Staff at Hotel Gerdi where you check in were super friendly and helpful. I wish we had stayed there. The cottage was ok for one night but walls are thin, rooms are tiny, and one bathroom door didn’t lock. It was quiet after 10 pm. The kitchen was a full kitchen if you needed to cook and there was also a washer and dryer. There is nothing near the property itself which is good and bad.

Nice room with a deck, from which we saw the northern lights. Proximity to Jokulsarlon was the biggest factor for us to book there. Nearby guesthouse has restaurant, where we had a nice dinner. Shared bathrooms is the only drawback of this particular property

No power points in the room. The only way that you could charge anything was to unplug the bedside light. That wasn't practical as the ceiling light was as bright as two candles. The only power socket was in the bathroom so if you left your phone in there you couldn't get it back when others were taking a shower. Not well soundproofed. Absurd that you have to drive to another location to get a 4 digit code for the keysafe when they could send it electronically. The kitchen was excellent plus large lounge/ diner.

We had a large family room for 4 (you could easily fit more young children if co-sleeping). Common kitchen had other travelers making breakfast and chatting. (Keep in mind there's no food available at this location.) No problems waiting for the shared shower. Self-checking with code 24/7.

Foi extremamente difícil encontrar. Não recebemos as instruções por e-mail sobre o código ou a localização. O prédio principal, fica a 3 km da hospedagem. Há somente dois banheiros para 6 quartos, cerca de 18 pessoas. Não conseguimos tomar banho por não haver água quente suficiente, nem a noite e nem pela manhã, o que é bem relevante num frio de 3 graus! Foi muito desgastante ficar hospedado nesse lugar.

Way overpriced for the conditions. This place had a non-functional shower (our neighbours also couldn\'t get it to work). I showered myself and my kids by filling a water bottle. Very disappointing after a long day of hiking (there\'s also a hole inside the shower right through the wall to the outside - I guess a vent used to be there and they never replaced it). One of the bathrooms had a toilet that didn\'t flush - I had to flush it with a bucket. The blinds in our room were broken - have to be turned by hand. The bed felt caved in and worn out. If it were 100EUR cheaper, I\'d say fine. But at this price, it needs a major upgrade. I messaged the owner via Expedia app last night and have not heard back. A shame because our first impression was "this place is cozy". For reference, the night before, we stayed at a place almost 100EUR cheaper and had a private, fully renovated bathroom and two rooms with excellent beds and sheets. The full service hotel we stayed at in Vik was also cheaper.

This place should not be open for business. The toilets do not work - disgusting. You have water pressure issues. Some of the bathroom locks were not functioning. Fix your plumbing issues!!! This is the worst night we have had in Iceland - by far. If you can’t provide basic plumbing, you should be shut down. I can’t believe we paid money to stay here. Shame on you.

The people were super nice and check in was easy. The food at the guest house was delicious. The accommodations are a good size and clean. The bathrooms are shared and are very small, water gets everywhere and each person only gets one towel also the shower water temperature is very difficult to adjust. The cost for the room is high given the shared bathrooms, I would not return to the guest house, but I would return to the restaurant.

The room was very small, the bed took up pretty much the whole space, not leaving room to open the suitcases or even just to sit down. There was only one power outlet for a double room, at a somewhat inconvenient position, so we definitely needed our extension cords to be able to recharge both of our phones. Quite overpriced, for just the bed space, to be honest.

It was a little challenging to find the place to check in for the cottage since it's not right next to the cottage itself. The cottage was quiet and had a full kitchen to make your own food or access to the restauant where we checked in.

It is not clear that there’s a shared bathroom, and even worse that it’s shared with another 6 rooms on the second floor where our room was located. It obviously represents also a challenge for we of smells in the house, as the common areas are shared, but again, this is not communicated anywhere. Check in is at a different location, and then they give you a map to go to the actual house where the room is located, which is not entirely clear. Instructions are poor.

The accommodation is located about a 10min drive from Jökulsárlón. So it is really convenient when doing activities on the glaciers. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a kitchen if you need to make food. The nature around the accommodation is next level. With a waterfall at the back of the property.

Für meine Zwecke war das Haus super gelegen. Ich habe mich rund um wohl gefühlt. Das Personal ist hilfsbereit. Mein Flieger hatte fast 4,5 Std Verspätung, eine kurze Email und alles war geregelt und ich konnte direkt zum Haus fahren ohne das ich vorher wo anders hin musste.

We had to go to a different location completely to get info how to enter this guesthouse - not had to waste this time or gas for any of the many other guesthouses we have stayed in - no reason the info couldn't be emailed to us, as others have. This was the smallest of any of the rooms, also, and the most basic of all the guesthouse rooms we have stayed in. It worked for a place to sleep, and there was a kitchen available.

The people were super nice and check in was easy. The food at the guest house was delicious. The accommodations are a good size and clean. The bathrooms are shared and are very small, water gets everywhere and each person only gets one towel also the shower water temperature is very difficult to adjust. The cost for the room is high given the shared bathrooms, I would not return to the guest house, but I would return to the restaurant.

We had a large family room for 4 (you could easily fit more young children if co-sleeping). Common kitchen had other travelers making breakfast and chatting. (Keep in mind there's no food available at this location.) No problems waiting for the shared shower. Self-checking with code 24/7.

The accommodation is located about a 10min drive from Jökulsárlón. So it is really convenient when doing activities on the glaciers. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a kitchen if you need to make food. The nature around the accommodation is next level. With a waterfall at the back of the property.

Staff at Hotel Gerdi where you check in were super friendly and helpful. I wish we had stayed there. The cottage was ok for one night but walls are thin, rooms are tiny, and one bathroom door didn’t lock. It was quiet after 10 pm. The kitchen was a full kitchen if you needed to cook and there was also a washer and dryer. There is nothing near the property itself which is good and bad.

I tried to rent places where we didn’t have to share living spaces, but I must have missed this one. However, everyone staying there were super friendly and there weren’t any problems. It was located in a beautiful place with several waterfalls behind it.

Cheap accomodation near Jökulsarlon. Heating in our room didn't work properly, in one shower was No warm water (thankfully there were several showers) Perfect for a overnight stay while travelling the ring road.

Nice room with a deck, from which we saw the northern lights. Proximity to Jokulsarlon was the biggest factor for us to book there. Nearby guesthouse has restaurant, where we had a nice dinner. Shared bathrooms is the only drawback of this particular property

It was a little challenging to find the place to check in for the cottage since it's not right next to the cottage itself. The cottage was quiet and had a full kitchen to make your own food or access to the restauant where we checked in.

Chambre d’hôte un peu triste et isolée. Difficile d’être discret avec les portes des sdb qui grincent. La douche d’une des sdb ne délivre qu’un filet d’eau, pas facile pour se laver… Toutefois, la salle commune est bien équipée pour cuisiner et possède même une télé (pas essayée)

The room was ok with all the necessary items but no hangers or anywhere you can hang the clothes. It is better to fix the shower as 1: water overflows as I don’t think the floor is sloped 2; the current shower head in the shower room opposite room 58, could really hurt someone when you not carefully holding it, the metal cracks is very dangerous.

The room unfortunately had bed bugs. It was our first night in Iceland and thankfully we were only 1 night at the property. In addition 1 of 2 heaters in the living room was not working and so it was colder than it needed to be. Communication with the host was poor - we reached out a number of times on the bed bug issue but got no response. Am just glad that the stay was only one night and didn’t ruin the rest of our vacation
