When i arrived it was like i was someone they didn't like ( a very Rude man greeted me) . First thing i had to do is provide photo I.D then pay for my 2 night stay in full Plus £100 deposit for the 2 nights . Then they told me no room for parking so had to go down the road to park at a different hotel ( IF I KNEW THAT I WOULD OF STAYED AT THE OTHER HOTEL )the first night the fire alarm went off at 12.30 am . For 1/2 A hour .No apologies nothing . Wifi was rubbish ended up turning it off and using mobile network . Then to top it all off went down for advertised breakfast to some old bread with no butter or cultery .it was a disaster

Parking is advertised as included in the price, when it’s available on a first come, first served basis and there are only TWO spaces! Bed was not comfortable, only 1 pillow and that felt like resting your head on a patio slab!! On the plus side it was exceptionally cheap and I guess you get what you pay for.

I unfortunately spent 3 years living in temporary accommodation and this hotel clearly houses people in need of temp housing. Room was meant to be superior and it was far from that! Had a random fridge in my room that was too big to fit anywhere! Noisy all night with banging doors and trains. They continuously take preauthorisations for rooms and security deposits that can take up to 5 days to return. States there is parking ?? 3 bed rooms, convemient and cost effective. No seats at the reception. No outside bathroom or waiting area. After check out, they don't care much. I think making that belogingness feeling is to an extend important. I missed that. Or else worth for the money paid

The room was good. The bed was very uncomfortable though and there was dust and bugs on the headboard. I booked this for the free parking but for 30 rooms they only have 3 parking spaces And a possibility of another 5 on the opposite of the road. Of course all spaces were taken so I couldn't park there. Staff were very helpful.

Terrible from start to finish. Called and asked for a parking space . We got there and they were rude and said no spaces.we had to park 2 miles away as we got back the three empty spaces weee allotted to them No mention. Of needing a physical card to pay a deposit we had no card so they were happy to us not stay there and not refund us. We had to ask a stranger to pay for our deposit. Rooms were dirty and we think they had drugs all over the floor. Avoid

BED BUGS!!! Avoid at all costs. Staff were very friendly and helpful however at about midnight while watching a movie on my laptop, I noticed something crawling towards my face over the pillow. I quickly swatted it and turned the light on to find a patch of blood and another bed bug sat next to it. Felt very itchy afterwards and couldn't sleep in the bed so slept on a very small, uncomfortable sofa. After finally getting to sleep for an hour my neighbours came back at about 4.45 and despite them being on the floor above and me having my TV on I could hear every word of their conversation.

I booked this hotel based on its advertised images, but was shocked by the vast difference upon arrival. The hotel photos online were completely misleading and bore no resemblance to the actual condition of the property. And said 3 stars, you can’t even call it a 1 star. Worst room ever. I ask the following morning after our check in if we can move to other room they said no available room, not helpful at all. Furnitures is more worst than you see in garbage area, The furniture was old, worn, and had rips/tears. Bad smells you can smell from open window, room had a strong, musty odor and lots of insects outside literally checked out early didn’t finish our 1 day stay more because I got lots of insect bite. The overall state of the room made it impossible to feel comfortable or relax. Stay away from this hotel. Misleading pictures and rating. I even took pictures of all furnitures inside and etc. worst hotel.

I stayed at lucky 8 with my brother for my birthday for 2 nights. I had an absolutely terrible time! The room was filthy and It had silver fish under the sheets! Absolutely disgusting and when we were shown towards the room I asked the staff member Steve if they had condiments and shampoo etc and he replied saying 'we do not provide condoms' here' I was outraged as he knew it was my brother in the twin room I booked with my brother. There were rats outside. People screaming and shouting. The room stank especially the bathroom. And ontop of it all they took £100 deposit on top of the payment for the stay and was told it would be given back after 36 hours after our stay, and it hasn't been reembersed after over a week ago! Do no stay there under any circumstances. Disgraceful

There was a smelly couch in the room. Fridge didn’t work, nor did the tv. Dingy base of bed. Booked 3 nights, stay 1 because I had no place to go. Rats running in the outside. People smoking pot . Prostitution outside my door. A nightmare.

I won’t say it’s completely dirty but not my standards. The room is extremely too small. The bed blocks the bathroom door and makes it difficult to get into the bathroom and barely space to walk around the bed. I have busing all over my legs from hit the bed edge trying to walk around the bed. No air conditioner and the room wa extremely hot and with window open still hot and no screens so we have mosquito bites all over. Can’t believe they ask from £100 deposit when the hotel is more so a motel and nothing to be held money for incidental charges. Don’t stay here staff aren’t nice and the key card kept deactivating every or time using the key to get into the room.

The room i was given is definitely a hazard during hot weather. One could die of heat stroke in that room! I don't care what you do, you cannot get air in that room without an AC! The fan provided was absolutely useless! I couldn't sleep at all throughout the night due to the horrendous heat. Had to drown myself in a cold shower twice just to cool down and even that wasn't enough! I gave up and started packing to leave at 4am! It was that terrible! The person next door to me seemed to be having a mental breakdown of some sort, he slammed his door shut throughout the night and you could smell his cannabis in the room and hallway as he smoked! The room itself was decent but the overall experience was awful. I will only stay here for the location and easy access to everywhere but definitely NOT during summer!

We arrived at reception a little early but were seen promptly. Once paid and deposit taken we were handed keys and told our room was outside round the corner. This wasn't clear when we booked. We were given directions to what looked like converted houses and our room was on the 2nd floor which wasn't what we needed after a long trip. We made our way up to the room. The room itself was what you would expect for the price. The bed itself was comfy and bedding clean but it was immediately obvious the pillows were not big enough. They were extremely thin and lumpy. You could tell where previous guests had folded them over to try and get a decent night's sleep. We asked for some more on the Friday we arrived but it took 3 days and asking for a manager before we got some on the last night.

Checking out they tried to keep the cash and told me it would go back on my card that they did not let me use.

I thought ilford as an area was awful, didn’t feel safe at all, got to reception and had to pay £100 deposit for any damages which I didn’t know about, thought that was a bit extreme. Got into room and the heat hit me straight away, small, dark, dingey room with the smallest window which barely let any air in. Noisy in corridors, broken shower. My overall rating is Poor service/system! And I am not happy about the 100pd deposit policy. I didn’t read that article anywhere during my bookings; what is not ok for me are: 1. How surprised I was when I was told at the check-in that I need to pay the deposit (what will have happened if I didn’t have that in my account). 2. The deposit was then taken from my account “immediately”, why can’t it be returned also “immediately” and it has to take some days? That is a silly system. This is what may not make me want to be in a place like that again. 3. The staff don’t really have time to talk/explain things well to customers according to my observation. I need my 100p, you took it; I should not be the one to chase my bank to refund

This place had very few accommodations. Pillows were basically nonexistent. The Wi-Fi never worked service for a cell phone did not work once you were in your room meaning you needed the Wi-Fi, which did not work. Also, upon checking in the front desk did not let me use my card And made me walk to an ATM to get an exchange rate and turn in cash. Checking out they tried to keep the cash and told me it would go back on my card that they did not let me use.

First of all the woman at the counter was not helpful, she didn’t have answers to basic questions. I wasn’t even given a bill or receipt on leaving, my security deposit hasn’t been credited to me till now even after so many days of checkout, what kind of hotel is this that it takes the security deposit for so many days and there is no refund till now. Terrible from start to finish. Called and asked for a parking space . We got there and they were rude and said no spaces.we had to park 2 miles away as we got back the three empty spaces weee allotted to them No mention. Of needing a physical card to pay a deposit we had no card so they were happy to us not stay there and not refund us. We had to ask a stranger to pay for our deposit. Rooms were dirty and we think they had drugs all over the floor. Avoid

First the area in very dirty it’s full of homeless sleeping around it, there was a big mess of bins outside the property which was really smelly attracting fly in the room. Overall I had a bad experience, I wouldn’t recommend it.

We booked into lucky 8 but stayed at best western. We enjoyed our short stay, quick walk to the station freindly staff. A lot of reviews regarding the heat however I think this is just the building other then that not a bad word to say

This is not a hotel, but a motel! We stayed in an 1 room appartement 100 meters from the reception. The motels location is the only good thing to say about it. So if you want to live downtown in Illford, close to everything there and can do wirh

I thought ilford as an area was awful, didn’t feel safe at all, got to reception and had to pay £100 deposit for any damages which I didn’t know about, thought that was a bit extreme. Got into room and the heat hit me straight away, small, dark, dingey room with the smallest window which barely let any air in. Noisy in corridors, broken shower. Didn't sleep because of the heat and being bitten by something throughout the night. Hated it and won’t stay again.

When i arrived it was like i was someone they didn't like ( a very Rude man greeted me) . First thing i had to do is provide photo I.D then pay for my 2 night stay in full Plus £100 deposit for the 2 nights .
