Hotel D'Amsterdam Leidsesquare

Great Amsterdam location, easy 5 minute walk to Leisdeplein, shopping, eating and bars. Rooms have windows that open and they have an elevator!

Stairs were steep but that wasn’t a problem. Rooms were tight which is expected but we had a fire alarm go off at 5am and nobody is on site overnight so the alarm didn’t get checked until 7am so all the guests just stood outside the entire time… No staff onsite made it difficult to call a cab since we don’t speak Dutch and if we needed anything, nobody was there. Also, we were on the 4th floor and when you open the window, there is 1 bar holding you in. You can easily slip under or fall over that bar and that’s not safe. Besides that, typical European room.

Did not have parking at the property. Very small hotel, room, and bathroom. AC worked great though so we were thankful.

The photos of the room did not match reality. The room was furnished with beat up furniture. The walls had not been painted in many years. Trim was missing on the door frame. Old carpeting. Just generally not much care to the quality of the rooms here at all which is unfortunate because it is so expensive. The best thing about the hotel was the lift so that you don’t break your neck on the super steep staircase. The staff was nice enough and they offer a convenient breakfast. Would not recommend.

Goede locatie vlakbij Leidse plein. Geen luxe maar alles wat ik nodig had voor een nacht. Weinig overlast gehad van geluiden binnen of buiten. Het bed was redelijk. Fijn dat er een airco is die jezelf kan bedienen.

Boas acomodações e excelente atendimento e localização. Quarto com varanda e vista para um jardim interno.. Apenas dois detalhes desagradáveis: A cama casal com dois colchões solteiro um deles, já deveria ter sido trocado por estar mole e afundado. O elevador estava com defeito e só parava no terreo quando aciionado por dentro e não se solicitado no terreo, o que obrigava a subir um lance de escada, desconfortável, para pegar o elevador no 1o andar..

It was an OK hotel. The rooms were nice and warm and stayed warm during a very cold weekend in Amsterdam and I thought the bathrooms were clean and acceptable. Our only problem was that there was a lot of noise in and around the hotel and whilst I accept it was the nature of the building, the walls are rather thin. We could hear other guests coming and going and coughing in the night. One guest both mornings left their alarm clock ringing and ringing both mornings leaving another guest so frustrated that they knocked on all the doors (which on reflection was rather strange and we wonder whether this was a tactic used by the hotel to ensure guests woke up in time for checkout). It was an OK stay in a handy part of town. It was rather expensive though - which is more of a reflection on Amsterdam rather than the hotel - and for a little more we could have stayed in one of the larger chain hotels just round the corner. It was an OK stay but we probably won't be back. The staff were friendly especially the lady who checked us out - the staff should focus on their unique qualities in terms of price and location and offer future guests more help and assistance as this will set them apart from the larger hotels near by. Lovely decor outside and lovely coffee shop over the road with great local nightlife, connection to trams and a short walk away from canals and Anne Frank Haus.

Everything was great apart from a quilt each on a double bed - a bit odd and some splashes of something in one of the drawers. I would still definitely recommend.

Overall extremely friendly staff, clean rooms and common area, great convenient location and spacious rooms. GREAT last minute find the day of arrival and couldn’t be happier!

This place is fine if you don’t plan on spending a lot of time in the room. Shower’s cramped. Cable is almost nonexistent. You can hear every noise from the hallway in your room. The facility is a solid C. The staff is lovely. Very accommodating. A+

A sweet little hotel tucked right off easy access to many popular destinations. Beds were narrower than typical “American” twin sized, but plenty long. Small issues with key cards and wifi, but front desk staff were very helpful in sorting things out.

Vi blev meget positivt overraskede over både standarden og servicen. Ankom sent, dvs efter lukketid, men havde skrevet med hotellet forud, så vi blev mødt med stort smil og venlighed. Området ligger roligt til i et hotel/boligområde, og hotellet har kun 16 rum, så der var ingen støj fra hverken gæster eller udefra. Værelset fremstod meget rent, nyrenoveret, dejligt stort og inkl lille køleskab og aircon. Der var en lille balkong og udsigt til stor baggård. Morgenmad skulke aftales aftenen inden og blev serveret separat på hvert bord i morgenmadsrummet i stuen, sikkert som følge af pandemien. Personalet er meget venlige og servicemindede. Gangafstand til det meste, ca 30 min at gå til centralstationen. Alt i alt meget god oplevelse, og vi kommer gerne igen.

So incredibly expensive for an incredibly poor service. We had so many issues, none where solved. The toilet was faulty, the air-con did not and nor did the wifi. They refused to provide us with any kind of refund and it transpired that they were aware of the issues before we complained and before we even arrived, but still took nearly €1000 of my money

Perfekt med ett frukostställe tvärs över gatan. Ett rökfritt hotell men det röktes ändå på rummet bredvid oss.

Tolle, ruhige Lage. Sehr freundlicher Service. Sandwichbar gegenüber. Wasserkocher und Tee auf dem Zimmer. Kleiner Balkon. Gute Ausstattung bei angemessenem Preis. Museen und Centrum in fußläufiger Nähe. Good Service and a nice room. Little balkony Great, quiet location. Very friendly service. Kettle and tea in the room.
