Shilla Stay Mapo Hongdae

I stayed at this hotel based on a friend’s recommendation. It’s just a 5-minute walk from the metro, and it takes about 15 to 30 minutes to reach various main areas in Seoul. I felt very safe walking between the hotel and the station, even at night. The room was clean and had everything I needed. I was a bit disappointed with the gym, as the equipment was quite old and there weren’t many options, although it did offer a nice view. Overall, everything was good and I had a pleasant stay.

Hotel is in the convenient area for transportation, restaurants and shopping district. Services were excellent and everyone in the facility were polite. One thing to improve is that fitness facility can be improved with supplies like cleaning wipes to clean after use.

We were here a few days ago then went to Jeju Island. I wrote a quick review on Expedia regarding our first stay. When we checked-in this time, the front desk personnel were aware of our review and made sure that during our current stay we wouldn’t have the same issue. Impressive! The hotel is clean & conveniently located regarding to public transportation access & restaurants. We didn’t use their restaurant on 2F but I used their gym. It’s a small gym but has what I needed. The hotel provides you with water bottles & towels. I would definitely come back to Shilla Stay.

Great stay overall! Staff was extremely nice and attentive! Only downside to staying here is that there’s no onsite laundry mat and no room service available.

This hotel is rated as a four star. In all of my travels I can honestly say that it should be a 3 star. Room pictures are deceiving making them look larger. Lobby has only 2 chairs and a bench. Air conditioning will not cool the rooms any lower than 23.5 C, and room hallways are not air conditioned at all. Buffet breakfast is ok, and staff are very polite and courteous. Building is run down...in need of a major renovation. Been to other Shilla Stay hotels and I have never had these issues in the past

This hotel was very dirty and nasty. I booked because of the name Shilla but it was not like a Shilla quality, table, toilet, shower all dirty and nasty. and when others closing their room door, door is automatically closing so hard and loudly so I had to wake up middle of nights, so many times. this is the worst hotel in my life!! book other hotel near this place.

Very clean and conveniently located. Took one limousine bus from ICN to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and provided great service! Commute was easy since there was a subway station and several bus stops nearby.

A room with dirt on bed-head and TV, and crumbs in a refrigerator - this may not be a room you want to stay after a long flight and checking-in late night. After calling a manager, we moved to another room, which is slightly better. We were tired and just took it.

This place is so small and dirty shower room I expected more than that but not hard to trust on website pictures.

Room power supply is bit old. No USB for example.

The location is good -- it is close to several subway lines, and there are a wide variety of restaurants close to the hotel. Also, the facilities in the hotel are fine. However, our room was much too hot. There was a thermostat in the room, but adjusting it had no affect on room temperature. We finally turned it off and opened the window. Despite being in the 30sF outside, the temperature in our room never dropped below about 80F.

It was a twin bedroom, but it was very small and didn’t even have a mini table. The soundproofing was so poor that I couldn’t sleep. In particular, the room had a glass window facing the main road, so the traffic noise continued throughout the night, which is a serious drawback.”

위치가 좋고 직원도 친절하지만 객실이 다소 낡고 좁은 편입니다.

駅から近くよかったが、1番近い地下鉄出入り口が階段のみで荷物が多いと大変。大回りすればエスカレーター、エレベーターがある。シャワーと洗面所の仕切りのガラスが半分しかないので水の飛びはねが気になる。シャワーカーテンも合わせてあると良い。アメニティ◎。フロントスタッフの方は感じ良く親切だが、日本語はほぼ出来ず英語と翻訳アプリで対応。コンビニもすぐ隣で、全体的にはよかったです。

small room. limited tv program. very weak water pressure, but came right away to try to fix the problem, and made it better - I appreciated it. noisy - I did not know that area is that much busy traffic area. The staffs were nice and kind enough.

I have stayed (not kidding) over 60 nights at this hotel in 2025 for business. The primary factor was the location near Gongdeok Station, which is amazing for subway access and transfer. Keep in mind that the rooms are smallish (even for Korea), but the main detractors from 5-stars are two-fold: the A/C (for summer visitors) is horrendous; it will not get below 24 in the room, even running it all night. Second, Korea prides themselves on their internet speeds, and the hotel's is the worst I've seen in Korea for WiFi. Drops at least 2 times per hour, so streaming is exceptionally challenging.

Overall the hotel is quiet and clean close to subway and bus. I went during summer time the AC is not cool enough when you first return to the room. They did offer to send in a fan to help cool me down.

Room smells like smoke even though Non-smoking room. Room looks smaller, Bathroom needs upgrade. Staffs we’re awesome!

隔音差，聽到馬路

We stayed for 6 nights. Front desk is not helpful and not supportive. We asked about CheongWaDae and outlet information, hotel staff suggested us to find the answer by ourself. Hotel cleaning standard is not consistent, missing towels, paper cups happened almost everyday. Our own towels were removed from the hanger and was put to bath tub and it ends up we are unable to know our own ones. In general, the hotel hardware is good but the soft skill made us feeling unwelcomed due to only one staff on duty in front desk during house keeping was out of service

Friendly staffs, great location

初めて新羅ホテルに泊まりましたが、快適でした。ソファがあるのが便利でした。 スタッフが一人しかいない時間で、荷物預け、チェックインに時間がかかってしまい、人手不足なのかな？という気がしました。対応はていねいだったので、残念です。

Very close to lane 5 subway, Gongduck Station and Mapo Station. close to CU and other restaurants; All walkable distance. The room was very clean and lovely. ESP members and Reception staffs were especially accomodating and friendly.

Overall, Shilla Stay is an excellent hotel. The hotel staff was professional and kind, and the cleaning staff did an excellent job. One glitch was that the coffee machine in the Cafe didn't work correctly. When I pushed latte, it only produced milk, and when I pushed americano, it made somewhat poor-quality coffee. Coffee is essential for me to start my day so that it could have been more manageable. The cleaning staff in the Cafe sometimes cleaned the table too fast, so when I returned to my table shortly after, all my food was gone.

Unacceptable Cleanliness & Maintenance Issues and Lack of Professionalism by the Staff My three-night stay at Shilla Stay Mapo was profoundly disappointing and did not meet the standards expected of a hotel in the Shilla group. The experience was ruined by serious cleanliness and maintenance issues, which were compounded by a lack of professionalism from the staff, beginning with my check-in. At check-in, I gave my credit card to the receptionist, who then failed to return it to me. I had to realize this myself and retrieve it. This oversight is a significant sign of unprofessionalism and lack of training, and I am very concerned about the security risk it posed. Upon arriving at my room, I discovered two further significant problems. First, the tile trim around the bathroom sink was faulty, leaving a dirty, black residue. This substance stained my pants and was visibly dirty when wiped. Second, I found a large, unidentified, and disturbing oily stain on the underside of the desk. The stain was sticky, and its presence made me feel unsafe and uncomfortable in my room. The hotel's response to these issues was a major disappointment. When I called the front desk, the receptionist seemed to have difficulty with English and did not seem to take my concerns seriously. I was told someone would be sent to my room, but after a long wait, no one arrived. I had to go to the front desk in person, wasting valuable time from my trip to Seoul. The receptionist was again unhelpful and told

The hotel reception was friendly and nice, and the subway access was convenient. and I felt safe leaving my luggage there.

Hotel bem localizado, próximo a 2 estações de metrô. Atendimento cordial e rápido na recepção. Todos os dias tinham 2 aguas de cortesia no quarto após a limpeza. Quarto climatizado, vidro anti-ruído e cama bem confortável.

初めて孔徳に宿泊しましたが、やはり空港まで一本で行き来できるので非常に便利でした。チェックイン時に簡単な日本語で説明していただきわかりやすかったです。施設が古いという意見もありましたが、私たちは古く感じませんでした。また利用したいです。

コンドク駅からすぐで、マポ駅も近い。 とても便利な場所でした‼︎ ベッドの寝心地も良く、良い滞在でした。

공덕역 & 마포역과 가까운 좋은 위치. 직원분들 태도도 굉장히 친절하고 좋았으며 객실도 깔끔했음. 다음번에도 이용할 계획

何より交通の便がいい。地下鉄だけでどこにでも行ける。孔徳駅1番出口が宿泊した新羅ステイマポホテルは1番近く、スーツケースが重くなると2番出口からエレベーターを使うと大丈夫。初韓国でしたが、楽しめました。

OK hotel in Seoul, close to metro station Gongdeok.

Location was nice for transportation. Hotel is clean and quiet. Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.

The best transportation convenience for visiting tourist attractions

Location is perfect. Just one minute from metro and bus stations. There are many good places around. Traditional market and walking areas.

Room was clean and nice, the size was actually better than our expectation, perfect for two big suitcases. The color and design of the bathroom was cozy and chic. Location was excellent! Just 3 minute walk to Gongdeok subway station, with 4 lines running altogether. Just forty minutes subway to Gimpo airport by line 5, and around 1 hour by airport train to Incheon Int'l airport, even more convenient to go into town. Just about 7 minute walk there are Lotte Mart and E Mart, perfect for grocery shopping. highly recommend this hotel in terms of location. Breakfast was nice, even though the food was the same for three consecutive days, the taste was excellent. The only thing to pick about was that the breakfast serving time was up to 09:30 am only, and the staff was literally rushing you to get out of the restaurant, if you wanna slowly enjoy your breakfast, be sure to go downstairs a bit earlier. Other than that everything in this hotel was nice and descent.

From check-in, I was greeted by professional front desk staff, who provided me with everything I needed. The hotel breakfast was also excellent. The homemade omelets were especially fantastic.

Very good breakfast buffet with Western and Korean options. Room is clean and very functional though cozy.

1階のフロント近くのトイレが、あまり掃除してない感じでした。　朝のビュッフェも、品数は豊富でしたが連泊しても　内容は　ほぼ同じでした。 部屋は　清潔で居心地良かったです。
