This was nothing more than a very expensive hostel. Really a dump for the price. Location was good. Parking was a nightmare. I picked this place because they had parking but then when we arrived, nothing was available Excellent restaurant though!

There is a hilarious sarcastic morning host at the front desk. This place has a funky retro vibe and the bar plays great music. Rooms are clean and comfortable and lots of windows. The family room is nice in that the parent’s bed is separated somewhat by a wall and closet for privacy. Outside are the public swimming lanes of Amsterdam harbour and garden tables which are lovely to sit at and have a drink. All the serving staff are very friendly. This is a little gem just outside of city centre where there are nice lawns and it is away from traffic in general. It is very picturesque. Much more affordable than rooms downtown though probably not for travellers seeking a luxury experience. I definitely want to come back and see some live music next time and would use this as my home base again. While the property is great for the budget as an accommodation the food and drink is not inexpensive, but it is of better value in quality than you will find at tourist spots in the city centre.

Very cool building in a fantastic location. Reasonable walk to the main tourist areas and short walk to the train station. Comfortable clean rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast was delicious. Very limited onsite parking, was able to find offsite paid parking reasonably close.

Really enjoyed our 6 night stay. Hotel is about 15-20 min walk from Central Station. Really liked the location and the quirkiness of the hotel. Very friendly and welcoming vibe. Rooms are a good size, very clean. Nice bar and restaurant. Would definitely stay again.

When I first arrived and went to my room it is not what I expected. That room was quite small and warm. Thankfully there were windows to open to let in fresh air. I would not stay during the warmer months with no AC. It is a brewery so there were loud guests outside until quite late but I put in ear plugs. Easy walking distance from downtown area. The breakfast was extra, but quite tasty. The view from the breakfast area was nice. I would stay again as long as it was during cooler months.

A quirky hotel with a clean room, friendly front desk staff (Larissa was awesome!), and a cat! Loved the story of how she got her name, Amy Winehouse. Food in the restaurant was tasty. Little further from city center than we expected, but easily reached by public transport or Uber. Elevator a little slow, but the let you know that when you check in 😉. Loved looking out on the harbor and watching the sunsets.

Stayed for one night before a Viking cruise due to easy walking proximity to dock ( as well as lots of sights in Amsterdam)..their restaurant was a WONDERFUL choice for dinner after a long day of re- exploring the city ...as for a room facing the water....much prettier views!

Great facility for hanging out. The sauna was added bonus

Very laid back, quirky spot. Even went swimming off the dock out back. Restaurant food and staff excellent.

This is a lovely quirky place. The food is excellent and the room clean. Staff is ecclectic, but everyone is super friendly and all ages were represented. A little out of the way, but at 1am I appreciate that I am next to a dog park and not a coffee shop or bar, and the walk to city center is maybe 15 minutes. If you live with a morning coke drinker be advised no soda's are served on site but the coffee is excellent. Can't wait to come back

It was really good, everything was clean and there was a supermarket in a 15 min walking distance and the central station in about 20 to 25 minutes. It was really quite, i liked that😄

Fun spot for sure, dated but clean. Short walk from train station (about 17 mins if you are a fast walker). However we had some issues. Baggage hold area is next to front desk but seems to be located in an area a few people may have access and when you ask to leave baggage they open the door and let you drop/pick-up yourself, no tagging...so bit of a risk there if you have valuables in your bags. Our room, although dated as expected seemed pretty clean. However in the queen bed someone had slept underneath the sheets directly on the mattress cover and it had clearly not been washed. There were fresh spots of blood, hair, etc. Luckily we had booked the family room so we slept in the two single beds instead (it was just one night and we had no spare time left in our day to manage). I'm actually shocked room cleaning pulled dropped fresh sheets on this, it was clearly dirty. So we'll give it three stars.

Very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has such a great vibe. Rooms are very nice and extremely clean. If we’re ever back in Amsterdam we’ll be staying here again!

A very nice hotel with a retro feel , in a very nice location, definitely suit the younger crowd judging by the residents outside in garden area in beautiful weather. When we approached the main reception desk there was two young ladies , one lady was in conversation with a lift repair man. Unfortunately none of the ladies acknowledged we were there even though they were both looking at us at some point ! Left us to stand there for a couple of minutes instead of at least acknowledging us and being polite. It may be a small thing but manners cost nothing. Once the did speak to us they were very polite and cheerful. The room was as described, very retro with retro furniture and fittings. The beds were super comfy and the room was bright and light. The bathroom was clean and the shower great although it could do with a new shower curtain as the one in our bathroom was badly stained at the bottom. Room was warm and did not require heating onwe stayed in room hut 2 and the main soil pipe from upstairs bathroom runs directly over your bed so be prepared to listen to everything, when the toilet flushes you hear. Everything and It woke us up at all hrs of the morning. The lift was not working when we arrived and our room was up a few flights of stairs which might not suit some people. We didn't eat in hotel as we were wandering around city all day. Overall a very nice hotel if you want the basics and would recommend to the younger traveller.

This was a unique facility. Very trendy, friendly and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I had a great room with a view of the water. It was quiet and very clean.

Nice and unique hotel. Can get a bit noisy as the bar and the area around the hotel is very popular in the summer.

Really quirky hotel around 20 minute walk into central Amsterdam. We stayed as a family of 3. The rooms are a little small, dated and there isn’t any aircon, but they do provide a fan. So the room was quite warm. We had dinner from the downstairs restaurant. My steak was lovely but my husbands vege burger wasn’t that nice. Staff were lovely and helped us with anything we needed.

Very small single room that might not have worked had I had more luggage or stayed longer. Comfortable bed and good bathroom/shower. Delightful location, especially in warm weather as it backs onto a swimming/beach area. Very good restaurant. Wonderful staff. No a/c and pretty pathetic fan.

Cool vibes and make you feel like ‘home’. On the water which is a plus with a park outside:another plus. Rooms very basic and my mattress had definitely seen better days.

There was No AC! The elevator was a very slow small Added accessory to the building stairwell and we were on the 4th floor! The temp was pushing 90 F. One window (with No Screen!) Opened so we slept with Sweat and Mosquitoes. Miserable experience.

Not far from Amsterdam city. Nice view with spacious rooms.

This was a great base for exploring Amsterdam and had everything I needed - in a nice area, clean room and close to transport links. I found the staff to be welcoming and really helpful - I arrived before the check in time and they did everything they could to get me in my room as soon as possible. The hotel is in a really nice area too. The surrounding area has a really relaxed vibe and, as a solo traveller, I never felt unsafe. The Kattenburgerstraat metro station is about 5 minutes walk away, which is 2 stops (3 minutes) from Centraal Station. The room was plenty big enough, was clean and had a great view out on to the swimming canal. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough and will absolutely be back the next time I'm in Amsterdam.

We arrived at hotel at 6:30am from our overnight flight and wanted to leave our luggage secured at the hotel so we didn’t have to keep up with it until the 3:00 pm check in time. They were gracious enough to give us our room then (6:30am) and that was such a blessing to us. It’s a wonderful place to stay while visiting Amsterdam, very short walk into City Center.

We arrived at 13:00 hours to the rides most disinterested man on reception. He started the conversation in a challenging manner and was told by me to change his attitude or remove himself from reception. All the other hotel staff could not do enough

Clean, kitchy 60s style previous naval officers quarters, with individually painted murals in all the rooms, plus other art works on display. Bed was very comfortable, food good. One major issue was the receptionist who was persistently irritable and disagreeable. It was a shame as everyone else was friendly and pleasant.

We loved the location near the maritime museum. The family room was perfect for 4 of us. Really friendly staff.

One member of the front desk staffs mannerism was disrespectful to our inquiries, giving us the impression that he would be better suited in a non public interactive position.

Lovely staff, excellent food - and an adorable cat to boot!!! Room well situated and comfortable. Would come again.

Wenn man vom Rezeptionisten grundlos beim Check In angeschrieen wird und dieser sein Fehlverhalten nicht erkennt, dann weiss man, ln diese sonst so gemütliche Haus setze ich keinen Fuss mehr.

Mooie, leuke locatie en op prima loopafstand van het centrum en station. Station circa 20 min, centrum circa 15 min wandelen. Vriendelijk en hulpvaardig personeel.

I’ve stayed here twice now and it’s perfect. Around 20min walk into the centre and Centraal station. It’s also a quiet area

We opted to stay here because of the proximity to the cruise ship dock. We thought we'd be able to walk to the ship, however, the cobblestone streets made that challenging with our luggage, so we opted to take a taxi. The hotel was quite a distance from the museums in the heart of Amsterdam that we wanted to visit, making for expensive cab rides. In hindsight, I'm not sure this was the best choice for our needs.

Fantastic property and location. Will definitely stay again. Only complaint is how slow the service was in the restaurant. We would have had more drinks if the service had been better. I dont think it was a cultural thing as didnt experience it in other Amsterdam restaurants. Despite this, I highly recommend this place.

Great desk staff who were always friendly. Restaurant was terrible and service was very slow. We rented bikes from the desk so that was a great way to get around.

The rooms are basic but very clean. Staff is excellent. It has the best vibes in the restaurant bar area. Locals and guests combine so well. The restaurant has the best food.

Good location. 1.3 mile from Centraal Station. Had 2 breakfasts and 2 evening meals . Delicious and reasonably priced. Would definately stay here again and recommend to others

I liked the mid-century modern feel. The restaurant was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful.
