Despite paying the resort fee the water park area was closed. There was no communication before arriving that these areas would be closed. I picked the location for my 3 year old to enjoy the water park areas that it showed and we paid for.

I'm just going to be honest here. We have gone to this hotel a few times because it's low cost and it's not "that bad", but if you're looking for something nice, it's not where you want to be. The main pool area looked like it hadn't been in use for years. The one that most people would probably want to use. The other pools around the property were fine and clean. The room was clean. No bugs. We had a beautiful ocean view. None of the ice machines worked, the elevator had a horrendous smell, and was dirty and sounded awful. The cable didn't work. The staff were average. Nothing wrong, just not exceptional. There were a lot of homeless people walking around. It's probably a good place for college kids or cheapskates lol. We really did enjoy ourselves, but it's definitely not high quality. I'm sure it exists, but it wasn't that bad of a place. I know my standards are pretty low, but I'm being straight forward about it. The inside hallways were not cleaned regularly. Basically, this looks like it may have been a really nice place at one time, but it was not kept up. The gym was also shut down and so was the jacuzzi and inside pool. Not the best, but not the worst either.

Check-in, started with 3 receptionist for approx 20 families checking in. About 1/2 hour into check-in 3 others joined to help, but had to wait 1 1/2 hours for room to be cleaned after complaining to the manager. Found that ALL POOLS except 1 were closed until further notice and the wave pool and slides were closed until further notice for unknown reasons, no compensation when people came here for the water attractions with our kids, drove over 400 miles to stay at this so called resort. Paid resort fees for what? Luckly we brought silverware from home, the room was supposed to have utensils for 4 people, but there was not enough. Flooring was damaged, room smelled like an old sour dirty mop was used, mold along the floor molding in the bathroom, floor felt like sand on the tile. Second day there I asked for new sets of towels and coffee, called 4 times, given different answers from front desk to include that they ran out of coffee, never got the towels or coffee that night. Called on third day at 8:00, was told housekeeping comes in at 9:00, went to the desk at 10:00 just to find out housekeeping just came in at 10:00. I was told that I needed to hunt down housekeeping, found the 1 housekeeper at about 10:45, he told me that they have coffee but no towels, I told him they had towels but no coffee last night. He told me that the washers were broken, he came back 30 minutes later with the towels and the coffee. To many issues and not worth the price. Not recommended.

This property looks amazing in the photos you get there they have half the parking closed couldn’t park near our room because of this. The rooms were terrible gaps all around the door and you could tell they had been broke into plenty of times. Drugs being used right on the property as they property had no security or staff walking and making those people move on the pools were all closed because of contamination. Just a very unsafe place for a family

Balcony doors screwed shut. No working pool or waterpark. Room was hot. Only an air vent in bathroom and bed room. None in living room area. Wifi would not connect. Door key machine not working had to wait for keys for over an hour. When asked for refund because we did not stay there had to wait til next day to get it because they had no cash to give back. Also long line of other customers with different complaints. We stayed there years ago with no problems ad enjoyed it...Never again

I truly feel bad having to provide such a low star rating in all categories, however this has been the most disappointing property I have EVER stayed at! The main lazy river and pool areas are closed, they appear to be empty for quite some time, at least 2-3 other pools are closed around the property, all room doors and building surfaces, Exteriors are chipping or have major work needed, indoor pool bottom surface needs a new liner as it looks extremely old and chipping, and the only operational pool next to the indoor pool was also in mediocre condition with a lot of debris especially in the 1ft area…. We saw a roach in our room, and just about everything looks like its at least 20 years old inside the rooms, and the exteriors are all in original/deteriorating condition because the hotel was built in the 50’s, and it doesnt look like any effort has been made with the upkeep of the property. Every arcade or other amenity type space is closed and full of junk, most ice machines inoperable. Truly disappointing experience overall.

Don’t book here! There are no water park amenities and only 1 pool open that’s not contaminated or shut down by the state for the entire resort to use. Also if you enjoy sleeping with cockroaches then this is your jam.

I booked this last minute and I paid the price for it. The room was literally dirty! Dirt on the floor, sand on the floor etc. The room door wouldn’t stay shut unless you slammed it! There’s no linen services. The only good was the pool because clearly no one was there. I have never stayed in a place like this and my impulsivity for a weekend getaway when so many hotel were booked, resulted in me staying in this nasty place. Never again.

This property was the sketchiest place I’ve ever stayed in. There were stains on the blankets and sheets, the bathroom was dirty, the refrigerator was dirty, the curtain was dirty, the balcony was dirty, there was a roach in the bathroom that I had to pretend was a beetle so my kids wouldn’t freak out and there was trash just sitting outside the elevator on the floor on the main level for 2 days. The day I checked out the cleaning ladies weren’t wearing clothes to indicate that they were working there; they could have been anybody and the trash was still sitting on the floor outside the elevator. I had hopes for this place since it sits on the beach, but it was horrible.

This is a trash bucket it's a great location because you right on the beach.. I left a day early because I was tired of that trash bucket. The tub didn't work properly and they didn't fix it either, dryed blood was on the wall at the bottom by base board. No towel no sheet the supervisor said they don't service the room anymore. PlZ DONT TAKE YOUR FAMILY HERE i bought and clean my room for my family. I ask for a refund for one night since we don't have towels sheets and the tub still ain't fix..the Supervisor said we don't do refunds..THIS NOT A RESORT

Our fridge stopped working and all our food went bad. The room floor was visibly dirty like it hasn’t been cleaned in forever. The couches, and chairs were so dirty they weren’t their original color anymore. Were also visibly dirty to sight. The balcony was locked, even when we booked an oceanfront room. Nowhere did it mention the hotel room balcony was going to be closed for “renovation” in that case that whole hotel building should’ve been closed if we didn’t get what we were paying for which was oceanfront and to be able to be out in the balcony in FRONT OF THE OCEAN. Couldn’t get a hold of no one in the main office. Called 5 times and no one picked up. TV’s did not work. One turned on and was programmed very bad with the remotes to the point where buttons did not match the operation of the tv and button. The internet provided for “guest” never popped up available. Second day stay our rooms weren’t cleaned up and stocked again with toilet paper. We had to go ask for a refill on toilet paper and towels. Do not recommend at all to book at this hotel. We’ve stayed at cheaper hotels that have been way better than this one.

Awful experience. Confusing layout (multiple buildings, separate parking). Staff with limited English had me photograph a tattered map taped on the counter (no physical maps available). Paid $45 resort fee despite unusable amenities ("no swimming" pool). Unlabeled card key. Paper bracelets were mandatory for security and resort use. Room in different building, unclear floor (elevator to second floor, then stairs). Poorly lit property, faded building name. Dirty room next to stairs, minimally furnished. Broken amenities (TV, fridge), noisy AC, clogged sink, sandy floor/bedding, dead cockroach. Worse conditions for two other families with us (cockroach infestations). The pictures for this place is misleading. There are multiple rooms abandoned. The first room they gave me the AC wasnt working and there was a cabinet in it with no top. Unsafe and shouldnt have been there. The second room they placed me in was ok for the price. The manager was helpful. There was at least three GREEN pools on the property that guest couldnt use. The main slide on for the waterpark closed an hour early before the waterpark did. Ice Machines didnt work in our building. And to top it off the parking is not great. My car was dinged and the security staff informed me to just file an insurance claim. I was not impressed with this hotel at all!!

Property was just what I expected for the price at last minute. While old and in disrepair, it was obviously being addressed in renovations. The room was dated but clean. Locks were secure and functional. The view was spectacular and unobstructed. The towels were top notch! The front desk/check in staff were friendly, helpful, and fast.

I booked for 3 nights Sep 19-21. The property, specifically the Building Spray, is very outdated and requires major renovation. I was given a password for the internet that doesn't work. TV is not working, I complained about it to the front desk she said she will put in a work order but nothing happened so I didn't have TV nor internet for the whole 4 days of stay. I killed a roach crawling around. There is a sign on the sliding door to the balcony that it is not safe to enter. None of the outdoor pools is useable. No ironing board, iron and coat hangers. Never again!

Our fridge stopped working and all our food went bad. The room floor was visibly dirty like it hasn’t been cleaned in forever. The couches, and chairs were so dirty they weren’t their original color anymore. Were also visibly dirty to sight. The balcony was locked, even when we booked an oceanfront room. Nowhere did it mention the hotel room balcony was going to be closed for “renovation” in that case that whole hotel building should’ve been closed if we didn’t get what we were paying for which was oceanfront and to be able to be out in the balcony in FRONT OF THE OCEAN. Couldn’t get a hold of no one in the main office. Called 5 times and no one picked up. TV’s did not work. One turned on and was programmed very bad with the remotes to the point where buttons did not match the operation of the tv and button. The internet provided for “guest” never popped up available. Second day stay our rooms weren’t cleaned up and stocked again with toilet paper. We had to go ask for a refill on toilet paper and towels. Do not recommend at all to book at this hotel. We’ve stayed at cheaper hotels that have been way better than this one.

I liked the hotel because it is close to the beach, offers ocean views from the room, and has convenient parking. However, I had several issues during my stay. Communication with the front desk was difficult, as there was no phone in the room and it was hard to reach them using my cell phone. The pools and jacuzzi were dirty, and the jacuzzi was not working. Both the elevator and hallways were very dirty as well. The heating and air conditioning system was extremely noisy. Additionally, I had to go to the front desk every day to get low-quality towels. Check in went ok - front desk folks were nice. Carpet was very worn & dirty looking. Room was disappointing - water wouldn't turn off in the tub, door didn't have chain bolt, there was a hole in the wall & door to the balcony was incredibly difficult to open & close and wouldn't close all the way to actually lock. The view was wonderful and location was great with easy access to the beach.

We didn’t have access to the balcony and the wifi wasn’t working for one day so we couldn’t watch tv. The first room was dirty but staff helped up get a better one. The furniture need to be updated. Not too bad for a last a minute trip ….wouldn’t be my first choice definitely a last resort option. Staff was friendly and nice.

Checked in at 11:30! They stated our room wasn’t ready and they would call us to pick up key when room was ready! 4pm no call we went back to check in and the room still wasn’t ready! At 5:30 still no call!! After flying from 1215 am west coast to the east coast we really needed to get into a room and make the decision to book a nearby hotel! Never received a call! Dealing with a full refund by resort and Expedia will take time due to never staying there!! Pool slides no operational! Lobby carpet look like it’s never been vacuumed! Worst so called resort we’ve ever not stayed in!

Check-in, started with 3 receptionist for approx 20 families checking in. About 1/2 hour into check-in 3 others joined to help, but had to wait 1 1/2 hours for room to be cleaned after complaining to the manager. Found that ALL POOLS except 1 were closed until further notice and the wave pool and slides were closed until further notice for unknown reasons, no compensation when people came here for the water attractions with our kids, drove over 400 miles to stay at this so called resort. Paid resort fees for what? Luckly we brought silverware from home, the room was supposed to have utensils for 4 people, but there was not enough. Flooring was damaged, room smelled like an old sour dirty mop was used, mold along the floor molding in the bathroom, floor felt like sand on the tile. Second day there I asked for new sets of towels and coffee, called 4 times, given different answers from front desk to include that they ran out of coffee, never got the towels or coffee that night. Called on third day at 8:00, was told housekeeping comes in at 9:00, went to the desk at 10:00 just to find out housekeeping just came in at 10:00. I was told that I needed to hunt down housekeeping, found the 1 housekeeper at about 10:45, he told me that they have coffee but no towels, I told him they had towels but no coffee last night. He told me that the washers were broken, he came back 30 minutes later with the towels and the coffee. To many issues and not worth the price. Not recommended.

The second room already had the bed disheveled where someone had climbed in. I asked to have house keeping come change the sheets. I was told they would but they never came. I brought pictures to the front desk of how dirty the room was. They did refund me for 1 of the 2 nights I stayed. There are NO phones in the room. The elevator felt as though the floor was going to give in with rot and is hidden with no lights outside. It felt very dangerous. Most of the staff was nice. Especially Grace. She handled everything and went above an beyond to work with what she had. She definitely deserves a raise

Front desk staff rude and very very unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend this property to someone I didn’t like it was so bad. Gave me a room on 10th floor and elevator would only go to the 8th floor room had Sheetrock falling off the walls and dirty with hair on all fixtures of the bathroom. I had went to ask for another room but the front desk staff was very rude in what ever I was explaining to them so they gave me my money back and I went elsewhere so if I could give negative numbers on the survey well you know what I’m trying to say DONT STAY HERE!!

Everyone at the front desk was so very nice. My ac wasn't working in my room and I saw a roach and freaked out. They put me in another room and gave me a refund for some of my stay. Very helpful, nice and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Tenants have to wait for room to be ready even after 16:00 and check-in. They have 6 hours to clean 10am-4pm, but even after check-in we forced to wait. Staff is not responsive and delaying room readiness for hours. When asked when the room will be ready, the staff replies: we don’t know, we’ll inform you once it ready.

My stay was good up until they did have any towels or wash cloths which I thought was so crazy I never heard of a hotel that supply towels and wash cloths run out I was told I had to wait til 1:00 the following day to get towels and wash cloths very disappointed but other than that hotel was clean I suggest that you bring your own towels if you plan on booking with the Sea mist / Sandcastle

The room had a few dead water bugs in we had to go across the street to the pool it say Ocean View but we did not have a ocean view then the TV did not work they said it was out so they said we will get a credit and 5 to 7 Days of our Resort fee have yet to receive a resort fee the one good thing is is right at the beach and you didn't have to walk far and the people at the front desk were nice I would only use this Motel if you was just using it to sleep in at night

I'm just going to be honest here. We have gone to this hotel a few times because it's low cost and it's not "that bad", but if you're looking for something nice, it's not where you want to be. The main pool area looked like it hadn't been in use for years. The one that most people would probably want to use. The other pools around the property were fine and clean. The room was clean. No bugs. We had a beautiful ocean view. None of the ice machines worked, the elevator had a horrendous smell, and was dirty and sounded awful. The cable didn't work. The staff were average. Nothing wrong, just not exceptional. There were a lot of homeless people walking around. It's probably a good place for college kids or cheapskates lol. We really did enjoy ourselves, but it's definitely not high quality. I'm sure it exists, but it wasn't that bad of a place. I know my standards are pretty low, but I'm being straight forward about it. The inside hallways were not cleaned regularly. Basically, this looks like it may have been a really nice place at one time, but it was not kept up. The gym was also shut down and so was the jacuzzi and inside pool. Not the best, but not the worst either.

Our room was great! I was unsure due to the horrible reviews, but it was excellent! Almost all the pools are shut down but one, which was disappointing, but we weren't charged for them. The hotel on the outside was a little intimidating, but when I opened the room door it was a different story. There was some DIY looking job on the transition on the floor, but who cares! The room was clean, smelled perfectly fine. The beds were clean and slept okay. We stayed in 40214 I ahve absolutely no complaints about Sea Mist. Staff was very nice. Check in was easy. Staff explained exactly where the building was, parking and gave us a map. Check out was easy too. Would definitely stay here again! No complaints

I did not get the ocean front room I booked. It was old and outdated. Pools were closed and disgusting. Didn’t get to swim. Only the ocean. The balcony was rusty. No central air. The customer service was nice but I won’t stay there again.

Was right on the beach, which was a plus for what we were looking for. The property overall was really good, only complaint was never saw or observed the presence of a housekeeper. This seems like it was and could be an amazing even unbelievable place to stay, if they just had more staff to cover the sheer amount of rooms they have

This seems like it was and could be an amazing even unbelievable place to stay, if they just had more staff to cover the sheer amount of rooms they have

This was supposed to be a water park, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, hot tub, cabana bar. All the water events were closed with signs saying per health department, bar has been closed for years, old cigarette butts on balcony, TV had no major networks, no dish soap on premises, crappy bed mattress and box springs.

The house had it little details like not fully clean and they they have over grown weeds in the gutters.and etc… but it was good how ever how the they waited for me to pay and then they told me that the pool were not available.and also they had no food service. And they did not have me my deposit back.i will not be receiving this place again.☹️

The good: we had an ocean front room, a bed, a shower, and the staff was friendly. Beyond that, we don't have many nice things to say, unfortunately. We are not "upscale" people. We chose to book a 3 star hotel instead of a 4 or 5, but this place is so run down & almost seems abandoned. In it's day, it was probably awesome. The kis would probably enjoy the "waterpark". None of the hot tubs/spas were working, the indoor pool was just gross, other pools were empty, the restaurants were deserted, and there were areas that were trashed & creepy. The elevator was super tiny and so rickety we held our breath every time we stepped foot inside. Other than sand on the floor (which is inevitable at the beach) our room was clean, but we didn't even have a full roll of toilet paper. No extra rolls, no tissues. The phone in our room didn't work so we couldn't call the front desk and the phone number on the phone was incorrect. They gave us enough coffee for 2 cups for our entire stay & no condiments to go with it. Nowhere to get coffee within walking distance because everything is deserted or closed. No alarm clock. I would love to see someone come in & put love & care into this property because it could be an awesome resort. It's just been let go. We were very thankful for an oceanfront room, our tiny balcony, a bed, and a hot shower with great water pressure. That's all we really need when traveling just the two of us, but I can't say we'd ever bring our children here.

I stayed here about 5 years ago and thought it wasn't that bad. Well they have done absolutely no outside maintenance at all. Place is in deplorable condition!!! Parking lot filthy. No longer have an outside bar. All the deck chairs are broken with homeless people sleeping on them. Paint and plaster peeling everywhere. Good grief. The room itself wasn't bad the mattress was to soft for my taste and pillows to thick but that's the chance u take at hotel. Just clean the joint up and do some outside maintenance.

Online advertising is not what you get when u arrive, pictures must been taken when it was new. Outside bar area has not been used in recent history, very poor condition inside, smell is bad, mold rust Thru out. Outside area’s around property are run down and in need of repair,
