The elevator situation was really bad

Convenient to downtown and the event center. This visit was difficult. The elevator was deemed unsafe and blocked by the fire department; they do not have a service elevator. I was assigned to the 3rd floor and it was terrible walking up and down the stairs for two days. The maintenance staff had to take my luggage down to the lobby and all visitors there assigned to the second, third and fourth floors. Today, prior to checkout, the power went out for about 30 min and they do not have a backup generator. I had to use my phone light to see in the restroom.

The Hotel itself is a good value for the price. That being said, maintenance is an issue. One elevator has been out of service since the summer. And, the hallways were overly warm and humid. Also, the overflow parking lot is two blocks away and not well lit. It is a frightening walk at night for a woman by herself. Luckily, the area seems safe. Sundry shop was also poorly stocked.

The business office equipment was old, and inoperable. I could not scan, or copy documents for court briefing !! The front office was not train on supporting the operation of equipment and could not assist from back office. Manager was to call me and print copies upon arrival and they never did. Horrible work experience

The hotel is nice, but starting to show wear and tear and could use some maintenance. Only one elevator worked and I was on the third floor. I tried using the fire stairwell and it only has access to ground floor for exiting so I couldn’t use the stairs to go between the 2nd & 3rd floors easily. The showers are so relaxing & spacious bathrooms you don’t get claustrophobic in with two people getting ready at the same time.

Suite was very nice. Large bedroom, large bathroom and large area with sofa, table 4 chairs. Grass needed to be cut near parking lot. Fountain and ice machine on our floor was not working.

We only slept here for the night. The first room we got looked like someone had taken naps on both beds, and the room was HOT! I took a video and showed the front desk staff. She IMMEDIATELY placed us in a better room. One elevator was out. We wake up to go to breakfast and find BOTH elevators were out, so we had to take the stairs. The breakfast was WONDERFUL and the staff was, as well! We got dressed, and elevators still were not working, so we had to carry our luggage down 2 flights of stairs. We got charged $17.95 for a resort fee. I really feel they should have refunded that! At a resort, one should not have to take stairs! I would like to add that we have stayed at this place twice at Thanksgiving and it was wonderful! They either have really declined or really up their game during holidays!

Both elevators were broken for 1 day, the ice machine was broken on my floor, the staff was extremely friendly

Great location, nothing was terrible but literally everything was slacking. Not a single trashcan in the hotel besides the one in your room, always running out of food at breakfast, workout room was all broken, safe didn’t work, furniture was ripped, elevators malfunctioning. If you need to stay downtown and don’t care if things are a bit scummy, this hotel will work for you. Has potential but is poorly managed.

Elevators not working

We booked this trip several months ago and selected pay at property. But the hotel charged our card 10 days prior to the stay. When we checked in, there was dirty laundry and trash in the hallways, including outside our room. Walked into the room and the floor was still wet from being mopped, although the floor still had visible dirt. I could not walk barefoot in the room without my feet getting dirty. The balcony connected to our balcony in the room next door was in disrepair and made me concerned to use our balcony. Every day we had to get out key cards reactivated. We asked for more coffee for the room at the front desk and we were told each day that there wasn't any more coffee. One night there were other guests were extremely loud in the hall close to midnight. I tried to call the front desk 3 times to see if they could assist with the other guests but no one ever answered at the front desk. One elevator did not work, the carpet all through the hotel is stained. Our comforter was also stained and the dust ruffle was falling apart. The mattress cover did not fit the bed, it was too small and caused the covers to not lay flat. This hotel is advertised as a luxury resort hotel but we were very disappointed.

The floors were filthy, as were the bedspreads. No toilet paper or Kleenex. The wall above the beds was covered in dust. The beds were uncomfortable too. The window was dirty with streaks & clusters of bugs. We will never stay there again or recommend it to anyone!

The room we were assigned when we checked in had not been made up. We were assigned a different room that had been made up and we left and went to dinner because we were late due to the problem with the first room. When we returned to the hotel we met a couple who were headed to their third room after the first two hadn't been made up. When we got to our room we discovered there were holes in the sheets and the shower wasn't clean

My room was dirty, from the second I walked through the door, hair and other debris was on the floor, it was also sticky and had not been properly swept or mopped. I had no tissue in my bathroom and immediately had to call down to the front desk and ask for someone to bring up tissue. The layers of dust is crazy and the most uncomfortable thing about my stay was grabbing a folded “clean” towel only to feel that it was already damp. I immediately threw it because I wasn’t sure if it was damp from the previous guest using it or if housekeeping did not finish drying towels and restocked the room with them in an effort to rush. Either way deplorable. I will never stay there again.

Visiting campus. Not the best. We were on the ground floor. There were people coming in from the A parking lot ALL night long and the doors are very loud. The bathroom shower was dirty or stained. The bed was not comfortable at all. Will not come back.

Great property with very customer friendly employees. Wonderful location in the center of town. Housekeeping, however, is the only reason this is not rated excellent. The rooms are not clean, especially the floors. They are very slippery. The front desk said that was caused by the cleaning solution, but the floors were very dirty. Perhaps that will change.

The hotel is absolutely filthy! This is my 3rd time staying here and each time the floors in the rooms and bathroom are completely unclean. Not vacuumed and definitely not mopped. There was hair, trash, dirt and dust on every surface of the floors. It seems like they only clean the common areas and lobby, etc. It’s such a shame bc the hotel is in the perfect location, but it’s just completely unkept.

We had stayed previously and had a pleasant experience. Thinking we would return, we were disappointed at the run down condition of the facility and the unkempt appearance of our room. Although we had a suite, there were no accompanying amenities such as paper towels, spoons, napkins etc. The fitness equipment was either broken or inoperative. The breakfast was mediocre. Our floors and shower were very dirty. The young lady at the front desk was gracious.

Disappointed and disgusted. The rooms are FILTHY To say the least . I booked a double was handed a dirty single with hair in the bed a disgusting brown to what once was white shower.just filthy! I asked for a full refund and was told i would recieve a 20.00 credit

The room was disgustingly filthy. The floors were not swept or mopped. The furniture was covered in dust. The bathtub had hair in it. There was no stopper for the tub, and when we called the desk to request one they said they would let us know IF they could find one but never reached out to us again. We had to go buy our own. The hallway carpets are stained and smell bad. One of the two elevators was broken so it took forever to get from one floor to the next.

Overall our stay was great. The hotel is lovely and clean. But the room that we stayed in connected to another room apparently. The walls were super thin and the occupants next door was loud and came in and out of their room a lot. We only stayed one night so we dealt with it, but it would have been a problem if we were there any longer.

Has a luxurious feel with elements of historical-like design. Even though it was built in 2016, it feels like an older place that was renovated to keep the old-style architecture. High ceilings, wide molding, spacious rooms, very nice all-brick back patio, comfy beds, extra blankets in closet, large hotel.

Check in was easy - hotel upkeep was subpar. The air conditioner in our room had water damage around the trim & made a very bad rattling noise. Water pressure was low - & the bathroom could use a deep scrub. We’ve stayed several times and although not a perfect stay it was one of our better experiences.

Clean, comfortable, a little dated, but very noisy. I wasn’t able to sleep well after 630am due to the noise in the hallway, and I was in a room furthest from the elevator on an upper floor.

Nice hotel, but parking is very limited close by and noise carries from nearby rooms so that it sounds like the people next door and across the hall are in your room.

The location of this hotel is perfect - lots of restaurants and shopping easily walkable. The hotel staff is also very nice and will easily fix any problems. My only complaint is that the rooms feel a little dated - not all the lights worked, the bedding was a little scratchy etc.

The hotel is nice, the room comfortable but the walls are thin!! Felt like I was sharing a room with those staying on both sides of me!

The hotel is beautiful, But don’t expect to sleep if you’re staying here. The old wood floors leave no room for absorbing sound so you hear every conversation in the room next to you and every footstep from the room above you.

Upon arrival. We had a an issue checking in due to us doing the pre check in. Front staff told us we had to do check in over again because their system isn’t connected with Wyndham where they can see we already completed self check in. When we got to the room; King suit, it was absolutely dirty! The floors were dusty and not swept or mopped. Pulled the sheet back on the bed and there was hair, crumbs and stains on the sheets. Microwave dirty, coffee maker dirty and the shower still had hair from previous customers. We had to get someone to come cleaning again and it was half decent after. The front staff was somewhat understanding but stated they couldn’t give anything off just the money back from the hotel breakfast we paid for and free drink tickets to the bar. Would not stay again unless they have new housekeeping staff who knows how to do their job

We think this hotel is charming, and were looking forward to staying here. The first desk clerk I approached sent me to the other desk as it was close to end of her shift. At 4 pm check in time, guests were lined up for the only other clerk who seemed overwhelmed. We didn’t get assigned the king room with chair that we specifically reserved for my aunt who is elderly and sleeps in a chair to breathe. She was so tired after travel that she didn’t want to call desk and insist on another room. The garbage at the front drive was spilling over, and trash was in the parking lot. We enjoyed talking in the elevators with other customers, however the front desk wasn’t very helpful. Coffe for breakfast was good, eggs were excellent. Sausages weren’t warm. Overall service was disappointing.

Friendly and helpful staff, beautiful place, inside and out. Cold a/c and comfortable beds.

Check in was terrible rooms reserved were not available, no refund on accidental double booking.

Great place to stay. Great location, Great staff

We were greeted when we arrived. The young lady at the desk was kind and helpful. Had some confusion at first because our room wasn’t ready upon arrival but the front desk quickly got us into a new room asap. This hotel use to be really great and very clean but has sadly declined in cleanliness in the last couple years. The bar was only open 1 of the 2 nights we were there because staff just didn’t show up. This could be a real beautiful place to stay and the location is within walking distance of downtown but some of the staff either need to be trained much better or let go. No one was ugly or unpleasant but there was a real lack of pride in the work of some of the staff. I do hope they can get things fixed soon. It will be a while before we return.

The hotel charged my debit card for the full amount of the stay over a week prior to my reservation date, when the terms of the reservation said payment was due at check-in. Expedia reps unsuccessfully tried to resolve this with hotel management and ultimately advised that I would have to deal directly with the hotel. Upon checking in, I was told I would be charged a $100 deposit because the hotel was fully booked that night?! When I said I’d already paid the bill in full, I was told that as soon as the employee checked me into the computer, the charge was debited to my card on record and would be refunded upon checkout. I expressed my dissatisfaction with that, particularly since the hotel did not advise of the deposit at booking and already had had use of my money for a week prior to the agreed-upon payment time. The employee said that when she had reported other guests’ concerns about being charged in full well in advance of check-in, hotel management told her that instructions to continue doing so came from the corporate office. It’s inconvenient enough that hotel parking is across the street and half a block over from the property, but there was no valet service available. I had booked a room with a courtyard view but was assigned a room overlooking a side street and garbage dumpster. More trivial cons were an ironing board but no iron, scratchy bedsheets, and a luggage cart w/ a flat tire that made navigating w/ it difficult, but again, no valet service available.

The room fee for breakfast, parking (which isn’t convenient), local/long distance calls, and wifi? First—who uses hotel phones anymore with cell phones? Wifi-it’s free at the most basic of hotels Parking-this I understand the most but the hotel parking is so small that you have to park at a bank. I should be paying the bank for use of the lot. Breakfast—it is a simple continental breakfast—again that I can get at the most basic of hotels. Why force a breakfast on someone? I told the woman at check-in that I’m not eating breakfast there as we had plans to eat at Lasayone’s. She didn’t care and gave me sass about it. Even staring her down did nothing. Here’s a thought—just add the fee into the price of the room and then you can say all the services above are free.

We came in for a baseball tournament. When we arrived on Friday we had to wait TWO hours in line with 4 kids. The poor employee at the front desk was new, then they had a call in and then they said the manager was at the hospital. I understand the situation was not ideal and I really can't blame the overwhelmed woman at the front desk. It just really didn't start off our weekend right standing from 5:30-7:30 with small kids. I have stayed here mutliple times before and never had this issue.

Great location. Check in difficult.

We have stayed here a few times now and really enjoyed it. The only problem we have run into is parking. There is only a very small lot right at the hotel, and it fills up fast. If you leave for dinner or anything, you will lose your spot. The over flow parking is down the road from the hotel, and it really stinks to have to walk all that way.

Location is great in the historic area downtown near various eating venues that are walkable. Hotel is extremely well maintained and clean. Rooms are large and bedding is ver comfortable. Staff was friendly, helpful, and customer service focused. It’s been a long time since I have experienced this kind of perfection. Will certainly be back!! Only issue is limited parking on site. If hotel had been full parking would have been a real issue … check in and check out parking in front of the hotel is a lil sketchy and often a pile up. Other than that an exceptional stay!

Parking is a problem.

Lovely location walkable to Front Street shops, restaurants & Cane River.

Parking was horrible. It tooks us at least 30 minutes of driving around all 3 of their parking lots to find a spot. They did not in force the parking pass and allow everyone who attended the light attraction to park.

I liked it is convenient to river front & dining options. I did not like limiyed parking on sight & had to park a block away if limited hotel spaces were full.

The hotel was nice, great location, friendly staff, convenient breakfast. Parking was the issue: not a large lot behind the hotel & the remote lot doesn’t have much (if any) lighting. I didn’t feel safe. There were also 3 cars parked in the handicap spots that didn’t have handicapped plates or tags.

Not enough parking close to hotel

The check-in staff member was pleasant and friendly. The property is clean and inviting and is close by shopping places and restaurants. The convenient parking area is too small. I hate parking across the street.

Staff was helpful, particularly for the area job pool given we know the city. Property on the outside was great, and the rooms were clean. The amenities were super light, and the prices on stuff they did have were rediculous. A single servicing small water was $5.80. I went and bought the same bottle in a 24-pack down the street at a mini-mart for a grand total of $6.99. I am surprised the hotel would do something so stupid, as I put this is my public review and listed as a reason I would consider staying elsewhere. VERY short sided, could be the best hotel in town with just a few more sensible decision on managements part. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. Wyndam was a hog that day.

It is a pretty and quaint hotel. It was an ok breakfast. They ran out of biscuits after 1 hour of opening. No apologies.

Breakfast was lackluster and minimal. Parking was terrible. Room was fairly clean, but more attention should definitely be given to the bathroom.

Cannot say enough about the employees here! Everyone was so nice and helpful! The breakfast was delicious and the best eggs ever! The cheesy eggs with peppers!! Hotel was nice. Elevator was slow with only one the guest could use. The parking was close but small…would stay again by all means!

Only complaint is breakfast is at 6:30am and it was not ready until 6:50.

Perfect for access to downtown. Arrived to batteries missing from tv remote, shower is open , so it couldn’t get warm. Breakfast options were not fully available as listed on website.

Reading all the recent reviews I was a little worried. Its not a 4 star hotel and never suggested that it was. For the price its was a nice stay and friendly guest. Free Breakfast was a plus. Great Value!

The location was perfect in proximity to downtown and the fireworks. If you are going during busy season bring all your snacks, drinks and alchohol, because parking is limited and you will loose your spot if you goto the store. In the bar the beers are 7 and wine is 8. The refreshment stand had Tony's pizza and chips for 5.00 each. Water presser was bad in shower but we had hot water, refrigerator in room was not very cool, no microwave in 409- so we had to go back downstairs to make the pizza. The walls are thin, you hear everything. After looking at the breakfast selections, i wasnt paying 12.00 for it. I will stay there again, but next time i will be prepared..

This was my first visit to Natchitoches. A friend suggested the hotel. I was impressed from the time I walked in. The staff greeted me first, then the lobby was so spacious. The room was awesome. I bed was comfortable and the pillows were great. The bathroom as well as the room was very clean. Oh, don't let forget about the continental breakfast, great and the staff there was also friendly. I really enjoyed my stay. I will be returning. Great job.

Hotel is in a great location near downtown area of Natchitoches. It has an historic feel but all the modern amenities you would want. Our room had a balcony overlooking the front and the lobby/patio area was very relaxing. Quiet room, comfortable beds. My only complaint was the breakfast. It was quite pitiful. Sausage and some eggs. No bread, biscuits or southern gravy. no juices or milk to drink. Some cold cereal and a couple pieces of fruit laid out. Have had much better options at much cheaper hotels but still a great place to sleep
