Stayed for a week. Had suite with 2 queens and a pull out sofa. Great location. Close to Target, TraderJoe’s shops and restaurants. Clean rooms although room service is every second day and bedding isn’t changed. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. Pull out sofa was not comfortable. My teenage son had terrible sleeps. It was very warm while we were there and AC had a hard time keeping up. The breakfast is very repetitive and many things are out after the first hour. Tea and coffee available 24hrs. Manager reception with light meal and beer Mon/Tues/Wed. Downstairs is an adequate gym with treadmills, elliptical and weights, a game room and a laundry with 2 washers and 2 dryers (3.00$ for each)

The pool was extremely small and there was no jacuzzi. There was no pictures on google so I could not see that the pool was basically a giant bath tub. Also not a single room in the hotel had bath tubs only showers. It was very disappointing

Went to San Diego 10 days for my birthday here. They serve both breakfast buffet and some food in the eve as well daily. Very nice room with seperate pull out couch in living room with door to isolate the bedroom from living room if one person wants to sleep. This location is across parking lot from Beni Hanna's so if you want a nice dinner it's convenient. Maid's & staff very friendly. Asked front desk for late check out day before and they told me no so I don't know if I should have asked for late check out when I booked my trip instead. We did laundry on site in basement so very convenient for extended stays and they had a machine near front desk to get quarters for laundry. Only thing they didn't have was a hot tub/ jacuzzi

The beds and linens were not great. The mattresses are past due for replacement and the linens were jokingly called prison blankets during our stay. The room was quiet enough and the room had plenty of space. The pool was unheated and tiny, but we were expecting that based on reviews. The breakfast was great and the service was good throughout our stay.

Horrible trip, first thing we notice was trash in the hallway next to our door as we were going to our room. Then there was a roach crawling on the door! That next night the knob for the shower broke off. No one could service it til the following day, fine! 3rd night barking and fighting dogs in the room below us, front desk response and it’s almost 11pm Security hasn’t arrived so there’s nothing we can do. She didn’t even notify the next shift! I had to go downstairs and tell them myself! Not to mention their breakfast is horrible! I will be going back to Candlewood! Not ever staying at Homewood Suites again!

We were initially impressed with the lobby upon check in. However, when we entered our room, we noticed how old and not well maintained the rooms was. We were in a one bedroom suite for our party of three. Let’s being with the kitchen: the pantry and kitchen cabinet doors were literally falling off the hinges and the floor had clearly not been mopped. Next the living room area: also not vacuumed and the carpeting was clearly starting to pill and had snags in it. Onto the bedroom: the bed was creaky, sheets were old and the blanket was thin and worn; carpeting in here was also worn and had lots of snags in it also. The bathroom was large and spacious but not a lot of lighting as there were no windows. Water pressure for the shower was basically non-existent, and some of the towels had stains on them. All the walls had some wall papering, but the overall feel of them was just dated. We were really disappointed in the overall quality of the room. Parking could be better, as overflow fell into the Benihana restaurant parking area. Staff services was generally friendly, but I didn’t need them for much. I am a Hilton member and asked for a later check out. My request was denied as they said they said they were fully booked for the next round of guests. Overall, just not impressed. Will not be returning for future visits.

The receptionist was welcoming and friendly, the breakfast was well attended. The room (306) however, was really cold upon our arrival so I turned up the thermostat and also noticed a smell that could have been carpet cleaner solution. The rest of the room was clean, it was until I pulled out the sleeper sofa that we noticed a faint urine smell. As the room began to warm up a bit the urine odor got stronger. My husband and I spent the night on sleeper sofa so our grandchildren would not have to be breathing in the urine odor. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep through the night since the smell got stronger. I didn’t call the receptionist since I was told housekeeping staff left at 9pm. and switching rooms would have been a hassle since our grandchildren had already fallen asleep. I do regret my decision of just dealing with the smell through the night. Upon check out, I did inform the front desk receptionist about the urine odor, she politely apologized, however, I do hope that the room gets a deeper cleaning so to avoid any more guests deal with such issues. I’m aware that your company allows pets in the rooms and hopefully you can do a better job in making sure the rooms are clean and odor free. Thank you

This was one of the cleanest, nicest hotel we’ve stayed in! Here for a family vacation with kids and the staff was wonderful, super clean, great breakfast and nice pool area. Very impressed. Love the little kitchen area in the rooms.

We had a large ant infestation in the room (hundreds) and also had a lot of damage (unstapled carpets, tears in wallpaper, splintered wood and doors, etc). There was an offer to spray the room with insecticide but we declined since we were traveling with an infant and didn't want the exposure. The breakfast was good.

The suite was good sized, but our AC was broke from the time we arrived. We had to have them come 3 times before they decided it needed to be replaced but couldn’t be done until we checked out. It was humid and stagnant in the room because, of course, the windows can’t be opened either. We got the suite for the pullout for our kids, but they were forced to sleep on the floor around our bed because the room had a ceiling fan, which allowed some type of relief from the stickiness in the air. The bathroom had an ant problem as well, so they woke up with ants on their sheets. And let’s not get started on the parking. It is $26 dollars a night and like being in the hunger games. If you are lucky enough to find a spot, don’t leave again because it will be gone and you will be forced to park on the street about a mile away because even the street parking is taken. It was pretty much an awful back to school trip for the kids. This place needs to figure some things out! But, the staff was super friendly and there is continental breakfast which is always nice.

This hotel is a hidden gem in the San Diego hotel circle. I've stayed at many hotels in San Diego area over the years and this is one of the best. What i saw of the hotel itself it's been recently updated or well kept. The lobby was nice and spacious. The pool was small but it was heated and was never crowded. The free breakfast was one of the best I've experienced and they had a "reception" on a couple weekday nights with free beer and wine as well as food. The one night we went to it they had hotdogs and salad. As for the room we had the family suite for 6 people. The room had a bedroom with 2 queens and a living room with a pull out. The room also included a full kitchen. Large fridge, dish washer (there were cabinets with dishes), microwave and small stove. The room was more than enough space for the six of us. The bathroom was also large with a big shower. My only complaint would be that the beds were pretty firm. We stayed over a week and when in the room never heard any noise from outside or from another room. Not even people walking in the floor above us. Definitely would stay here again.

Springs poking up, for kids to say it was bad, it’s prob way worse for adults. The counter was missing a chair and the office chair was broken and leaning all the way back.

I chose this Homewood Suites for its good ratings and location centrally located. It is close to a freeway entrance and made it easy to get around San Diego. However, I have to comment that the walls for our room were so thin, that the noise level coming from the adjacent rooms next to us and above us was unbearable. I am a relatively light sleeper, so hearing people walk around above us and the conversations and activity next door to us made it very difficult to get any rest while in the room. I noticed the issue as soon as we checked in and quickly ask the front desk staff to change rooms, but unfortunately they said the hotel was all booked and basically gave me the shrug and "there is nothing we can do" comments. I was hoping it was an isolated incidence of noise, but it didn't let up the entire time of our stay. I don't think we were alone either in dealing with the thin walls as I noticed a nearby resident also standing outside his door trying to determine where the noise he was experiencing was coming from. The problem is that all the walls are too thin. Noise was coming from above us and around us. I think this is a fatal flaw for anyone considering staying at this hotel. When you have many families traveling to this destination and trying to enjoy themselves (which I don't fault), but the rooms are so poorly constructed that I could literally hear what people are saying (no privacy), we ultimately checked out a night early because it was so bad.

My family reserved the suite for 4 nights. During our 1st night, a team member came to our door at night, stating that a guest below us stated we were noisy and our kids were walking around too loud. We were surprise by the acquisition as our kids were on the couch with their IPADs being very quite. On the second night, my husband went downstairs to the concierge to request for towels when he was told that we had another complaint. We were not in the hotel at all that day and when we arrive back, the kids were sound asleep so there were zero noise level. At that point, my husband was upset and the person at the concierge desk (we think it was a manager) stated that they are just telling ALL guest this information. On the third day, we walked by a housekeeping cart to grab additional towels since no one ever came to deliver them. Within 10 mins after, a hotel employee gave us only 1 towel and stated we took 4. We had to show the staff that we only grabbed two. After the experience we had, my husband and I decided to check out at 8pm vs. staying additional night we paid for. The next day, I checked my account and an additional charge of $21 was booked to my cc. When I called the hotel, the receptionst could not help me and told me someone will call me back. Never got a call. Called the following day, and again, had to leave a vm. Called again the day after that (Friday now) and was told no manager was available until Monday due to staffing issues. WOW.

Don't stay if you are handicapped and need an assessments room! Read below. We booked a 2 queen handicap roll in shower. Called and confirmed earlier in the day that we would be in late but still coming. Arrived and the gave us a king non handicap room. When we complained at the desk the staff member said take it or leave it and refused to speak to us any further because we complained that they gave our room away. We tried to explain we have 3 people and and handicap person that needed the roll in shower. She told to talk to the manager in the morning but there nothing she can do and to not speak to her any further. She also told us it was $65 to park on property while the website said $26. She told us to park on the street. I have never been treat so badly at a Hilton property. Also the bed was hard as a rock. My handicap spouse wasn't able to shower because it was not and ADA shower. NEVER AGAIN staying here

We booked a room under Expedia. Our arrival for Early check-in was not honored but we didn't mind since it was our first time here, we went sightseeing, and we went back in at 4 pm our room was still not ready finally at 530pm we were ready to check in! Homewood made us feel comfortable after the extended time we waited they comped us an extra room since our suite was not ready. Despite the check-in and not having the room ready for us THEY MADE SURE THEY DID WHAT THEY CAN TO MAKE US COMFORTABLE AND MADE SURE OUR STAY WAS A GREAT ONE. THEY MADE UP FOR ALL THE ARRIVAL FALL THROUGHS!!! WITH THAT SAID A RETURN IS LOOKING GOOD FOR A FUTURE VISIT!!!

This hotel is in within a 20 minute driving distance to most popular attractions around San Diego. It is not walkable, though. Lots of amenities like Target, Trader Joe's and restaurants are nearby. The hotel room itself was fine except for the two interior doors not working properly. The one dividing the rooms was so loose it would not close and the one on the bathroom required immense strength to close. The breakfast is available with a lot of options, but the eggs and meat selection were ok. Overall a fine option for families, but could be a little better.

We loved staying at the Homewood Suites and would stay there again. Everything about our stay was wonderful except for breakfast. I was less than impressed with the variety of breakfast foods available and with the cleanliness of the breakfast area. Every time we were in the breakfast area, the clean dishes and silverware were sticky, like the dishwasher wasn\'t working properly. The housekeepers and desk employees were very nice, but the workers in the breakfast area were quite unpleasant to deal with. For example, I saw a worker turn off a waffle-maker on someone who was actively making a waffle at exactly 9:30 AM because breakfast was over. I thought that was pretty unnecessary. For $500 a night, I would think that a "hi, please finish up because breakfast was over" would have been a little more kind than racing out from the back of the house and making everything immediately inaccessible. It wasn\'t a good look for the brand.

My family of 5 stayed here for a few nights and we enjoyed it. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The free breakfast was decent as expected with any hotel breakfast. Our favorite was the waffles. They had a happy hour every evening for 2 hours with snacks, which consisted of either chicken fingers, bbq pork sliders or chicken taquitos. They had a soup and salad each night plus beer or wine for free. Overall I would stay here again and recommend this hotel.
