Spent first 4 nights here in the specialised Kabuki Room in the south building and the 2nd 4 nights in a standard room. The Kabuki room, which replicated a theatre stage, was a nice change and provided many a giggle and challenge at times, particularly when trying to find the right light switch to turn off at night. As the Kabuki room was superior we had access to the premium lounge between 7pm-10pm for free drinks and snacks which was nice. Used the laundry room too which was a good bonus (cheap to use too - £2.50 a wash and 50p per 20 minutes for the dryer). Well located in a covered shopping precinct so access to shops and eateries was just outside the door. Female staff were more approachable than the males and seemed to have more English but all were helpful. We used luggage forwarding when staying here which worked very well and it was in our room waiting for us 2 days later in Tokyo. Hotel is comfortable, clean and well maintained.

Fabulous hotel. One of the smaller rooms we've had. But nicely situated just within a shopping mall. Great amenities with a large lounge area and dining space just off the laundry room. Only a short walk to the Gion district and even closer to train links.

Excellent location within walking distance of Nishiki market. Close to multiple dining and shopping options in a highly walkable neighborhood. The hotel has two towers - North and South. Contrary to what’s stated on the hotel website, check-in is in the South tower only. Good selection of amenities in the hotel lobby; nice salon in the 2nd floor, complete with a small smoking room. The room itself is large and comfortable. It appears freshly redesigned with modern touches.

This hotel was great! The staff is very friendly and you are able to check in and out at a kiosk. They provide luggage storage if you arrive early and will have it waiting in your room for you. The bed was very comfortable! We booked a premium room and it came with pajamas, slippers, bubble bath, face masks, and a skin care set - it was all great quality!

The hotel is spoiling, with guests saloon, free beverage, laundry and other things. It is great. On the other hand, rooms are very dusty! We were in two rooms and both were dusty! I got severe elergic reaction accordingly. Same gracery hotel in Tokyo was dissaster, but, Kyoto hotel is great.

I am not really picky and don’t want to leave bad reviews.. but the hotel is dirty. The back of the sofa bed is full of dust. The toilet has a lingering smell of pee. Floor carpet is not vacuumed.

The floors were sticky and they only provided plastic reusable plastic slippers that felt dirty and old. The bath tub was also clogged. The bathroom had a weird layout, where the toilet was separated from the shower and the door won't stay open.

Mycket bra läge vid Kyotos shoppinggator. Det som drar ner upplevelsen var att rummen vi bokade hade heltäckningsmattor som även inkluderade toaletterna. Heltäcknignsmattor inne i ett toalettutrymme är verkligen inte hygieniskt, vilket var tydligt då min matta luktade intorkad urin. Det syntes även tydliga ringar i mattan där urinet torkat in. Hotellet behöver definitivt ta bort heltäcknignsmattorna i toalettutrymmen. Bortsett från det så var hotellet fint med en trevlig personal.

Hotel is in a very convenient location for shopping. Staff were very friendly, loved the extra amenities available down by the front desk - lotions, tea, toiletries. One suggestion is to have better pillows and to provide two pillows/bed. My son also said the mattress was not comfortable for the sofa bed. The elevator bell could also be heard in our room so note to light sleepers!

The gracery hotel was a fine and more westernized Hotel by size standards. It is sound in a good location surrounded by many different stores and is close to everything that you would need in Kyoto. The rooms were very large and the location felt extremely safe. Staff were very helpful and accommodating and help with things like holding onto luggage and checking in. Please note that the check-in is found in the South tower and that if you're staying in the North tower you require your room key card to be able to access it. On the second floor of the North tower, there was also a lounge with free drinks and complimentary toiletries. Given the price we paid as well as the amenities and the generosity of the staff not to mention the great location of this hotel, I would definitely consider staying here again on my next trip to Kyoto. Many thanks from my wife and I!

The staff is in hospitality business and cant do that one thing right. I had the best experience in Japan and all my other stays except this one. A few issues: 1. The booking explicitly says Water, but i got water only on day 1 of my 4 day booking. They said it’s only welcome drink. I then asked, where can i fill my water bottles? They said No. they said please buy water. 2. The cleaning services in 4 days was only done properly on last day and was not done the remaining days. Im a clean person and it was kept the way I left it. I had to explicitly ask for coffee sachet refills. 3. I asked the staff for some salt ( needed it for health reasons as I was alil unwell) and they denied me salt. Bearing in mind, The hotel has a full fledge restaurant and microwave and they couldnt give me a pinch of salt. Will not let this hotel ruin my experience and hospitality Japan has to offer, but definitely not going to stay in this chain of hotels again.

We had a great stay! The hotel’s central location was excellent, perfect base for exploring the city and getting around easily. We loved staying here. The only issue was that we didn’t know we were supposed to book our breakfast ahead of time. We wanted to try the breakfast buffet on our last day. We had been traveling for 2 weeks. We were still willing to pay, yet we still got denied and weren’t allowed to dine for the buffet. Nothing else is open that early, we ended up getting food at the 7-11, but considering we were already there for 4 days, that’s didn’t seem hospitable. Sometimes people don’t know that they want to book a breakfast months in advance, but want the option to have it if we are still willing to pay. We didn’t like that. Overall, it was a pleasant stay but that minor detail alone was off putting.

Central location with restaurants and shopping around the hotel. Walking distance to transportation. Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast buffet was not as extensive as other hotels but high quality foo. Would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it especialy for first-time visitors to Kyoto.
