Property was nice and harbor sky lounge had good drinks and pricey.

Great location on the waterfront. Good value for families wanting a breakfast for early risers. Limited restaurant facilities on site after 0900 hrs. Good gym but no hot tub.

SpringHill Suites has become a favorite for our family, thanks to the spacious rooms that can accommodate four people fairly comfortably. I was in San Diego for a conference and brought my family along so we could spend time together and they could enjoy a bit of a vacation. The beds were comfortable, the rooms were quiet and clean, and—perhaps my favorite part—the coffee was surprisingly good. It was nice not having to spend $4 a day at a local café just to get a decent cup. The breakfast buffet also exceeded expectations; my family really enjoyed it, which isn’t always the case with hotel breakfasts. We did have a couple of minor complaints: the room never quite cooled down enough, even with the mild weather outside, and the pool felt like an afterthought. It was small and there was no hot tub, which was a bit of a letdown. All in all, though, it was a solid stay and a great choice for families looking for comfort and convenience.

Clean and friendly hotel- pool very small- no restaurant to buy food at, too many non-hotel guests at pool made it too overcrowded. But we still enjoyed our stay! Very convenient, good breakfast. Great staff!

No spa. Pool not heated. I gave the 3 stars based on the location and close proximity to the beach but k wouldn’t stay here again. There’s few amenities, nothing to keep kids busy. Breakfast buffet is free and included which is a plus - but there’s very limited options (basic continental, no mimosas etc). Overall - bleh!

What was interesting was the EV chargers were only available to guests that use the valet. It was a great idea because without it guests would squat on the charger well beyond full charge and deprive others who need to charge

Check-in was fast and easy. The hotel is beautiful and located in an excellent location to where we needed to be. Room is good size. Could use some better cleaning and the carpet was pretty dirty. We had to call front desk 3 times to get more towels but other than that we had a great time and will definitely stay again. There’s a Starbucks right next door. Also, great views of the bay.

The property is excellently maintained, the room was clean, spotless and the staff was outstanding very friendly and accommodating!

The air conditioning in my room stopped working the second day I was there. After speaking with the front desk, and being told an engineer would be right up, I waited 45 minutes before calling down to the front desk again. I waited another 30 minutes and the unit started back up again and the error code on the thermostat disappeared. While I was sleeping the unit once again stopped working and the error code reappeared on the thermostat. I called the front desk and they again told me an engineer would be up immediately. After another 45 minute wait, I called downstairs again and asked for a different room. They were happy to give me a free upgrade. Upon moving to a new room that was supposedly ready, I found a used bar of soap in the shower. The rug in the main room was stained and I just didn’t feel that the room had been properly cleaned. It was my last night there so I just let it be. All in all I was disappointed with my stay. The folks at the front desk were very friendly and engaging, but there is clearly a breakdown in communication somewhere. This could be a lovely hotel. The location is great, but the hotel leaves much to be desired.

Most everything was ok, but having to wait 3+ hours to get our room and then not being allowed to have a late check out was terrible The yellow couches in the lobby are disgusting, very dirty. And some pillows on tje couch in our room were all torn and old.

VERY CLEAN

Hussein greeted us very warmly when we checked in. Then we got into our room. There was wet toilet paper on the floor by the toilet and on the sofa. The blinds didn't shut all the way due to a design flaw so it was bright 24/7. The bed was hard and uncomfortable. We didn't sleep well and left very sore. The walls shook every time someone let a door close. The crack under the door was also too large and light in.

The property was in a great location and the staff was very friendly. The rooms however, were pretty dirty. The floor sprcifically was pretty bad. I contacted Marriott about the stay and their response was pretty subpar. For the rate of this room, we should not have to deal with the condition of the floors.

Great hotel, but at times could be noisy. We were on the 6th floor above and near the conference/meeting facilities and the bar (which closed early enough to not be an issue directly). A perhaps odd observation, the doors to rooms are really quite loud, they slam shut. Not ideal if you are wanting a lazy morning. Great complimentary breakfast, great bar, great location for local dining, attractions and public transport links

Everything was exceptional including the view, location, breakfast and staff. Only issue was the Saturday night downtown noise and noise from adjacent rooms .

Springhill is an excellent hotel with a convenient location and experienced personnel. Complementary breakfast has a pretty standard food variety. I wish they could introduce more options, but it was not bad, much better than in some other hotels. Good WiFi quality. The only thing I disliked and that made me upgrade my room was the small size of their sofa bed. They named it double, but we realized it was smaller than the "full" size. If you have two kids younger than 10, you should be fine. Otherwise, consider a room with two queen beds.

confusing room layout, with a TV between the sitting room and the bedroom. That meaning, awkward to watch in bed because you have to rotate it, but also awkward to watch from the couch for the same reason. Bed was horrendously uncomfortable, making it impossible to get a continuous good night of sleep. Whether on your side or back, it was just awfully hard.

Chelsea customer service was extremely helpful and friendly. The room 15th fl was not soundproof noise from plains people walking hallway. Did not have a safe

The hotel is very clean, reasonably updated and the staff is very friendly. Breakfast is fairly typical continental breakfast with a few options. Most of the hotel was great. The bads- Do NOT get sucked into paying for a “ocean view”. Paid for that and stayed in room 615. Our view was the hotel across from us and the rooftop of the outdoor lounge area. If we walked all the way up to the glass and looked to our right we could see a slab of water. This is NOT and ocean view. The other bad is get ready for a chiropractor visit because the bed was EXTREMELY hard. It was like sleeping on a board. Love the hotel but the bed was the worst and the view was not what we paid for so very mixed review.

It could’ve been better if the shower is a little bit stronger because it will took you a little while because of the water flow of the shower. We booked the corner room with a bayview and it’s worth it, the view is amazing.

Room was okay, but the comforter had a huge rip in it. The front desk guy was a bit off but we didn't have any troubles checking in. The waiter at the 5th floor bar was totally worthless. Brought us drinks, but no glass. Brought us food, but no utensils. Asked for a take-away box, but he never came back after we paid. Odd charges showing up now on my credit card for $20, $60, $10.01, and a few others.

The front desk person (Hussein?) was top notch. He was friendly and professional and went above and beyond in his assistance and actions. He alone is the reason I would stay again without a second thought!

This could be a great hotel. It’s blessed with a terrific location. But it is operated to strive for mediocrity, and barely succeeds at that. In a five day stay the housekeeping staff managed to clean our room once. From desk staff often seems not to care. The design and decor is basic and fails to live up to the properties potential. We visit San Diego often, but I will not reserve in Springhill again.

I visited the city for a baseball game. Check in was at 3 pm, showed up at 3:15 and was told that my room was not ready, they asked for my phone number and told me that they would call me. I asked how long would it take to have an idea and see if I could go walk around but the lady at the front desk said "That I don't know" I approached another front desk employee and said maybe an hour. I came back an hour and 10-15 minutes later and I was told that it wasn't ready, that they had been fully booked and that because it was one of the biggest rooms, it needed a deeper cleaning. I had to go to the game without a room or space to get ready and finally around 5:20 they called me to say that my room was ready. I was able to check in after the game and I was gifted with a voucher for some ridiculous chips and salsa. My plans to go early to the area around Petco Park was obviously ruined and I was not able to stay after the game because I wanted to go and check to pay because they didn't let me do that before. This is the first bad experience I have and I'm sure that expedia was not responsible, they did help me calling the hotel to find out if something was wrong and they got me an hour late check out which I didn't need. I understand that they were fully booked the days before. The check out is at 11 and I was there at 3 pm but called me at 5, do they really take 6 hours to clean a room? Also, I paid for the bay view but I got the partial bay view. I'm not coming back.

Check-In was a breeze. Jeff at the front desk was friendly and efficient. He got us a great room with a view of the waterfront. It exceeded our expectations. We hope to stay here again on our next trip to San Diego.

It was a very nice hotel stay other than the fact that when we called to ask for extra towels and some items we forgot that we called guest services about. They never brought the items to our room. The parking fee was also not mentioned when we reserved the room as an additional fee.

This could vary on timing, but we had loud and rowdy guests the entire time on our floor. I’m writing this review because the staff that weekend didn’t seem to really care. I called down to the receptionist 3x past 10pm, and they kept saying they didn’t hear/see people in the hallway even though it was clear there were a lot of drunk people right outside our door. By the third call, the staff finally did do something about it, but he seemed more annoyed with my calls than trying to provide proper customer service. Noise was a big issue for us all weekend between multiple different guests, and the hotel management did not seem to take it seriously. We will not be returning as it was extremely disturbing.

Mark at the front desk was incredible! He was able to check our large group in early, which was a relief after getting off the cruise ship. He even made sure our two rooms were adjoining for convenience. And when he noticed rooms on a higher floor (this better view) became available, he upgraded us with no hesitation! We stayed here years ago and with this experience, we’re definitely sure to come again. Also the location is a big positive if you’re going to/coming from a cruise as it’s right across the street from the cruise port. Will definitely stay again!

There is no reason to stay anywhere else, but Springhill Suites Sowntown San Diego. Hussein was extremely nice and check us in. He gave us so much insight on what the hotel had to offer. He was always pleasant and helpful throughout our stay. The hotel is near everything!! It’s right across the street from USS midway, all boat tours, boardwalk. Seaport village, restaurants, bike rental, Gaslamp , souvenir shops, the trolley tour and local vendors. Loved the location!! Breakfast was delicious and it has a rooftop bar with views of the harbor. Cons: they clean the room every other day and parking is $45 a night. I love this hotel and will tell family and friends to stay here.

Awesome hotel and great staff that was very accommodating. Made hotel check in easy! Hotel was a great area. Only down fall was hearing the horn from the ship early in the morning lol. But that wasn’t too much of a big deal!

Loved that it was so close to everything- walk the marina, short walk to Seaport Village, Gaslamp District and Little Italy. Less than a block away from the Santa Fe train station where you can jump on the train to get to the beaches and Carlsbad Outlets. The pool is clean and heated and on the roof of the 5th floor so you’re away from everybody but still have amazing views. Breakfast was busy but lots of variety and well stocked. All staff from housekeeping to the kitchen staff were incredibly friendly and professional. I was there as a single mom with teenaged daughters and we felt very safe and comfortable in the hotel and getting around the city. One of the best vacations I’ve had in quite a while!

On the waterfront right across from the ferry to Coronado Island. Multiple nearby dining options/Little Italy.

The staff here was amazing, helpful, and friendly. The location right across the street from the boardwalk and the Midway was great and convenient for walkers. It was easy to walk 15-20mins to the convention center, Gaslamp, and Petco. The views of the bay from the hotel room were also superb! The best of the hotels that I have stayed at in San Diego thus far, by far! I’ll be back next year July again!

Like that it had easy access to the port. We walked right across the road to the ship to board our cruise.

Hotel was in a great location for the USS midway and only a short walk to the seaport village and 20 mins walk to Petco park for the baseball. However, if you’re a light sleeper be aware the airport is very close by and you’ll be aware of the constant drone of take offs if your room faces that direction. Also, house keeping is every 2 days here and we didn’t have a safe in our room which wasn’t great at all. Breakfast was average. On busy days, it was a complete riot with people pushing in and a lack of tables in the main area. There was also a lack of fresh fruit on offer but they did have waffle machines which my kids loved. A couple tweaks here and there and this hotel would have been brilliant especially with its downtown location. But 3 stars seems fair on our experience.

Great location withing walking distance of Little Italy, the Midway and all sorts of stuff. Quick 7$ uber to Gaslamp etc. We will definitely stay here again. Staff was exceptional and cleaning folks were super great.

Hotel is ideally located for all San Diego public transport, being barely four minutes walk from the Santa Fe Depot. Staff are incredibly welcoming, efficient, helpful, and understanding. Rooms are well appointed and quiet. Breakfast offers decent range of warm, cold, and healthy food.

The location couldn’t be beat! Our room had a beautiful view, steps to everything we had on the agenda, and great front desk staff. Breakfast was good, too. Would definitely stay here again!

Kind and helpful staff. It should be mentioned that this hotel has a full hot breakfast daily all included. They serve all you can eat fresh waffles, sausages, pancakes, coffee, juices, cereals, fruit, eggs, oatmeal. Absolutely outstanding!! Phenomenal value. Kids and adults loved it. Staff was welcoming and lovely clean dining area with plenty of tables and beautiful views.

It’s convenient walkable to little Italy. Didn’t like there breakfast selection thought everything tends to have too much spice my kids couldn’t handle that spice as off everyone east spice. Statues there 4 days out of the 4 day one served bacon once. The selection for breakfast was not good. Very few waffle machines long lines.

I thought the 5th floor estaurant was horrible. There really wasnt a kid menu and i sent back the plain cheesburger i ordered. They had it dipped in some strange tomato sauce, one bite and I thought i would be ill. If there was a decent restaurant at hotel we would have eaten dinner 4 or 5 nights of our stay

Great stay! Convenient location to the farmers market, gaslamp district, little italy, shopping. Breakfast was great-plenty of options for everyone. The 1 downside is that there was a barking dog a few doors down from us.

Beds were comfortable. They advertise free breakfast and it's a full spread. It's not great and definitely not upscale as the hotel would suggest. The hotel is next to the Marina and it's easy to walk around the area.

Great location, quick walk to Little Italy. Breakfast in the mornings were great though too crowded. "Rooftop" bar left a little to be desired but plenty of local options.

Pros: Excellent customer service. Very clean room with amazing views. Cruise pier across the street so perfect location for cruise passengers. Very close to Seaport Village. Cons: Complimentary buffet breakfast has limited options and is very crowded - not easy to find a table. Full serve restaurant is only open for dinner and only has outdoor seating. If staying on a higher floor, waits can be long for an elevator during busy times.

The staff there were very helpful and nice. The breakfast was pretty big with a lot to choose from. The bar had a great view of the bay.
