This property is a quaint motel with rustic woodland theme and wildlife decoration with a couple cabins adjacent to the motel section. The center grounds are nicely landscaped and paved to making walking nice. They have a dog potty area which is convenient and it is well maintained.

They need to update their website. It showed they had a hot tub which had since been taken out. We were looking forward to that. Otherwise very nice pretty property.

Interior decor very detailed with the log cabin/rustic theme. Easy parking, easy late check-in, clean and quiet. Will definitely stay again!

What a wonderful visit we had again at Shadow Mountain Lodge. The cabin, with all the amenities was just what we needed. And we took advantage of everything, from the bbq grill, the fire pit, to the laundry. \xa0I borrowed (and returned!) a book and a puzzle, had multiple wildlife encounters, walked with our pup through the neighborhood, and enjoyed the peace and serenity on our front porch.\xa0 Not embarrassed to say, I got choked up when we left.\xa0 We will visit again soon. Thank you for a truly fantastic experience. Your hospitality is 10 out of 10.

We stayed in a cabin, which was very quiet despite being near others. Loved the two-way fireplace and the amount of space provided. The kitchenette was sufficient, though we hardly used it.

Very cozy cabin. clean and comfortable Full stove top and fireplace were nice touches.

Shadow Mountain is our favorite place to stay. Our dog is welcome and it is a great place to walk and relax.

This place is super cute.. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect for a “just us” getaway. We utilized the fireplace and were greeted by elk/deer each morning. Would definitely recommend!

Quiet and serene and very clean

Location and scenery was great! However cabin wasn’t clean. Stove had stains and food crumbs. Inside lining Shower curtain was very old and had black/green stains on it and there was mold on the top ceiling of shower. Did let booking staff know about the issues, hopefully they check cabins before next renters.

There was hair in tub and bathroom flor behind door. Also cobwebs on the ceiling fan on off chains, also the microwave did not work properly, to include the coffee machine, I called the office at almost 8 am and the lady was rude saying it was not an emergency and that phone number was only for emergencies. Which is ridiculous because if I had an emergency, I would dial 911. The thing is that she said that there was another coffee machine underneath the sink to make the coffee out of ground coffee and there was nothing there, so no coffee machine was there. Also, you have to throw out the trash, put the towels in the laundromat, practically clean the whole place, which is not stated before, also I took my own blanket and bedsheet just to cover the bed and when I was moving the bedsheet, there was a lot of static electricity and sparks coming out of the pillows because of the amount of dust that was there. The morning of checkout when I was getting my blanket and bedsheet all my hairs on my head while my hair was wet, was standing up because of the static electricity and dust. For the price I believe it’s a very nice place and it has potential, but the appliances did not work. Also, it should be cleaned better and not for the customers to throw out their trash all the way out to the dump and put all the towels in the laundromat. It’s like ridiculous and it’s an inconvenience for a person with a disability. The appliances should’ve worked too and issued a refund of some amount

I really wanted to give this a better review but we couldn\'t. Check in was pleasant and easy, The grounds in the pictures didn\'t match property, Overgrown weeds, spider webs on deck and outdoor chairs and a quite a bit of "junk\' on side of cabin. Inside carpet was torn in places, Huge crack on bathroom counter and duct tape holding the blow dryer together. My wife dropped her phone between the couch seats so I had to lift one side and bottle caps and small toys were underneath. This place has potential to be nice.

This is the best place I’ve stayed at in ruidoso hands down and we visit A LOT. The staff was soooo nice, everything was clean, it was the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in, beautiful outside are to sit. 10000/10

Carpet was filthy and stained. Front steps in need of repair. Sink in bathroom drained very slow. Porchlight did not work.

Not a lot to do in the general area. The front office was never open. No maid service had to share the same towels over numerous days. Bed was very uncomfortable. People in adjoining room were loud partiers

Hotel was very nice and comfortable. Excellent decor for a mountain retreat. Only complaint I have is the tv was smaller and older. Roku is not the best but we made it work. Definitely recommend this place to our friends and family

TV to slow, internet connection does not work

This place is amazing! Room was perfect size, has stove, microwave, toaster oven, cozy outdoor sitting area. Just perfect for a get away.

The room was super cute -Had a fireplace -very spacious. The king size bed was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in -just the atmosphere outside was wonderful-had coffee on the deck watching the sun come up. It’s just cozy and cute and I can’t wait to come back in winter and ski!

We loved our cabin. It was modern and very roomy.

Just want to recommend to readjust the engineering or design of the small room refrigerator. It is setup on the bottom corner make it difficult to older people or people with back problems to have access to their drinks or foods. Have it set to a higher location on the the cabinet or countertops for easy access.

We would recommend Shadow Mountain Lodge and Cabins for a short or an extended stay. The owners are friendly and very helpful and the rooms are clean and well kept. If we were to rate our stay on a number scale, 1 being poor 10 being outstanding we definitely are giving a solid 15.

The stay was much needed! The gal at the front desk had amazing customer service and was super sweet! The room was super clean and stocked. I will definitely return for future trips!

Fantastic, lodge, room was everything that was advertised. The picture of the room was exactly what we walked into. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We have found a little hideaway in Ruidoso that we will be coming back to when we visit our relative.

Great service

Christine checked me in and was so kind and helpful. My husband and I really appreciate the cleanliness and ambience of the property--I feel like pictures don't do it justice. It is even prettier at night with the LED lights etc. Thank you for a wonderful stay. We are hoping to come back soon!

Great place in the mountains. Clean, comfortable, large, and very near mid-town Ruidoso. Deer in the morning and evening on the lawn.

Cabins have a great location for shopping in Ruidoso. I would stay there again.

We have stayed here before - great little spot. Quiet with a great location walking distance down the main drag.

Affordable and close to town.

The cabin was on the end of the property & offered a lot of privacy for me & my pup. The check-in is at a different building located on the main street and before you get to lodge & cabins. So read the check-in address carefully. The kitchenette was perfect for our cooking needs. We went to Ruidoso to ski, and our cabin was a quick drive to Ski Apache.
