We were on lower ground floor and think we were either under a staircase or the dining room - continuous noise!! Couldn’t even sleep! There were three of us and only one bath towel was provided. However the person on night duty was helpful with parking and the staff were generally nice and helpful. It is a plus that parking is available at the hotel, but it does fill up quickly in the evenings There is a big sign in the lift saying it periodically breaks down so would avoid using if you can…!

Good value for money. Clean, tidy, walk everywhere location. Plenty of parking, nice older style beach side motel with windows that open. If back this way will be happy to come back.

The hotel is running well down to the staff and cleanness of the hotel. The exterior of the hotel looks good from the outside as the travel website displays but reality is different. Wifi was free however not reachable in your room, only excess-able when you sit in front of the bar sitting area. Standard double rooms are very small and no space to keep your luggage and movement is restricted in the room. Staff are great and they listen to customers requests if something isn’t right.

A pleasant trip to Paignton for the weekend, but the Marine Hotel has definitely seen better days. Staff were very pleasant, bedroom and breakfast was fine. However there was very little water pressure to the shower, which meant it was nothing more than a trickle. The hotel car park layout is extremely poor, and you need your wits about you to enter and exit it without damaging your car.

Excellent check in we felt we were valued customers even though it was only for one night. Staff around the hotel very helpful, polite and welcoming. Pleased we could sit in the comfortable conservatory bar after a long drive which had a lovely view of the Paignton sea front

Beautifully located hotel in the heart of Paignton. The staff were very friendly and professional. The hotel was very clean. The building is what you’d expect from an English seaside town, dated and lacking investment.but the staff’s professionalism and eye for detail in their cleaning made it an enjoyable stay. Would stay here again.

We stayed in lower ground floor and the room was terrible and was smelling very bad. Complained to the manager but she couldn’t do anything to change my room as the hotel was completely booked. Didn’t get the complete refund.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff is very attentive and hardworking. They did their best to accomodate our requests. The breakfast was good and has a few options. It is very close to the beach and centre ans also has parking available.

The staff was friendly and helpful. We had parking space only on the first day as on the next one we took a trip by car and at the arrival we had to find a space outside the hotel for extra payment…the WC was not clean,the breakfast was poor,the fork still had the previous guest’s food on it.next to the bed there was a huge patch on the rug.

Great friendly staff in a very pleasant hotel and a great lounge/bar area for looking out towards to the sea. The only niggle was the shower, definitely hot, but the pressure was low and in our room there was a sloping ceiling making it hard to stand up. However, it was all very clean and the bar prices are much lower than a Premier Inn restaurant where I stayed a few days ago!

Friendly staff and great location. Hotel a little dated, but many are in Paignton. Hotel clean, room spacious and clean. Room did feel hot and a bit stuffy in hot weather, even with window open. Good there was onsite parking, although spaces are tight. Location great for exploring the town and very close to park and pier. Great for a one night stay.

Basic, a little dated, but otherwise all good. And very good value for money….however there was a private party going on which meant no sleep til 3am as noise from bar area was terrible in room right above the bar!! Really should let people know when something like this ids going on, or least allocate rooms affected by noise to those taking part, and kocexothers as far away as possible. Even room on 2nd floor could hear noise from bar so no/little sleep til it was over!! Breakfast ok, very basic, but good for the price.

A one night stay and all we really needed was a bed for the night. We didn't eat at the hotel or use the bar area but it looked pleasant and I think had views over the park next to the hotel. The hotel is in a great location, being right on the seafront, and our room on the 2nd floor had nice views out towards the harbour. The room was a good size and was clean. The only minor thing was that the shower lacked any water pressure and was more just a dribble, but it was usable. The hotel generally is an older building rather than a modern purpose built hotel. There seemed to be lots of stairs and corridors! Overall, however, this was a good stay and for the price it was good value.

Toilet flush wasn’t working at all. Told the staff as we tried to use toilet after check in. Was given a jug to fill the cistern and then flush. So each time we flushed the toilet, we were filling the cistern with jug so it’s ready for next time. Shower was temperament. Breakfast was okay but not worth £10 per person. Night staff was good, day staff was rude.

We liked the staff who were very hard working, friendly and kept everything running smoothly. The half board option was extremely good value and everything arrived hot and was well presented and tasty. The room was large and roomy and very quiet, even though it faced the road. Everywhere was accessible from the hotel 10 minutes walk to the ferry for Torquay and Brixham. 10 minutes walk to the bus and train station in the centre of the town. We didnt use our car once and it was free to park at the hotel. We enjoyed our stay so much, we extended it by 2 days. We will definately be back.

Beautiful hotel on sea front was close to the pier and other attractions such as Paignton zoo, variety of pubs and restaurants for dining. Overall a great experience for the kids and convenient for the parents or any couple wanting a sea side holiday.

Location was very good, staff eager to help. Food was very good with a good variety of menu items. Evening entertainment provided meant you could stay in the hotel although, as usual with hotels, drinks were rather expensive. All in all we would stay again.

Excellent location, staff were really nice, entertainment was great my kids loved it. Very noisy as you could hear all the guests coming & going all through the night. The breakfast wasn’t worth adding to the booking, it was so bad all four of us left everything. Rooms needed upgrades but it was clean & tidy.
