Champagne at arrival! Quick check-in and wonderful front desk team. Golf cart shuttle to the Tennessee Theatre was a really nice touch. Very nice room with a super comfy bed with lots of pillows. Highly recommended.

Great centrally located hotel to UT. Parking a hassle with $40 day valet. Free shuttles within 3 mile radius. Food is excellent. Staff very friendly. Room spacious clean and great amenities

The Tennessean is a very nice hotel. Positives are the employees, bars and restaurants, decor, fitness center and complimentary shuttle. Negatives include the scant shower amenities (trifle amounts of shampoo and soap) and the wall thickness-I could hear TV next door all night.

The hotel is very nice and clean. Feels modern and updated. The check-in/check-out was fast and pleasant. They charged my Tesla overnight which was convenient. Will stay again.

We love this hotel. It has several restaurants. The rooms are really nice and everything is clean. The parking can be tough because you have to valet, so if you leave anything in your car, you have to wait for them to go get it. Other than that, we think it is perfection, and we have stayed here multiple times and will continue to. Just an FYI ... Parking is $35 per night and taxes were around $30 per night. .

Great facility with some minor issues. Some to include hot water running out no towels or water for two days in gym etc.

Central to a lot of activities, easy to get around, and the shuttle to and from the hotel is amazing. Elizabeth, and her staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is all that you could imagine. Will never stay elsewhere when back in Knoxville.

All of the staff were pleasant and patient. The bar restaurant was very good. The valet service for drop offs and pick ups in a 3-mile radius was so convenient and the valets were friendly and accommodating. 5 stars can’t wait to come back!

Staff is A1! Nice room , restaurants are walkable but they offer free shuttle within 3.5 miles. They have nice bar, Starbucks etc

Overall the stay was great. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. The room was beautiful and I had a wonderful view. I ordered room service and it was quick and delicious. My only complaints are the bed was hard and I had a hard time getting to sleep and was sore in the morning. The other problem was when I asked to have my room serviced the trash wasn’t emptied, no water was left, coffee cups were left dirty on the bathroom sink and the bed was made with the same sheets and pillowcases and not fresh bedding. The floor wasn’t vacuumed. They did send someone up with water and to empty the trash when I called down. I stayed four nights and the room was only serviced the one time and I had to ask for clean towels, sheets and pillowcases were never changed. These things didn’t ruin my stay but it is something that needs to be addressed because everything else about the hotel is so nice. I would stay again and just hope that these had been addressed by the next time.

The room smelled like smoke and felt very dated.

Great service and beautiful hotel and rooms. Views from the corner room were fantastic...but the room gets a lot of sun and can get hot. The only observation for improvement was that the hallway carpet leading from our room on the 2nd floor (room 4) to the restaurant is very worn and needs to be replaced.

Everything was great…except housekeeping. Left dirty glasses in the room, didn’t replenish coffee, didn’t replace complimentary water…after leaving a nice tip on day 1.

Great, helpful staff. Free shuttle around (just tips for drivers). My only complaint, furniture kind of beat up in the rooms, some mold in the shower. (a pet peeve of mine)

Sadly we have been staying here for years and we used to love it. On this stay our room seemed dated and dirty. The rugs were worn and tile wasn’t very clean, they no longer provide

Positives-I loved this hotel. It felt luxe with nice linens and an updated bathroom. Loved the cleanliness and check-in staff/valet. Room for improvement: There is a strong deodorizer smell that was a turnoff. I’m not sure if it has old carpet, but it looks and feels like it needs to be updated.

I think I was expecting more from the room, just didnt seem welcoming and was plain, also you should know there is no microwave. The staff was outstanding and the bar was great. Location was great. Also its 40 a day to park.

One area for improvement was the WIFI. I was not able to get on line even after I spoke to the IT team. Really left me in the dark as far as work went. Also I was in a special needs room, which I don't need nor did I request it. I didn't like that room as much.

Beautiful hotel. At night, there were sounds of sirens-i think it may be located near a fire department or emergency service of some sort but other than the occasional sounds of sirens it was great. Very comfy beds and great shower

3rd time staying here. We always get the panoramic suite which is big and comfortable. The road noise is not desirable but don’t know how that can be fixed without spending a fortune on sound proof windows. It’s worth it in my opinion to get them Tennessean.

Amazing hotel. Felt very upscale, the decor in the room was excellent, very spacious room and bathroom, clean, and nice perks. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. And the hotel was located near everything.

The room was cold. Heat did not work.

Would have been a 5star if the water in the beautiful shower was hot and had pressure use both shower heads no not much pressure and water was only warm turned all the way on hot.

I have been making regular trips to Knoxville staying at the Downtown Marriott and decided to change things up and stay at the adjacent Tennessean and sorely regretted my choice. The hotel only allows valet parking and after a meal out we were woken by calls and texts around 10:00 letting us know there had been an issue with the truck. The valet had managed to grind the rear passenger door along the corner of a concrete wall as he put it on charge. On asking the Night Manager how this was possible when the vehicle has 360 degree proximity sensing and visual and audio warnings I was told that they were probably not working at the time. BS. Picking the issue up with the Hotel Manager next morning they admitted liability and offered only to wave the two night $60 valet fee as a sign of good faith. I tend to take an approach of 'accidents happen' generally but when you are looking at nearly $3K of needed bodywork, multiple days lost driving a rare vehicle up to a body shop in another state, no offered compensation or comping of your bill and having to chase their insurance agent down for nearly 3 weeks to get a claim going this amounts to some of the most dismissive customer service I have ever experienced. I left making these comments a few months to see if they would recover the situation, even laying out my dissatisfaction to the HQ team. They have not done anything to improve their approach. I am still dealing with the truck repair while the hotel happily forgets all about it

They gave my room away for the first night of my stay even after I was charged for it!! They claimed they didn’t have my reservation! All they could offer was an apology and send me on my way to find another hotel. Ended up at the Hyatt Place; they were so very nice and welcoming! Felt bad for us, matched the hotels.com price AND gave us 2 free drink coupons! We returned to the Tennessean the following evening and everything was better although there were still NO concessions made for their error in overbooking and giving my room away. We were there for a wedding and everyone else in the family stayed there the entire time.

FLAWLESS. This is an exquisite property. My husband and I stayed here years ago, and I made a stop here traveling cross-country (despite Nashville being a better stop for the night) because of this hotel. The Tennessean is the primer for how a hotel should look, run, and be maintained. There is thought in every detail, every nook of this property - fresh flowers, thoughtful amenities, impeccable staff. The rooms are spacious, clean, and beautiful. My only regret is being too tired to order room service, which I'm sure would have also been fantastic. I will always land here when in Tennessee - it's the gold standard.

At the checkin, Edwin was a Superstar! Great representative of a 5 star hotel. Had an issue with the restaurant/ bar and Beverage Mgr personally intervened and resolved the issue. My wife and me LOVE staying here... Service is KING!

This is our second stay at this property. The staff is just so good. They welcome you by name as you walk through the door thanks to the ever friendly valet attendants. They point you to all you need to know about the property and just make you feel special. As you leave for dinner, there is a have a nice evening from the front desk. When you return, you are greeted again. I also love, love, love the idea of the golf cart shuttle. How convenient.

Love this place as a home base while in Knoxville for work - incredible team,wonderful rooms and great proximity to everything - yet tucked away

beautiful property. 6 & 7 floors are residential. building is connected to Marriot. walking distance to Market Square. Worlds Fair is literally across the street. parking fee of 30/day and valet service only. a golf cart is provided for use within a 3mile radius. plus, the staff are friendly and accommodating. I’d stay here again.

The free shuttle service for anything within 3 miles of the hotel was perfect. Wagoneer was very nice, it was essentially a free Uber black for your whole stay! Amazing friendly drivers too. The dining room for breakfast and dinner was amazing. Great hotel for UT visits! Will be staying here again!

Josh and Lissa at the hotel's fabulous lounge on the 2nd floor are amazing! They took such good care of us and made us feel like family, even though we were only there 1 night. This level of guest service is what sets luxury hotels apart from the rest. Our room was beautiful, clean, and well appointed. Absolutely love this hotel and its exceptional staff! Thank you for a perfect 5-star stay!

This hotel is absolutely beautiful! The bathroom was very spacious as well as our room. The staff was very attentive and the bar/restaurant had the best food and cocktails. I would put it on our list for one of the top hotels we have been to, and we travel frequently. The next time we are in Knoxville, this will definitely be our go to!

Hotel itself was very nice and friendly, shower had grout and seemingly mold flakes build up at my feet. The restaurant at the lobby level was a terrible experience, food took an hour to arrive and both dishes ordered were practically inedible. “Crispy” wings were more like charcoal and crab dip was more greasy cheese with two lumps of meat. Fried okra would be better used as fertilizer. Food cost 80$ but ended up having to order dominoes which was fast and delicious. Overall not hotels fault but accountability is shared inside the building

Spent 2 nights at the Tennessean. This is our 2nd time staying in the hotel. We love the area and the space offered. The bar and restaurants are great with a large fireplace and billiard room. I wish I brought my own pillows however, they just aren't "home pillows".
