Stayed 1 night

I stayed at Piccolotel Rome for one night and left feeling very frustrated. While the property markets itself as a "luxury guest house," it is essentially a standard 3-bedroom apartment converted into a homestay, which does not match the description provided online. The experience was difficult from the start. I had significant trouble getting in touch with the staff regarding check-in instructions. As a solo female traveler arriving in a new city at night, this was incredibly stressful. When I eventually reached the owner to address my concerns—including a constant electronic beeping sound that prevented me from sleeping all night—he was dismissive and passive-aggressive, insisting that I should have contacted him earlier rather than offering an apology for the multiple issues I encountered. Beyond the communication and noise problems, the quality of the amenities was poor. The towels provided were clearly worn out, feeling stiff and over-used. Additionally, the "breakfast" offered did not meet any reasonable expectation of a guest house; it consisted only of pre-packaged, sealed food items. I cannot recommend this property to anyone expecting a professional, comfortable, or hospitable experience.

The owner, Alex, was extremely helpful with directions to the property from the airport & to local places of interest. He gave very specific instructions for features of the property & also recommended an excellent local restaurant. We enjoyed our time in Rome!

I enjoyed my stay at Piccolotel - I had some work in Ostiense, a short bus trip or a 25 minute walk, past the fascinating Basilica of Saint Paul. The room is clean and a good size; there is access to a kitchen (which is stocked up for an Italian breakfast). The transport links are very good - I could get to the Trastevere area on the number 8 tram in about 20 minutes. There is a good place for a cold beer and burger on Via Enrico Fermi and other cafes nearby.
