Alpine Valley Inn

There was a swarm of bugs in front of our room that were unavoidable to get through the door. The lock inside looked like it had been ripped off the door frame a few times. The paint job in the room was rushed and incomplete. It looked like there was a cockroach leg stuck to the wall in the shower. The employee who checked us in wasn't wearing shoes and had a general vibe of uncleanliness. The television wasn't set up in our room. The overall vibe of the hotel was so bad that we checked out a day early and got a room at a different hotel.

Exceptional front desk staff, both on the phone and in person. I stayed three nights. Very quiet. Comfortable bed. Didn't need ac or heat. The building's age showed in minor ways which did not detract from the stay. Conveniently located for restaurants and shopping. With the modest room rate, it was perfect if you just need a bed and an easy, self-serve breakfast. Although the room was not cleaned until I departed, I would definitely stay here again.
