The room was very cold and damp, water was dripping from the ceiling. breakfast poor. Staff was great. Unfortunately we will not be returning there.

This is a rustic old building and as such so are the rooms. They are super clean, however, amenities are basic so if you are looking for modern with all frills this may not be the place for you. We were in Maria and the views are fabulous. The room did have a strong smell of mould which was quite overpowering at times. One thing, the windows were quite modern and opened out at my waist level, I am 5ft1 so would say small children would need careful supervision in this room (if children are allowed). The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, in particular Adriana was very helpful and accommodating. The location is fabulous right in the old town and not far from the Quinta da Regaleira. Lots of nice restaurants and cafes around. We had a fabulous stay and would like to thank all the staff at Palacio de Sintra for making us feel very welcome.

Great location. We liked that the hotel is a converted traditional home which gives it an authentic feel. It is very basic and the decor is closer to creepy than quaint. Very chilly and damp.

Room and bathroom had mould around windows and on ceiling. No wardrobe or clothes hangers. Staircase hand rail loose and carpets terribly dirty. No bar anymore apparently not for years now. Had i of known this i would not have booked the hotel, no snacks or drinks. Walks much longer to what they say on their booking on Expedia, double the time so i could not walk due to my health. Very disappointing certainly not a 4 star hotel 2-3 in my opinion. Needs refurb/cleaning.
