We stayed here when we visited Rome. It's a little outside of the city, but it's much more affordable and there's easy transportation from the hotel into Rome. The Metro is about a 15-20 min walk, and there are a few bus lines across the street from the hotel. Breakfast was included in our rate and it was excellent - lots of options and everything was delicious. Part of the reason we picked the hotel was for the pool, so we were really disappointed to find it still had a winter cover on when we arrived in late April. The pool area was nice and the weather was quite warm, so we would have definitely used the pool. In fact we sat outside near it most nights. The staff was very friendly. We really enjoyed it here and would definitely stay again.

Location: If you're traveling to Rome to see the sights and want to be in the heart of it, this is not the hotel as it is a 15 minute walk to the closest metro; when you will be putting in many miles on foot exploring and sightseeing, this may not be ideal (for reference, I average 10 miles of walking a day in Rome). I stayed in this hotel because my son was attending soccer training and this was the closest hotel to those facilities. Staff: The staff is wonderful - front desk and bar, oh so friendly and helpful. Amenities/Hotel Itself: The bar is limited, so do not expect much variety in terms of spirits (Lagavulin, Chivas and Jack Daniels are your whisky selections). Note, the bar is not open on Sunday (or at least this past Sunday 3/17). The photos do make the hotel appear much nicer than it is; 4 star rating is generous (probably a 3 star category in the US) Rooms: I had a deluxe executive room, king bed. It was very spacious especially in comparison to the generally compact size of European hotels. The bathroom was also spacious. Given the size of the bathroom, however, I wish more space was dedicated to the shower itself as it is very narrow and small. I am not a large or tall woman, however, my elbow smacked the glass shelf almost daily. I brought home a bonus souvenir from Rome, that of a nice bruise! A review mentioning the smell of cleanser in the rooms, yes, it is strong and not pleasant. I noticed it in the lobby as well though slightly more tolerable.

Staff was friendly and the evening bar tender was one of the most empathetic and hospitable hotel staff ever encountered. Only drawback of this hotel is that by later SEPT early OCT air con is disabled in the rooms ; otherwise great value and ideal free - secured parking for a busy city .

Shower is extremely small. Room is small. Cleaning staff took a key from our room while we left for 1 night we returned the other key was deactivated. Do not buy the breakfast! It is overpriced for very limited choices. 12 euros each person for nothing more than a standard continental breakfast. Poor area is nice, some seats are in need of repair. Lobby is clean, the male bartender is great. Says under 2 miles from Saint Peter’s but it is actually 40 mins away and 20 min walk from restaurants be prepared to walk long distances or take buses

Nice hotel. Very quiet area. Best part is there’s a bus stop directly in front of hotel making a cheap ride to the main tourist sites in Rome! That’s what we liked best. Secondly, we found some great restaurants walking distance away. Lobby isn’t the greatest looking and neither is the pool area but it is a cozy small hotel that’s pretty clean and away from the huge crowds of city center Roma. Yes I might stay there again if I had to. I paid $450 for 2 nights which I think is way more than it’s worth. I’d say it’s worth about $120/night. Breakfast wasn’t great. Juice they served was about the worst I’ve ever had in my 30 years of traveling the world! It was abismal to say the least. Coffee comes from a machine and was so so. Choose of eggs, bean, fruit, cold cuts and pastries were mediocre at best and something I would never purposely purchase again in the future. In fact, I wish I had not pre purchased the breakfast l. The shower area is very small….unusually tight. The shower soap is watered down and not worthy the price paid for the room. Overall we were comfortable there and after the first night it got quite cozy. We took the SIT bus in from the airport for very cheap, about 30 euro for all three of us. The bus dropped us off about a mile away from the hotel. The walk there is safe but we were approached but a beggar for money on the way walking with our bags. That wasn’t reassuring. Walking from the SIT bus stop the sidewalk was ultra narrow!!! Watch out for oncoming.

The hotel is really clean. The staff is very helpful. We had an issue with the television in our room and they had someone come in and fix it. The breakfast options were wonderful! The pool is very clean and the outdoor patio area is really beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

Kan wel een update gebruiken. We hadden speciaal met zwembad geboekt maar dat was nog niet in gebruik! Stond niet aangegeven Openbaar vervoer een drama om te komen. Hele smalle stoep naast de rijbaan. Vooral in donker erg gevaarlijk. Ontbijt was wel echt prima!

Room staff good, Bit of a hike without a car. Usually 25 euros yo main shops. Bus ran across the street every 10 minutes to downtown area. Id stay again. Very nice pool and area.

The staff were very helpful and friendly but my room stank from day 1 till I left on the 4th day. I aske d for my room to be changed but they did not have an alternative to move me to. I also left my book in my room when i checked out. I went back to ask for it and was told the cleaner never checked a book in. There's a nice restaurant Arturo just around the corber from the hoel

Other peoples hair all over our room. Dirty floors broken shower doors unable to keep the water inside the shower. Dirty and old faucets unpleasant odor in the room. Broken refrigerator and TV that wouldn’t turn off unless unplugged.

Stayed here for 3 nights lovely property with fantastic staff. The pool area is gorgeous and well maintained very soothing after a long day in Rome. Originally booked a ground floor room but these are very dark. Requested another room and staff were happy to upgrade for a small fee. Only downside is none of the rooms have balconies but apar from that the room was clean with great facilities

This was an excellent choice. The bedroom was clean, staff was friendly and accommodating. Allowed us an early check in and had the crib we requested ready to go in the room. The rooms are big for Rome standard. The only downsize was not as walkable. The closest main road with shops it’s a 10-15 min walk. However it was worth to stay at this great facility. Very safe.

On the plus side the area is green , suburbia like but far from metro station. The room itself was small but the disappointing part was bathroom door did not close properly was rubbing against the floor and the drains were slow to empty sink and shower. The sink faucet was finicky and the hose air dryer would cut off every 10 secs or so. Building is rather new and well maintained otherwise, but I would say this was not a 4* experience.
On the plus side the area is green , suburbia like but far from metro station. The room itself was small but the disappointing part was bathroom door did not close properly was rubbing against the floor and the drains were slow to empty sink and shower. The sink faucet was finicky and the hose air dryer would cut off every 10 secs or so. Building is rather new and well maintained otherwise, but I would say this was not a 4* experience.

Nice hotel. Very quiet area. Best part is there’s a bus stop directly in front of hotel making a cheap ride to the main tourist sites in Rome! That’s what we liked best. Secondly, we found some great restaurants walking distance away. Lobby isn’t the greatest looking and neither is the pool area but it is a cozy small hotel that’s pretty clean and away from the huge crowds of city center Roma. Yes I might stay there again if I had to. I paid $450 for 2 nights which I think is way more than it’s worth. I’d say it’s worth about $120/night. Breakfast wasn’t great. Juice they served was about the worst I’ve ever had in my 30 years of traveling the world! It was abismal to say the least. Coffee comes from a machine and was so so. Choose of eggs, bean, fruit, cold cuts and pastries were mediocre at best and something I would never purposely purchase again in the future. In fact, I wish I had not pre purchased the breakfast l. The shower area is very small….unusually tight. The shower soap is watered down and not worthy the price paid for the room. Overall we were comfortable there and after the first night it got quite cozy. We took the SIT bus in from the airport for very cheap, about 30 euro for all three of us. The bus dropped us off about a mile away from the hotel. The walk there is safe but we were approached but a beggar for money on the way walking with our bags. That wasn’t reassuring. Walking from the SIT bus stop the sidewalk was ultra narrow!!! Watch out for oncoming.

Everything was nice .. staff is friendly, kind and accommodating. Room was clean and bar and food was a nice plus. We did not make any arrangements to get to the sea port and the gentleman saved us at least $75 getting us a private ride with another group.

The staff was friendly. Housekeeping did a really nice job cleaning the room each day. The manager Luca was so nice and especially helpful, providing detailed info of how to use public transportation to sites in the city. His drawing on a map was particularly useful for me!

The staff at Occidental Aurelia are fantastic! Marie Christina went above and beyond by helping me deal with an airline issue, arranged for taxi service to and from the airport, and was able to communicate with me( I don’t speak Italian) in English and Spanish with other members of our party. She was pleasant, kind and extremely helpful!

The Occidental Aurelia location is close to the metro station of Cornelia ( walk 15 mins. Or 3 bus stops) Contemporary and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good.The lady named May at the front deck gave us amazing customer service. Yes, after we had arrived and the room had a few issues ( phone and television was not working, toilets were not flushing and water was running continually).But after the maintenance guy named Joseph's work everything went back to normal. Our stay was in the middle of January and the heat in the room was great and the price was reasonable. We had a very nice stay. Thank you.

Location: If you're traveling to Rome to see the sights and want to be in the heart of it, this is not the hotel as it is a 15 minute walk to the closest metro; when you will be putting in many miles on foot exploring and sightseeing, this may not be ideal (for reference, I average 10 miles of walking a day in Rome). I stayed in this hotel because my son was attending soccer training and this was the closest hotel to those facilities. Staff: The staff is wonderful - front desk and bar, oh so friendly and helpful. Amenities/Hotel Itself: The bar is limited, so do not expect much variety in terms of spirits (Lagavulin, Chivas and Jack Daniels are your whisky selections). Note, the bar is not open on Sunday (or at least this past Sunday 3/17). The photos do make the hotel appear much nicer than it is; 4 star rating is generous (probably a 3 star category in the US) Rooms: I had a deluxe executive room, king bed. It was very spacious especially in comparison to the generally compact size of European hotels. The bathroom was also spacious. Given the size of the bathroom, however, I wish more space was dedicated to the shower itself as it is very narrow and small. The staff was great! My only hesitation is the location. There seems to be only one restaurant in walking distance and it doesnt open until 7. The hotel makes delicious pizza but didnt want to eat that everyday. It is on a bus route but we were afraid of getting lost so chose ta is instead.

This was an excellent choice. The bedroom was clean, staff was friendly and accommodating. Allowed us an early check in and had the crib we requested ready to go in the room. The rooms are big for Rome standard. The only downsize was not as walkable. The closest main road with shops it’s a 10-15 min walk. However it was worth to stay at this great facility. Very safe.

Clean and quite Hotel near city Center. Bus stop right infront og the Hotel. Bus 98 or 881 tok about 20 minutts to the historical Center. Vatican was on the way. To have a quite hideaway with a pool in some hot summerdsy’s were perfect. The Employee was helpful and frendly. Both reseption an the bartender took care of us by the pool. Recomend the Hotel if you do not need to live inside the city Center.

While being further outside the city than I hoped and not in a “nice” area as I would like, it was still a very pleasant experience. The staff was very welcoming and went out of their way to make sure we got what we need. The room was clean and the hotel was nice. I would recommend, if you’re okay with Metroing or using a taxi to get to the city. The area also felt safe after spending some time there.

Shower is extremely small. Room is small. Cleaning staff took a key from our room while we left for 1 night we returned the other key was deactivated. Do not buy the breakfast! It is overpriced for very limited choices. 12 euros each person for nothing more than a standard continental breakfast. Poor area is nice, some seats are in need of repair. Hemos ido con 3 niños entre 5 y 10 años y la experiencia ha sido muy buena. Todo el personal muy amable, la habitación familiar espectacular. Una sorpresa muy grata fue encontrarnos con dos habitaciones conectadas, no nos lo esperábamos. Que las TV tengan conexión Directa ha sido un puntazo. El desayuno variado y rico. Piscina en Roma en pleno Julio nos ha dado la vida. Las conexiones desde el hotel mucho mejores de lo que parece en un principio tanto en bus como en metro. Si volvemos a Roma, repetiremos.

Nice hotel. Very quiet area. Best part is there’s a bus stop directly in front of hotel making a cheap ride to the main tourist sites in Rome! That’s what we liked best. Secondly, we found some great restaurants walking distance away. Lobby isn’t the greatest looking and neither is the pool area but it is a cozy small hotel that’s pretty clean and away from the huge crowds of city center Roma. Yes I might stay there again if I had to. I paid $450 for 2 nights which I think is way more than it’s worth. I’d say it’s worth about $120/night. Breakfast wasn’t great. Juice they served was about the worst I’ve ever had in my 30 years of traveling the world! It was abismal to say the least. Coffee comes from a machine and was so so. The hotel is really clean. The staff is very helpful. We had an issue with the television in our room and they had someone come in and fix it. The breakfast options were wonderful! The pool is very clean and the outdoor patio area is really beautiful. I would definitely stay here again.

In retrospect staying closer to city center/ historical sites would have saved quite a bit in cab/uber fare. Also limited nearby places to dine. Stayed here because Princess cruise line arranged transportation from hotel to cruise ship. I would stay here again. The front desk staff was incredibly nice and genuinely friendly and helpful.

A wonderful hotel situated on the outskirts of Rome with links to buses & the metro close by. Staff were very friendly and very attentive. Breakfast was wonderful with a selection of hot & cold options with great selection of breads & pastries. Definitely recommend.
