The Ivey's Hotel

Rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was very attentive. They take great care to tidy up the littlest of things while we out. The bar was fun and easily accessible from our room. The hotel is in the thick of Charlotte and makes it easy to get to anything downtown.

This was my 9 year anniversary and my wife and i couldnt enjoy our supposed dinner, show, and cocktail filled night due to having to climb stairs up and down all evening. So she was not interested in drinks at all. At this price point there is no excuse.

The hotel itself is very elegant. Rooms are nicely appointed. Restaurant and private library lounge are great. My only issues are the elevator does not work, so you have to lug suitcases upstairs, Valet is slow to get vehicle (took 25 minutes) and when i requested a noon check out instead of 11, they would not grant.

Broken elevator and staff not apologetic nor were we given prior notice that this was a problem and it clearly was not a single day issue

Great hotel and I always stay there when I go to Charlotte. The rooms are unique and quiet. The room service breakfast is affordable, timely and really really good. The restaurant while having a minimal menu is is a nice quiet place to go for a beer and an appetizer. The library lounge is always a favorite for me and my colleagues to hang out. The fitness center is adequate and stocked with water, apples and protein bars. Overall the hotel is 5 star. Only issues is downtown Charlotte is a little sketchy especially after 6pm and you have to be aware of your surroundings always when visiting….

I booked 3 double Queen bed rooms at The Ivey approximately two months before our arrival date, traveling to Charlotte for the first time to celebrate our nephew’s UNCC graduation. I chose to book at the Ivey because the restaurant/lounge had good reviews. The day before our arrival I received a phone call from the hotel informing me that both the restaurant and the lounge were closed to guests, booked out for both nights of our stay. I recognize that this is ideal for The Ivey but it left our party without a place to gather for a cocktail or a nightcap, which negatively impacted our time in Charlotte, NC.

Beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. We enjoyed the restaurant and the in-room espresso machine. The gym is large with very nice equipment. We will be back!

Awesome super clean one elevator not working Receptionists under staffed

The two things I didn’t like were: The access to the second floor. There is only one elevator to get to the second floor, which takes so long to use. So basically there is only stair access to the second floor; and the prices for the mini bar are super expensive. $9 for a chocolate candy blew my mind.

Only negative is the parking valet is $45 a night. This place is incredible!

I came in town on business and I wanted to experience the city since it was my 1st time to North Carolina. Being a newly wed I wanted to stay in a hotel that had a cultural, unique and romantic feel and I wasn’t disappointed at all. Felt like we were in Paris and transported in time. And myhusband and I were happy to find we were in the heart of Uptown (downtown) Charlotte. Right across the street from the Performing Arts center, restaurants and food trucks just steps away and the hotel was stunning. Due to the need to head to my business event early they were able to give me an early check in and departure which made things much easier for us. Everyone in the staff was super helpful and pleasant. I’d love to come back.

The room was absolutely beautiful. The hotel was clean, friendly and staff were nice. The room was just like the photo and spacious. My only warning would be that the air freshener in the room was so strong. I’m sensitive to smells, so this left me with a migraine not helped by the loud music heard from a hotel event until midnight on a Sunday night. Would have preferred a more quiet/relaxing setting for our anniversary night, however overall we were very pleased with the accommodations.

Stains on the couch. Pollen on the outdoor furniture. iPad phone not working. No microwave.

Beautiful property and great rooms with nice decor. Front desk provided amazing service. Very nice and friendly! The only downside was the fact that there was no housekeeping and no one could say why we didn't get it. Would have been nice to come to a clean room after a long day out. Besides that would definitely recommend folks to stay at this unique hotel.

I believe they weee having trouble with the ac room was very warm. Found hair ties and hair clips on side of bed from previous tenants

The friendly and professional staff, the cleanliness was above all I have seen in a hotel, the extra comforts in the room from high quality products to a fully stocked food and mini bar, Bose speakers, music in the room, high end linens and more - it definitely felt like a luxury hotel experience. Walking distance to museums and great restaurants. Great gym and bar, free wine at HH, champagne waiting in our room. If we're ever in Charlotte again, we will definitely stay here.

This was the nicest high-end hotel we have ever stayed at. Very clean, up to date, extremely helpful and courteous staff.

Absolutely beautiful and well appointed rooms. Comfy bed and decor really gives you a fine and elegant feel to your stay. I highly recommend this boutique experience. Sophia’s restaurant was also the perfect ambience and decor to match.

Instagram friendly, yes, but ultimately a 3 dressed up as a 9. Low quality kitschy everything, below average service, no amenities, next to loud nightclubs (thin windows). Overall about 2x over-priced. Not the worst hotel by any stretch but *terrible* value for your dollar.

It would be nice not to be booked in a room near the stairs. I could hear the conversation outside my room as they took pictures during my night of rest

Bed was stiff but very nice bedding. Lights in bathroom were a little dim. Shower was great. Recommend putting hand held steamers in rooms along with irons. No price list for wet bar.

High end amenities, linens and toiletries are wonderful, Nespresso coffee.

everything about the property was good, if not great in some areas but the room was unbearable due to the noise coming from the toilet. the room was borderline unsleepable. my spouse came to town and got a room at another hotel because she was unable to sleep with the noise.

Spotlessly clean - gorgeous, thoughtfully appointed, luxurious bathroom - beautifully furnished & styled room. Walking down the hallway the opulence is fabulous. Room was definitely superior than a cookie cutter hotel, but for the price I had expected something larger, with a view. Instead we had an interior facing window looking into the rather underwhelming “atrium” which did not have any of the same charm or character as the rest of the hotel - a huge space with a lot of missed potential, but maybe there’s more to the space than I am aware of? Full disclosure I booked the atrium facing room as it was a lower price - I was not expecting a street view, just a more interesting view. Simply a matter of expectations & reality not in sync. However Sophia’s Lounge & the Library Bar were absolutely wonderful & helped us forget. Staff all over the hotel were polite & accommodating. Valet service a life saver.

I would love to give this property five stars as tge interior was beautiful. However, my city view was an alleyway. And the fire alarm went off twice in 12 hours. Once being at 1:07am!!!

Wonderful hotel! If you want to have the comforts and experience of luxury, The Ivey is that place! From the wonderful receptionist that checked me in (and even helped me when I locked myself out of the room), the staff who brought food for my in room dining, and all the options of the mini bar and comfy bed, I can’t recommend this hotel enough. I was there on a work trip, but I plan on returning the next time I’m in Charlotte regardless of the occasion.

Staff: Amazing, Oliver & the crew were very welcoming during the entire stay, even the Valet guys were cool! The incorrect charges on my account caused to me to rate the review so low. I feel bad because the staff, of course, the representatives doing all the work went above & beyond. In Room Dining is a must ! Avo toast was Delicious! *Guest services has left a sour taste in my mouth, check and double check your credit card. I had 2 charges that I had to dispute. One for an entire night stay and the other was a double charge for incidentals that I already paid. It's been a nightmare but I'm going to collect my $300.00. Not new to luxury hotel tactics. They assumed you won't review billing and it's a must when I'm spending my coins.

Cute, Clean, and Friendly—but Lacking in Some Key Areas I stayed at Hotel Ivey recently and overall, the property was cute, clean, and in a great location. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—which I truly appreciated. However, there were a few drawbacks worth noting: • On our first night, I tried contacting guest services multiple times over a 30-minute period with no luck. I was traveling with my daughter and needed an extra blanket, and it was frustrating not being able to get timely assistance. • The main elevator was out of service during our stay. Unfortunately, the hotel staff wasn’t very accommodating in offering access to the resident elevator—even though I clearly had a stroller and a baby in tow. Thankfully, a kind security guard allowed us access, but it would’ve made a big difference if hotel management had extended that courtesy themselves. • While the hotel has a lounge, it doesn’t open until after 5 PM. Since this was partly a work trip, I had to head across the street to Capital Grille to get lunch and a quiet space to work during the day. A daytime option on-site would have been much more convenient. • Lastly, there’s no on-site sundry or convenience store. Outside of the minibar in the room, there was nowhere to grab basic items or snacks, which made things a bit inconvenient. In short: great staff and aesthetic, but a few missing touches made the stay less smooth than it could’ve been—especially for families or business travelers.

The service was phenomenal! They truly made sure my stay was comfortable and treated me like family. Grayson knows your name and goes above and beyond to make your stay great! Eliot & Alex were super kind valet employees, best I've experienced.

Should have been a perfect five star experience based on the quality of the room. But poor checkin experience - made to wait 45 minutes (were told ten minutes) after 4pm arrival, with poor communication, and required multiple requests before eventually getting key. Asked to talk to manager about it and was promised next day contact. Nothing. Asked again at checkout and was again promised next day contact. Nothing. That is totally unacceptable customer service for two star hotel, never mind five star priced hotel

The hotel was excellent! The hotel is lovely, and so are the rooms. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathrooms were large and updated. There were numerous extras, like a small bottle of Prosecco in your room and water bottles by your table. The person who checked us in was very friendly and had numerous suggestions for things to do in the area, as well as a great casual restaurant for dinner. I would highly recommend the hotel. The only negative is that numerous homeless people in the area approach you during the evening and ask for money. They are not dangerous or aggressive, but it's different if you're not used to them.

From the moment we checked in until the time we checked out every interaction we had with the staff was impeccable. The Ivey’s is definitely our favorite Charlotte hotel! They have something extra special going on! Bravo!

This is a beautiful property and the rooms are decorated nicely. We were here for a two day cheerleading competition at the convention center. There are several restaurants close by. We requested to extend our stay an additional day in the current room we had and was informed by the front desk it was granted. Unfortunately, it was not put in correctly and we were asked to move to a smaller room with fewer beds. As you can imagine sleeping on couch cushions on the floor is not ideal for most. We improvised, and made it work for our 8 year old. Yes we could have found another hotel but the issues was having the extra time to move everything before it was competition time. The gentleman working the front desk area was very helpful with his attempt to keep us in the larger room. He called several guest and asked if they would be willing to take a different room. We truly appreciate his help in trying to correct the issue.

This boutique hotel is nicely elevated BUT, be aware of the thumping, pulsating base music that literally gets in your soul every night from the nightclub directly across the street! There was another couple checking out that complained of the very same thing and white noise and ear plugs didn’t help! It’s a shame—this would be a 10/10 otherwise. Do not expect a good night’s sleep!

Central location and safe.

This property is just beautiful. Thoughtful and artistic decor. Perfect location for exploring Charlotte. Within walking distance of restaurants, bars, museums, neighborhoods.

Beautiful property with attentive staff and a nice bar. Uptown is fun but very loud at night with a very loud night club across the street. Many homeless mentally ill folks surround the block and urinating on the sidewalks leaving a stench.

Loved that we were in the heart of the city with everything you could walk to. Loved the suite, beautiful! The food items and the drinks were too costly. Bag of chips, toffee, and some drinks came to $234. Ask for the price list before you eat or drink the items in the room.

This is an amazing hotel! The room was beautiful, with lots of little extra touches, like an exfoliator in the shower and several nice bath items. We loved the library bar and the restaurant. All of the staff were so friendly and they seemed to really enjoy helping. I'll definitely stay again.

The hotel is quite charming. The staff are all very friendly. the happy hour is fun. The breakfast menu was not huge but what we ordered was very good. I definitely recommend the hotel.

The property is in a good location close to the Spectrum Center and restaurants. Some of the staff is upbeat, others just mediocre. The two things we didn’t like were the elevator was broken and we had to get our own car from the garage. This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel and there was zero attempt by the staff member to have someone get our car. We were told where the garage was and had to spend over 10 minutes getting it out, so basically we paid for valet parking and we were the valet. The cocktails at Sophia’s weren’t great but the bartender was nice. Ordering room service adds outrageous fees so beware. Nice hotel, probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Tv don’t work at all and iPad didnt work for room service so weren’t able to get breakfast in our room like we wanted

I feel bad as I had recommended this hotel to my three Italian colleagues who traveled with me. I had previously been to The Ivey's Hotel pre-COVID and they were disappointed that there was no sparkling water and the night we planned to go to the bar it was closed for a private party (I really think the hotel / expedia should have provided us advance notice that the on-site pub was closed for private party during our stay). They also thought the breakfast options were very limited and went to Starbucks for breakfast the next morning. Far less money and they enjoyed it better. The location was good but my sheets were worn so thin that there was a split in the fitted sheet on my bed. Forgot my gym shoes so I did not get to try it out.
