Hotel Indigo Pittsburgh East Liberty by IHG

I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed in a hotel that felt quite so aggressively synthetic. Nearly every surface, material, and finish seems to be made of some variation of cheap plastic. Walking into the room feels a bit like entering a hospital. You’re immediately greeted by a bright teal polyester privacy curtain that looks like it belongs in a medical facility. The room itself is clinically empty, with slippery laminate flooring, strange acrylic-feeling wallpaper, and bathroom floors that look like tile but feel like plastic. There is almost nothing warm, comfortable, or inviting about the space. Even the bedding manages to feel plastic. The mattress itself was perfectly fine, but the sheets and mattress protector felt so synthetic and nonbreathable that sleeping became uncomfortably hot. The sheets practically cling to you. It’s an impressive amount of plastic for a place that’s supposed to be comfortable. The location isn’t particularly convenient unless you have a specific reason to be in that immediate area, and there are very few amenities to make up for it. I do want to distinguish the property from its people. The front desk staff were absolutely lovely, kind, welcoming, and helpful. My criticism has nothing to do with them. Ultimately, this hotel feels like someone attempted to create a modern, boutique experience using the cheapest possible materials. Instead of stylish or contemporary, the result is sterile, clinical, and remarkably uncomfortable.

A day later i had symptoms of bed bug bites. Very unpleasant experience.

It’s disgusting. Do not be fooled. The top of the bed has sticky substance all over it with hair stuck to it. Bathrooms unsanitary. Don’t waste your money.
