Candlewood Suites Denver North - Thornton by IHG

We stayed here for 3 nights. They had everything we need. Do note that this hotel does not provide breakfast. They do however provide free laundry, 3 washers and 3 dryers, didn’t have to wait if you do it at night. They could provide more dining wares, only provided 2 sets of everything which is only sufficient for one meal, we had to run the dishwasher after every meal, since they also did not provide dish sponge. The outlet mall is just next to the hotel although we did not visit, it’s very close to everything, plenty of fast food options, and a gas station right next to it. Will definitely choose to stay at Candlewood Suites again.

When we were checking in of the rooms had been vacated by people with dogs and apparently still smelled of dogs so the check in staff gave us alternative accommodation. They were very helpful and this hotel is a very convenient place to stay which is excellent value and easy to get to and park and plenty of dining options around. It is clean. We were surprised to find the toiletries (including shampoo, conditioner, body wash and moisturiser) provided in the bathrooms were Dove which we were very happy with, including a difficult teen daughter! It is a basic three star but for a night in our way to the mountains it is a perfect stop and amazing value on a city where all other options were ridiculous value for what you get and other options had expensive parking options further into Denver.

Rooms are comfty, clean and staff are nice. So many stores near walking distance, you can also walk to the outlets. No breakfast, no pool.

Clean, comfortable, well equipped in a convenient location. No bar/restaurant within the hotel, but lots nearby. Basic accommodation. Room makeup needs to be requested for multiple night stays.

3 floors and 83 rooms with 1 elevator. beautiful facility near a good variety of shopping and food choices.

I love that the laundry facilities are 24 hours and FREE with your stay. The kitchenette was well stocked with cooking essentials, and whatever they don’t supply in every room/suite, they have an awesome “lending locker” with just about everything you could think of. From a French press, dvd/blu-ray players and a small movie selection, novels to read, an electric kettle (although this was already rented out for the duration of our stay unfortunately!), to markers for the kiddos, scissors, waffle makers and griddles… Quite impressive! They also lock the main doors after 9pm, so that anyone entering the property has to use a phone located in the entrance area to enter into the hotel. If you have a room key you can gain access to the building through side entrances though, which was nice too. There is no free breakfast included in your stay sadly, but there is free coffee and fruits & bagels they put out every morning and are there until their gone! They have a good selection of things you can purchase or conveniently just grab and fill out a purchase slip with what items you got and drop in a little slot for them to charge to your room, which is great if your in a hurry anytime. The hotel was clean & quiet. The staff was very accommodating for our family, as we had to extend our stay multiple times while there.. And when we needed a late check out shout out to CHEYENNE at the front desk for giving us until 3pm to get our 2 babies & all our stuff out of the room!! Thank you! :)

Location was great and convenient to tue freeway. The floor was super creaky. The refrigerator made an obnoxious rattling sound all night. There was hair on the floor. Parking was ample and felt safe.

Very clean room and friendly staff!

The third floor did not seem to get hot water for showers. The property for the most was clean, but back by Ziggy's coffee in the landscaping, there were water bottles with yellow liquid and other trash.

1st room had blood on sheets. The second room was nice

The room we stayed in smelled like grease. Like when someone makes burgers & that smell stays in the room.

It was very dirty I had to asked to change rooms. The sofa was all worn out and shiny. As you can tell when someone has been staying in there and it needs a remodel. It was very disgusting the last day that we were there I had a little creepy creature crawling on the floor, really grossed me out. The towels were dingy white. They were not bright white. The recliner in the room was torn and wore out. Don’t think I will ever stay there again. I’ve had several stays there, and this has to be my last one.

It was clean and the staff was amazing.

The kitchen was so convenient and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable and the staff was very nice.

The hotel is very convenient for long stays, since it has a full kitchen equiped with everything you need. But it looks a little old, the armchair in my room was torn and the carpet seemed old... But the room was quiet and comfortable. One thing I did not like was the size of the window. It was small making the room not letting in much light. Room service is provided weekly.

What was unique was how their TV/cable system didn't work in 2025. Two separate rooms and both TVs were stuck on one channel.

Not-so-good. Fixtures were broken, worn, or simply tired. Refrigerator was old and loud. The room thermostat was not working so the AC was manually operated ... either on or off. The shower insert was coming away from the wall. Etc, etc, etc. Candlewood is falling well short of its competitors in this hotel sector. Its not awful but choose somewhere else, if you can.

Air conditioner did not work. It was over 100 degrees outside and the AC obviously needed attention.

Not friendly checking in and false advertising about free breakfast

The extremely helpful staff made my stay smooth and seamless.

I was charged three times the amount of incidental deposit with no real explanation except ‘we don’t know why hotels.com had the incidental at $100/night. Sorry’ No compensation offered, no real resolution except I could sit with them and call the bank to try to resolve. I’ve checked out and still have not received anything but a half hearted ‘apology’ and still don’t have the money back. Hundreds of extra dollars paid ‘just because’—- No accountability, no real explanation, no compensation… not even the money back yet. Hotels.com blames the hotel, hotel blames Hotels.com. Typical. Considering litigation due to the issues this caused for my trip and account and extra expenses incurred due to this ‘mistake’

Desk person wasn’t always there to help

Made a reservation for 2 nights and arrived late in the evening for check in. Clerk told me our room was gave to someone else and they were out of rooms. Not very helpful and kept blaming the earlier shift. After a few minutes we were told there was a room but it may not be clean and “good luck with that”. Got lucky and it was somewhat clean. If it wasn’t 11:30 p.m we would have tried another hotel and we had prepaid online. Manager contacted us and was apologetic and said we would be given points but that never happened. A box of snacks were left at our door which half of them had expired! No joke! Bed was comfortable and that is really the only positive thing I can say!

Britney at the front desk was so helpful and friendly. I really appreciated her going above and beyond. Its very refreshing to have great customer service. So far everytime i have staued here everyone is so helpful. Kimberly included. Thank you all

The property was well located. Near the orchard shoppers center. Denver Premium Outlets Right off I-25 and 144th. Plenty of fast food nearby.

It is conveniently located to the vein and heart facility that I was having an operation at. There are tons of restaurants and even a Starbucks all within the area. The room is absolutely gorgeous and the fully furnished kitchenette provides everything you need to accommodate any food you might have or any food you want to make. Keep up the great work!!!

Amazing location mixed with economic price made for a great weekend shopping trip!

I did not like the crowdedness feeling outside the hotel. My window faced the gas station and it was noisy and you could hear cars all hours of the night.

Great stay but beds were terribly uncomfortable. Would be great to have breakfast.

Clean all around….The dislike which I should have researched….no continental breakfast but that makes up for the kitchen.

The online description for Hotels.com says breakfast included. I try to stay at only hotels with breakfast. When I asked about the breakfast in the morning they said the only thing they offer is fruit, which was apples and oranges. That is not breakfast! See attached photo

My stay is always a good one. They just need a Continental breakfast.
