roaches in pool area and pools and hot tubs were extremely dirty, brow water and brown white bubbles in hot tub. hard to get towels to bathe. no towels in pool area entire stay. floors were wet in room when we checked in.

Room clean except for bedspread which was very stained or dirty. Balcony seating good. Indoor pool needs cleaning. Room whirlpool did not work, balcony door would not lock. Big fridge. Not a complete set of dinnerware. Pool heated but pool area floors left open so breeze

The pool was great, hot tub great, area food good.. we had wrong size bed, but timely resolved.. the ocean front very nice.. one annoying thing was we couldn’t get pizza delivery to holiday sands

2 pools hot tub and lazy river was great after spending the day at the beach. Although the lazy river was small it was still fun

Probably should update your pictures for people looking to book. Mold under the bed. No air flow with dirty box fans for the room. Toilet seat had a nice big foot print on it. Pools were green and would probably give you some type of infection. Beds had a cheap frame with only a mattress. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

Everyone I interacted with was super nice. The hotel is in good shape. I did not use the pool and hot tub so I cannot attest to how they were. The only downside is that like many hotels the parking was on the other side of the ride and we frequently had to walk quite a bit from the hotel to our car.

Could use some updating, but otherwise not bad. Hallways and elevators a little beat up. Good check in. Friendly front desk staff. Nice pool, hot tub, and outside areas.

I thought the indoor pools was going to be warm but they was cold. Not to clean and the light on the balcony shined in our room all night the beds was hard. We heard all the cars that passed by really loud. The dishes had food all on them.

Staff kept towels supplied and were helpful. Parking areas filled up fast and has to park a distance away.

Parking was terrible but other than that service and cleanliness was good and the pool area was clean.

The room was dirty and turned our socks black, the toilet did not work, our shower barely worked. There were dead bugs in our room and the sheets did not look like they were washed.

Staff was nice. Checking was easy. But the property is dated. The rooms are dated and cleanliness doesn't seem to be a priority.

The office staff was friendly. However, the cleaning staff was absolutely lazy, would walk around face timing while pretending to clean. There was trash all over the place, inside and outside. My son's bathroom flooded in his hotel room. My mother in law could not use her balcony due to it falling apart and being absolutely disgusting. We were all moved to the other tower. We appreciated the move!! The rooms were cleaner, still not to my standards, but better. There was mold and rust throughout all three rooms. The ocean view was the only great part of the hotel! My son said the restaurant had great food. With how dirty the rest of the hotel was, I wasn't risking eating at their restaurant. They did refund us some money for our troubles, still not worth the stay.

I literally never write reviews, but feel like this one is needed. This “resort” is extremely outdated and gross. During check in, they say you can’t smoke in the buildings but the front office itself stank of cigarette smoke. We then got to our room on the 7th floor, the elevators were rusted with old vandalized posters taped to the doors. We got to our room and were hit in the face with strong chemicals. So strong that we had to air out the room all day with the door to the balcony open. Once that aired out, the real smell of the room emerged and it smelled like dirty old animals and mold. Both of the privacy sliders in the room were broken, hanging on the track by a thread. The shower was rusted and stained. The beds were made and neat, but our sheets had several stains on them to the point we just slept on the fleece blanket. In the pool area, there are cockroaches “palmetto bugs” everywhere. My 13YO son had one crawling on his shoulder in the hot tub and that was it for me. Not to mention, the “resort” itself is located at the end of the boardwalk in a very sketchy area. Right across from the “resort”, where you have to park your vehicles, are two dingy rundown little motels. My husband and myself have been in law enforcement for years and can recognize drug activity when we see it, and I assure you, it’s going on all over that area. We we were hesitant to book with all the bad reviews, but did so because my in laws chose this place. Never again.

The beach view from my balcony was amazing but the strong smell of bleach and cleaning products when I checked into my room was a bit overpowering so I had the door open to the balcony my entire stay. There were patched holes on the ceiling as well as by the baseboards to the balcony. But check-in and checkout was so easy, great staff up front and they even have a restaurant in the south building that will deliver your food to the door. I’ll definitely be booking again when I decide to do a solo trip :)

Staff was friendly but the room specifically the bathroom could have been cleaner. Hair on the toilet, base dirty, dirty bathtub. The ceiling fan was extremely dusty. Sheets were clean, kitchen area clean. This was my second time staying here, probably won’t stay again

Hallways smelled really bad

The staff was very friendly. Our room was extremely small and did nir look like the photos online. The bathroom floor was dirty and there was some type of filth on the shower wall that had not been cleaned. Location was great.

It was super dirty, mold in places, Our sheets wasn’t even cleaned The bathroom had someone’s hair left all in it. The a/c in our room was broken.

That’s complete dirty ! Old stuffs fridge dirty and old ! Pool area it’s terrible ! Green water .. it’s suppose to be clear not green ! And area of walk side dirty !

We had a room with a stove/microwave sink, and fridge. The fridge is a regular kitchen fridge, held a lot, and had a good size freezer. The kitchen had dishes, pots,drying rack, and utensils. The bathroom was small. The door to the bathroom stuck. Yiu really had to pull to open it. Shower was nice. Great water pressure. You can put your dirty towels in a bag for housekeeping to take away, they will give you new towels. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. There was a balcony facing the road, that you can sit outside and watch the cars go by. They had 2 elevators for the hotel. Pretty much not too long of wait, except when crazy busy. There is a pizza and burgers take out place on floor 2. The pool area was nice. Only in there one night. They have a small lazy river you can relax in. They also had 2 other pools, and a hot tub you can be in. The outdoor poo,is in the first building. Location is steps from the beach. The boardwalk is steps away too. Great location. You can walk to a lot of places. Parking is about a block away. They have & lots. They give yiu a 10 minute drop off space in front of hotel to unload, or load the car.

Great location, rooms need some updating, dresser draw was broke, tv had no local news had to stream from your own account if have a steaming service, which I didn’t. Although beds and bathroom were clean, floors hadn’t been swept or mopped in a long time, you can feel sand under your feet and I spilled some water, the towel I used to to mop it up was flinty! The pillows were so hard and thin I needed 3 to equal a regular pillow height. Although price was cheaper then others in area, I guess you get what you pay for and I understood that so it fulfilled my needs.

Room description said 1 king and 1 queen, room had 1 queen and 1 full, room, hotel, and pool was relatively clean, a little dated but well maintained and comfortable and safe, all the staff that i interacted with were friendly and helpful, overall very happy with my stay for the price

The room it self was okay, it was clean up on arrival. The entrance was a little weird and confusing, it didn't look like a normal hotel entrance. The bed was hard and the comforter was very light, I'm glad I brought my own blanket from home. The pillows could have been better also. The bathroom was a super tight fit and the way the door had to close was weird and tight. The balcony was the best part, it was a beautiful view. The front desk staff are super unprofessional, loud and having personal conversations while trying to check in. We went back later to ask where the breakfast cafe was located and the lady was super rude. Said there wasn't one , and when I said I seen it on the website she told me there was no mention of on the website and got argumentative with me. Just extremely unprofessional staff. Very old building.

The room looked bigger online and the bed was not very comfortable.

The price was right! And there’s a full stove oven a full-size refrigerator and a balcony overlooking the ocean and there’s Christmas lights being set up with a beautiful walkway so I’m definitely gonna have to come back in December. This is also a microwave, coffee, pot dishes, pots, and pans and a toaster.

The rooms were nice , beds killed my back bc they have metal frame and bar that goes directly under ur back so makes it really hard to sleep …cleanliness was good , everything worked as it should , showers cld use an update

If you're looking for a fancy place this isn't it. Although once we got settled in everything was just fine. We had a great view from the 5th floor and it was quiet.

The ocean view from our window and balcony was great! The room on the other hand had something to be desired! The bed looked like something make shift and was very uncomfortable! It didn’t look like a queen bed like I requested maybe a double! There was a coffee pot in the room with no coffee! If you want breakfast and you think restaurants are in walking distance forget it! There’s a pizza place next door that does have good food for lunch and dinner and icecream! You can get to the ocean in 2 minutes from the room which is great!

My son and I really enjoyed our stay. We were in an oceanfront room, so it looked like it had been updated. The hotel is definitely older, but the staff made up for that. Beds are comfy and the we didn't hear much noise from the hallwaysThe view is absolutely incredible, and I enjoyed having coffee out on the balcony every morning. It's also right on the boardwalk, so we walked up to Wicked Tuna for happy hour. I loved that the beach is literally steps away, AND you have access to all pools in both buildings. We didn't eat at the restaurant so I can't comment on that. If you're looking for a budget hotel with a great view, this is it. If you're looking for a fancy hotel when all the bells and whistles, look elsewhere.

The staff were friendly and welcoming and worked quickly to address an issue that we had with soiled sheets. The hotel is what you would expect for a sub $100 a night room. If you don't have high expectations you won't be disappointed

So they literally have flyers on the walls stating that by order of the police department you can not have people congregating on the street side. Bike week was supposedly the previous week. You couldn't get in to the parking lot or the front entry of the building for the large group of bikers and bikes parked there. Loud music and yelling at people walking and driving by. We couldn't open the doors to get the luggage cart in because they were sitting and eating right in front of them. Hard to park to unload because they and their bikes were scattered everywhere. As for the hotel, it is maybe 60%. It could be a great property, but they went about halfway with a remodel. Bandaid job instead of a real repair and upgrade. It's decent not great. Has awesome access to the beach.

Checking in and out was easy and they were friendly when I asked about the local spots

The team went above and beyond. We had an issue with our room. They immediately gave us the best available. Great communication and very friendly staff. All on point. If you are looking for a Marriott, this is not it. If you are looking for a clean room at a fair price, they got you.

Our room was facing towards the road which was fine, but the weather didn’t align right with our trip this time. However, the hotel was very clean, staff very helpful and nice. We were impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and our room. We stayed at a different hotel our last stay and it was the worst place we’ve ever been in our life. False advertising at its finest. Stay away from South Bay in and book with Holiday Sands North. It’s a great place for an affordable price. You feel safe and comfortable. We will be booking a room with them again in the future. Thank you for your outstanding service!!

The good first.. View from 7th floor was great! Beds were comfortable. Location was great as far as proximity to the boardwalk. Pools and hot tubs were ok but the water was kinda dirty and way too much chlorine. The bad.. All of the staff was rude. It was like pulling teeth to get towels and toilet paper. Only 1 ice machine worked in the whole building. Water pressure in the shower was horrible, the door to the balcony in my room barely closed. Staff was walking around at night shining flashlight onto the balconies which felt like a major invasion of privacy

Location on the boardwalk was great and the view of the beach and the ocean from our balcony was perfect. Dining, shopping and amusements were only minutes away. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Great price. Room had an apartment size refrigerator with with a freezer and microwave. Wonderful location right on the beach and boardwalk. Close to the pier and skywheel.

There are a few things that are positive about this hotel. Location is great. Yes, its on the water, and has direct, easy access to the beach. I stayed by myself, so the size of the room was fine for one person. The parking, while not the best, wasn't a deal breaker. There were several lots near the hotel. There is a limit though, when it comes to cleanliness standards. The saved pictures promoting this hotel don't serve an accurate reflection of its condition. I was upset that I paid to stay. I shouldn't have to go to Walmart and buy a blanket and pillows for the bed because I refuse to sleep with what was given. Buy flip flops for the shower because I refuse to step barefoot on the floor. I even bought a cleaning product for the shower just as an added precaution. Major improvements are needed. Location while wonderful, doesn't erase basic safety and cleaning practices.

We stayed two days here on a 9 day trip over the New Years holiday. We stayed NYE. Check in was easy and fast. The staff were super nice and informative. The location was really convenient as it was just far enough away from the boardwalk to not be crowded yet close enough to walk to. The beach is legit right behind the resort with great access. Our room was on the 5th floor with ocean view. Sitting on the balcony we were able to enjoy the ocean views and people watch. The room was nice, clean and was more updated than I thought it would be. The bathroom could have some work done to it as the vent was filled with dust like particles which blocked it completely. The toilet was loose and low to the ground. I did love the fact it had a jacuzzi tub. The elevator doors on the main floor were quite rusty but I’m assuming that is from storm flooding and salt in the air from the ocean. The pool area wasn’t too bad. It was big and added plus is the lazy river. It was pretty interesting how they can have it either indoor or outdoor with the covers over the outdoor arches. The night time around there is pretty sketchy however. Overall this is a great place to stay and I’d stay again but with more time to enjoy.

Loves the location. And we used all the pools and hot tub. We all had fun staying here. Milkshakes and chicken wings were great. Staff was super friendly,helpful and always available. It was a super smooth and relaxing stay. Would stay again some repairs being done in and around the hotel. Only thing that wasn’t clean in our room was what looked like a coffee splash on a door. And the hairdryer was crappy but still very happy with this place

Don’t be fooled by the pictures on website. The beds are full size not queen. When I said something they kept insisting they were queen. I measured them. Two adults can’t sleep in the same bed. The first room they put us in smelled like piss. I went back down and got another room. The fridge was covered in rust. The door to balcony was falling apart and hard to close. With the exception of a couple of them the front staff was rude and unfriendly. Don’t expect a hot shower they have the water heat set very low and the showers were lukewarm. If you plan on using the sofa bed you need to go down to office and ask for the sheets. They have a huge sign stating breakfast available, they don’t. When we asked they said they haven’t done that since Covid. Then why leave the sign up. The hallways were nasty. Spring break week and they were doing construction starting at 6am waking everybody up in the hotel.

Stayed here for 3 days. Its a little outdated but I have no complaints. You cant beat the convenience and price. The late night pizza place located on the 2nd floor was a definite bonus. I will be rebooking.

I chose this place because it was close to the boardwalk and the beach. We enjoyed our stay and the amenities were nice. Loved the hot tub and the lazy river. And the burger and pizza place that took place of the café had really good food and conveniently located right on the property.

Everything about this hotel was amazing. It’s our first time in Myrtle Beach. The hotel is walking distance from everything. You may need to uber to go to broadway at the boardwalk which is ten minutes away. There’s plenty of parking if you have a vehicle or you can rent a golf cart. The staff at hotel were beyond friendly. I’ll definitely stay here again !

I loved that it was literally on the beach and also the fact that there were two restaurants inside the hotel that stayed open late. It was very convenient and the pool inside the hotel was nice as well. Really enjoyed the stay and will be back!!
