The location of this property was very conveniently located by food and freeways. Room was spacious and very clean. Cleaning staff was always around. Nice breakfast and helpful staff. Didn’t use the pool but it looked nice.

It was a regular hotel stay but overpriced, and parking was also overpriced given the location. Breakfast was disappointing - the sausages were bland and salty, and the only solid thing was the oatmeal. We tried the outdoor fire pit but it emitted a high pitched squeal so wasn’t very relaxing. The worst thing was the ANTS. We brought some snacks from home and everything was crawling with a crazy number of ants in the morning - we had to toss it all out. The front desk did give us a small credit which we appreciated, but unfortunately we won’t be coming back.

Rooms need an upgrade similar to front lobby. Pool was clean, heated and enjoyable! Items at the market are definitely overpriced ($3.25 for one cup n noodles is insane) but definitely convenient. Parking was not gated but easy and on property, $27 a night. Breakfast was not my favorite, not many options and ends way too early. Was going to use dryer but $4 a load and all quarters, however there was no machine to convert to quarters. Stayed 3 nights, 4 days with small children.

The only issue I had was when they charged $25 per night for parking, I asked if they had security and was told no. So they charged me to park but no security was there to ensure my vehicle wasn't going to be broken in to.

Had a few issues with uniformed/not informative staff (they were nice but didn’t tell me I was being charged 25$ a day for parking, little things… it was loud, the pool was very small and only 4ft deep, the free breakfast was disappointing even for being free. Just a weird place. Looks nice, but underwhelming and overpriced.

The property was spotless, and the front desk people were incredibly friendly and helpful. They offered us a curated list of suggested restaurants (with feedback from the staff). Pool was very nice - heated, outdoors, with (small) pool towels available at the front desk. Location is fantastic - and is right next to a Starbucks! It was an easy 15 minute drive to the Zoo, Target/Ralphs, La Jolla and downtown San Diego. Breakfast was so-so - pretty much what you'd expect for free. They only do freshmade waffles on weekends at this location. Room was clean, and everything was working great. Parking was $27 per night, which seemed excessive - the location is off a highway and it's unlikely anyone is parking there other than hotel guests, so it felt like a money-maker. Sofa bed could use a new mattress and was small, but otherwise, was comfortable. The staff and location were the best features!

To begin with the tub had water in it. How would I know if it’s clean water or not? So it was gross to have to dip my hand in it and open the drain. Then I noticed the shower curtains were dirty. It looked like rust but shower curtains are like $2/3 so there’s no reason to have dirty ones. Then my wife thought she smelled pee and later we found one of the sofa cushions felt damp. I did not smell it to verify. Lol. But I do want to note that the front desk staff and breakfast staff were super friendly and helpful. I would give them 5 stars. But overall I would not come back. Location played a huge part with securing a room. However, the amount paid didn’t equate to room condition. We had ants in one room and were transferred to another. The room had a damped old smell to it. Breakfast options, mediocre. Overall, ok place to stay. Thankfully it was only for 3 nights and barely was there.

Our room had food debris and socks from previous guest on sofa bed. Staff couldn’t change our room due to hotel being sold out. Staff offered to clean the dirty sofa bed. The mattress on sofa bed was worn and thin. Had to have my adult son sleeping with me and wife on bed due to uncomfortable sofa bed. Breakfast area trash can was overflowing. Breakfast staff closed the breakfast 10 minutes before closing time at 10am. Food was no longer replenished by 9:15am. Couldn’t believe this was a Marriott property because we received a less than expected brand standard services.

Disappointing stay for these reasons: 1. Room had mosquito infestation (in December!). Got several bites. Also had small gnats/moths. 2. HVAC unit leaked onto floor near bed. We told the staff (1 night into a 3 night stay), someone put down a towel as the "fix." 3. Parking at $25/night in its own lot in a suburban setting was a rip-off, shame on you guys. 4. Hotel is near nothing other than a freeway and a small shopping center. 5. Breakfast was awful: powdered eggs, waterlogged sausages, and weak bakery items, along with watered down juices. On the plus side, front desk folks were nice, and bed was comfortable. Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

We had a nice stay. Surprisingly quiet being so close to a major roadway. Pool was very clean and salt water, no chlorine! Separate toilet and shower rooms very nice with multiple people in one room. Would rather have bathroom door that didn’t show light through it so everyone isn’t woke up when someone has to use the bathroom during the night.

We were on the fifth floor and on the freeway side. It was very noisy. On the positive side, there are a lot of dining options just a couple of minutes away down the street. Staff was very nice. Room was well maintained and clean.

The hotel is nice and the room is good. It’s just with the price I paid the room is smaller than I expected. I know it’s not right if I compare the hotel in San Diego with hotels in Las Vegas but I didn’t feel comfortable that much . The suit of Venetian Las Vegas is double size and for me is free in there 😝

My family and I have stayed at Springhill Suites in other locations and have always loved the property. My son especially loves the free breakfast and the variety is good. My only issue is about the noise from the freeway. Our room was facing the freeway and it was quite noisy. Check-in was easy and efficient. Thank you to the housekeeping staff for accommodating a room clean even though they were almost done for the day.

The SpringHill is a great hotel and this location was perfect for our trip exploring colleges around San Diego. The only odd thing about the hotel is the frosted glass for the bathroom and lack of bathroom door lock. You can absolutely see your family member (teenager etc) on the other side of the frosted glass. We had to move to the other side of the room when someone was showering.

During breakfast the potatoes were raw and not cooked, could offer maybe a little more variety for breakfast. Hotel charges guests 26 dollars a day for parking in thier lot with out telling you. Until you find it on the bill during check out. Very deceitful and sneaky way to claim extra money from guests.

We are beyond exhausted for our dog needed surgery and we drove 2 hours for him to get surgery in San Diego. Maria at the front desk was SUPER KIND and so understanding and really made our day by helping us to the room sooner than expected. She asked if we were hungry as well and made sure we were OK. We truly felt like family here.

I was in town for my Grandfather’s funeral, so I was limited in the options for my stay due to the timeframe for planning the trip. I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the hotel. The staff was genuinely kind and showed so much empathy to me. I never had to ask twice for anything, and I was always met with a smile, and kind words. I was greeted each time I walked in and the staff remembered me and my circumstances. They were quick with suggestions and recommendations for things in the area that would suit me. The breakfast was nice and seemed to consider many food sensitivities. The house keeping staff was amazing, always one step ahead of any needs that arose. Excellent experience in a very rough time of life.

A lot of light coming in from the nightlight feature on the bathroom switches - so bad that we had to put a band-aid and piece of paper over it to get the light to stop. The breakfast left a lot to be desired, and that was a main reason we picked this hotel. Please consider getting more diabetic/low sugar options and some 1/2 and 1/2 for the coffee station. The room was clean, spacious and lovely otherwise and the staff was super kind!

Good location and facility. We did the daily parking fee of $25 posted anywhere on hotels.com and it wasn’t disclosed upon check-in. It isn’t a downtown location so it seemed senseless, and we weren’t very happy that it wasn’t disclosed because it was another $150 for our stay: Breakfast was ok. Instant eggs (I get it- inflation) and waffles were only available on the weekend.
