Booked this at the last minute and it was a great choice. Struggled to find it on a dark and rainy night because it’s part of the Dragon pub and I couldn’t find a sign for the cottage! Parking was quite busy but still found a space. Much better than the drab budget hotels in Derby.

The room and pub were lovely, could fault the staff who were all wonderful. However we both had a steak in the pub restaurant and it was tasty but very very tough which spoilt our meal. Apart from that I would recommend for a nights stay.

Fabulous staff. Excellent food. Very comfortable bed. Shower head had a leak but was replaced very promptly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only slight criticism would be that it was a bit messy near the bedrooms.

Very clean, tidy, comfortable and spacious accommodation. Lovely to have somewhere to sit and watch a film rather than only a bed so definitely worth paying a little extra.

The property was really well decorated and clean as it has just recently been upgraded and was beautifully decorated inside. Unfortunately there has been no sound proofing in the property, so the noise from The upstairs apartment and people leaving the pub was very off putting. We have stayed at The Dragon on numerous occasions, but this will be our last time booking in here.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was great and they'd kindly set it up for our kids to have their own beds. Really clean and well provisioned. The bed was gigantic. A little hard (for us), but hundreds of cushions and we were very comfy in our room. We'd be very happy to stay again.

Super stay - high quality furnished room, and quiet late on, despite the vibrant atmosphere at the adjoining pub. Only thing I could perhaps find fault with would be the high tog rating for the duvet (which made for a rather warm night !)

Great little cottage, comfortable, I would prefer a slightly bigher bed, but it was comfortable. Living room and kitchen bwry nice. Great location with some restaurnats around it and great for a walk in thw canal.

We recieved an email from the hotel just after the free cancelation window ended, notifying us of additional charges for extra beds that we weren't expecting and that were not on our initial confirmation email after booking. Would recommend that the hotel sends out any emails with additional charge notifications within the cancelation window to give customers the opportunity to understand the full cost of their stay before they are locked in. We ended up booking another hotel for the night and losing the cost of this booking because requests made to the hotel for a refund were denied.
