pounds for three violations.

What a fantastic place to stay. The ship is in the very heart of Leith with pubs and restaurants nearby. It is only a short walk away from the Royal Yacht Britannia. The cabins are extremely well finished and very comfortable. The ship has its own bar. You can sit inside or outside on two decks. The included breakfast buffet is served in the bar.

Our third stay on the Ocean Mist and I can't wait to return already. From the moment we stepped onboard we were made welcome. Our room was immaculate, very comfy and had everything we needed. The small Castle View bar (which to be fair only catches a glimpse of the castle!) is lovely and offers some great cocktails. Highly recommended

Whole experience was wonderful from arrival to departure. Room gave a unique but very comfortable experience and food albeit Bed & Breakfast was 1st class. Superb lunch and dinner venues are literally right outside whilst the service and choice in the bar in board were excellent. Been there a few times now and will our my place to go to when in Edinburgh from now on. The tram stop is about 3 mins walk and takes directly to city centre or airport. Could not ask for more. Well done team Ocean Mist

What a great find in Leith. Easy parking, excellent reception and a very well decorated and appointed room. Comfortable bed. The bar at the top was very cost, well stocked with terrific views. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was in the bar area which I didn’t have - continental.

We loved our stay on the Ocean Mist - a lovingly restored boat! Our room was on the small side, but we had a full king size bed and the most comfortable sheets! The bathroom was sparklingly clean with really cool tiles. Lovely setting for breakfast, with views on the water. Super friendly staff who are all very knowledgeable about the boat's history. It's a bit removed from the center of Edinburgh, but with plenty of restaurants, pubs, and easy access to transportation. Highly recommend if you like atypical, boutique hotels.

A very spacious and comfortable bedroom with lovely bathroom with nice toiletries included The bar is exceptional and with the most attentive staff Buffet breakfast is included and there is plenty of choice The nautical theme is evident in the staff uniforms and there are lots of photos of the history and suburb refurbishment of the ship There are local restaurants and close to the tram line and busses to whisk you into the centre of the city If I happen to be looking for accommodation again this will be my first choice

We stayed three nights on the ocean mist. Breakfast was great and cocktails on the boat were even better in the evening. The room we stayed in was small but quaint. Loved staying on the boat. Would definitely stay on the ocean mist again. Truly outstanding overall.

1. Rooms are very small. No room to even park the bags in a corner. The smallest rooms ever in my life. Claustrophobic. 2. No lift so if you have bags , you have to lug them to the room. Staff can do it for you 3. Breakfast was meh - - continental only - no coffee machine for cappuccino etc - staff not very welcoming 4. The River boat looks good in pictures- the River itself is quite dirty 5. The shower water is not hot - says 38 Celsius but it’s not even that hot - if you enjoy hot showers forget it

Lovely room with a large comfy bed, bathrobes as well which is always nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only downside was we had a connecting room which meant we could hear the people next door. Great unique 2 night stay while we explored Edinburgh during the Fringe. Cabin was perfect. Big comfy bed, strong shower and quality finish throughout. Breakfast at the bar each morning was lovely and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Tony was so professional despite the demands of the crowded 9am sitting. Reception were likewise and the young barman who served us on our first night was the perfect host. Tram stop is minutes away from the ship so getting to the city centre when we didn’t fancy the hike up Leith Walk was great. Hope to be back next year.

We stayed in "The Bitter End" room. Its quite small and its on quite a slope at the bow of the vessel, but quite comfortable. Very quirky. The staff were all very friendly, and we will almost definitely return.

I’m a boat guy and am used to tight quarters on my sailboat but our stateroom was the chain locker on the bow of an old reconditioned ship so the floor was slanted down quite a bit toward the aft making it difficult to get up from the bed. My second issue was a complete lack of space with no chairs or anywhere to put on shoes or open a suitcase. Otherwise the staff and the breakfast were delightful and I would recommend this charming and unforgettable experience.

From the moment we arrived and were greeted by the excellent reception staff. EVERY single member of staff were so professional, friendly, polite, efficient. I consider myself to be well travelled and I do not believe I have ever seen such an excellent organisation. Exceptional!!!

I can't say enough good things about this place. From the moment we checked in, Daniel and the other crew made us feel at home. They went above and beyond to be kind. The room was fantastic, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was my favorite part of the day, right up there with relaxing in the lounge in the evening. When I come back to Edinburgh, this is the only place I'll stay. Thank you to everyone there for making our trip amazing.

A treat. This was a proper 5 star hotel, with excellent rooms, high level of standards, and impeccable service. From the littlest things to the staff holding the door open, to explaining the boat's history, to knowing my name, what a luxury service. Thank you for having me. Rooms had perfect cleanliness, and high level of facilities overall. Beautiful bar, delicious breakfast, and chill lounge on the top floor. Surrounding area is quiet, food everywhere, pubs and restaurants everywhere, tram straight to the airport close by, and buses close by. Walkable area, mall nearby, windy.

Our stay at the Ocean Mist was the delicious cherry on top of our fantastic stay in Edinburgh. Our room was clean, comfortable and decked out with everything we needed to decompress after a long day of exploring. There are lots of restaurants, bars and coffee shops as well as quirky shops in Leith. We were originally going to stay in a hotel in Edinburgh centre but by chance found the Ocean Mist instead. And I’m so happy we did. There is not one thing I would change about the lovely hotel and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who is considering staying here.

Beautiful hotel, rooms were comfortable. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Close to transportation to go into Old Town, and short walk to the Royal Yacht. Lots of places to eat in the area. Be sure to see the photos of the restoration by the family, you will be impressed!

We booked Ocean Mist specifically as is was not in Central Edinburgh, but had close proximity to the trams as we were travelling to Edinburgh by train. We fancied it due to it being a bit different, not just a normal hotel. It did everything a great hotel always does regarding service, cleanliness, being well specified, offer a lovely breakfast, great staff etc, but what was different, was an extra personal touch and the decor/rooms/surroundings being interesting themselves. We stayed for two nights, but would have loved to stay for longer. Definitely one of our favourite stayovers ever!

Ocean Mist was so charming and beautifully located in Leith, right on the Harbour surrounding by outdoor dining and a 2 minute walk from the tram into Edinburgh centre. The accommodation was very cute and the breakfast pastries from a delicious local French bakery. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive, from Toni who helped us on arrival, to William who hosted our stay. Danny and Matt went above and beyond, even forwarding our passports by priority mail when we absentmindedly left them in our safe.

Whole experience was wonderful from arrival to departure. Room gave a unique but very comfortable experience and food albeit Bed & Breakfast was 1st class. Superb lunch and dinner venues are literally right outside whilst the service and choice in the bar in board were excellent. Been there a few times now and will our my place to go to when in Edinburgh from now on. The tram stop is about 3 mins walk and takes directly to city centre or airport. Could not ask for more. We stayed three nights on the ocean mist. Breakfast was great and cocktails on the boat were even better in the evening. The room we stayed in was small but quaint. Loved staying on the boat. Would definitely stay on the ocean mist again. Truly outstanding overall.

What a fantastic place to stay. The ship is in the very heart of Leith with pubs and restaurants nearby. It is only a short walk away from the Royal Yacht Britannia. The cabins are extremely well finished and very comfortable. The ship has its own bar. You can sit inside or outside on two decks. The included breakfast buffet is served in the bar.

The breakfast was amazing - the yummy bacon and cheese bread and huge croissants and pain au chocolat, fresh fruit bowls and all the lovely meats and cheeses. The bar area was comfy with a lovely view and setting. We loved all the games in the lounge area too. I don’t think this could be improved! It’s a fabulous special place to stay. Thank you all! The Royal yacht Britannia is in walking distance and definitely worth visiting, the Ship on the Shore seafood restaurant is just over the road - we loved the food there. And there is a bus stop nearby on the Edinburgh bus tours route.

Stayed for one night to take in Edinburgh Christmas Markets and for my wife's 40th. Could not ask for more. The ship is absolutely immaculate and the bed was immensely comfortable. Great service and lovely continental breakfast, although a bit crowded at breakfast time. Would not hesitate to book again if staying up in Edinburgh.

a unique place to stay and close enough to Edinburgh city within 10 minutes by tram / bus. staff very welcoming and plenty of bars and restaurants wihin 10 min walk to meet anyones needs and taste. Breakfast continetal buffet style excellent shame yhe facilties for cooked breakfast not available would be 5* apart for the damp musty smell in the room and parts of boat but i suppose your on a boat on the river.

The Ocean Mist is a quirky boutique hotel. Our room was well furnished with a comfy bed with beautiful linen. The bathroom was spotless and had an excellent shower. The room was not particularly big, but then you should expect that on 100+ year old boat. The staff were really lovely and couldn't be faulted on anything. Breakfast was ok with cereals, yoghurt, fruit, cold meats and cheeses. It wasn't anything memorable and it was quite awkward having to sit in an armchair to eat it.

Our room was very comfortable and clean. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was nice but if you’re looking for a cooked breakfast you can get one across in the Ship in the Shore. I was happy with the choice of breakfast items!
