They have done some updates since the last time we were there. They have paved the. Lot and worked on their grounds by planting flowers. The place felt safe with all the lighting that is around. They could offer a little more items for the breakfast.

I was charged a $100 fee at check in that I was not told about. Also the power went out about 10:15 when we laid down in bed. The was no back up generator or anything. And the power stayed out for a while.

Plenty of parking. Very Friendly check in. Room was clean and comfortable. Non-smoking room and it did not smell like smoke. Bath towels were the softest hotel towels I've ever felt. Hardboiled eggs and healthier cereal options would be nice.

The staff are very nice. The outside of the motel is need of updating. No ligthing at night for stairs. My wife tripped. AC unit allowed outside cigarette smoke to come in.

Our room were clean enough. It was further than expected from the center of Helen but within walking distance. Parking lot was very small!

The carpet in the rooms is FILTHY. Upon exiting the shower clean, a walk across the room and my white feet were black on the bottom. Socks would immediately turn dark on the bottom. Shoes must be worn at all times inside the rooms. The bathroom had black mold on the ceiling. There was a swarm of flies in the room, mostly congregating around the sink area. The room had an overall moisture to it. Clean clothes that were hung up felt damp to the touch. There is no body wash provided, just a bar of soap. The young man that sleeps behind the front desk lacks any hospitality skills. He wasn\'t able to help with anything. Mona on the other hand was friendly. The "breakfast" consists of a mini fridge with yogurt, pop tarts, and muffins. The counter has individual cereal boxes and bananas and oranges. The location is about a mile from the center of town, about a 20 minute walk one-way. On a positive note, the beds are comfortable.

The room was very clean and updated, except for the actual bath tube. It was dirty and stained. There was pubic hair on the sides of the shower stall. When I checked out, the guy looked like he just woke up from a deep sleep.

We were only in the room to sleep but the bed was super comfortable and so were the pillows. We got there an hr before check in time and our room was ready so he let us go ahead and check in. The room was really clean and the ac worked pretty well. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

A great place to stay while in Helen. Not fancy, but a good place to lay your head while exploring Helen. Place is dated but clean. Right near a restaurant and pub.... It is a bit of a walk from downtown. Good value!

The young man who works the desk was very solicitous and polite. However, for part of the time the television did not work despite his efforts, there was no hot water for the shower the second day (he said he would report it to the owner) in general the facility was quite run down inside and out. The location was good, about a half mile walk to the downtown area.

The room was clean, staff was amazing (let us check in early!). Free WiFi and the WiFi was secure! That’s amazing and needed because I needed to work. Bed was comfortable and shower had good water pressure. Couldn’t ask for more!

Very friendly staff. Clean room with a comfortable bed. The only flaws were a musty smell in the room which completely went away after turning on the a/c, and minor cosmetic maintenance issues which in no way affected the comfort of the room. Outstanding price for the room which included a nice continental breakfast and convenient location. Will stay here again.

If you come to Helen looking to spending the majority of your time outdoors in the beautiful natural surrounding, or exploring shops, restaurants, and events, etc and you are mostly interested in a hotel with good location that is clean and safe with a nice bed and shower then I highly recommend! I personally loved it here, but my ideal experience is mainly a clean place to sleep with good internet. If you want a spa go elsewhere. Friendly and helpful staff!

It took about 10 minutes to get someone to come to the front desk after ringing the buzzer 3 separate times. Once I was finally able to check in i had to listen to the front desk person's political opinion while being harangued about our leadership. I wasn't aware that the President is the reason why Doctors in Florida decide not to choose new patients.🙄 Obviously more concerned about propaganda than substance i just let it all go in one ear, and out the other. The hotel itself was clean, safe, and comfortable. We got food to go from Monday's, and it was close, and pretty decent. All in all no complaints.

I like that it was within walking distance to activities and sightseeing. Also we had to leave a day early so we were reimbursed for that day. What I didnt like was the customer service. Checking in was good. They had NO coffee in the room. Some office staff was rude. Asked for coffee. After I got my coffee she shut the machine off. Oh and there was a delivery from Coca Cola. No one was in the office. I rang the bell . No one came. Other than a few other things not worth mentioning this is about it.

There was miscommunication between the night attendant and the next guy that took his place. I had two consecutive reservations and asked that I get the same room. He assured me I was all set and didn’t need to check in again the next day. I told him the room did not need to be cleaned. When I returned that evening my toiletries had been removed and the room was ready for checkin. Thankfully I had taken my luggage with me since I needed it that day. Other than that, I enjoyed staying there. Nice location and quiet.

Alpine Valley Inn was about .5 miles from the main street where there was lots of shops and restaurants. A typical 60s motel, some upgrades were noticed and hopefully they are working on more. Room was clean and comfortable. Surprisingly quiet other than loud air conditioning. For the price I was able to get through Expedia, I'd stay again.

Cute town. Clean room. Nothing fancy, but it was clean and quiet. We were able to park right outside our room as we were on the main level. We walked about a mile to the main part of Helen to shop and eat and had a great stay.

The room was clean, the beds comfortable, but we were disappointed in the breakfast that was advertised. Went to office at 8:00am and couldn't get in. Went back later and only had bananas and apples. Make your own coffee.

The hotel is undergoing renovations. No breakfast available as stated. The room was musty smelling. The shower curtain had mold. The finishes were poor such as the vanity area being held up by 2x4. On a positive note the front desk young man was very polite and helpful. Parking was free and convenient.

My only real complaint is that they say they offer breakfast at 7:30am and when I went down at 7:35 (first morning) I had to call the hotel as the doors were not open. After reaching what I think was the owner he called the “live in” receptionist and he literally walked out with no shoes on, wearing the same clothes as the day before and had just rolled out of bed. The second morning I decided to wait a little longer 7:45 to give him time to wake up and had to go through the same process all over again and still no shoes on, just rolled out of bed same clothes. Oh, and the breakfast is two kinds of cereal both mini wheats (which no kid likes) frosted wheats, honey bun and what looks like knock off White Castle sandwiches.

Motel is clean, but old and not in the best condition. Breakfast was OK, but mostly junk food. Other than during check-in, I never saw anyone at the front desk to get a box of tissue or in-room coffee replenished, so we had to wait until someone cleaned the room - which wad once during our four-night stay. Also, the rooms are not quiet, but that's pretty much normal. Overall, it was OK, but not what I expected from the photos and description, so I'll try somewhere else next time.

The property is well maintained and it's age gives it charm. Breakfast is a variety of easily prepared or ready to eat items. Although most people prefer to go out for breakfast. The bed was nice and there was always hot water. Water pressure good too.
