I was very happy with my stay. I was here for a run. I had a nice meal which was needed. I was particularly impressed at guest laundry at no extra cost. The staff were friendly and helpful. I asked for a small extension to my check out time and this was not a problem. This was extremely helpful as it enabled me to change after my run. I would definitely stay here again

Fantastic staff at a lovely, clean and comfortable hotel that I have used several times before. Good sized, well equipped gym and free parking make it my go to in Sunderland every time.The only very minor downside is the coffee machine at breakfast, which looks like a bean to cup machine, but delivers awful instant coffee instead!

What a great hotel ideally located for a short walk into the city centre but also on the metro if you wish to go further into the city or onto Newcastle. The staff were all excellent but we particularly enjoyed the happy hour, 5-7pm, when a pint and medium glass of wine are £3.50 each making it by far the cheapest round of drinks we found in the city!

The hotel is excellent, I have stayed there a few times. This was the first time Ive had difficulty parking. I suspect there are cars parked in the car park that were not staying at the hotel.

Our stay at Hilton Garden Inn was great! When we checked in we were greeted by a professional and understanding lady named Esme. My husband is a disabled, so she did her best to provide us with a room that accommodates us. Overall the team at the reception is wonderful and very welcoming. Upon having breakfast we were also greeted nicely. The hotel has an amazing chef who makes beautiful omelettes. Many thanks! The housekeeping team is also very helpful and quick to bring us what we need. The fitness centre is well equipped and spacious. The hotel is very clean and the atmosphere is uplifting. The location of the hotel is great. It is within short walk from a large Tesco and is near the centre. If you want to visit Sunderland and enjoy your stay, I recommend you go to this hotel. Many thanks to the team at Hilton Garden Inn for all their efforts!

Fabulous hotel. Only tricky bit was finding the correct place to park but after that us was all good! Lovely hotel, it was quiet when I stayed, big windows, luxury feel, fab bed, huge TV and lovely bathroom etc. Restaurant looks great (but didn’t have time to try) and the bar with sports screen. Spacious, modern comfort. Would be very happy to return. Value for money. Right at the football ground and very close to the wonderful Sheepfold Stables for food/drink. Vito’s Osteria Italian restaurant was fabulous! Great hotel!

This is my first time staying at any of the Hilton group hotels. The lobby looks just like the pictures and looks good. Sadly everything else went down hill from here. we went into our first room and it stank of cigarette smoke.I explained to the desk staff that the room stank of smoke and they gave us another room. The 2nd room smelled fresh, but there were huge stains on the carpet i would never have taken my shoes off. I went to reception and asked for the manager, the young lad at the desk informed me he was the assistant manager and he accompanied me to the rooms. He apologised and we were moved into a third room. He later came back with a token towards a meal at the hotel. The restaurant food was good, but the seating areas were thread bare with big tears. Staff in the hotel are 100% genuine and helpful. Question would i stay here or in any other Hilton group hotels "NO", if this is anything to go by on the standard of hotels i will avoid them totally even if they were half the price (not even cheap) Very disapointing stay

I have stayed at this hotel a few times and really like it. Although the parking is slightly inconvenient, the closeness makes it alright. My only issue this time was I don’t think the bath tub was cleaned very well. There was quite a bit of dust around which I think was from and already dusty cloth used to clean it. It was washed off so was fine. But slightly disappointed by that to be honest

Room key card failed 8 times between us and card was kept in its own . Quilt on bed very thin so asked for a blanket . Room got missed one day so had to get clean towels from reception . But the room very clean and the staff very friendly .

We stayed overnight whilst working nearby. Downstairs is very well decorated and attractive. The bedroom was a decent size with a good bathroom. The sleep quality not so good. Uncomfortable slightly lumpy bed. Lumpy pillows.

Hotel is great, rooms were clean, I only have one issue, the windows in the room, they cannot be opened so after 1 weeks stay the room is quite musty as no fresh air in the rooms

We arrived at the Hilton Hotel and the check in was fine, we got to our room and started unpacking, the room was really warm so we went to turn down the heating but it wouldn't work, we rang reception and they sent someone out, however the unit was broken so we had to move to another room which wasn't an issue, we got to our next room and unpacked, we had a table booked at a restaurant for 6pm so got ready and went to put our valuable's in the safe but that didn't work, we rang reception and they said they would send someone out to look at it, by this time it was getting on so we had to leave and took everything with us. On our return we noticed that the safe was still broken so we again rang reception, this is the bit I was not impressed with, the safe couldn't be fixed there and then and there solution to this was that we put our valuable's in the staff safe in reception, for the Hilton Hotel Brand I thought this was a totally inadequate response to the situation, so we stayed the weekend without a safe in the room

Really nice hotel friendly staff We arrived at 1.15 check in was 2pm so we had a couple of drinks and decided to have the carvery lunch which was advertised as 12.30-16.30 However when we went at 15.15 was told that they had run out and closed, obviously very disappointed. Was told the bar would serve food from 4pm so had more drinks and waited Bar food ok nothing special but fine. Rooms were nice but no way to open windows to get fresh air. Beds comfy hotel quiet. Nice stay but nothing special average room similar to holiday express.

Fantastic hotel. So clean and tidy. Comfy beds. Giant TV screen. Crabtree and Evelyn products in bathrooms. My only complaint is the duvets were too thin for Autumn and I was cold in the night. Tried to put heating on but didn't work.

Have stayed here 3 times in the last few years. A wonderfully spacious hotel in every respect. Excellent service from staff, especially the Polish lady at the checkin counter and Lynn at breakfast. Free parking at the football stadium opposite the hotel. I love the walk-in shower. Modern and slick. I love the teak wood furniture in the room. The lightings. The pillows. The strong wifi. Etc. Will stay here again in the near future.

The hotel itself is clean and modern, however, the beds were probably the most uncomfortable I have experienced in any hotel. You could hear the mattress springs popping as you turned! The pillows were thin, as was the duvet, and the linen wasn't what I have come to expect in a Hilton Hotel. We stayed for 2 nights and sadly didnt sleep well on either of them. Breakfast is great, plenty of choice. Staff are also friendly and helpful.

The bed was rock hard very uncomfortable could not sleep on it worse sleep i have had in a hotel pillows was non existence had to use bath towels to actually make them ok room was clean and staff was very friendly just the bed was awful

The water in my shower was very cold and when i asked for help it came the next day and even then the maintenance guy was not friendly. He didnt fix the problem so i showered with cold water throughout my stay.

I had booked 2 rooms as my Husband & I were treating our Son & his partner to a weekend away and to see SAFC in action! Unfortunately our Son took very poorly at 3am on the morning we were due to drive to Sunderland - there was no way he could travel or even leave the house! I called Hilton Garden Inn at 7am, just before my Husband & I were setting off on the 5 hour drive, and I spoke to Christopher, Guest Relations Manager who was just wonderful. He knew I was upset & disappointed about our weekend plans being altered due to illness and he cancelled the 2nd room I had booked for my Son free of charge - this was SO appreciated and lessened the stress & upset so much! On arrival at the hotel we were greeted by Christopher as well as Charlotte on Reception and when we checked in we were told we had complimentary breakfast added to our booking for the two nights! Again we were so surprised and extremely appreciative. Our stay overall was fabulous - the room, the view (we asked for a stadium view room), the Karbon Grill restaurant - but mostly the wonderful staff! We could not have been better looked after and will be back for another stay soon - hopefully with our family onboard too!

We stayed as part of watching a woman’s International. The hotel is right next door to the ground, which was great. The staff were lovely very friendly and helpful, although understandably because of large numbers they were busy but they accommodated us as much as they possibly can which was appreciated

It was ok. It took 5 days (of 11) for them to respond to the fact the air conditioning (in a room with no opening windows) was broken and for them to move us rooms. When they did it was much better and gave us some drinks vouchers which was kind. It’s ok for a Hilton- but defo not one of the best.

No complaints on the hotel itself, staff were Freindly, and what I expected. Only real issue which was my error was the location, you need a taxi to get anywhere as other than the stadium which to be fair it’s what it there for, there is nothing else near. Parking pretty straight forward also.

This hotel was a gem, close enough to walk to all the city center amenities, pubs, clubs and shops, and the metro station a stones throw away. We were glad we picked it, and would highly recommend it to friends and family

Reception staff very helpful. An adjoining door to the next room wasn’t locked but they sorted it immediately. Easy to park ( and free). Plenty of spaces but no football match on so that may not be the case if there’s a home game, as the hotel is next to the stadium. A bit of a walk into town but doable. Not too noisy. Shower wasn’t very hot but acceptable.

A nice hotel. Room was clean. Good location. Tea & coffee in the room was very basic and cheap brands. Breakfast was ok. As a vegan options very limited in comparison to other Hilton hotels. No dairy free yogurts, no veggie sausages, unable to have coffee as the machine contains milk. They did have soya, oat & coconut alpro barista milk and some cereals, toast & jam. If breakfast was better the hotel would have got 5 stars from me. Hope they improve it. Staff friendly.

Excellent two night stay. Friendly and professional staff, at reception and in bar. Food and drink very good. Room- spacious, twin bedded, contemporary-clean and fresh, linen,towels and bathroom with large shower all very nice. Parking on site and free for guests.

Staff were really nice. Room covered what was need but a bit chilly. The manager came to help when asked though. Food was AMAZING! Not everything was spot on but on A for effort for the staff who tended to everything. Would go back

What a lovely stay…being able to use the laundry room was an amazing +.Breakfast was really disappointing…orange juices lying about…they all had a bubbly head…tasted awful…no Nutella for waffles…fresh fruit salad tasted fizzy! So probably on it’s way out…waited ages on a cheese&onion egg white omelette…came with the cheese all crispy…left it…slice of toast&butter it was…husbands scrambled egg was really pale he left it…cheap eggs…sausages looked like they had a high content of hotdog in them…dark haired plump chef kept touching his nose…having said this we would return as it’s a lovely hotel& staff are lovely…beds&bedding where clean…seeing fresh flowers&tree plants inside was a nice touch.roll on our next visit

I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Sunderland, fantastic hotel. Very clean throughout and always a pleasant experience. Food is particularly great, especially the choice at breakfast.
