This is a small hotel conveniently located in the heart of Sausalito. The room was nice with a great view of the bay. The hotel & room was immaculately clean with comfortable beds. Parking was easily available nearby, but costly if you did not have a handicapped permit. The only negative is that desk service is limited. We had to call in order to get someone to let us in.

This hotel places you right in the heart of downtown Sausalito at a very affordable price! Quaint, clean, well maintained. Large bathroom despite room itself on small side. Most of time we were out and about, but when in room, it certainly worked. Comfy bed. Coffee maker. Discount on parking.

Great room overlooking the Main Street. Easy to get in and out of the hotel. Parking right there and one of the most affordable parking close to the hotel. Staff very helpful. Perfect location downtown.

Beautiful rustic hotel w/a decent view; they probably have other rooms w/a better view of the bay? The rooms were very clean and kept up to expectations. The area has many wonderful options for dining as well that we were able to walk to; the area was safe and kept up. My wife and I were very pleased as it was our first time visiting. Wished we would have had more time to enjoy our stay. Unfortunately you'll have to tax on 25.00 dollars to the cost of the stay to pay for parking, and it's not attached. Not a fan of that.

This a a cute little hotel, clean and tidy, pretty small but well positioned to enjoy this part of San Francisco. There are no amenities, so expect just a room and bathroom. That’s it.

We planned a getaway in Sausalito for our anniversary getaway and decided to stay at Hotel Sausalito. We arrived early and Robin was super kind in expediting the availability of our room. The room was comfortable and was directly across from the ferry station. Based on our activities, we ended up heading out to tiburon to use that ferry station since the one on Sausalito does not travel to angel island. The bed was comfortable, housekeeping cleaned the room each day while we were out and about. However, the sink in our room (209) was backing up a bit but still drained in a reasonable amount of time. Our room is the only room with a bathtub if that’s important to you. We heard some construction noises since a wine bar is going up next door but renovation and painting continues. Any time we had questions about the area or recommendations, Robin was persistent in providing them or researching for us. It was a very pleasant stay. We also were able to catch a jazz festival the evening we came in. Overall, a great stay and definitely a place we’ll come back to in the future if we’re in the area.

The Sausalito Hotel is located in a perfect spot and walking distance to everything needed (food, drink, shops, ferry). Unfortunately our room left little to be desired. Very expensive and extremely small. You could not even open the bathroom door all the way, it hit the bed. Our A/C unit would not make the room cooler. On our first night, the power was out all night and we were miserable with temperature and needing to open a window which led to very noisy outside conditions of construction (jackhammers, and heavy equipment work). Our view on our side of the building was to the neighboring roof :( Additionally our shower head was horrible, but the bathroom was almost bigger than the actual room. At our check-in, the attendant met us at the front door and was helpful. The hotel could use a few updates for a more comfortable stay. Especially with the price charged.

Hands down the tiniest room we have ever stayed in. The only place to open a suitcase is on the bed. Nice bathroom though with a skylight over the shower. If only I didn’t have to skirt around the bed crab-style to get there! There is EXTENSIVE construction that detracts from the property, super noisy, dozens of construction workers

There was an issue with the fire alarm system. First the alarm went off in our room the first morning at 5:00am. You could not reach it and it blasted for 40 minutes. There is a number to call but NOONE is there on site. Someone had to drive in and see to it. That took 40 min. We were told it was a battery which was BS as batteries make annoying "chirp". This was a full scale alarm. Plus an alarm company was there when we got back from breakfast and all the alarms were replaced. The next night an alarm went off in an adjourning room at 2:30am. Same drill. 45 minutes for someone to come out and fix it. So obviously an issue. Had I know no one was on staff at the hotel I would have never booked in there. We have all stayed at places when people are loud, parties etc.....and the fact that no one was there on property to deal with it is a HUGE short coming. At $400 per night my expectation was different. I also tried to reach the manager several times with no return contact. Buy us dinner, comp one of the nites......do something. So that means I am left to become the person I don't want to be. Leaving a bad review. I will return to Sausalito....but not here. Shame because all the staff we met in person were great.

Read the fine print. This property only has limited front desk service. We had our wedding and landed up around 11 pm. The front door was locked. Called a phone number and a grumpy guy berated us for not “making an appt for checkin”. Apparently 8 pm is the cutoff . We booked through hotels.com and went back and checked - no mention of a 8 pm cutoff. If we would have known would have avoided this hotel. Terrible communication and attitude. We are local to SF so told the guy we are willing to go back home rather than deal with the poor attitude

Hotel is unmanned with only temporary staff partially available by phone. We were not made aware that significant construction work was progress under the hotel rooms with heavy drilling, hammering and people movement (12 people accounted started working at 7:00 am). Hotel desk was empty when we wanted to complain. Call manager by phone and he show not interest or care about the noise conditions. Excellent location and rooms but frankly do not go there, they do not care about guests.

The historical property was lovely and up to date. Other friendly tourist in residence. I did not expect no staff service. I did not expect checkin with a call, and then someone had to come from anothe hotel. I did not expect to give up on even requesting additional face cloths. I did not expect to have to order out because all the restaurants around closed by 9:30 pm on a Saturday night. So the location was impecable. Service not so much.

I was not told the Password/number was on entrance key card. The "hotel book" avaialble in the room says password is 2015. This book needs to be upgraded

It was such a pleasant stay, made possible by Robin, the front desk lead. Her warm welcome and customer service made our stay so east and enjoyable. She made great suggestions for places to see, eat and explore. The location is ideal and walkable to everywhere, with views from our room.
