I did not like climbing 2 sets of stairs I did not know about all the stairs.

A nice modern apartment close to St Paul Street for restaurants and bars. Car park Indigo next door is cheaper than the one on the opposite side. In room 203 the internet is more like 20 Mbps not 500 as stated on the website. View of a fire escape. No elevator.

It’s a great little spot but I don’t recommend if you have trouble with a lot of stairs as there is no elevators and many stairs. Great communication from the owner and the place looks fairly clean there were a few areas that we questionable (kitchen there was still coffee stains on the counter).

Misleading! No affiliated parking (advertised $25 per day self parking) and we had to pay $50 daily CASH off-site. NO FRONT DESK/RECEPTION on site. Not easily available with the phone number provided "voicemail not set up". Previous occupant's bathroom towels still hanging on bathroom door. Room door lock never fixed (was told someone would come to fix it). Great location but lied about parking and "front desk hours". We initiated concerns thru Hotels.com. A staff member, Osman, called me (after Hotel.com called them) and asked for documentation proving they advertised incorrectly. I complied and he said he would "check into it". Still nothing.

The property was very responsive through phone when needed and the location was stellar. Parking was extremely close in lot, which is pay as you go through an app and reasonably priced. The size of the room was extremely spacious, and comfortable. Would certainly consider rebooking with this location for future stays in Montreal.

One of the worst stays of my life. We parked our car at the parking lot suggested by the hotel, and upon checking out of the hotel found that our car was stolen. Montreal police and the parking attendant claimed this was “the worst parking lot in the city” for car theft. There are no cameras in the parking lot. During our 3 days staying at the hotel we never encountered a member of the staff at the front desk. We were unable to coordinate with the hotel to stay an additional night because our car was stolen, because no one would answer the phone. The hotel room was messy and shoddily put together (the stair cable railing was unstable and could easily be pushed out of the dry wall). This was my 2nd and absolutely last time staying at the Bakan. If you are planning on staying here DO NOT park your car at their suggested lot. Your car will be stolen.

It was a walk up with no elevator, which was not made clear in the details. We chose this place because it also offered parking, but that was not the case. Public parking is available down the street and you can only book a spot 24 hrs at a time. Beautiful condo but the only available window looked out onto a fire escape that was badly littered. Use of scented air freshener was overpowering, not good for those with sensitivities. Otherwise convenient to all downtown tourist spots, close to waterfront and lots of restaurants.

General condition of the outside and the inside of the property were unkept and dirty, the beds were incredibly uncomfortable, the bathroom was tiny, the facilities such as the kitchen faucet sink was nearly falling off of the counter, over remote control did not have batteries and took over three hours to have it replaced, the coffee maker was insufficient. Did not recommend. Keep looking!

I loved how close the property was to many attractions and other activities. The property itself was ok. I wish it was cleaner, bed sheets had scuff marks and there was some mold in shower, the shower head and shower in general needs some updating. Some of the lights didn’t work and the sink in the kitchen wasn’t working either. When I needed towels and toilet paper we got them right away and they communicated well and answered right away which was a plus.

The property is located in a very walkable area. But when you enter the building you are treated by a dirty stained carpet and a strong smell of bleach that is clearly trying to mask the other smells. The unit was very dark and humid so we have to open the window but the pile of garbage downstairs made it difficult to leave the window open. The kettle did not turn on and the garbage can was broken. There was also very suspicious stains all over the duvet and the sheets. Overall i would not recommend this place.

On entering apartment 303 was welcomed by the horrendous smell of what can only be described as a rotting dead animal corpse of some kind, on investigation can only assume from the rat box located in the air conditioning cubbord, endeavoured to find it but was unsuccessful. To relive myself of the smell went to open the only window in the apartment to discover it was unlockable so had to endure the thought of having the window opened by people passing on the emergency stairs at any given moment day or nite. To take my mind of the ordeal I already found myself in I went to turn on the tv to find that it didn’t work as the hdmi port on the back of the tv was missing its connectors for the cable box to provide signal to the tv - shambolic really Finally on venturing to take a shower I was met by what can only be described as numerous long hairs stuck to every wall and service throughout the bathroom. I immediately tried to make contact with yourselves and with the maids in the establishment to be met by no responsive half promises of remediation but nothing materialised. Additionally we booked for 3 persons and we greeted with towels for only 2 and the same for cutlery and amenities. Every time we asked the only people on site nothing ever materialised- not worth the price.

It was a great location and beautiful place; unfortunately, the dishes were still dirty in the dishwasher when we arrived. It was very hard to open and close the entrance door; mother in-law was unable to; because it was rubbing on the floor. And you could here everything from outside; it felt like the windows were open. As well; the plug on the wall where the oven was and the toaster had no power. But overall; it was beautiful place. m And i would consider it again. And as mentioned; perfect location.

We had some problems at our arrival with the cleaning of the room. We arrived at 11:00 pm the room was not cleaned and completely dirty. We had to call guest service and wait 40 min to get another cleaned room in the property. Also while we were promised a cleaning lady to come in and clean our room everyday she o Ly came once. Really disappointed with the service.

Comforter had stains and was torn. I question if the sheets and covers were washed. Living room/bedroom potlights, half didn't turn on. The outside and hallway was in great condition. It is in a great area and walkable to old Montréal and the port.

Fantastic spot. However upon arrival there was dirty towels hanging on the back of the bathroom door, hair in the bathtub, floors were dirty with bits of small trash that was never swept up. Would be a fantastic place if the cleanliness was up to par. Perhaps the cleaner had an off day???

There is so much to say. Firstly, if you want to be prepared, here a PRO tip…. Make sure you go to the gym before your arrival apon this hotel and mind you we are two young girls… arriving here we basically turned into bodybuilders in order to carry our bags up these damn stairs. When we got into the hotel room we noticed our sink was clogged, we went to speak to front desk and no one was there. So we went to bed…. But when we woke up unfortunately we noticed BLOOD!!!! stains on the bedding. We went to front desk.. and we had to beg the worker to speak to us. We showed her a pic of the bloody bed and she gasped and was holding back her laugh…… I’m glad we were able to amuse her. So basically the bedding was a bloody pad! How fun…. Also the place was so dirty and dusty I discovered allergies I never knew I had…. Walking on these floors bare foot will make you look like a Dalmatian dog because my foot was literally black from picking up the dust from the floor….no need for them to use a mop, because their guests turned into human brooms…. Bring slippers. One last thing….. if the big bad wolf came to blow on the building…then the door would open wide because these doors do not lock. Enjoy your stay!!!

We didn’t stay at the property because of fan motor noise was so bad it exasperated the tinnitus not allowing any relaxation while we were in the room. I tried to contact someone but no response and I hope they refund this horrible experience. Also the floors were sticky and the room smelled bad. I would not recommend this place especially for the price being charged.

Our room was very spacious. Had 2 beds in separate room and bathroom was amazing! Location was great, close to the church and old montreal area. There were so many restaurants nearby. At night time, it gets a little loud but it was ok.

Great location. Clean. Easy to self check in. Some street noise at night - to be expected in this neighbourhood. Overall was great.

The place was nice but didn’t have WiFi for half the trip and TV wasn’t working. Many of lights were out, making the kitchen and bathrooms dark. They were not replaced on our stay. Communication was lacking with property management. Was listed as 2 bath but was only 1 and a half bath. Would not rent this space again or with this company.

The location was great. Close to most of the tourist destinations. Was spacious and comfortable.

No communications from hotel after emailing several times about issues. No soundproofing so very loud for sleeping- I could actually hear people walking on the street below as well and talking and every car that drove by (we had 2nd floor room with windows onto the street).Also restaurant plays loud music til 10pm which you will easily hear. And as windows not insulated there was a draft from window onto the bed. Had to find extension cord for the TV & then it wouldn't go past the 1st screen (in french) & we couldn't watch anything. There is a nice looking kitchenette with a small amount of items- but only 1 coffee cup! The apartment door seems very insecure and has definitely been kicked in several times- the frame was loose and the door had a small lock which has been repaired (not even a deadbolt). I would not stay here again. It is a good location in Old Montreal and was easy to get into the building and our room as they emailed me the door codes. The space is laid out well but obviously they didn't put effort into the finishing touches- several areas of paint peeling, bad repair work & water damage in bathroom & about 9 different light switches but couldn't get the light to work by the door or several of the ceiling lights. I'm a pretty basic person but this was not a good stay. Had they responded to any of my emails and moved us to a different room maybe our stay would have been better for us. Find somewhere else to stay.

First of all - NO ONE IS EVER ON SITE and when you do call they make things up and dont follow through. Bathroom - only 1 light of 5 was working, ill fitted toilet seat, door handle kept falling off, thresh hold bracket moves, and NO WASHER AND DRYER as advertised. Kitchen - broken garbage can, dishwasher soap door was broken, random extra mini refrigerator Livingroom - tv was not working, windows were screwed shut, the main door did not close and lock properly and had electrical tape to hold handle on, fire escape was blocked. Bedroom - no robes as advertised The worst was that we had water come into the room from rain from the ceiling. It made the floor, wall and bed wet. The nightstand drawer was filled with water. When we called, bc hotels.com gave us a number, they said they would send someone and never did for 3 days. We were forced to clean it up ourselves after finding towels in a closet in the main area of the building. Hotels.com did a great job trying to communicate with the property but also DID NOT get anyone to respond.

Very nice hotel, it is a two story apartment with 2 washroom and 2 bedrooms. Lower level is living, dining room, kitchen and washroom. Upper floor with 2 bedrooms, washroom and laundry (washer dryer). Very clean with hardwood flooring. Kitchen comes with pans and pods, plates and tools. The only thing you need is your own oil and spices. The service is great, although there is no reception, you can just leave message to them, they will provide you all access and info including the parking info by text message. Not even mention it is locating in the core of old Montreal. Price is good. Noted that there might be some broken hardware here and there, I don’t mind because I always bring a screwdrivers when travel. I cam easily go ahead and complain about it but hey, I am on vacation after all. I considered this as one kind of experience.

The communication needs improving. I had to call expedia to contact the property so we can get in. Also they do not give back the security deposit instead ask you to reach out to your bank within 5 business days to get that refund.

The overall apartment is very nice and comfortable. In a great location , very close to the center of Old pot! Located on a Beautiful cobble stone street, steps away to Café A few things to note. The kitchen does not have enough dishes or silverware. There are a few things that need to be fixed in the apartment. Also there is no elevator. No staff on duty, there is a desk as you enter with a bell to ring for service, we tried 4 different times and no one ever came out to assist.

This hotel was one of the most amazing places I have stayed in Montreal old port. Perfectly located excellent check-in, very helpful reception and amazing room real value for money

You have to make a request if you want housekeeping, in our case i didnt mind contacting them for housekeeping coz I thought its given, so when we came back to our room after our business during the day, no one came to clean, towel has not been changed, washroom supply is not refilled including toilet paper good thing we brought our own just incase. Unsatisfied, no one in the counter to ask question.

Being situated in Old Montreal is definitely a huge asset. The architecture of the area is awesome! We appreciated the peace and quiet of this particular boutique hotel as well as the pleasant staff. Initially, the stairs were somewhat of a challenge for an older person but after awhile it became easier. I would highly recommend.
