Really taken a down turn the past year or so... This place is a major need of a reno. The furnishings are so old the lamps are old, the sinks are slow, the windows are filthy. And the amazing products I used to have they don't use anymore Malin and Goetz.... Super disappointing

What an absolute treasure! I lucked out in finding this gem as we were traveling through the area. My son and I stayed one night while on a road trip, and loved it so much that we are plotting a trip back to Cedar Falls just so we can stay at the Black Hawk again! The rooms were incredibly spacious, the bed was comfortable and I got a great night’s sleep. The staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, and we thoroughly enjoyed our complimentary drinks from the bar while dining on some takeout in the picturesque lobby. I’d give it 10 stars if I could!

Our experience at this beautiful historic hotel was nothing short of perfect. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the kindest, friendliest, and most helpful staff who truly made us feel at home. When we decided to elope, the hotel graciously allowed us to hold our short and sweet wedding ceremony on the property, making one of the most important days of our lives even more special. The setting was absolutely gorgeous and provided the perfect backdrop for such a meaningful moment. We'll always be grateful for their generosity and hospitality. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and full of historic charm. We also loved that the hotel is dog-friendly, so our pup could be there to celebrate with us—it made the experience even more memorable. If you're looking for a place with stunning architecture, impeccable cleanliness, exceptional service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this hotel is truly a gem. It will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we can't wait to return. Thank you for helping make our wedding day unforgettable!

Gorgeous historic hotel. We only stayed one night so we didn’t get a full feel for the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
